A heartbroken mother has heaped heavy curses on her daughter for getting married without her consent.

It appears the daughter tied the knot with her lover without informing her mother, and this hurt the mother gravely.

In a viral video that has elicited mixed reactions from netizens, the woman is seen hurling curses at her daughter in Igbo.

Although it’s still unclear why the daughter got married without her mother’s knowledge, the clip has sparked varying reactions from social media users.

While some argued that the daughter was wrong to marry without her mother’s consent and blessing, others berated the mother’s reaction to the situation.

A Nigerian woman has tearfully narrated how her mother died as a result of domestic violence at the hands of her father.

She shared her heartbreaking story during a service at Harvesters Church, Lagos, recently.

She said she watched her father physically assault her mother on multiple occasions, resulting in a brain tumor that eventually killed her.

According to her, the experience has made it difficult for her to forgive her father, and she hasn’t spoken to him in six years.

She further disclosed that she now despises men and the idea of marriage because she had a bad experience with her father.

Her words:

“About my father, I grew up in a broken home basically and I kinda grew up with the fact that getting married is trash because I grew up with a father that is actually a domestic violent person.

“Then, I lost my mum to it. She had a brain tumour from too much hitting. For close to 6 years now I have been in denial about the fact that it didn’t hurt me and I didn’t forgive him for close to four years.

“I noticed that while I was battling with forgiving him I was travelling at work my work wasn’t moving properly. Like I would work and I won’t be able to receive what I work for and I didn’t know that that was what was happening.

“So one of these days I was watching a prayer and there was a prayer that said we had to let go. It has affected my dating life because I stay away from the gender honestly. I think I have a friend somewhere here. She could say it I’m always like I don’t want to talk about them.

“My friends are talking about marriage as I’m like “na una wan marry oh. Me e no dey my top 10 list”. I do that, I still do it. I’m sure they’re watching me live right now and they’re saying thank God she’s talking about it finally.

“I was finally able to forgive him but I have not been able to communicate with him. I haven’t had the courage to pick up my phone and call him, like I’ve not spoken to him in 6 years. I try whenever I call him it rings once he picks up the phone I end the call.”

A Nigerian groom has set tongues wagging on social media over his lackadaisical attitude at his wedding ceremony held recently.

The groom was captured pressing his phone during the wedding reception while completely ignoring his bride and the Master of Ceremony.

In the trending clip, the MC had instructed the bride to cut a slice of cake and serve her husband like she would do in their home.

The MC also told the groom to spread his legs so the bride could kneel in between them while serving him.

However, the groom paid no attention to the event host and continued pressing his phone in the presence of his bride and their wedding guests.

A viral video has captured the quite dramatic moment a lady turned down her boyfriend’s marriage proposal in church.

In the clip, the lady who just turned a new age was seen carrying a birthday cake while being flanked by some church members who had gathered to celebrate her, when her man decided to seize the moment to ask for her hand in marriage.

As she swooned over her birthday cake, her boyfriend suddenly went on one knee, holding up a ring, and popped the question in the presence of other church members.

However, while excited onlookers were chanting “say yes,” the lady who apparently was not having it forced her boyfriend to get up because he was embarrassing her.

Despite the onlookers’ cheer and her man’s repeated requests to accept his proposal, the lady kept saying she had warned him against a public proposal.

“I told you I don’t want this, what’s the meaning of this?, why are you embarrassing me,” she said as she hit him multiple times before throwing the birthday cake at him.
