Popular Nigerian singer Peter Okoye has lambasted colleague Seun Kuti for labelling Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, an opportunist.

It all started when Seun Kuti, the son of music legend Fela Anikulapo Kuti, noted in a podcast that only the people of Nigeria can save this country.

According to him, Peter Obi cannot save Nigeria as his supporters claim, tagging him as an opportunist.

“He hasn’t had the time because he started too late. You can’t be telling me that just because you lost PDP primaries 18 months before the election, you suddenly started a movement, and you have a plan for the country.” He said in part.

Seun Kuti claimed that while some politicians gave him money to support them in 2015 and he refused, Peter Okoye has been receiving money from politicians since 2015 and attending their campaigns.

Reacting to Seun Kuti’s comments, Peter Okoye, known to be a staunch supporter of Peter Obi, lambasted him in a series of posts.

Peter argued that Seun’s music is irrelevant. He noted that if not for Seun’s father, Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti, nobody would have known him.

Drama as Portable confronts man who refuses to pay after eating at his restaurant (Video)

There was a mild drama at singer, Portable’s restaurant in Sango Ota recently when an Instagram content creator played a prank on the singer.

An Instagram content creator, identified as Kopa Respect, was at Portable’s restaurant and decided to pull a prank on the singer and his staff, sharing their hilarious reactions on social media.

Kopa Respect requested to be served with two drinks and turkey; however, after dining, he refused to pay.

Portable, who was at the eatery and had been observing the interaction between the prankster and his staff, stepped in and intervened.

In the video that has since gone viral, Portable is seen questioning Kopa Respect over his refusal to pay his bill after eating at the restaurant.

Kopa Respect objected and said he wouldn’t pay because the items on his bill and what he was served were entirely different.

After the back and forth, Portable decided to let the content creator leave without paying. Kopa Respect then acted like he wanted to go out, but he later confessed that it was a prank, which left everyone, including the singer, bursting into laughter.

A Nigerian man on Twitter has opined that the majority of Nigerian men are clueless on how to love women.

The man identified as Uncle Charles, who sparked discussion on the microblogging platform after he shared his opinion, said the majority of Nigerian men are not romantic and terrible lovers to women who are not materialistic.

He claimed that this is why they gravitate toward unemployed women, because financial gains will impress them.

Popular Nigerian singer, Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid’s third babymama, Jada Pollock, has taken to social media to speak on motherhood.

In a Twitter post on Tuesday, January 7, the mother of two, who doubles as the singer’s manager, shared her experience as a working mother.

According to Jada, she has worked for ten days without her nanny, juggling work and taking care of her kids, and it has not been easy.

She commended women who shuffle between motherhood and work, revealing that it had definitely not been a smooth journey for her.

Nigerian singer Olamide has reacted to a trending video of singer Portable, speaking on his desire to win international music award, Grammy.

Portable recently revealed in an interview with a media personality, Timi Agbaje, that his ultimate goal for his music career will be winning a Grammy award.

He noted that the peak of his career will be winning “Best African Artist” at the Grammys.

Speaking in Pidgin English during the interview, the interviewer asked him, “Wetin be thing wey you go like achieve for your life.“

Portable then replied, “Make I no lie you, na to collect grammy, yes na. Best artiste for Africa, number one, that Ika of Africa, that Ika of Africa I must collect that award, if I collect that award, international oh, no be all those local awards, no be all those industry awards, you know say them get caucus.”

In addition, the indigenous singer expressed desire to collaborate with Nigerian sensational singer, Asa.

A young black girl has stirred controversy on TikTok after she claimed that her Chinese family kidnapped her from the hospital as a baby.

In a series of video she posted, the lady with TikTok handle @amour_dottie147, alleged that she recently discovered that she was abducted by the Chinese family who raised her.

According to the lady, who is in the Army, despite knowing that she was kidnapped, she still loves them and considers them her real family.

She also stated that her Chinese family raised her well and she was not deprived of love and attention as a child.

@amour_dottie147 captioned one video, “Even tho I was kidnapped out of the hospital by this Chinese man as a baby I still love him I was raised so well🥰🥰🥺”.

Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable, has spoken on why he never hesitates to drag and call out anyone on social media who he feels has treated him unjustly.

The Zazu Zeh star, who has been involved in a number of social media dramas since his rise to fame, revealed why “he fights online” in a recent interview with media personality, Timi Agbaje.

You will recall that Portable has previously called out Nigerian celebrities the likes of Pocolee, Kogbagidi, Small Doctor, and, most recently, ace cinematographer TG Omori, to name a few.

He accused dancer and hype man Pocolee of attempting to hijack his hit song “Zazu Zeh” in 2021, as well as cornering money music icon Wizkid, who sprayed him at an event.

Recently, he called out his colleague, Small Doctor, accusing him of setting him up.

However, during the interview with Timi Agbaje, Portable explained that he’s involved in social media squabbles to prevent people from cheating him.

When Timi asked Portable why he fights online, he responded with a question: “Have you been ripped before?”

A man has taken to Twitter to berate his father for being ‘weak’ after discovering that he forgave his mother’s adultery.

The man with handle @Vhoyde disclosed that he recently discovered that his mother cheated on his dad before he was born, and his dad forgave and accepted her back.

According to him, this has changed his perception of his dad because he was too soft and should have dumped his mother for cheating.

He averred that a woman should never be forgiven for cheating because it is worse than a man doing same.

Popular Nigerian actress Ini Edo has remarked that if the federal government provides the entertainment sector the attention and support it needs to prosper, it will significantly influence the economy.

The thespian said this during an interview with the Punch when asked to expatiate on her comment that the film industry is a doorway to Nigeria’s developmental problem.

According to her, despite the entertainment industry being the highest revenue-generating industry in the country, some of the major challenges included inadequate public funding and a lack of the right structures.

In her words;

“It is one of the highest revenue generating industries in the country. It provides employment for millions of youths, not to mention the number of people taken off the street, and the huge investments. If only the people (in leadership positions) understand what the movie industry can be to Nigeria’s economy, I think the government will see to it that the right structures are put in place, so that the sector can thrive.
It is one thing to see (potential); it is a different ball game to do something about it. Imagine me having a production like Shanty Town, and I had to fund it myself. There was no support from anyone. The poor electricity supply is a problem, and the cost of production is very high. There is no way that it favours one.
I mentioned the government part of it. Another aspect is funding. Funding seems to be a big challenge in the industry but I think things are changing because people can actually work up to one and say they want to invest (in the industry).
A couple of people have said that to me in recent times since Shanty Town was released. What that means is that if we keep improving and growing as an industry, funding would become less of a challenge.”

The governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emiefele, has stated that the CBN would not be utilized to frustrate the next general elections.

Emefiele made the remarks at a meeting with Mahmood Yakubu, chairperson of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), at the CBN offices in Abuja on Tuesday, February 7.

Yakubu stated during the conference that while most election-related service providers are paid electronically, there are some important areas where cash payments are required, such as transportation and emergency circumstances.

In response Emefiele said,

“This issue of paying logistics for people who are going to be transporting election materials to wards, certainly I give it to you that because we regard the INEC project as an urgent national assignment, it cannot fail.
The central bank will not allow itself either to be used or to be seen as an agent that frustrated positive outcome of the election.
If you require cash to pay some of your service providers, we will make it available to you.

Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has corrected netizens for making claims and praising Tems as the first Nigerian woman to win a Grammy award.

Recall that Tems was nominated in the ‘Best Melodic Rap Performance’ and ‘Best Rap Song’ and won the ‘Best Melodic Rap Performance’ category on Sunday night, at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles.

Reno Omokri, however, has refuted claims that Tems is the first Nigerian woman to win the award, stating that Nigerian-British singer Sade Adu has always identified herself as a Nigerian.

According to Reno, Sade has spent 40 years promoting Nigeria and it would be wrong to give her credit to Tems.

A video of a heavily pregnant woman at her traditional wedding ceremony has elicited mixed reactions on social media.

The pregnant bride, who appears to be due at any moment, looked stunning in her traditional attire as she danced towards her groom during the ceremony held at Nando Community, Anambra East Local Government Area of Anambra State.

In the video which has gone viral since it was posted on TikTok by @milliechinenye, the bride was captured dancing with her massive baby bump in the presence of her family and in-laws who came to pay her bride price.

Another part of the clip showed the bride flanked by her bridesmaids as she carried out the activities expected of a bride during her traditional marriage rite.

The video has however sparked a barrage of comments on the video-sharing platform as netizens argue that the ceremony should have been postponed until after she put to bed.

Others revealed that in their culture, a groom is not allowed to pay a woman’s bride price while she is heavily pregnant.

American influencer, Juice Gyal has claimed to be in a relationship with popular Nigerian singer Damini Ogulu, better known as Burna Boy.

The curvy internet personality made this disclosure during a recent question-and-answer session with her fans and followers on her Instagram page.

During the session, a curious fan asked Juice Gyal if she was dating the “Last Last” crooner, and she gave a positive response.

“Are you dating Burna Boy?” the fan asked.

To corroborate her claim, Juice shared a video of herself chilling at the VVIP section of the African Giant’s concert in Switzerland in December last year.

This comes months after Burna’s relationship with his much-publicized girlfriend, British rapper Stefflon Don, hit the rocks.

A while ago, Stefflon Don, a British rapper who previously dated popular Nigerian singer, Burna Boy, threw a massive shade at him.

Recall that Stefflon Don and Burnaboy who is being managed by his mother, Bose Ogulu, were in an amorous relationship for two and a half years before parting ways in 2021.

Months after their split, Stefflon took to her TikTok page on Friday, November 11, to share a video which seems like an attack on the self styled ‘African Giant’.

In the video, the singer was seen dancing energetically to a TikTok sound with the caption, “When he is a man and not a mummy’s boy”, insinuating that she would be overjoyed if she meets a prospective suitor who is not a mummy’s boy.

It’s no news that Burna Boy has a close relationship with his mother and they travel and attend shows together because she’s his manager.

Though Steff didn’t mention Burna Boy’s name, netizens are of the opinion that she was throwing jabs at him.

UK-based Nigerian pastor, Prophet Tomi Arayomi, has averred that the greatest cause of problems in modern marriages is not adultery.

The clergyman made this submission on Twitter on Monday, February 8, while stating that phones are the leading cause of decay.

According to him, if couples spent as much time together as they do on their phones, marriages would be more successful.

“The greatest decay of the modern marriage today is not adultery, it?s the phone! If we could give our spouses as much touch as we give our phones, our marriages would be healthier!”, he tweeted.

Oyewole was said to have falsely published and posted his obituary on a social media platform after he sent a fake bank alert to his creditor, Boyede Emmanuel.

He was charged with acquiring money falsely while promising to repay it within seven days.

He was also accused of falsely publishing and posting his obituary on WhatsApp after sending a bogus notice to an account, although knowing full well that he did not have such a sum in his bank account.

Oyewole was accused of threatening the complainant over the phone with the purpose to intimidate him and acting in a way that was likely to provoke a breach of the peace by stripping nude in front of the complainant’s residence.

Oyewole, on the other hand, pled not guilty to the accusations brought against him.

Netizens have been thrown into a frenzy after a Nigerian lady took to social media to out her boyfriend who she says got married days after she saw him off to the airport and hours after she spoke to him on the phone.

The lady took to her TikTok page recently to share a montage of loved-up moments featuring the both of them. She also shared screenshots of comments her alleged boyfriend dropped on her photos on Facebook to prove that they were indeed dating.

However, she captioned the video, “Definition of devil in human. Fear men”

She also wrote in the video,

“So I escort [sic] man reach airport nor know say he Dey go plan marriage men !!!!”

In other news, a viral video has captured the moment a new mom declined to hold her newborn baby shortly after giving birth.

In the video, a nurse brought the baby to the new mother in the hospital ward just moments after what is presumed to have been a stressful labor, but she refused to touch or hold the child.

While one would have expected her to take the baby from the nurse and cradle, she used her hand gesture to tell the nurse to still keep the baby.

Popular American disc jockey and rapper, DJ Khaled, has once again expressed deep admiration for Nigerian sensational singer, Temilade Openiyi, professionally known as Tems.

In a recent interview, the record producer expressed his desire to collaborate with Tem, praising her unique talents and originality.

DJ Khaled described the Grammy Award winner as being pure and noted that her music comes from her heart.

A video that captures the moment bankers from an unnamed Nigerian bank scaled a fence to flee from disgruntled customers has gone viral.

This comes in the midst of a cash scarcity crisis that has plagued the country since the redesign of the naira notes.

It is no news that Nigerians have been experiencing cash shortage as the Central Bank of Nigeria pushes to replace old naira notes with newly designed currency notes.

This has left many stranded and some have been forced to pay a 10% fee to withdraw money from POS service points in some parts of the country.

Several videos of bank customers causing a scene in banking halls as they demand for their money have also gone viral on the internet.

Amid the chaos caused by the cash-strapped economy, some bankers were filmed scaling a fence to run away from angry customers.

The bank officials were seen climbing a barb wired fence to escape from the bank premises in the trending video, which was allegedly filmed in Delta state.

A video of popular reality star, Uriel eating “swallow” with a glove has caused a huge stir online.

The former Big Brother Naija housemate and chef recently took to her Instagram page to share a video of herself devouring a plate of what seemed to be amala and ewedu soup.

In the video, Uriel, who had artificial nails on, ate her meal while wearing a nylon glove on her hand.

Many Nigerians found the idea of using a glove to eat weird and did not hesitate to drag her.

The excited actor took to Facebook to share the good news with his fans and followers, while showing off his American passport.

Speaking with so much elation in his voice, Dikeh said that becoming a US citizen is not a small feat and that having a US passport is like having a “visa to heaven.”

He added that he would be leaving everything behind in Nigeria, including his family, to focus on his new life in the United States.

According to him, his wife would take care of their children in Nigeria while he goes to hustle abroad.

He also vowed never to return to Nigeria after relocating finally, and anyone who sees him anywhere in Nigeria should bill him.

Nigerian singer, Korede Bello has revealed why he dumped music at the peak of his career to pursue a degree in mass communication.

Recall Korede Bello, best known for his hit single “Godwin,” came into the limelight in 2014 with the release of his globally successful hit song “Dorobucci.” He signed a record deal with Don Jazzy’s Mavin Records in 2014. At the time, Korede Bello was indeed a force to reckon with in the Nigerian music industry, as his songs topped many music charts across the country.

However, at the peak of his career, Korede Bello returned to school to pursue a degree in mass communication.

Speaking on why he dumped music at the peak of his career to return to school in a recent interview with The New Telegraph, Korede Bello said,

“I love education, not so much traditional education, but I love to learn how the world works and how the human mind operates. So getting a degree in Mass Communication seemed congruent with my profession.

“Writing a headline is similar to writing a chorus. They both have to be catchy and evoke some emotional reaction. Music and news are both languages of emotional connection. So, it is a good thing to be educated on your passion. I have observed that you can be the most famous or richest person on earth and still be unhappy or unsatisfied on the inside.” He said.
