Popular Nigerian singer, Iyanya, has bemoaned the level of “hate” in the Nigerian music industry.
Taking to his Twitter handle on Wednesday, November 23, the “Kukere” hitmaker said a lot of his colleagues pretend to care, but it’s all “fake”.
His words,
“If anybody calls you “my blood” in this industry, ask him red or white blood lol. Y’all say what you don’t mean. Too many fake people in this game.”
In other news, a serious altercation ensued between popular Afrobeat singer, Yemi Alade, and a troll who berated her music on microblogging platform, Twitter.
The drama started after her junior colleagues, Buju BNXN and Ruger, fought for the umpteenth time over who has more hit songs.
During the fight, Ruger seemingly accused BNXN of paying huge sum of monies to promote his songs even though people don’t like them.
This infuriated BNXN and he in turn accused Ruger’s record label boss of using ‘streaming farms’ to increase his numbers on music streaming platforms.
Reacting, another singer, Blaq Bones, jumped on the conversation and said, “all of you using streaming farms would be exposed soon. awon hushpuppi”.
It was at this point Yemi Alade waded into the controversial discourse, saying, “Never saw a ” realler ” tweet! Somebody pls frame this tweet for me. I want to hang it on my wall”
However, the self-styled ‘Mama Africa’ got caught in a serious clash with a troll who criticized her songs, calling them ‘nursery rhymes’.
“You can try writing good hit songs and not your nursery rhymes”, the troll wrote.
In response, she said, “Sing your own abeg. Make you see say eh dey easy. Poet”
The troll didn’t back down and fired back at Yemi Alade saying,
“I can show you music that is way better than yours, it just because you have the right platform. So dont feel you are too good”
Yemi Alade felt offended by the fan’s statement and lambasted him for berating her years of hardwork.
“Thunder go locate you if you don’t stop this rubbish. I have been on the Road for 7 years. I REPEAT GET YOUR FACTS RIGHTS. THIS IS MY JOB. IT IS NOT A GAME,” the angry star wrote.
Godwin Madu, the brother of late gospel singer, Osinachi Nwachukwu, has given a heartbreaking account of how the singer’s husband, Peter Nwachukwu, prevented her family from taking care of her.
Speaking at the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja, Godwin recounted how Peter physically and verbally abused the singer, who died on April 8 2022 from injuries she allegedly sustained while being assaulted by her husband.
Godwin said Peter didn’t only subject Osinachi to perpetual fear but also disrespected and abused their mother, himself (Godwin), and her twin sister. According to him, Peter once called Osinachi’s mother a witch and sent her packing while she was sick.
While being led in evidence by the prosecution counsel, Godwin added that when Osinachi was hospitalized, Peter prevented her family from seeing her and used a security guard to send him out when he insisted on seeing his sister.
Read the full account below,
“In 2019 August, my mum was sick, Osinachi begged Peter for my mum to come over, but he refused. Then Osinachi went to Pastor Enenche’s wife, Becky, of Dunamis Church, to prevail on Peter to allow Osinachi’s mum to come down to Abuja for treatment.
So, Becky met with Peter and begged him, before he accepted. Then when she came down to Abuja. The first day Peter sent his son, Ebube, to go get water for him with a cup. When he went to get the water, as a child, the water spilt from the cup. Peter beat Ebube mercilessly, just because the boy made a very little mistake.
When my mum heard his cry, she started telling Peter that he should take it easy on him, that he is a child and mistakes were part of their learning. I was there listening to my mum, and the next thing Peter did was insult my mum, calling her names that she was a witch and that she wants to scatter his family.
When he was saying all those things, my mum kept quiet and didn’t respond. The next day my sister was in the kitchen cooking, and she called on me to come and assist her. I was in the kitchen helping her to cut onions, Peter then came to the kitchen and asked what I was doing there. My sister said to him, please allow him he is helping me. He started insulting my sister, calling her names. That day, he said to her ‘you know how I used to be to you,’ in my presence for the first time.
Then the second day, he did the same thing, I was in the kitchen helping my sister. He told her that I have warned you several times not to allow this your useless brother inside my kitchen. Then my sister said to him, there are so many things to do in the kitchen. He repeated the same words, ‘you know how I used to be to you,’ in my presence for the second time.
The next day, I was in the kitchen helping my sister wash the plates, and he repeated the same words to my sister. When he said it, I was very angry that very day, I said to Osinachi what does this man mean by these things he is saying, he heard what I said and started insulting me.
On the fourth day, I was with my mum in the room where she was when I was going to the kitchen, I saw him, he raised his hands to hit my sister Osinachi, then I said if you try it. My mum heard my voice and she called me, Peter started insulting me again.
The next day, he chased me and my mum out of his house. I called Osinachi’s twin sister, Amarachi, and I told her what happened. She called one of her Delta woman friends, it was the woman that came and picked me and my mum.
It was in that woman’s house that we stayed for one month until she completed her treatment before we both went back to Enugu. Then I came back to Abuja, I started my music stuff then when I go to church on Sunday, that is when I normally see my sister (Osinachi) and whenever she’s talking to me and notices the presence of Peter, she will be afraid, she will quickly leave and tell me ‘later.’”
Speaking further, he said,
“For years, it kept happening like that until March, this year, when my sister was sick, it was through my mum that I knew that my sister was sick. My mum said to me that I should go and find out what was happening to Osinachi. I went to their house, I knocked and knocked, Ebube came out, the first son. When he came out, he now asked Ebube who is that, Ebube said it was uncle Godwin. He told Ebube to tell me that I should go.
Then the next day, my sister was in the hospital, he never wanted to tell me that my sister was in the hospital. My sister cried and begged him to send the address of the hospital so that I can come. When I came to the hospital, I saw my sister in severe pain, holding her chest. I saw a doctor that was with her there. Right there when the doctor finished attending to her, Peter was there too, I wanted to see the doctor, but Peter blocked me and called security to push me out.
The second day, I came to the hospital, he didn’t allow me to come close. Then before the twin sister, Amarachi came. When she came, Peter started asking her what was doing there in the hospital, she said that she came to take care of her sister, and Peter said she should better go back to where she was coming from.
She didn’t say anything to Peter. Peter said we should both leave the hospital, that we should go far to the garden as he was expecting somebody. For more than 20 minutes, we were outside so that he will tell us the person had come and we can go in.
We waited for so long before we now came to the room in the hospital where they were, then my sister Osinachi was begging the twin sister that she should not be angry, Amarachi said okay that there’s no problem. After that, Peter brought out a lab result and gave it to Osinachi and said to her, you don’t have cancer, despite the pain and what Osinachi was passing through right there, she smiled.
Peter went to the toilet to ‘ease’ himself, Osinachi said to us that please we should go and check on the children, that she doesn’t want any torture from Peter again.”
Under cross-examination by the defense counsel, I.A Aliyu, Godwin said,
“If I had told anybody what Osinachi was passing through and Peter gets to find out, Peter will torture her seriously.”
After he was discharged from the witness box, the presiding judge, Justice Njideka Nwosu-Iheme, fixed January 17, 18 and 19, 2023 for the continuation of the trial.

Chichi, who asserted in the chat with Punch that she is the most judged stripper, stated that exotic dancers are usually judged by people and seen as lesser humans in our part of the world.
“I think I am the most judged stripper. When I was a stripper, (I don’t strip anymore), people often came to me for help and at the same time, they would judge me. They did not see us as human beings. Stripping is actually a profession but in my father’s land (Nigeria), it is not seen as one. It was really hard because people were so judgmental.
“Because of that, I cannot talk in public. And, that is why I am uptight; I don’t like expressing myself. Whenever I talk, people are quick to throw ‘shades’ at me, saying what do I know since I’m just a stripper. They feel we (strippers) can do anything for money.” She said.
A Nigerian man has narrated how he was allegedly abducted and almost killed by suspected kidnappers after he boarded a bus at the Lekki-Ikoyi link bridge in Lagos state.
In a viral video, the man who claimed to be a skate coach said he had just finished his training at a facility on the island and then decided to board a bus from the link bridge to Iyana Oworo.
He claimed that as soon as he stepped onto the bus, he noticed a strange odor and figured it was a gas intended to knock the passengers off, so he covered his nose with his handkerchief. He said in no time everyone on the bus was asleep except the driver and his team, who had nose masks on.
“As I got into a bus that called Iyana Oworo, I noticed that there was this weird smell in the bus. Anybody who has been involved in military training or self defense will know gases that knock people off. That was what it was. So I spat in my handkerchief and used it to cover my nose. In about five or then minutes, every other occupants were all asleep asides from the team members who had all brought out their nose masks to cover their nose.” He said.
He said at one point, their leader, who was in front, looked back, and when he noticed he wasn’t asleep, he queried him. The victim said that at this point he knew that the men were kidnappers.
He said he appealed to the men to take his phone, valued at N1.3 million, and his ATM so they could empty his account, as well as a big chain he had on his neck worth millions, but they refused.
His words,
“They said the only place I am going to come down is where they will dagger me and pieces me. Because they saw that I was shouting, they veered off the road and went to the place that leads to Adeniji Underbridge. It was pitch dark. They brought me out and started using knife, cutlass, different things on me. I am fortified. I am an african. So when they saw that the stabbing attempts, that the knife was not entering…about three of them held my neck, another two held my hand to the back, they put knife on my neck to try and slash my neck and slaughter me but it wasn’t penetrating.
I heard their leader telling them in Hausa that they should lie me down and use their boot to crush my head.. About three of them were wearing army uniforms. About six of them held my hand and legs, two were using their boots to hit my eyes, hit my nose, they just wanted to knock me out. After some minutes, I just realised I was getting dizzy and I was about to faint and once that happens, these people will take me and do whatever they want.
So I reached out for my bag which was on the floor and nobody noticed. I took out the knife and I started waving it in different direction so it cut one of them in the tummy. His tummy got bursted, another one in the eye and they started bleeding profusely. Their leader was now like they have gotten the remaining ones who are asleep, let them carry them and deliver them and that they should leave me”.
He said he was eventually abandoned by the kidnappers, who left with the remaining passengers.
However, the spokesperson of the state police command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, when contacted, said that there were no reports of such an event.

Have you ever paused to wonder why the first thing a woman would do when you give her flowers is to smell them? I’ll tell you why: it is simply because women love good scents.
Nigerian women like other women across the globe have a great relish for good scents. Just like they smell flowers and of course smell cheating men from across a room, a Nigerian woman can be drawn by the type of fragrance a man wears. It is the first thing she’ll notice before she even raises her head to check if you’ve got a beard or not. We know that men are so busy with work, cryptocurrency, growing beards and football that they sometimes neglect how they smell.
I mean, women are attracted to good-looking men with well-paid jobs but they’re even more attracted to men who smell nice. So, whether you’re going on a first date, trying to boost your self-confidence or trying to get the attention of a particular woman, you would need the kind of scent that would swing her head towards your direction and when you finally do get her attention, it’ll have her clinging to you for the rest of the date just to savour the fragrance.
This is why we’ve decided to make your job pretty easy by giving you a list of 10 signature perfumes that can attract Nigerian women.

Popular media personality,Eni Adeoluwa has revealed that he spends ₦22,000 to have his haircut at a barbing salon in Lagos.
Eni made this disclosure in a post shared via his Twitter page after discovering that he could spend the same amount on home service from another salon.
Bewailing the comfort he could have enjoyed with 22k at the other salon, Eni wrote,
“My salon charges 22K walk-ins for my haircut, and I just found out I could have been getting that for home service in another place. I’m crying!
Anyway sha, they used to give us biscuit and tea when we cut our hair, maybe it’s the food that makes me go back there.”
However, some netizens weren’t buying it at all and accused him of lying about paying 22k for a haircut because it’s too expensive, regardless of the location of the salon.
Responding to the negative comments, Eni said he also dyes his hair at the salon so the payment is not for a haircut alone.
“Wait o! You guys, I dye my hair when I go to the salon, so it’s not just the cutting; to be fair, that’s the relative price they charge for it. I’m just saying I could have been getting that at home instead of going to the salon,” he wrote in a follow-up tweet.

Nigerian clergyman, Gospel Agochukwu, has taken to Facebook to advise Christians to treat their pastors with honour and respect.
Citing an example, the founder of Shekinah Arena Gospel Ministries, Port Harcourt, explained that his wife knows when to switch from calling him ‘baby’ to her ‘father’, and his mother once knelt down to welcome him to the shock of many.
According to him, some people don’t partake of the grace on their pastor’s life because they don’t treat their pastors with respect.
He added that people should not make the mistake of being too familiar with their pastors because there’s a thin line between familiarity and functionality.

“MY WIFE KNOWS WHEN TO SWITCH FROM CALLING ME MY BABY TO MY FATHER. FROM MY HUSBAND TO MY MAN OF GOD. TO THOSE WHO ARE FAMILIAR WITH US WHAT WE WEAR IS CLOTHE, BUT TO SOMEONE ELSE IT IS CALLED MANTLE. THERE WAS A DAY MY MUM KNELT DOWN TO WELCOME ME TO HER OFFICE AND HER COLLEAGUES ASKED HER NOT TO DO THAT AGAIN BUT SHE SAID I AM HIS MOTHER PHYSICALLY BUT HE IS MY SPIRITUAL FATHER. SHE TOLD THEM HOW SHE GAVE BIRTH TO ME IN A CRUSADE GROUND AND HOW A DOVE ENTERED THE CHURCH ON MY CHILD DEDICATION DAY. FROM THAT DAY HER COLLEAGUES BECAME CONVERTS TO PARTAKE IN MY ANOINTING. THEY BEGAN TO TESTIFY FROM MY PRAYERS.
Mathew 10: 41 ” He that Recieves a prophet in the name of a prophet receives the prophets reward”. The mode you recieve your prophet is to the extent you are made. When you recieve a prophet in the name of your brother you recieve a brothers reward. If you recieve him in the name of colleague you recieve a colleagues reward. If you recieve him in the name of your husband it is husbands reward you must get. This is why it seems asif oils of Men of God dont Have expression on the lives of certain people it is because of the mode and methods they recieved it. There is a thin line between familiarity and Functionality. You dont speak about encounter you manifest encounter. Any encounter you have energy to explain did not penetrate you. Dont make the mistake of See Finish so you will not be soon Finished. Once God gives a man an office dont relate with him on the physical pedestal.. He is your classmate, friend, colleague but God has distinguished the individual to be a spiritual blessing to you. You know him too well doesnt mean you shouldn’t celebrate him; sow to him or pray for him.”

Founder of Chess in Slums Africa, Tunde Onakoya has revealed that he has been battling with a bone condition called Avascular necrosis for 27 years.
Taking to Twitter to share a lengthy vulnerable writeup, Tunde said the ailment began when he was 9-months-old after he received a bad injection from a nurse.
He said he couldn’t treat it properly for years because of financial constraint and lived with the risk of losing the use of his legs.
Tunde said he finally had the courage to do a pelvic Xray on Tuesday, November 22, and the result was bad.
He said he would need to undergo a full hip replacement surgery and have decided to take a break next year to undergo the procedure.
His lengthy tweet read;
Yesterday, I finally found the courage to confront a pain I’ve lived with all my life. This could fundamentally change everything but it’s an important first step towards recovery. It all started 27 years ago.
One of the things we don’t talk about is the fear of confronting what may be a worsening health condition. We ignore the pain and tension building up in our bodies because we’re afraid of what we might find. Instead, we opt for blissful ignorance and hope for the best.
I have done this more times than i care to admit… For 27 years, i have lived with excruciating pain in my right leg. I wasn’t born this way but something happened that changed the trajectory of my life.
Shortly after I was born in 1994( i was 9 months old), I got really sick. My mom described it as a chronic case of measles. This came at a time when my parents struggled to even put food on the table. My Dad’s car spare parts shop in Eko had just been demolished by the government.
There was no money to take me to the hospital and as my condition worsened, my mum had to take me to a local nurse who gave me a bad injection without proper diagnosis. First mistake. With time I got better but my mum noticed something odd after the first few weeks of recovery.
I had started walking as a baby before I fell sick but after recovery, I stopped walking. This was strange as I was a very active baby. My parents were worried but weren’t sure what to do anymore as they had spent their entire live savings on paying the nurse for the treatment. My Dad’s elder sister stepped in and took me to Igbobi hospital where they did an xray and discovered that some damage had been done partly due to measles and the bad injection from the nurse. I was immediately admitted and booked for surgery. I spent the next 3 months in Igbobi.I still couldn’t walk properly after igbobi. My mom told me at the time that she used to hawk sachet water at oshodi underbridge with her twin sister, she would carry me on her back for several hours in the sun before we could eat. Now you know why oshodi with time, I started walking again and had a pretty normal childhood until I was about 10 years old. This was when i started feeling extreme pain in my right leg, it was really bad. I couldn’t sleep on most nights and my poor mother could only help massage with Robb and aboniki.
Things had gone from bad to worse for my parents and going to the hospital wasn’t even an option. We never went to the hospital in my entire childhood/ teenage years. It didn’t matter how sick we were, it was always local herbs. This is the reality for most families in Nigeria.
The pain got worse because no one paid attention to what was wrong. I had to find a way to live with it. I have lived with this pain ever since then and I have come to embrace it as a part of my reality. There were nights when I was crippled with pain and contemplated suicide.
Deep down it hurts because now I know that if my parents were Educated or wealthy, maybe they would have handled things differently. They did what they thought was best because they didn’t know any better. Time passed and I became a victim of a tragedy I knew nothing about.
January 6th 2018… On my way back from church, I wanted to cross the road to the other side where I was gonna get a Danfo to my destination. It was a busy road and I could have used the pedestrian bridge but I loved the thrill and rush that came with crossing the highway…I had timed my surge properly and ran half way when I suddenly felt a sharp crippling pain in my leg,I fell in the middle of the road with cars approaching at dangerous speed. I thought it was the end but thankfully there was a guy just behind me,who pushed me towards the culvertHe saved my life and helped me get home. That night, I cried I picked up my phone and started asking questions on Google. I found the experiences of others and discovered that I had a slight LLD condition caused by trauma and ACN(Avascular Necrosis). I went down the rabbit hole.
This was not a Doctor’s report, it was based on my own research. PS: Don’t Google your health problems Everything I read that night made one thing very clear- I didn’t have a lot of years to be strong. With time, there was going to be a serious risk of Arthritis, scoliosis etc.
It was a condition that could be fixed with surgery but it was going to cost 40-80k dollars At the time,I was owing the woman selling garri on my street 200 naira for garri that I took on credit. Going to see a Doctor was a pipe dream so I gave up on finding a solution/treatment.
That night fundamentally changed my life. I was alrrady at the stage in my life where I was frustrated by my living condition and was actively planning to japa. It was also around the same time I was thinking about the chess in slums project.
I had to make a decision knowing fully well that I didn’t have a lot of years to be strong. In my head I thought I had maybe 10 years to do something worthwhile before ending up in a wheel chair. On that night I decided to pursue the CIS project with all the strength I had left.
On that night I found something to live for- I found purpose. I wrote down these words- “I’m not sure what the future holds, but for the next 10 years, this frail body will house the greatest spirit humanity will ever know” My pain become my greatest strength.
I was 23 years old at the time and I made the decision to commit the best years of my youth to using the talent of chess that I had and giving it as a gift to other children like me who will grow up in extreme poverty and become victims of a tragedy they knew nothing about.
It’s been almost 5 years now and a lot has happened. I have without a doubt lived my dream of giving children in poverty a fighting chance and an opportunity to find their place in the world again. I took the the road less traveled and never looked back since then.
While I was in Crossriver for the girl child project, I sprained my knee playing football and the pain came back. Finally did a Pelvic xray yesterday and yes, it’s really bad. After 27 years of neglect, there’s a good chance that I’ll need a full hip replacement surgery.
It’s ironical how I’ve taken at least 5 children to get their xray done and paid for their surgery, but never for once thought about actually getting one myself. I’ve always ignored the pain and lived in constant fear of what I might discover. I can no longer live in denial.
I’ll probably need to start speaking to a few Orthopedic surgeons and seriously consider my options for surgery next year. Please point me in that direction if you know any good ones(Nigeria and abroad). My doctor says I need to rest and completely quit high impact activities.
It’s been such a beautiful year with a lot of highs and lows but I’m grateful for the gift of life. It took a lot of courage to share this because I don’t want anyone to feel sad or pity for me. I hope other people who have the same struggle and pain will be inspired by my story.
This pain point is why I seem almost delusional about my dreams and vision for every child-to build a future includes all of them. Poverty has dire consequences, and when they say 120 million Nigerians live in Multidimensional poverty, it’s not just some random survey…
These are actual lives and the ones that bear the most brunt of this are the children who become victims of a dysfunctional health and educational system.
Maybe I’ll need to take a gap year to focus on the surgery, write a book, take on more speaking engagements, share my story. I don’t know. Nothing is certain, but I trust God completely. The God who gives purpose that suits the nature of a man. He’ll hold my hands through this.
Yesterday, I finally found the courage to confront a pain I’ve lived with all my life. This could fundamentally change everything but it’s an important first step towards recovery.
Social media adviser, Daniel Regha has warned Nigerian musician, Ruger to desist from being unnecessarily arrogant or else his career would fail.
The singer had taken to the microblogging platform to shade his colleague and brag about his musical prowess.
He wrote; “I am something. For years now, I have forced my songs down people’s throat whether e sweet abi e no sweet either by too much ads or by paying every influencer to make noise about a song they don’t even like. Or by speeding my song on TIKTOK. WHAT AM I ?”
Daniel tagged this tweet from the singer as unnecessary and proceeded to remind him to get his priorities right or he would lose his career.
In his words;
“Ruger u being unnecessari!y n¤isy nowadays; If u stay on this path, ur music career will fl¤p sooner or later. The fans hyping ur s!lly acts have noth!ng to l¤se, but u do, so get ur priorit!es stra!ght. Focus on making music, at the moment u d¤n’t have a h!t song. Th!nk smart.”
He also made comments about the clash between Ruger and BNXN hinting that none of the artistes was better than the other and that both of them should focus on improving their skills instead.
He wrote;
“Ruger ur recent song “Red Flags” fl¤pped hard despite u bragg!ng a few days before its release, ur old songs also kinda m!d & d¤esn’t have replay value; Buju at the moment d¤esn’t have a solid song, but u are also in the same category. U two upcomers are n¤t improving. No shades.
Ruger thinks he’s a better artiste than Buju, that’s actually funny cos both of ’em are at the same level; They both have a m!d pen game, n¤ h!t songs & are h!ghly ¤verrated. Back in the day artistes let their music do the talking, but nowadays it’s all about cl¤ut. No offense.”

Canada however lost their opening match against Belgium by a lone goal but they sure would be hoping to bounce back from defeat in their remaining matches.
Talented Nigerian singers, Ruger and BNXN formerly known as Buju, have clashed on Twitter over how an artiste should top charts or host a show.
It all started when Ruger who recently dropped two new singles shaded his colleague by saying he has been forcing his songs down people’s throats.
He wrote; “I am something. For years now, I have forced my songs down people’s throat whether e sweet abi e no sweet either by too much ads or by paying every influencer to make noise about a song they don’t even like. Or by speeding my song on TIKTOK. WHAT AM I ?”
Buju decided to drop a subtle jab, reminding him that he had not headlined or sold out any show since he started out as a musician so it was impossible for him to top any charts. “We know why you haven’t headlined any venue at all since you came in the game , not balmoral , not Eko hotel , not Muri Okunola , no even your father’s compound Or should be leave the country? … No headline anywhere? And you’re topping the chart ? Are we idiots? ” he wrote.
Responding, Ruger fired back at Buju to mention five of his non feature songs that would make his sold out crowd go crazy while he mentioned his.
“Buju baby all I need from you now is simple. I need you to list just five songs of yours that’ll make your crowd go crazy at your shows and I’ll list mine. No features, just your songs buju baby I’m waiting” he responded.
