A Nigerian man revealed the shocking way his “girlfriend” informed him and her other ‘boyfriends,’ that she was getting married.

According to the man, his said girlfriend added him to a group which had her other boyfriends and broke the news to them by telling them they “were the ones she didn’t want”.

The man shared in a tweet via his handle,

In 2017 I dated this girl for a year. One night she added me to a random WhatsApp group & said “all of you are the guys I didnt want & its over because I’m getting married next weekend.” She immediately exited & left us getting to know each other.”

In other news, a South African model, Masango Sisanda, has taken to twitter to explain how she broke up with her boyfriend who refused to pick her up from the airport because he was busy working while one of her “persistent persuaders” came to pick her without thinking twice.

Masango believed that her boyfriend not coming to pick her when she requested meant that he no longer cared for her and it was time to call the relationship quits.

Former Nollywood actress and politician, Tonto Dikeh has hinted at finding love again months after her messy breakup from her ex-boyfriend, Prince Kpokpogri, which left netizens buzzing for a long time.

Tonto, a mother of one, made this revelation while reacting to news of her colleague, Nkechi Blessing, flaunting her new lover on social media.

Taking to the comment section of an online blog, Tonto Dikeh applauded Nkechi Blessing for being bold enough to show off her new lover despite how her last relationship ended.

The deputy governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Rivers State, who made this disclosure during an interview with BBC News Pidgin, said she would not be returning to Nollywood after the governorship election.

According to Tonto, she will not return to the movie industry even if her party loses the governorship election in Rivers State.

When asked if she has completely retired from acting, Tonto said, “I don’t like movies like that again. It’s been a long time since I acted on screen, you know.”

A Nigerian lady with the name, Raheemah Mahmud, has defended a bride against trolls who were mocking her for marrying a much older man.

Videos from the wedding of the bride, identified as Hafsah and her husband were shared by an Arewa social media account a couple of days back.

The videos were received with varying reactions as while some people hailed the couple, others mocked the evident age gap.

One user wrote, “Side effect of marrying a “woman-child”. Na you go just dey collect anything and everything wey your eye see. Age doesn’t determine your behavior, your state of mind does. This is sadly needless, un Islamic and distasteful,”

Another wrote, “I thought he was her dad”

“Nobody should come near my dad” another user warned.

And yet another said, “Granpa with no shame is all I see”

Taking to her Facebook page on Saturday, October 8, 2022, Raheemah said people to stop judging others without knowing them.

She also hinted at knowing the bride’s “story”. She wrote on her page,

Nursing mother arrested after abusing her stepdaughter and her husband

A nursing mother who allegedly beats up her stepdaughter, leaving her with welts on her head and all over her body was arrested in Enugu State.

A Twitter user took to their space on the platform to share a video of the injured little girl. According to the user, beating is a normal occurrence and when the child’s father tries to complain, the woman beats her husband too.

A video of the husband with marks of injuries on his body was also shared online.

After the videos were shared online, the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) swung into action and effected the arrest of the nursing mother.

NAPTIP also took the abused stepdaughter into a shelter for the time being.

A 30-year-old lady identified as Sukyama Irmiya, who stole a twin baby from the ward of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH), Bauchi state has sought forgiveness for her crime.

The 14-day-old baby, Ibrahim Mohammed, was stolen on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, by Sukyama who posed as a hospital staff member.

Security agents recovered the baby on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 and arrested the 34 year old suspect.

According to Sukyama, she stole the baby due to frustration from the incessant mockery by her mates and family members of her husband, because of her childlessness.

Looking remorseful while speaking with journalists at the headquarters of Bauchi State Police Command, the woman revealed she regretted her action and preferred death to the shame she brought upon herself by the act.

“I have realized my mistakes, you can only feel what I felt when you find yourself in my precarious situation. Before you know it, it has become a wound in my heart to the extent that I prefer that I am dead by now than stand this shame I am facing now,” she said.

“I am like a walking corpse, I am ready to die now but I demand for total forgiveness from God and everyone hurt by my actions. If I find favour of forgiveness from the parents of the baby, I will be very grateful to God.”

The lady however denied that she was from Dull in Tafawa Balewa LGA of Bauchi State as was erroneously reported when the story first broke out in September.

“My name is Sukyama Irmiya, I am from Kanam LGA in Plateau State. I am 30 years old.” she said, adding that she came to Bauchi to see a doctor over my infertility issue.

“I came to Bauchi to see a doctor and from there I went to the Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH) to see a doctor but I later changed my mind because of the condition I found myself in,” she narrated.

“I thought that even if I met the doctor, it is all about child bearing and I don’t have a husband because I have been chased out of my marriage, so there’s no hope of child bearing,”

On how she was able to take the baby, Sukyama Irmiya stated that,

“I went into the ward and stole a child. I stole the child because I want it, I want to take care of it as my own child, that was the reason I went for a newly-born baby.”

“I had tried adopting one but I couldn’t get one because there was no infant child available at the orphanage I went to. I did not do it with any ulterior motives, I just want a baby so that I too will be called a mother. After taking the baby, I went to the village with the baby.

“I repeat that I did it with the good intentions of raising the baby from the bottom of my heart. I am begging for forgiveness from the parents and other people affected by the act. I want God to forgive me, the authority should be lenient with me. I know that I have offended God, please, forgive me.”

“I went into the hospital confidently, entered the ward and met the woman, I engaged her in friendly conversations and she loosened up with me,” she further narrated.

“I asked her if she had twins and she answered yes, I then asked her, now that you are sick, how are you breastfeeding the children, she told me that she was giving them milk. I asked her if I could take him to see how he looks, and she allowed me to do that.”

“Immediately I took the baby, my heart told me to act as the mother and go. I then told her that I was coming and I just left the hospital and went away with the baby. I followed the main entrance to the main road and boarded a Keke and went to the village called Za’a in Kanam LGA.”

According to reports surrounding the video, the driver travelled with passengers from Abuja and was heading to Warri. After being on the road for many hours, they met some police officers who usually carry out stop and search operation.

The video shows the moment where the driver and a particular armed policeman were having a heated argument, though it is not clear what led to the argument. As can be seen in the video, the driver who was seemingly unperturbed by the armed policeman, threatened to come back to deal with him.

At some point in their argument, the police officer corked his gun but this didn’t stop the driver from making threats. It’s however claimed that the driver is a military officer.

“How my friend was almost kidnapped in Abuja.
His cousin came into town from the U.S and it was all fun until he went to drop him at the airport around 2 am, he boarded around 2:30 am back to the U.S. Immediately he hit the road and other cars were also leaving the airport at the same time.

The road was completely free and dark since the FCT minister decided to keep us in the dark. The other cars from the airport were with him and it was more of a convoy with people he didn’t know, as he was approaching the city gate, he signaled to his intersection which is
Towards Area 1, suddenly one of the cars from the airport overtook him and stopped and his lights went off while the second car was directly behind him, basically, he was locked in the middle of two cars at 3 am in a lonely location.

Immediately he knew something was up and the only option was to climb the high parameters, which he did they tried to shoot his tire twice and they missed, off he goes at high speed with two cars chasing him.

Approaching area 1 roundabout he didn’t know police were stationed at the same spot via stays during the day, before he realized he saw a torchlight flashing and it was too late to step on the brakes, he had to drive with full speed into the ditch.
The two cars chasing him were approaching the spot and didn’t know policemen were stationed there too, he immediately came out of his car in confusion and screaming some people are after me pointing to the cars approaching the police spot before the policemen could understand the situation, both cars zoomed off.

In less than 5mins another man was running towards them on foot from up the bridge, screaming he has just been attacked by the same gang, they were all told to station there until visibility was obvious. Apparently, that gang goes to the airport and tracks people, follows you to town, and kidnaps you. Thank God he was smart enough to escape at city gate, if not wahala for dey”

The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has backed Segun Runsewe’s requests that members of the House of Representatives granted the National Council for Art and Culture (NCAA) the authority to arrest and prosecute crossdressers in the nation as well as to pursue legal action against the producers of Big Brother Naija (BBN) over nudity depicted on the show.

On Tuesday, October 4, Runsewe made the request during an inquiry by an ad hoc committee of the House.

In a statement issued on Sunday, October 9, by its group head, Prof. Ishaq Akintola, MURIC backed Runsewe’s demands and referred to the reality TV program as “devil’s incarnate”

“The Director General of the National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC), Segun Runsewe on October 4 called on the National Assembly (NASS) to give his agency powers to go after BB Naija in order to stop nudity in the reality TV show.

The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) supports Runsewe’s call and we see no reason why the NASS will hesitate to give him all the necessary backing. Big Brother Naija’s reality TV show is the devil incarnate misleading Nigerian youth.

MURIC has been consistent in its condemnation of BB Naija. We can recall two separate statements issued on the reality TV show. On July 12, 2019, we made a statement titled ‘Ban BB Naija’.
Again on Oct. 8, 2020, we issued another statement under the caption ‘MURIC Chides Ogun Governor Over BBNaija Gifts’.

That was when the governor gave a bungalow and N5 million cash to the winner of the reality TV show.
We saw the governor’s action as idolizing immorality and demonizing discipline. We described his action as ‘disappointing, disgusting, misplaced and myopic.

We call on the NASS to listen to Runsewe. It is the voice of reason. BBNaija is forcibly dragging our youths to a world of nudity, debauchery, and shamelessness. BBNaija constitutes a potent threat to every home. It is open rape of our cultures, values, and norms. BBNaija is lactiferous.

The NASS will have its name indelibly carved in letters of gold if it hearkens to the plea made by Runsewe. His appeal has revealed the weakness in our legal system.

A young Nigerian man, identified simply as Faisal Arts, has been applauded on social media after he built a tricycle, also known as Keke Napep, from scratch in Kano.

Photos of the ideation process, design, construction and testing of the tricycle surfaced online recently and netizens couldn’t help but applaud the brilliance of the young man.

It was gathered that Faisal fabricated the tricycle with local steel at his workshop in Kano state.

The photos making the rounds online shows the moment he was welding the steel together before bringing the computer-aided design to life.

A while back, Nigerian billionaire businessman, Obi Cubana, left netizens wondering about his relationship with Big Brother Naija season 7 housemate, Bryann.
The business magnate had taken to his Instagram page on Friday to solicit support for the level-up housemate, ahead of the grand finale on Sunday.

Obi Cubana shared a video of the Imo-born budding singer in his mansion.

In the video, Bryan, who had paid a visit to the chairman of Cubana group in his home, is seen striking a pose with his lion-inspired carpet.

Sharing the video, Obi Cubana expressed hope that Bryann, who he described as his younger brother, emerges as the winner of the show this season and praised his conduct on the show so far.

“Hey kid bro @bryannonly I wish you well as always. You have done exceedingly well so far, and I’m sure you will wear the crown! The world await your arrival with the crown as @bigbronaija next winner! Good luck bro Pls vote my lil bro @bryannonly”, he wrote.

Mr. Felix Otabor, the father of the winner of BBNaija season 7, Phyna Otabor, comments about his daughter’s victory and praises God for using his kid to bring attention to him.

The 67-year-old ambulance driver admitted in a recent phone interview with a reporter from Vanguard that he had never anticipated his child would bring him such a beautiful accomplishment.

“I never believed I would father a child that would put me in the spotlight in my lifetime. My wife and I supported her. In fact, we gave her our blessings before she entered the house. She always carries us along in whatever she wants to do in life.” he explained.

Phyna’s father expressed his gratitude to the show for the joy it brought to his name, he said “I am overjoyed because I never believed I would father a daughter that will make me proud. Since she was announced as the reality show winner, I have received calls from across the country and beyond.

People who know me and those who don’t are all expressing their happiness for my family. My village in Edo State is currently overjoyed with the news of my daughter’s victory at the show.”

When asked how he intended to assist her daughter in making financial decisions, Mr. Felix replied, “We can plan on how to invest the award money responsibly.”

Basketmoth queries EFCC about politicians causing economic disasters.

Nigerian standup comedian and actor, Bright Okpocha, popularly known as Basketmouth has queried the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commision (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa over corrupt politicians who walk freely in the state capital.

The commission recently announced they will do everything to locate, and arrest any person causing economic unrest.
“Yahoo boys came out to protest because the eagle strongly detest their fraudulent interest but EFCC will continue to do her best to locate, investigate and arrest anyone causing economic unrest” the commission posted on her official Instagram page.

Basketmouth took to his Instastory to query the commission on their target seeing as there were a lot of corrupt politicians causing economic unrest.

“Great! This is awesome news and I support it, but what about the ones that caused economic disasters? They’re walking freely in that same Abuja. Charity begins at home is all I’m saying.” he posted on his story.

Kogi State residents resort to Canoes for commuting due to incessant flooding

Kogi State residents are currently suffering one of worst flooding disasters ever experienced in the country.

Houses are submerged, electricity is totally cut off, roads are blocked and it has almost become a full-blown crisis in the state.

In a bid to survive and go about their daily business, Canoes have been deployed to float on major roads in the state.

In related news, The Kogi government says it has begun the distribution of relief items like Vetegable oil, red oil, beans, gari, rice and other food items to flood victims in the nine affected local government areas of the state.

Nigerian comedienne, Anita Asuoha, popularly known as Real Warri Pikin, has made an interesting revelation about the matching fabric, ‘Aso ebi’, worn by guests at Don Jazzy’s mother’s burial.

The funeral ceremony of popular Nigerian music executive, Don Jazzy’s mother, was held yesterday in Lagos, and had a number of top Nigerian celebrities in attendance.

Billioniare Obi Cubana, media personality Toke Makinwa, veteran media personalities Dayo Adeneye, Kenny and ID Ogungbe, alongside rapper Ladipoe, to mention but a few, graced the occasion.

In an Instagram post on Saturday, October 8, Warri Pikin revealed that Don Jazzy gave free Aso ebi to everyone who attended his mother’s funeral on Friday.

According to her, this is the first time in her life that she has experienced anything like this.

She shared a photo of herself showing off how she showed up at the party in the Aso-Ebi and captioned it;

“Yesterday na the first time for my entire life, I wear ‘Aso ebi’ wey I nor pay for. For this country? Ah. As #dukeofspadess call me say clot don ready I say oya send acct number he say, ‘No O! #donjazzy say make no body pay for the Asoebi.”

Nigerian superstar singer, Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid’s third son, Zion, just had his hair cut for the first time since he was born.

A video on the internet showed the adorable moment the Grammy Award winner and proud father of three took 4-year-old Zion to the barbershop to have his hair cut for the first time.

In the clip, Zion sat comfortably at the barbershop as the barber gave his best to give the celebrity son a perfect trim.

Wizkid was also seen filming the entire process. He had his eyes fixed on his boy as he tried to capture every moment of his son’s first hair cut on camera.

The video was shared on Zion’s Instagram page, with the caption, “My FIRST haircut!!”

This comes after a viral video recently showed that apart from being a superstar singer, Wizkid is also a doting dad.

A viral clip captured the moment the singer expressed concern when he couldn’t reach his first son, Boluwatife, on the phone.

Wizkid had put a call across to his first son, Boluwatife’s, phone to check up on him, but the young lad didn’t pick up.

In the video, the Grammy Award winner was in a car heading to an unnamed location with his manager when he put a call across to his son, who didn’t pick up.

When the manager suggested to a worried Wizkid that his son was probably not picking up because he was asleep, Wizkid replied that his son is a rockstar who doesn’t sleep so early.

In another part of the video, the proud father expressed his love for his son.

A young Nigerian lady has celebrated her relocation from Nigeria to the United Kingdom in grand style.

Taking to Twitter, the young lady with the Twitter handle @Mzmolly revealed she threw a relocation party, which she tagged “Japa party,” for herself before leaving Nigeria for the UK.

The elated lady, who has now arrived in Manchester, United Kingdom, shared beautiful photos from the event on her Twitter page on Friday, October 7.

The photos she posted showed the time she was still in Nigeria at the venue of her japa party, which was decorated with balloons, flowers, and signage that read, “We will miss you.” and “Welcome to Molly’s japa party”.

She also shared photos that captured her at the airport ahead of her departure and when she landed in Manchester.

She shared the photo on Twitter with the caption, “God Did”.

Nigerian soldier arrested for selling and hiring guns to kidnappers.

Operatives of the Department of State Service (DSS) have arrested a soldier attached to the Muhammadu Buhari Cantonment in Tungan-Maje, Abuja, for allegedly hiring out and selling guns to kidnappers.

The soldier, identified simply as Nafiu, was arrested last week around Dankogi Park in Zuba in collaboration with members of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria in the area.

DailyTrust reports that the DSS from the Gwagwalada office sought the assistance of the local security group in Zuba to arrest the suspect based on previous arms deal allegations against him.

According to a source, “It was learned that the suspect, in the first deal, had allegedly hired out a gun for a kidnap operation for N300,000. Then in the second instance, they contacted him for another deal and demanded N200,000 which the kidnappers allegedly paid, but he failed to produce the gun.”

The source said when the kidnappers, who had been in DSS custody, made the allegation against the soldier, a sting operation was planned against him.

“So they contacted him for another deal to supply them with AK-47s to buy at the cost of N3 million. We went to the agreed site on the delivery day here in Zuba and took the position. He arrived at the scene in his car to present the arm, and that was the time we came out and caught him with the gun well wrapped.” he added.

An AK-47 rifle as well as a fully loaded magazine with 30 rounds of ammunition were found inside one of the safe compartments of his car.

A video of Erica and Tiwa savage dancing and having fun was posted online by the “Stargirl daily” Twitter account and a Twitter user dropped a comment that did not sit well with Erica.

The final burial ceremony of Nigerian music executive, Don Jazzy’s mother was held in Lagos on Friday, October 7.

The series of events to bid farewell to the singer’s mother, Indian Picolo, who passed away in July 2022, started with a service of song that was held in her honour in Dublin, Ireland, followed by a befitting grand funeral as she was laid to rest in Lagos yesterday.

The event was well attended by the singer’s friends, his colleagues in the music industry, actresses, actors, and his signees.
