A voice note purported to be a conversation between a member of a kidnap gang and a family member of a kidnapped victim has been shared online.
It was gathered that the victims went for a burial ceremony in Isuikwuato local government area of Abia State when they were abducted by the kidnappers.
In the viral voice note, the victim who spoke to his relative first, pleaded with him to find the ransom money at all cost to secure his release.
The victim then handed the phone over to the kidnapper to negotiate with his relative. The family member tried to appeal to the emotions of the kidnapper by saying everyone would die one day, including him (the kidnapper).
However, the kidnapper was not moved by his words and tackled him for telling him that he would also die, like he doesn’t know he has limited time on earth before choosing to become a kidnapper.
The family member proceeded to ask the kidnapper what he wanted and he responded saying, they should pay the ransom otherwise they would kill all the victims.
The kidnapper returned the phone to the victim to speak with his relative and the victim who sounded terrified, was heard saying “Please we are dying here. Biko. Please.’ Please save my life”, amid tears.
When the relative asked for the amount the kidnappers are demanding for, the victim said they asked for N30 million for one Edozie, N10 million for one Bamanganu and N20 million for one Sylva.
The family member was taken aback by the huge sums of money and questioned how he is expected to raise the money.

There was a mild drama aboard an international flight recently when a Nigerian man got up to preach on the plane.
According to a Twitter user, Yomi Kazeem, who claimed to have witnessed the scene as he was also on the plane, he was shocked by the event because he thought such things only happen on commercial buses in Lagos.
Kazeem said as the man was preaching another Nigerian on the plane interrupted him and ordered him to his seat.
The individual allegedly shouted at the man to be quiet and reminded him that the plane was not a danfo, a colloquial name for commercial buses.
Kazeem said, apparently embarrassed, the preacher silently walked back to his seat.
“For the first time in my life, I saw someone preach about Christianity on a plane. [I’ve only ever seen this in public buses in Lagos. It went well for the preacher. Until another Nigerian yelled at him: “Sit down and shut up! This is not a danfo. He sat down – and shut up.” The Twitter user wrote.

An African American mother has taken to social media to lament bitterly after her teenage son squandered the rent money she had been saving up to impress a girl.
According to the displeased mother, who tearfully narrated what happened in a video making the rounds online, her 16-year-old son took $2,000 off her credit card to buy expensive designer items for a girl.
She said she had been saving the money which her son squandered on a girl to pay her rent.
The enraged mother, who tried hard to fight back her tears as they flowed freely, said she had already sent him out and she was considering calling the police to arrest him.
She said she was so furious that she feared she might have done something she would regret in a fit of rage, so she decided to share her ordeal on the internet to calm herself.

A Nigerian lawyer has taken to Twitter to question why young people are in a haste to move out of their parents’ house to live alone.
According to the legal practitioner with Twitter handle @Egi_nupe_, except for marriage or proximity to work, he doesn’t understand why people are eager to leave their parent’s home to start living alone.
He said people who say they want to live alone to avoid overfamiliarity with their parents and siblings are not being logical.
He further stated that majority of those planning to move out want to do so because they want to live an irresponsible and wayward lifestyle without their parent’s knowledge.

Congratulations are in order for former CNN correspondent,Isha Sesay, as she’s set to welcome her first child after two failed IVFs.
The 46-year-old British journalist of Sierra Leonean descent announced the good news in an emotional article published on TODAY.
In the article, she opened up about the events that influenced her decision to have a child on her own.
She said, “If you’d told the 16-year-old me that at 46, I’d be divorced, single and having a baby on my own — by choice! — I’d have shuddered and firmly said ‘no!’
“Back then, I had very definite ideas about the future course my personal life would take, and it didn’t look like this. I imagined something way more straightforward and dare I say it, conventional.”
She said after her marriage ended in a divorce and her mother suffered a catastrophic stroke, it dawned on her that she would greatly regret not having a child
“A brief marriage to a kind man didn’t result in children, and then the year I turned 40, my mum had a catastrophic stroke, leaving me no emotional space to contemplate anything other than caring for her,” she wrote.
“Six years went by and a few months ago I found myself in a subpar relationship with a man who took about 12 hours to reply to all my texts, among other red flags. It was then, in the aftermath of our inevitable breakup, that it hit me: Not having a child would be the greatest regret of my life. And with my biological clock ticking down, if I was waiting for the right man to come along before I did it, well, I might just find myself out of time.
“So, I decided to take control of my life and settle on the bravest and scariest decision I have ever made: to have a baby on my own.
“I had many long conversations with myself and tried to get to grips with questions about what it would mean to not have the support of a partner, both emotionally and financially.
“How would I handle society’s questions? What would being a single parent mean for my child? I still don’t have all the answers, but I decided to take the leap because I refuse to let fear, social conventions or judgment hold me back from seeking this joy.”
She also narrated the challenging medical procedure she went through before getting pregnant, including deciding on a sperm donor and two failed IVFs.
Isha said, “My first IVF attempt was unsuccessful, and I cried for days afterward, before I could find the strength to start the process all over again a few months later
“But with each passing day, I grew more fearful and anxious about my chances of being able to successfully carry a child. Those feelings only intensified when my doctor decided to halt my second attempt mid-cycle because my body was responding negatively to the medication.
With two failed attempts to my name, I approached my third embryo transfer with relatively low expectations. In the two weeks that followed the procedure, my mind raced uncontrollably and I battled the urge to take an early pregnancy test.
“The day before I was scheduled to return to the clinic, I finally caved in and bought a home test because I couldn’t bear a repeat of the hours-long wait before the clinic called with the results. The next morning I got up long before the sun was up, anxiously headed to my bathroom and opened the box. The minutes ticked by and I cycled through a myriad of emotions. When the word ‘pregnant’ flashed up on the tiny screen, I screamed and fell to my knees before bursting into tears.”
The mother-to-be said she is both excited and terrified about the pregnancy, but she has zero regrets.

Halima Hassan, the mother of late reality star, Rico Swavey, has spoken for the first time about the incidents surrounding his tragic death.

The singer, in a video currently trending on social media, averred that a lot of Nigerians have been blinded by religion and not thinking.
He spoke about how members of a certain church in Nigeria contributed to buying a bulletproof car for their pastor.
He said sadly, the clergyman was attacked by unknown gunmen while in the bulletproof car, but he managed to escape, and the church members are testifying that their pastor was saved by a miracle.
Portable urged them to think and reiterated that the bulletproof car saved the pastor and that no miracle happened.

A Nigerian man has jokingly queried his wife for the change in her appearance after she got pregnant with their first child.
In a video serving rounds on social media, the young man is seen looking at old pictures and videos of his wife where she looked slim and classy, and said he abandoned other available women to marry her.
He pointed out how beautiful his wife looked in the throwback pictures and videos, and compared them to what she looks like now, and jokingly bemoaned her current look.
The video showed his wife, who is currently pregnant, gobbling down all the food in sight while sitting on the bare floor. However, she didn’t pay any attention to him as he kept talking, and continued eating her food.
“See the girl that I married; the girl I left all the girls in Federal Girl’s college for. Who is this person? Is this what I ordered?” the man said.

In other news, a South African man, Amen Vincent Mogakane, has taken to social media to cry out after his girlfriend of five months dumped him for a polygamist.
Mogakane, who is utterly distraught by the incident, said the woman he was planning to spend forever with left him for another man who proposed polygamous marriage to her.
According to him, the said girlfriend is so near perfect that he has nothing negative to say about her. He described their five months together as the best moments of his life.

Recall that, Davido, and his fiancée, Chioma Rowland, met the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwui, and his wives, Queen Mariam and Queen Tobi Philips, at an event recently.
The pair met the revered monarch at the wedding reception of Taiwo Afolabi’s daughter over the weekend.

A female herbalist has stormed the house of some of her clients, said to be internet fraudsters popularly known as ‘yahoo boys’, to demand her own share of their loot.
A video making rounds on social media captures the moment the herbalist confronted the young men in their home and demanded to be compensated, otherwise she won’t leave their premises.
According to the herbalist who was cladded in a red outfit with fetish embellishments, the gods told her that the yahoo boys have ‘picked’ money from their ‘clients, and queried them for not informing her about their loot.
However, the young men could be heard saying that they didn’t lie to her but failed to inform her because the money they made was small.

Nigerian youths converged in their numbers at the Lekki Tollgate to mark the second anniversary of the shootings of peaceful #Endsars protesters on October 20, 2020.
At the procession, coffins were carried to honour the memory of protesters who were shot and killed by security personnel at the Lekki Tollgate two years ago.
