A Twitter user has shared a warning from food experts about the use of rotten tomatoes to cook and adverse side effects to health like cancer and immune deficiency.
“‘Stop using rotten tomato to cook, it is dangerous to your health. If is cracked or rotten, throw it away’ – Food Safety Expert warns. Once tomatoes become rotten, they will have microorganisms, mostly fungi, and fungi in rotten tomatoes produce mycotoxins which are deadly and induce cancer, and cause immune deficiency in man and animals” he tweeted.
Netizens did not agree with this study and think only the rich can afford to be selective about the type of tomato they would cook with and believe a poor man cannot really be bothered by a little rot in tomato.
Some seemed to think if our forefathers could survive cooking with rotten tomatoes, then we could too.

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, a celebrated Nigerian author who was recently honored with Harvard University’s prestigious W.E.B. Du Bois Medal, has spoken out about missing President Buhari’s October 11 ceremony to bestow national honors.
Omawumi Ogbe, a Chimamanda communications team member, clarified the situation by telling The Guardian that the author turned down the honor.
“Following the recent conferment of national awards by the President, there have been conflicting reports about one of the announced recipients, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. Some social media users say the award-winning writer rejected the award, while others say she accepted it. The author did not accept the award and, as such, did not attend the ceremony. She, however, did not want to create undue publicity around it, so her non-acceptance was conveyed privately”
President Buhari defended the honors when presenting awards to 450 Nigerians and foreigners, stating that the recipients had distinguished themselves in the service of the country and humanity.

Nigerian singer, Skiibii, has gifted a young Nigerian man who braided his girlfriend’s hair because he couldn’t afford to get her a human hair wig.
The romantic boyfriend and his girlfriend recently went viral after the boyfriend shared a video showing how he surprised his girlfriend with a new hairstyle.
In the video, he asked his girlfriend to loosen her hair because he wanted to take her somewhere, and she obliged.
They boarded a bike to a saloon where he paid the hairstylist to do a simple cornrow for her.
When they got home, the girlfriend wasn’t happy with the work the hairstylist had done, so he decided to braid her hair for her.
Towards the end of the video, he was heard promising to get his girlfriend a wig when he has the money.
The video went viral and caught the attention of Nigerian singer Skiibii, who gave him money to buy a wig for his lover.
The couple have now taken to social media to express gratitude to Skiibii.

A viral video of a bride refusing to say “for richer for poorer” while taking her marital vows has caused a stir online.
The video of the adorable couple exchanging their marital vows at the altar on their wedding day was shared online. However, the bride’s refusal to say exactly what the officiating priest had told her to say elicited reactions.
In the clip, the officiating minister says, “To have and to hold from this day forward, for better or worse, for richer or for poorer.”
When it was the bride’s turn to repeat the vows after the officiating minister, she replaced the poorer with richer, “For richer for richer,” she said.
The moment she said that, the congregation and the minister erupted in raucous laughter at the bride’s antics.
The minister then responded, stating that she loved the bride’s zeal.

Nigerians on social media have trooped to social media to react to the domestic violence episode between popular businessman, Ikechukwu Ogbonna better known as IVD, and his wife, Bimbo, which left her with severe burn injuries.
The incident took place on Wednesday, October 12 at their home in Megamound Estate, Lekki, Lagos, after Bimbo confronted her husband about the frequent beatings she endures from him.
A full-blown fight ensued between the couple which ended in their house being set on fire. Their kids were lucky to have escaped in time but Bimbo was not so lucky as she was badly burnt in the fire and had to be rushed to the hospital.
She was rejected by several hospitals before one eventually accepted to treat her, and she’s said to be in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the moment.
Well, this is not the first time the couple are in the news for domestic violence as three years ago, Bimbo slipped into coma after she was badly beaten by her husband when she was eight months pregnant for their fifth child.
However, on October 4 2020, IVD disclosed that they have reconciled and set aside their differences days after she wrote an exposé detailing how she had been a victim of domestic abuse for 19 years.
Following the incident, she kept dropping subtle hints on her social media page that she was still being abused by her husband.
Just recently in January 2022, Bimbo shared a cryptic note believed to be directed at her husband saying, “I gave you more than I gave myself, so loyal to you that I betrayed myself.”

The 29-year-old reality TV star succumbed to the cold hands of death following his involvement in a ghastly car crash that left him on life support since Tuesday, October 11.
Taking to social media to mourn his tragic passing, his colleague, Alex, in a lengthy post on her Instagram page, expressed her anger at God for failing to answer all her prayers for Rico while he was battling for his life in the hospital.
Alex recounted her last moments with Rico at the hospital before he gave up the ghost, and declared that the bible needs to be edited.
Alex said she had faith and prayed with so much hope that Rico would be back on his feet soon, but yet he died despite all her prayers.
Alex said Rico’s death has left her so broken that she’s struggling to forgive and understand God.
“Patrick, if I didn’t tap you numerous times this morning, call your name, beg on my knees and you refused to say a word to me, I would have said, “don’t worry, it’s one of Rico’s jokes”.
I know you read all my messages so if you see this one, know that your six foot Amazon is broken. I begged you, I begged God, I promised you I’ll stay strong and shed no tear last night. Some nurses have been called out for their lackadaisical attitude toward reality TV star, Rico Swavey, who was admitted to their hospital in Lagos.
In a video making the rounds online, Rico is seen sitting in a chair receiving oxygen as the staff decides how to transfer him to the hospital’s intensive care unit.
A nurse laughed as she heard one of them say, “Oya, make we carry am now go inside.” Another nurse commented, “He is 90% oxygen. Stop making videos, and let’s relocate him instead. You’re filming while someone is in a serious situation.”

American reality TV star,Kim Kardashian has revealed that she once had sex with her ex-boyfriend, Pete Davidson, by a fireplace to honour her grandmother.
Kim made this revelation while having a chat with her grandma, Mary Jo “MJ” Shannon, her mom, Kris Jenner, and sister, Khloe Kardashian in a recent episode of The Kardashians.
Recalling how she got intimate with Pete, 28, in front of a fireplace, Kim, 41, said it happened when they were on a short bae-cation at an hotel in Los Angeles.

Men of the Ogun state police command have arrested a businessman identified as Badejo Ranti for allegedly killing his wife, Afolashade Taibat Adewusi, in her sleep.
It was gathered that the incident happened at their residence in the Mowe area of Ogun state.
A source familiar with the family said that the couple, who had been married for 7 years, had an argument over their children’s school fees.
According to the source, during the argument, the man rushed out of the house furious and later came back that night to find his wife asleep.
Still upset about their earlier argument, he reportedly powered an iron and used it on her body till she gave up the ghost.
Neighbors who had heard the wife scream for help rushed to their apartment. However, the man claimed that his wife died as a result of electrocution.
He was handed over to the police by the neighbors.

“They’ve been married for 7 years and on Tuesday an argument ensued over school fees for their kids. Badejo had stormed out of the house in anger and returned later that night to meet his sleeping wife.
Still infuriated over the argument they had, he powered an iron and used it on her body till she gave up the ghost. We handed him over to the police before irate eyewitnesses took laws into their own hands.”

The 29-year-old reality show star passed away today, October 18, from injuries he sustained in an horror car crash in Lagos.
News of his death has shaken the Nigerian cyberspace to the core with many heartbroken by his unfortunate death.
Ifu Ennada, a fellow housemate of the deceased in the BBNaija double-wahala house, reacting to his death, took to her IG story to question God for letting such a ‘pure soul’ die when there are many evil people who could have died in his stead.
She pointed out that thousands of Nigerians joined their faith together to pray for him to survive, but he still died.
Devastated by his death, Ifu Ennada questioned the existence of God and wondered if he truly answers prayers.
In an emotion-laden post, she wrote,
“Guys, I just confirmed that Rico is gone. I’m crying and my hands are shaking as I type this. I don’t know why God did this. I mean we prayed and begged him, some of us even donated..

A man has reportedly been hospitalized after breaking a leg while running from robbers who wanted to snatch his phone in Lagos.
According to a Twitter user, @olabodeEO who shared the story, the man jumped off the Otedola bridge in an attempt to escape the armed robbers.
Sadly, he broke his leg and was rushed to the hospital where he has been asked to pay N1.2 million for his treatment.
“This guy jumped off Otedola bridge because he didn’t want to part with his phone when robbers crossed him last night. He broke a leg, and was rushed to emergency before being transferred to Igbobi. The first bill just came in – 1.2 million. Plus, he’s in severe pain. Sigh.” The Twitter user wrote.

The officers found the man in a room inside a house situated in Benin street, central part of Kaduna metropolis on Wednesday, October, and a pungent odor was said to be oozing out of the room.
The man whose name was not disclosed has reportedly been eating, sleeping, urinating and defecating in the room for the past twenty years.
The spokesperson of the environmental agency, who confirmed the shocking incident said,
“Today we came to this house in search of beverages that were usually kept in residential houses without proper storage facilities when we saw a naked man locked up in a room,” he said.
“We found that he was in an uncomfortable position. The odour coming out from the room was unbearable.
“Later, we broke the room and brought him out. He was behaving like an animal. It was then we learnt that he was kept in the room for twenty years.
“We also found out he was fed in the room. He urinates and passes his faeces in the same room.
“The Magaji Gari police in the heart of the Kaduna Central area were later invited and they took him away.”

Photos of a Nigerian soldier escorting a Chinese man to a market in Lagos state has stirred an uproar on social media.
In the photos shared online by a Twitter user who spotted them at Ikosi fruit market in Ketu area of Lagos state, the soldier who was armed with an AK-47 rifle is seen with the Chinese national who was buying some fruits.
Infuriated by the total disregard for the Nigerian army, the Twitter user wrote,
“I saw a Nigerian soldier with an AK-47, following a Chinese (in a blue T-shirt) up and down in the market and doing the work of a maid. The Chinese buy and give to the “maid” to carry behind him. The “maid” hurries to the car to offload and comes back to his “oga”. Shame!”

Rico Swavey passed away on Thursday morning, October 13, after he was involved in a ghastly accident on Tuesday.
Alex Unusual, who shared the sad news of his accident on her Twitter page on Tuesday morning, October 11, said that till the time she left the hospital that Tuesday, Swavey was in an unconscious state and doctors were trying to resuscitate him.
Giving an update on his health yesterday, his management announced that he was on life support and his condition was critical.
Sadly, he passed on this morning.

The life of a young Nigerian man has been cut short while he was trying to intervene when he saw a man being kidnapped in Abuja.
The heartbreaking incident took place on Gana Street in Maitama, Abuja, on Wednesday night, October 12.
It was gathered that the yet-to-be identified man saw kidnappers dragging a man out of his car and walked up to them to ask why they were dragging the man.
In a split second, the kidnappers shot him and made away with their victim. Sadly, the good Samaritan died on the spot.

Hushpuppi’s friend, Sikiru Adekoya, popularly known as Pac, in the touching note on Hushpuppi’s third birthday behind bars, said he was writing from a place of hope and pain in his heart.
As Hushpuppi’s verdict draws close, Pac said he believes that he will be freed and they will be reunited soon.
“Dear Rahman, I write you from a place of hope and pain, the hope that as your verdict draws close and a pronouncement kick starts, our reunion is made possible, and the pain that comes with every day knowing that you are in there.
“Rahman, it’s your third birthday behind guard bars, I pray that you continue to find strength, and I pray for peace From within, that powers you into greatness.” He wrote.
Hushpuppi was arrested in his Dubai home in July 2002 for a multi-million dollar fraud committed by him and members of his syndicate, and he is currently incarcerated in the United States.
He pleaded guilty to money laundering on July 28, 2021, and he is waiting to be sentenced.
The sentencing hearing was initially deferred from February 14 to July 11, before it was shifted to September 21, and now November 7.
American Idol season 19 runner-up, Willie Spence has passed away in a fatal car crash at the young age of 23.
The talented singer, whose cover of Rihanna’s Diamond went viral years back, crashed his 2019 Jeep Cherokee into a parked semitruck in Marion County, Tennessee, on Wednesday, October 13.
Moments before his sad demise, the talented singer shared a heart-rending of him singing a gospel song titled “You Are My Hiding Place” in his parked car.
In the video he posted on his verified Instagram page, the American idol finalist tilted his head sideways, shut his eyes tightly and sang the Christian song passionately.
Sadly, the heartbreaking news of his death was announced hours later by Katharine McPhee in a post shared on her Instastory.
The singer, who performed with him during American Idol, said “life is so unfair and nothing is ever promised.”
The organizers of American Idol also paid an emotional tribute to him, saying they are devastated by his death.
Sharing a photo of Spence performing on stage, they wrote,
“We are devastated about the passing of our beloved American Idol family member, Willie Spence. He was a true talent who lit up every room and will be deeply missed. We send our condolences to his loved ones.
Nigerian activist, Comrade Israel Joe, has taken to Facebook to air his reservation about reunion parties organized by old students of a school years after graduation.
In a lengthy post shared on Thursday, October 13, Joe said most Old Students Association reunion parties have become places where married men and women cheat on their spouses with their former ‘crushes’.
In the post titled: “Old Students Association Reunion Party and Silent Sacred Immorality”, Joe wrote,
“There is nothing wrong in organising old students get together party especially the ones done at night, but, I can confidently tell you that it sometimes becomes a place where marital vows are murdered and a place where married men and women conveniently cheat on their spouses,” he wrote.
Young people get entangled for the first time ever in their lives in school settings, especially secondary school. Most times they become emotional and attached to the one they crush on whether male or female. These crushes grow up to realise there are more to life than those professed emotions back in secondary schools.
Forward to after they might have been married, boom… there is an old students get together party sometimes at night. They contribute money and even go to the extent of lodging almost all the rooms in the hotel for those who would not return and may want to rest or stay over. The married women tell their husbands that they are putting up with their former female classmates and they are granted permission sometimes by their unsuspecting spouses vice-versa.
They get there to meet most times with their old time crushes who will in no time open discussions of how life has been and how they miss their school days.
Trust me, old emotions come up and in no time they would first disagree being in the same room with their male crushes but there is something about emotions you should understand. After they must have drank a little and interacted briefly, emotions would go further to suspend rationality, objectivity and personality. They signal going to the room for just mere talk.

Shortly they imagined how much they have missed themselves and the fact that, what childhood kept away from them has been presented enclosed in a room.

For the man, he feels good to have fulfilled a long time dream and to the woman she feels bad having to make that mistake. Sometimes some women won’t feel bad especially when the man at home treats them like trash. They quickly open up communication lines to this crush where they feel secure to have it with anytime.
One thing is certain. The woman will not tell her husband what happened because he might forgive her but will never have her in his house anymore. Israel Joe isn’t condemning old student reunion parties especially the one of secondary schools but one should be watchful and careful for too many things happen there not meant for the eyes to see nor pleasant for the ears to hear.
They call it reunion but there is no federal minister, governor, senator or great business man or woman present, who would want to help others or their spouses. What are they really reuniting for? The reality TV star, who in a recent interview addressed her recent outburst on Twitter, said she reacted in that manner because she had been receiving death threats from fans of the unnamed housemate because of her relationship with Groovy.
Recall that Phyna recently took to her Twitter handle to call out her haters and those that have been sending her unsolicited DMs to express their displeasure with her.
She tweeted how she felt without thinking of the consequences or backlash she’ll be getting from her fans but eventually deleted them after people called her out for behaving in an uncultured manner.
Speaking during the interview, Phyna said she regretted responding because she later realized it was an opportunity for the certain housemate to trend.

In a new development, it has been revealed that Big Brother star, Rico Swavey has passed away.
This comes after it was revealed that the reality TV star was placed on life support after he was involved in a ghastly motor accident.
Rico Swavey’s management had earlier taken to Twitter to give an update on Rico’s health.
“Hello everyone, Rico Swavey is not disposed to handle his socials right now as he was involved in a ghastly accident and is currently on life support. While his situation is critical and doctors are on him, We implore your support and prayers.” they tweeted.
However, in a new development, his friend and colleague, Tobi Bakre took to his Twitter page moments ago to announce that he has passed away.
Big Brother Naija double-wahala housemate, Rico Swavey, has passed away.
Yesterday, his management had announced that he was on life support and his condition was critical.
“Hello everyone, Rico Swavey is not disposed to handle his socials right now as he was involved in a ghastly accident and is currently on life support. While his situation is critical and doctors are on him, We implore your support and prayers.” they tweeted.
Sadly, he could not make it back to full health and he passed away.
His colleague, Tobi Bakre shared the sad news in the early hours of Thursday, 13th October, 2022.
