This comes months after the estranged couple were entangled in a custody battle for their children, and the mother of four accused the politician of using his power and influence to keep her sons away from her.

Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has tendered a public apology to his colleague, Davido, weeks after shading him on social media.
It would be recalled that the pair seemed to have fallen out during the Osun gubernatorial election in July as they both supported opposing parties, resulting in a clash of interests.
While Davido supported his uncle, Ademola Adeleke, who ran and won on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Portable campaigned for Gboyega Oyetola of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

“Our laws forbid the use of religion to campaign” – Deji Adeyanju says as he calls on INEC to disqualify candidates visiting churches and mosques
Nigerian activist, Deji Adeyanju has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to disqualify candidates who visit churches or mosques to seek public support and vote ahead of the 2023 general elections.
Taking to his Twitter page on Tuesday, August 30, Adeyanju said Nigerian law is against the use of religion or tribe to campaign, and INEC should take action against candidates violating the law.
The social media activist tweeted,
“2023: INEC should disqualify candidates that go to churches or mosques to campaign or solicit for support/votes. Our laws forbid the use of religion or tribe to campaign.”
A while ago, Deji posed a question to Nigerians about the way forward for the country asides from relocating abroad.
Taking to Twitter on March 16, Deji said he is tired of criticizing the Government over the current happenings in the country including the increase in the price of fuel, naira falling, and so on.
According to him, Nigeria is slowly becoming a failed country and Nigerians need to come up with a solution to mitigate the decline of the economy.
He wrote,
“Nigeria is almost a failed nation. Things weren’t this bad during the civil war or the colonial era. What can we do aside JAPA to halt the decline of the economy because I’m sincerely tired of criticizing?
Criticism won’t enable me buy diesel at N110 per liter, pay less electric tariff yet no light or buy dollar at N185.
Let’s not even talk about the inflation or skyrocketing prices at the market. Presidential aides and those paid with tax payers’ money to come up with solutions are now comparing failure rates during the previous Govt and this one.”
Two Kwara State University students found dead and naked in their hostel room
Two students of the Kwara State University (KWASU), identified as Tobiloba Daniel and Arewa Abayomi, have been found dead and naked in a hostel room.
The 200-level students were reportedly found dead in Daniel’s hostel room located off campus, and they were both stark naked.
A student of the institution who spoke in confidence to Daily Trust said they grew concerned when the deceased students missed an examination.
The student said,
“We suspect they were lovers and became concerned when they were not seen during an examination and for three days.
“It was when some of their friends got to their hostel room outside the school that they found them dead and naked. We suspect it’s a case of poisoning.”
The Kwara State Police Spokesperson, SP Ajayi Okasanmi, who confirmed the incident, said.
“The information is that the two of them were found dead inside their room and the police were alerted.
“Our officers pulled down the door and they were taken to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) for autopsy. Investigation into the matter is ongoing.”
Meanwhile, the spokesperson of the Institution, Hajia Saeedat Aliyu, when contacted, said there was no official communication on the matter.
Accidental discharge allegedly kills 24-year-old man at a coronation ceremony in Imo
A 24-year-old man, Chibuike Ugwuafor, was allegedly killed by an accidental discharge during a coronation ceremony in Imo state.
According to reports, the deceased was hit by a bullet after someone accidentally fired a shot from a gun during the ceremony.
The deceased will be laid to rest on Friday, September 2, 2022 in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State.
His bereaved sister, Immaculate Ugwuafor, announced the burial arrangement on Monday, August 29.
Meanwhile, family and friends of the late Chibuike Ugwuafor have since taken to Facebook to mourn his tragic demise.
A Facebook user, Ebuka Franchez wrote,

In other news, a Taekwondo athlete identified as Maria Uchenna Raphael, has been killed in a motor accident in Nasarawa State.
Maria, who was a silver medal winner for team Nasarawa in the just concluded Bayelsa Open Taekwondo tournament, was crushed to death by a truck in Lafia, the state capital on Friday, August 26.
The Nasarawa State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, in a statement on Saturday, revealed that Maria had gone to purchase some items from a grocery store along UAC road few hours after returning home from the championship in Yenagoa, which ended on August 24th, 2022.
The statement which was signed by the spokesperson of the ministry, Uche Amos, described the death as an unquantifiable loss, adding that her immense contributions to sports in the state would be sorely missed.

Blessing Newton Abahi became an internet sensation after a clip of her confession at a courtroom surfaced online. She was narrating how her husband cheated on her with several women in their matrimonial home.
While describing how she caught him red-handed on their matrimonial bed, she said, “there were bunch of women, bunch of women surrounded in my room”.
Before long, the rather-humorous sound was repurposed into a soundtrack and became a viral TikTok sound used for funny videos and memes.

Kannywood actress, Safiya Yusuf, has opened up on her battle with depression, online and offline attacks after her nude video leaked online.
In a recent interview with BBC Hausa, Safiyya said she did not release the nude video herself, and accused her friends and associates who have access to her phone of leaking the video.
She admitted to filming the nude video by herself but said she never sent it to anyone. She also said she’s not a lesbian like some people claim.
Speaking on her ordeal, Safiyya, who was suspended from a popular Arewa24 movie series, said she was stoned by an aggrieved person after the video leaked and she was also subjected to cyberattacks, and had to stay indoors for three months .
Her words,
“70 per cent of ladies nowadays have such types of videos on their phones. It is just done for fun, not to go on social media and many ladies do that. I can’t specifically say the person that released the video, but all I know is that it must be one of my friends and associates that take my phone. Because I give them my phone.
“I was deeply shocked when I saw the video and how it went viral all over the world. In fact, when I received the news I could not stand on my feet. I experienced a lot of challenges, people were mocking me. There was a time that someone even stoned me, all because of that video. I had to spend three months indoors without going near the gate of our house.”
The actress further revealed that she almost deactivated her social media accounts after she was heavily criticized online but was dissuaded by her family who told her to take it as destiny.

Nigerian Lady recounts how she met her husband while on a date with her boyfriend
A Nigerian woman has taken to social media to recount how her boyfriend inadvertently helped her meet the man she married.
The woman identified as Millicent Nwanyimarania, who joined the ‘How I met my husband challenge’ on a Facebook page, disclosed that she had gone to a hotel in 2016 with her then lover when she met the man she eventually married.
According to her, the boyfriend left her by the pool bar when her “husband” walked in.
She said she prayed for him to approach her and when he did, he asked why she was sitting all alone.
She said that since he caught her attention, she lied to him that she was waiting for her cousin.
They exchanged contacts, got talking, and are now married.

A groom, identified as Obinna Dieke, and his five relatives have died hours after his traditional wedding ceremony in Enugu.
The Markudi-based businessman and his kinsmen were returning from the ceremony held in the bride’s family house in the Udenu Local Government Area of Enugu State on Friday, August 26, and continued the festivities when they returned to Adani community.
The next morning, none of them came out of the room they slept, causing concerned residents to forcefully open the door, only to find all occupants of the room unconscious with foamy substance coming out of their mouths.
They were immediately rushed to the hospital, where six of the victims, including the groom, were confirmed dead and deposited in a morgue, while eight others are currently receiving treatment.
It’s suspected that the victims died from carbon monoxide poisoning because a power generator was allegedly brought onto the veranda of the house where they stayed while it was raining after they returned home from the wedding.
The younger brother of the groom, Chinedu Dieke, has in a chat with BBC Pidgin, disclosed that the bride, Nebechi, his sister, Goodness, and their mother fortunately survived the incident and are responding to treatment in a hospital.

Pregnant lady approaches doctors at the National Hospital Abuja to seek a buyer for her unborn baby
A 23-year-old pregnant lady, simply identified as Chinaza, has approached doctors at the National Hospital in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, to seek a buyer for her unborn child.
It was gathered that when Chinaza fell pregnant, she left her parents’ house in Imo state to live with her friend in Lagos state.
Her friend’s house was later demolished, and this caused her to be homeless. Both ladies moved to Abuja to stay with their friend’s uncle but were later asked to leave by the landlord of the building. She then decided to visit a hospital to seek a buyer for her unborn child. Punch reports
“A pregnant lady came to the hospital over the weekend and said she wanted to sell her unborn baby. She said she mistakenly got pregnant and left her parents house in Imo State to stay with her friend in Lagos State.
While living with her friend, she said her residence was demolished and they travelled to Abuja to live with her friend’s uncle. She said her uncle’s landlady complained about the number of persons occupying the apartment, and they were later asked to leave.
While wandering around, she said she requested help from a woman she met in Utako, Abuja, and the woman gave her N500. She said the woman told her to come to the hospital to say whatever was on her mind. She has been handed over to the police in FCT. She is still there as I speak.” A source said.
The spokesperson of the FCT police command, Josephine Adeh, who confirmed the incident disclosed that the lady is now in police custody and is being interrogated.

Simi, sister of Ooni of Ife’s estranged wife, Queen Naomi, has hinted at the marital woes her sister experienced in her marriage to the monarch.
Recall that in December 2021, Queen Naomi announced that she has parted ways with her husband, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi better known as the Ooni of Ife.
According to her, she has tried her best to endure and make their marriage work, adding that she smiled through the struggle but now she’s done.
She also told her kinsmen not to associate her with the Ooni or Ife or call her the Queen of Ile-Ife any longer. However, the palace maintained that the royal couple are still married.

According to her, when her mother confronted the jealous friend to find out what substance she drenched her daughter with, she revealed that it was a mixture of bleach, bleaching oil, and petrol.

The lady identified as @Defnyy1 on Twitter, took to the micro-blogging platform to share the aftermath of the procedure.
The lady got her lower back pierced just above her butt and hip region. Sadly, it got inflamed and landed her in the hospital.
Sharing a photo of the pierced back alongside a photo of herself in the hospital, she wrote,

A young lady who was recently accused of stealing passport, diamond earrings and gold has openly debunked the rumours.
In the viral video, the man claimed he picked up a commercial sex worker who charged him N40,000 and that he paid her N50,000 out of his benevolence. He added that he was shocked when in the morning after they had finished playing that he couldn’t find his items(red passport, diamond earrings and gold chain). The lady initially denied but after much interrogation, she surrendered his items which she had hidden.
However, the lady has now made a video where she revealed that none of the things she was accused of is real. According to her, they were making a skit and it was all acting.

Veteran actress Joke Silva has taken to her social media page to debunk rumors of her Husband, Olu Jacobs.
This is the second time in months she is debunking the false report.
In an Instastory post she shared, Joke disclosed that her husband is hale and hearty and is ‘enjoying himself as always in the comfort of his home.’
She also warned those peddling the rumors to prepare for legal actions.
