Nigerian singer and songwriter, Charly Boyhas dropped a subtle hint that his marriage to his wife of 45 years, Diane Oputa, is on the verge of collapse.
In a post shared on Twitter, the 72-year-old singer and political advocate asked Nigerians if they would be surprised if he told them he’s getting a divorce and returning back to the streets.
According to him, he has always been of the opinion that the institution of marriage is hard and it gets harder the longer one has been married.
He tweeted,

The self styled ‘area fada’ who has been married to his wife, Diane Oputa for over 40 years declared that even seemingly happy marriages are not perfect.
Sharing his wedding photos, Charly Boy in his caption opened up that his energy is dwindling and asked for advice on how to stretch his marriage for another 10 years.
According to him, marriages are hard and most people are just managing.
A Nigerian man has averred that a woman’s sincere love for her partner can never be replaced with money, irrespective of the man’s circumstances.
The young man, @TweetOracle, who made this assertion in a post via Twitter, noted a woman who genuinely loves her man cannot be swayed by another man’s affluence.
According to him, no billionaire can snatch a woman who genuinely loves her man.
“When a woman genuinely Loves you, even if you are poor, a billionaire can’t take her away from you”, he tweeted.

A Nigerian man has taken to social media to cry out after his wife allegedly sold his mansion and disappeared with the money.
The disgruntled man in a viral video claimed he traveled and left the house in his wife’s care only to get wind that she had sold the property and fled with the proceeds.
He said he quickly returned to Nigeria and, to his utmost shock, the report was true, as his wife sold the palatial building for a paltry sum of N10 million.
He lamented that after paying the agency charge, lawyer’s fee, N500,000 for community development, and the N9.5 million he spent on the land alone, his wife only received N10 million for the sale of the property and fled with the money.

In a video he shared online, the man captured the moment his ‘controlling’ wife shoved his belongings outside their home and demanded he leave so she could live her life.
Although it is not clear what caused the quarrel between them, the wife continued screaming she didn’t want to do this anymore.
“I don’t want to do this anymore. You can’t be telling me what to do. Get out of this place,” she said as she threw his bags outside the house.

Arise Television broadcaster, Rufai Oseni has tendered a public apology to the appropriate parties after he was convicted for driving on a BRT lane in Lagos.
In the last few days, the presenter has repeatedly been in the news for driving on a lane dedicated to BRT buses in Lagos state and resisting arrest by men of the Nigerian Police Force.
A video showing his altercation with the policemen and how he threatened to call the Governor of Lagos state, Babajide Sanwaolu, on them also went viral on the Nigerian cyberspace.

Following the incident, he was charged to court for flouting Lagos State Transport Law of 2018 and found guilty of the crime after which he was asked to pay a fine of N70,000 before his car was released to him.

“I will like to apologise to all parties over what transpired during the incident with the police when I was stopped while driving BRT bus lane. I dare not lay claims to know it all. Lessons have been learned from this entire episode. This has been a really humbling experience for me.
“I like to use this opportunity to express my gratitude to all those who have reached out to me in the last two days for their guidance and counselling. Thank you, everyone. God bless you all and please let’s continue to strive to make our country a better place for all. I apologise.”

A Brazilian bodybuilder and TikTok star who went viral for his outrageous 23-inch biceps, Valdir Segato, has died at 55 in Ribeirao Preto.
Vladir who was inspired by the likes of Hollywood actor, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and fictional character like The Hulk, injected himself with a life-threatening oil, synthol, for years in a bid to achieve his dream body.
He was reportedly warned by doctors that he might suffer nerve damage, muscle disfigurement or even face amputation if he doesn’t stop using the substance but he continued.
In 2016, Segator, who was a former construction worker, said he even wanted to get bigger.
“They call me Hulk, Schwarzenegger and He-Man all the time and I like that. I’ve doubled my biceps but I still want to be bigger,” he said.
He also dubbed himself ‘Valdir Synthol’ and shared pictures and videos of his physique on his Instagram page.
Sadly, Valdir has passed away after complaining about having shortness of breath. He was rushed to the North Emergency Care Unit (UPA) – a medical facility in the city, but gave up the ghost.
A neighbor of the deceased named Moisés da Conceição da Silva said,
“It was around 6 am, more or less. He came crawling through the back house and came to the front. Then he knocked on my mother’s window, knocked, knocked, then she woke up and he said ‘help me, help me because I’m dying.”
They put him in the car and then the neighbour went to the UPA. He arrived at the UPA, he fell at the reception, having a heart attack. I think he had a heart attack”, Moisés told Brazil’s Globo news publication.
Actor Yul Edochie’s teenage daughter, Danielle, has lashed out at curious Instagram followers asking her questions about her family.

Sidi Aminu Sharif, one of the abducted passengers of the ill-fated Abuja-Kaduna train who regained freedom after over four months in captivity, has narrated his ordeal.
Sharif was freed alongside four other passengers on Tuesday, August 2.
Speaking on his ordeal in captivity at the Kaduna office of Tukur Mamu, Kaduna-based publisher, Sharif narrated how he was accidentally shot by the terrorists on their 85th day in the den.
According to him, efforts made to remove the bullets were unsuccessful. He said the terrorists’ doctor invited to attend to him failed in his several attempts to extract the bullet from his abdomen.
“I am one of the passengers of the train attacked in Kaduna on its way from Abuja. I could remember how it happened when the train was conveying us to Kaduna. As we were sitting on the train, I could remember I praying when we heard a loud sound… I was shot on my stomach in captivity. A doctor tried to remove it but he could not. He used my clothes to manage the blood which flowed to my knees.
“He used gloves and search my stomach to pull out the bullet but couldn’t find, he later used scissors but still couldn’t find any bullet in my stomach. Eventually, he just put bandage round my stomach. Up till now, we didn’t see the bullet. I don’t know if it’s still in my stomach. I hope now that we are free, I can go to the hospital for x-ray if the bullet can be found. The past four months in the terrorists’ den was traumatic. There was no rest of mind, because we were sleeping and waking up with sight of guns.
The people remaining captivity are not in good condition, especially there is a woman who is close to 90 years of age and even children who are in pitiable condition. In fact, we don’t want any of the remaining passengers to spend one more day in the jungle. The government should do whatever it can in its capacity to ensure the rest also come back home tomorrow (Wednesday)”. He said.
Controversial relationship coach, Blessing Okoro, has revealed that she spent over N3 million on her liposuction surgery.

48-year-old Yinka died on July 31 and was laid to rest the next day.
In a statement released on the 2nd of August 2022, the octogenarian said that despite the efforts he made to help his late son, Olayinka, to ‘fight his weaknesses’, he did not succeed. He added that doctors had told him that his son had six months more to live. He said after receiving the sad news, he began to pray and that God asked him to start a new ministry tagged, ‘Freedom from Alcoholism and Drug Addiction Ministry’ as part of his efforts to join forces with the war against alcoholism and drug addiction, especially among young Nigerians and those in the Diaspora.
The statement reads;
“The doctors called me six months ago to inform me that Yinka had less than six months to live. It was very painful and bad news that a father must not hear about his son. Since then, l went back to the Holy Spirit to teach me what to do and the result of my communication with the Holy Spirit is the launching of this ministry.I have received several condolence messages from all and sundry. l appreciate everyone for their love and concern.
l also thank Yinka’s friends for their efforts and support.
l thank my eldest son, Shina, for ‘coordinating’ all his younger brothers and sisters, for extra and special care for Yinka till the end of his life. I also thank the pastors, elders, and the entire Decross family for everything.
Once again, I appreciate all condolences, but let us rather turn further condolences to prayer support of this new ministry to help those who are in pain of alcoholism and drug addiction. Get out of alcoholism, get out of drugs. Jesus loves you.”the statement read
The singer stressed that his new ministry will also become an avenue to assist parents and families of alcoholic and drug-addicted children and youths, in turning their lives around and making them better citizens in society.
A woman has lost her life after she was shot in a broad-daylight attack in Queens, New York, and police claim she was killed by a homeless man whom she allowed stay in her apartment.
24-year-old Sydney Lugo, had been arguing with the man, Tariak Stykes, 34, near 109th Avenue and 120th Street in South Ozone Park around 9:20 a.m. on Monday, August 1, when he allegedly shot her in the right arm, cops said.
She was rushed to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries, police said on Tuesday, August 2.
According to the Police, Lugo, who lived in an apartment building close to the scene, had allowed Stykes to stay with her temporarily.
The two were arguing when Stykes allegedly opened fire, but the exact nature of their argument is still vague, cops said.
The suspect was taken into custody shortly after the shooting and charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon, cops said.

Sixteen people have lost their lives in an auto crash that occurred along Alaro City, in the Epe area of Lagos, in the early hours of today, August 2.
Twenty-three male adults were engaged in the collision; 16 of them perished, five sustained life-threatening injuries, and two escaped without harm.
The Public Education Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Lagos Command, Olabisi Sonusi, who confirmed the accident in a statement, said that the crash occurred at 03:00 am and was caused by impaired visibility due to reckless driving.
Sonusi in the statement further revealed that the five injured victims have been hospitalized.
“The vehicles involved in the crash were a white bus with Registration number KTN 262YJ and an Articulated truck (Registration Number unknown). FRSC operatives and other emergency management agencies are on the ground, ensuring prompt recovery and evacuation of all crashed vehicles.
“The Sector Commander Federal Road Safety Corps Lagos Sector Command Corps Commander Olusegun Ogungbemide, therefore, advised motorists to always avoid night journey because of impaired visibility at that hour.
He also admonished the motoring public always to observe construction signage and speed limits at such zones. Ogungbemide is also using this medium to commiserate with the families of the deceased, while wishing the injured quick recovery.” The statement read.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have released pictures of Chris Nwezi, the owner of a meth laboratory busted by its agents in the Victoria Garden City estate in Lagos state.
Over the weekend, men of the anti-drug agency carried out a sting operation in the estate and arrested the suspect who they had been tailing for months under suspicion of ‘cooking’ meth.
Confirming his arrest to journalists on Tuesday, August 2, the Chairman of NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd) said Nwezi was running the laboratory in the boys quarter of the property he lives in with his family.

“I am pleased to inform the public today that, after months of painstaking intelligence gathering, diligent tracking and coordinated offensive action, we recorded a breakthrough on Saturday, July 30, 2022, when officers and men of the Agency successfully busted two methamphetamine manufacturing facilities, called Meth Laboratories.
The first one, located in Victoria Garden City (VGC) Estate of Lekki, Lagos, is owned by a baron, Chris Emeka Nzewi.
The laboratory in Lagos was set up inside the Boys Quarter building of a four-bedroom duplex. From there, we recovered a total of 258.74 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine and various precursor chemicals used for the production of the toxic drug. The complete paraphernalia of laboratory equipment such as gas cylinders, giant gas burners, industrial face masks, industrial gloves, tubes and flat-bottomed conical flasks, among others were also found.
This speaks volumes about his insensitivity to the consequences of exposing his family, which includes a three-month old baby, to the danger of hazardous chemicals. If that is the case, that is an indication that public health was of no concern to him.
In this particular case, aside from the laboratory being close to the kitchen of the main house, the waste from the laboratory was channelled into the septic tank and soakaway in the compound, with a high risk of contamination of the water table of the entire neighbourhood.
On average, the lab produced 50 kilos of methamphetamine every week with plans underway to increase the capacity of production to at least 100kg per week. Where do these drugs end? From our preliminary interrogation, we now know the drugs from this lab were both for export and local consumption. We also know there is a supply chain of distributors and buyers for export and the domestic market.
When you consider the fact that the price of this dangerous drug was going for as high as US500, 000 per kilo in the international market in recent time, you will understand why Nzewi cared less to put the lives of his own family at risk by producing this in the same house where they live. Hence, taking these two labs out of operation is a major feat in our continuing effort to curb the meth problem.”
The Chairman also revealed that the cook hired to produce meth for the VGC lab is the same one working at a meth lab busted in Anambra state, pointing out that they are all connected.
Pictures of a young Nigerian man fully kitted in NYSC khaki and boot pushing a heavily-loaded truck has gone viral on social media.
In the pictures reportedly taken at Choba Junction in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and shared on Facebook by UNIPORT CCTV, the man is seen pushing a truck loaded with plastic bottles.
Some residents of Port Harcourt also claimed they saw the young man on Tuesday, August 2.
Meanwhile, it’s not clear if the man is a serving member of the National Youth Service Corp (NYSC).
She said the woman in question is her friend’s neighbor and she moved into the compound with her husband few months ago.
However, the husband’s dealings were quite suspicious because people used to come with different cars to visit him before he was reported to the NDLEA by his wife.
