NDLEA release photos of Chris Nzewi, owner of Meth laboratory uncovered in VGC estate, Lagos

NDLEA release

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have released pictures of Chris Nwezi, the owner of a meth laboratory busted by its agents in the Victoria Garden City estate in Lagos state.

Over the weekend, men of the anti-drug agency carried out a sting operation in the estate and arrested the suspect who they had been tailing for months under suspicion of ‘cooking’ meth.

NDLEA release

Confirming his arrest to journalists on Tuesday, August 2, the Chairman of NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd) said Nwezi was running the laboratory in the boys quarter of the property he lives in with his family.

Read his full statement below,

“I am pleased to inform the public today that, after months of painstaking intelligence gathering, diligent tracking and coordinated offensive action, we recorded a breakthrough on Saturday, July 30, 2022, when officers and men of the Agency successfully busted two methamphetamine manufacturing facilities, called Meth Laboratories.

The first one, located in Victoria Garden City (VGC) Estate of Lekki, Lagos, is owned by a baron, Chris Emeka Nzewi.

The laboratory in Lagos was set up inside the Boys Quarter building of a four-bedroom duplex. From there, we recovered a total of 258.74 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine and various precursor chemicals used for the production of the toxic drug. The complete paraphernalia of laboratory equipment such as gas cylinders, giant gas burners, industrial face masks, industrial gloves, tubes and flat-bottomed conical flasks, among others were also found.

This speaks volumes about his insensitivity to the consequences of exposing his family, which includes a three-month old baby, to the danger of hazardous chemicals. If that is the case, that is an indication that public health was of no concern to him.

In this particular case, aside from the laboratory being close to the kitchen of the main house, the waste from the laboratory was channelled into the septic tank and soakaway in the compound, with a high risk of contamination of the water table of the entire neighbourhood.

On average, the lab produced 50 kilos of methamphetamine every week with plans underway to increase the capacity of production to at least 100kg per week. Where do these drugs end? From our preliminary interrogation, we now know the drugs from this lab were both for export and local consumption. We also know there is a supply chain of distributors and buyers for export and the domestic market.

When you consider the fact that the price of this dangerous drug was going for as high as US500, 000 per kilo in the international market in recent time, you will understand why Nzewi cared less to put the lives of his own family at risk by producing this in the same house where they live. Hence, taking these two labs out of operation is a major feat in our continuing effort to curb the meth problem.”

The Chairman also revealed that the cook hired to produce meth for the VGC lab is the same one working at a meth lab busted in Anambra state, pointing out that they are all connected.

A Twitter user has taken to the micro-blogging platform to share the interesting tactic a desperate man employed to get her to send her nude photo.

@tequilabongrip shared a screenshot of the message she received from the young man requesting for a picture of her bare boobs.

Instead of asking for the nude picture directly, the man claimed his sister is insecure about the size of her breasts and wants to see the picture of another woman’s breasts to compare with hers.

He then told her to send a picture of her own boobs so he can show it to his sister.

Reacting to the humorous message, the lady wondered if the guy thinks she’s dumb to believe his claim.

The message reads,

“Hey my sister is dissatisfied with the size of her breasts and I know this really weird and stuff (which I also told her haha), but she would like pictures of your breasts to compare. uh, pretty weird but she really wants to see good-looking breasts.

So if you send pictures of your breasts I give my cellphone to my sister and she gives it back to me after looking at it. She would be very happy and thanks in advance.”

Man shares amazing transformation of young girl he took out of a slum and enrolled her in a school in Abuja with an annual fee of N1m (Video)

Netizens have heaped praise on a Nigerian man after he shared the amazing transformation of a young girl he took out of a slum in Lagos and enrolled in a school in Abuja.

The man identified as @Otto_Orondaam revealed that he met the little girl in Makoko over 10 years ago, before taking her out of the Lagos community where it is believed a “girl shouldn’t go to school,” to an Abuja school with annual school fees of N1m.

He also stated that despite the girl’s home troubles having an affect on her scholarship exam, which she failed on her first attempt, she overcame them to become a top student in her school.

Sharing her heartwarming story on Twitter, he wrote,

“Here’s a short story to fill our hearts with. So, 10 years & 8 months ago, I met a little girl who challenged me, inspired me & eventually shaped my life and the lives of thousands of others. This week, we paid her a surprise visit in Abuja. I hope her story will inspire you

In December 2011, we met a little girl in Makoko paddling a large canoe, 10 times her size. She was 8 years old & never been to school. We were overwhelmed by her strength, so we trailed her to her house by the waterside. Why is a smart girl like her not in school? We wondered!

She jumped off the boat and went to the back of the hut where she was drying fish. She would later take the smoked fish to the market with her mum to sell. She was such an inspiration, but we knew she needed to be in school.

One of the conversations that challenged us was hearing that girls weren’t meant to go to school and this was a myth we had to dispel in the community. So, we asked her parents to give us a chance with her and that was how our journey began.

While we didn’t have a favorite child, Sisianu was smart, always happy and we took Sisianu as our special child. I genuinely wanted to see her succeed. We eventually got her family to allow us to enroll her into school. This was such a great win for us.

The negotiation process wasn’t easy, but we did it & that was one of our first recorded successes @Slum2School. This became our springboard, propelling us to speak to more families and eventually enrolling 114 kids into school in 2012. The community celebrated and so did we.

Sisianu was so passionate about being in school. She would arrive at school before 7am & help clean her classroom. She eventually became the best in her primary school class. She went on to win trophies in athletics and represented us at various sports competitions.

We were so proud of her. “Can you see that girls can achieve great things?” We would brag about her during advocacy campaigns. Her inspiring story inspired many caregivers to allow us enrol their kids in school. So in 2013 we enrolled 220 additional kids to school & 350 in 2014.

Sisianu became our little ambassador and we didnt want to see her fail. But her journey from 2016 wasn’t linear, it was filled with ups and downs. She excelled at many points and also failed at some. What’s happening to Sisianu? We were very worried.

Being a girl isn’t easy, but being a girl having to take care of all your younger siblings while helping your mothers fish business, in an environment where education isn’t regarded as priority, is even more difficult. Sisianu’s education became threatened.

In 2016 her performance dropped and she started missing classes regularly. We got our counseling team to work with her and a lot was recommended. There were several distractions and responsibilities she had besides her education. In 2018, she lost the motivation to go to school.

We packed her bags, bought her a 1 way flight ticket & flew her to Abuja to join our kids on Scholarship at Word Of Faith Schools but she failed the scholarship exam. She scored 34% and was not offered a scholarship. We knew she would perform poorly but we had no alternatives.

At this point our option was to either send her back to Makoko or pay the annual school fees which was about N1,000,000 per annum asides her upkeep and travel costs every quarter. In the end we would spend over N1.4m/year and this wasn’t something we had ever done.

We could also take her to a less expensive school but we didn’t want to isolate her from others and further damage her self esteem. But how do we pay such amount of fees for one child when it could support 30 other children? We were faced with a tough decision.

We had meetings & eventually decided to enroll her in Word of Faith School Abuja together with our other kids while working towards raising funds for her fees, travel expenses & her upkeep. It was a very tough decision but that was the only option we felt Sisianu truly deserved.

3 months later, she wrote her first term exams & from scoring 34% in her scholarship exam, Sisianu aced all her results with 8As and 4Bs. I was shocked and so was everyone. This was the first time since 2017 we saw the shining star that we had always known. How did this happen?

I remembered the day we all saw the results of her scholarship exam & she saw that she had failed. She cried bitterly. We also cried. She didn’t want to go back home so she promised that if she was given another chance she would do her best & make us proud. We trusted her!

In February this year, while I sat in the library preparing for my exams one snowy evening in Boston, I got a call from a random number on WhatsApp. It was very unlike me, but I picked up and I heard a voice screaming, “Uncle it is Sisianu”, “Oh how are you Sisianu” I responded.

She said, “I haven’t seen you since 2020 and you haven’t come to visit me since last year. You promised to visit us every year.” “I am in school and I haven’t been around since last year.” I responded “But you taught us to always keep to our promise.” She replied.

Those words felt quite heavy to respond to, so I paused and reminded her “but your mentors uncle Ekene, uncle Aaron, aunty Hauwa, aunty Ajibike and many others visit you often right? “Yes”, she replied, “we would be graduating from school this year, pls try to visit us”

“I am using my aunty’s phone to call you and I have to give it back to her. Goodbye Sir.” The phone went off. It was so tough to continue reading so I packed my bags and walked out of the library. It was indeed a long walk back home that night as I had a lot to reflect on.

At that point I had so much going on, and wasn’t sure when I was going to be back but I promised myself that I would visit her and our other kids before they graduated. Last month Sisianu completed her WAEC, passed her JAMB and this Wednesday she completed her final NECO exams.

Together with our leadership team in Abuja, I paid her a surprise visit at her school right after her final NECO exam. She spotted us from afar & this was what her joy looked like. She told me that she is the General Secretary in her school & shared all her achievements

She shared her plans for the University & her gratitude to everyone who supported her. Reflecting on her journey left me truly speechless & teary, seeing that through her we’ve made a complete circle. I am so thankful that we didn’t give up on her throughout the last 10 years.

I am thankful to everyone who believed in her and in us. Since 2019 after we took 4 of them out of Lagos to Abuja, Deborah has graduated and is a first-year student in Benson Idahosa University. Mariam is the deputy senior prefect; Mustapha is one of the best graduating students

And Sisianu, she remains our shining star, ready for a new journey in the University & continuously inspiring everyone across her community. Our goal is that she attends one of the best Universities in the world we ask that you join us to make this dream possible for her.”

Man who killed a 26-year-old lady and buried her in his room in Bayelsa recounts how he carried out the crime, gives reason for his action

Man who killed

A young Nigerian man, Joseph Fekala, who was arrested for killing a lady, Kate Oguoh, and burying her corpse in his room in Bayelsa state has narrated how he carried out the dastardly act.

Last week, Yabaleftonline reported that Joseph, said to be a suspected Yahoo boy, killed the 26-year-old lady in his apartment at the Okaka area of Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. ICYMI

The suspect was paraded before newsmen recently and he explained how and why he murdered the young lady.

According to him, Kate sought refuge in his two bedroom flat in February and had been staying with him since then, until he got a job in Port Harcourt and had to relocate but left her in his house.

Man who killed

In July, she transferred N50,000 to his bank account to help her trade in Forex with the intention of getting N20,000 interest monthly which he said wasn’t possible.

When he visited Bayelsa last week, he got into an argument with Kate over the money as he had squandered it and in the process choked her to death because he didn’t want her to raise alarm.

According to him, he is not a yahoo boy and he didn’t intend to use her for money ritual.

His words,

“We got into an argument over the N50,000 she sent to me for the suppose of forex trade she wanted to do. I tried to explain that I spent the money and will repay her but she angrily responded and pushed me. So I pushed her back and she fell on the bed, and since I knew she was going to raise alarm and our neighbours will hear her voice so I held her throat and closed her mouth, and choked her to death.”

Continuing, he said

“On the first of July I came to Bayelsa State to do some maintenance in the house because Kate met me in February that she needed a place to stay, based on the fact that the person she wanted to go stay with in Lagos didn’t work out, so she needed where to stay for four months.

So I gave her one of the rooms, and I was staying in the parlour, in a two-bedroom flat. I just got a job so I have to leave for Port Harcourt. I use to visit home to do some maintenance occasionally. So on the first of July when I came we met and as we were discussing, so she told me she wanted to trade forex since she knew some years back I used to trade for myself.

So I explained to her that the best I can do is teach her how to trade, and not trade for her because of the inconveniences in it. Later she left for her family house in Opolo and called me to send her my details, and she immediately sent me N50,000.

When I asked her the following day, she said she wanted me to trade for her, so I reminded her that I don’t want to be involved so she insisted, so I accepted.

So I asked her what she want from this thing and she said at least N20,000 every month, so I told her no institution or bank will offer that.

So I asked her to send her details so I can refund the cash, so later she started sending my colleagues at the office messages that I’m a scammer and criminal.

I tried chatting her up but she won’t want to listen, so I told her I will come to Bayelsa State since we can’t settle the issue on phone. So I came to Bayelsa this past Monday, I got home late at around 9 pm, and I met her inside and tried talking to her but she responded angrily back at me, I tried to calm her but she won’t agree.

I lay down to rest and she was still raising her voice at me for over 20 minutes so I slept off that day. The following day I decided to stay back for a few more days because I didn’t want to let it get to the hearing on my colleagues at work, and the chances of her doing that were high.

I came back on Thursday, and when she saw me, she was still angry. Then I pleaded with her that she should be patient with me, that I will raise the cash and refund her with interest when I get my paycheck, so she said even if she agrees it will be N20,000 interest. I declined that it was not up to one month and it won’t be possible, except at the end of August but she didn’t agree and she kept on talking and pushing me that she was going to deal with me through her aunty who is a police officer.

After I noticed she has given up, I went out to clear my head, as I was walking a thought came to me that I should just bury the body so everything will just pass. I borrowed a shovel around, I looked for the portion of the house that wasn’t too hard, so I dug it and left her inside the pit.

The fear of getting into trouble made me not report to the police. I’m not a yahoo boy and I didn’t kill her for rituals.

The following morning the mum came around and said she was looking for her daughter, and that was the first time I saw her, the daughter probably gave her the spare key to the house. She came the night before the incident but didn’t meet me.”

“They were to study engineering and medicine” – Father mourns his two teenage sons who were crushed to death by a truck on the same day in Delta.

A Nigerian man, identified as Wesley Anthony Ogheneruona Ojih, has been thrown into mourning following the deaths of his two teenage sons, who died in a motor accident on the same day.

Ojih’s sons, Favour Ogheneruona, 16, and Precious Ogheneruona, 14, were said to be on the same motorcycle when they had a fatal collision with a tipper lorry on the Owa-Okei Road, Owa, Delta State, which led to their deaths.

The unfortunate incident happened on May 24, 2022, and they were laid to rest in their hometown after a funeral service at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Agbor, on Thursday, July 21, 2022.

The father of five, in an interview with Ika Weekly Newspaper, revealed that his first son was looking forward to studying engineering, while the second hoped to become a medical doctor before the age of 22.

“I had a total of five sons until I lost my first two sons, Precious and Favour Ogheneruona, to death; who had concluded their May/June WAEC examination and just started the NECO examination. They have only written Marketing and Physics Practical before the ugly incident that occurred on the 24th, of May 2022.

“On that fateful day, they had no examination to write, so they decided to join their mother, my wife, and me on the farm at Otolokpo and by 1 pm, to go back to Agbor for their NECO thumbprinting. It was on their way back, between Owa Ekei and Owa Alero, that a big truck (tipper) crushed them to death.

“Their death was a huge loss to us, as my first son was already anticipating studying Engineering, while the second one to become a medical doctor, before the age of twenty-two.

“We loved our children so much; they were very obedient and are committed to our well-being of the family, even at their young age. They were working for us because they were envisaging that as they are working for us, we the parents will in turn would use those resources to send them to the University

“The Bible said we should give God thanks in every situation of life, actually, it is better they died that way than becoming a nuisance to society and source of burden to us because the impact of the accident on them was tremendous.” He said.

Viral Akwa Ibom boy reunites with his father six years after he was branded a witch and left to starve to death

Viral Akwa Ibom boy reunites

The malnourished 2-year-old boy who was rescued by a Danish aid worker, Anja Ringgren Lovén, in January 2016 after he was branded a witch by his family and left to starve to death has reunited with his father.

It would be recalled that a picture of the little boy, Hope, being fed water by Lovén went viral on the internet in 2016, and it was discovered that he was abandoned and left to wander the streets of Akwa Ibom after being accused of being a witch by his family.

However, he was rescued by the Danish woman and her husband, David Emmanuel Umem, and taken to the Children’s Education and Development Foundation (ACAEDF) a.k.a “Land of Hope”.

Fast forward to this year, Lovén took the young champ to his village in Akwa Ibom to know his roots and there he met his father again for the first time in six years.

Taking to her Facebook page on Monday, August 1, the aid worker shared pictures of Hope posing with his father and her son, David Jnr.

She however noted that Hope would never stay with his father or mother again but it’s sacrosanct for him to know his story and where he comes from.

Read her post below:

“For more than 6 years of searching we have finally found Hope´s father !!! A few days ago Land of Hope Director of Child Development Nsidibe Orok and I took Hope on home visit. We want the villagers to witness Hope´s amazing transformation

Akwa Ibom boy reunites

The last time we took Hope back to his village was in 2018 where we held a conference about superstition in the city hall for the entire community.

This time Hope was excited to be back because he understands more and much to our surprise we suddenly stood face to face with his uncle, the brother to his mother !!

In 2016 when we rescued Hope, the uncle was working in another state so he was not around. He also told us that Hope´s father was back in the village after being away for years.

Suddenly we were on our way to Hope´s father´s house. It was very surreal. The uncle told us that Hope looked a lot like his father and it was true. The resemblance was striking.

Hope´s parents are divorced. Due to safety reasons and legality I cannot go into details. But I will say this, Hope´s father was very surprised to see his son again. And Hope just kept staring at him. David Jr. was there too. He was so caring and with hand signs he kept telling Hope that everything was fine.

Akwa Ibom boy reunites

When we came back to the Land of Hope, Hope took my phone and was so excited to show the children the pictures of him and his father. Exactly like all the other children do when they come back from home visit.

Hope is not going to live with his father or mother for many reasons. But no matter what has happened in the past, children need to know their roots. Children need to know where they come from because it helps shape their identity.

Hope has the right to have an identity. Having an identity is a fundamental human right. For Hope to know more about his cultural background and where he comes from will help him to develop a strong sense of who he really is.

Akwa Ibom boy reunites

For Hope to know where he comes from does not mean that he will ever forget what happened, on the contrary, it will set him free and take him to a more powerful place in his life.”

Nigerian mother with a newborn baby reports her husband to NDLEA for dealing drugs

A lady has taken to Twitter to narrate how a mother with a newborn baby reported her husband to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for dealing drugs.

According to @Boluxxxx on Twitter, when NDLEA officials came to search the couple’s house, they found cocaine underneath the bathtub.

She said the woman in question is her friend’s neighbor and she moved into the compound with her husband few months ago.

Nigerian mother with

However, the husband’s dealings were quite suspicious because people used to come with different cars to visit him before he was reported to the NDLEA by his wife.

Her words,

“NDLEA came to carry my friend’s neighbor’s husband. Apparently na the wife report am. They sha found cocaine under the bathtub. He was dealing. And they have a newborn.

You see this our country as it is? We deserve it. We are us, we are our leaders. That’s us.

I feel the need to throw more light on this based on how the conversation is going.

1. The couple have just been a few months in their compound.

2. I said my friend’s neighbor’s husband because the landlord tried to eject the wife immediately after but she begged cos baby, etc

So it’s her house now.

3. Convo came up cos the light tripped and my friend sent her help to go check if the fuse was fixed in properly. She’s like “don’t pass behind that woman’s house(the wife) before she says you’re peeping in. I’m like why? She’s like the woman is paranoid.

Clearly because of the issue.

4.The security man attested that since they moved in different cars go by the house and they wondered why. He’ll later try to recruit the security man(another long story)as a dealer because he’s a dealer dealer.

What we both agreed on is that she probably knew before they got married because they clearly dated so something else must have prompted her reporting. Ps; it happened a little while back but my friend told me yesterday

Lastly, I’m shook at the conversation being about the wife than drug dealing because honestly that was the primary thing that caught my attention. Where we had smoke for her was proceeding to date, marry and eventually snitch on a drug dealer. Not like we know their dynamics so”
