The Chief Judge of Akwa Akwa Ibom ordered a Premium Times reporter to leave the court. I said my lord, we were thinking that since the proceeding is public, that members of the public should be allowed to observe the proceeding. My Lord asked me to proceed with cross examination.
I obeyed. I informed the court that I was not feeling comfortable and safe having two armed mobile policemen seated inside the courtroom, that it was strange and that I felt unsafe. I applied for the judge to excuse the armed policemen from the courtroom.
The Hon. Chief Judge then ordered me to step out of the Bar, that she was sending me to prison. She then ordered the policemen to take me to Uyo prison. And that I should be in jail for one month. I am waiting inside the courtroom for them to bring the conviction warrant.
I will be going to the Uyo Correctional Centre now. I have not done anything. I wasn’t even given the opportunity to say anything before the “conviction”. Two lawyers in court appealed to the Hon. Chief Judge but my Lord insisted that I must be jailed.
Meanwhile, there is already a pending application for recusal asking the Hon. Chief Judge, Justice Ekaette Obot, to recuse Himself. We filed it since 23rd June, 2022. The motion is still pending.”

Popular Presidential aide, Femi Adesina, has issued a response to Nigerians who say the Buhari-led administration has failed due to the alarming rate of insecurity in the country,
In an interview with Channels TV on Wednesday evening July 27, The Special Adviser to President Buhari on Media and Publicity said no government solves all the problems in the country. According to him, it has never happened and it will never happen.
In his words;
”Yes the party (APC) promised that it will secure the country and if you listen to the President everytime, he talks about his three priorities for Nigeria right from his first term, to his second term and now to 10 months to the end of the administration, he would say 1, we would secure the country, 2. revive the econoy, 3. we will fight corruption. Those three still remain as his topmost priorities.
In security, consider the first year in the administration. Was it the same way as it was inherited? No! There was an improvement. In fact, the insurgency was beaten up to the point it was said that Boko Haram has been technically degraded.
But later there was a resurgence. Not only in resurgence, but it also became Hydra-headed. The insurgency was the main problem in 2015, later banditry joined, later kidnapping joined, later kidnapping joined, and later cult killings joined. It became hydra-headed.
So, you don’t begin to say a government has failed for a problem that suddenly spiraled out of control. Security is a challenge. 10 months, one day to the end of the administration anything can still happen. A lot can still happen. You don’t begin to conclude that it has failed on security when its time is not up yet. For all you know, in one week or two months, this problem may be over. It can get done. That is how we should be, positive-minded.
And of course, there are successes in different areas like infrastructure, agriculture, social security, many others.. so you don’t take just one issue and use it to conclude that the government has failed. It is never done. There is no government in part of the world that solves all the problems in the country. It has never happened and it will never happen”

He however noted that he can’t deny his ‘children’ referring to some of the actresses who have at one time or the other visited his church.

His post didn’t sit well with Oby Ezekwesili and she lampooned him for not caring about the suffering of the masses and taking a break from his office to pursue a degree in the United States.
She wrote on Twitter,
“What do you folks do for Nigerians? What does Nigeria mean to you all? What justifies your existence as our Legislative Arm in our Democracy? Is there anything about the dire state of Nigeria that worries you at all?
It is a monumental shame to have this massive body of lawmakers costing the country so much money because of your constant desire to take more than you give the country and people; and yet all we have is a Legislature on permanent break from the sufferings of citizens. SHAME.
The Arm of Government that came into existence and Nigeria became classified as a “Democracy” is the @nassnigeria . It is that same Body that you two @SPNigeria The Senate President @DrAhmadLawan and @HouseNGR Speaker @femigbaja so POORLY preside over. Wake up. Wake up. Wake up!”
Popular Nigerian comedian and activist, Mr Macaroni drops a new comedy video tagged “The Handout”, featuring Korrexx, Diva Gold, Timi Agbaje, Bro Bouche and Mofe.
The viral Nigerian man with three wives and 18 children has said he doesn’t mind having more children as long as he has a good job that earns him legitimate money.
Mohammed Suleiman became a viral sensation after he posted photos of his large family on Facebook during the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
He granted an interview with Punch recently where he opened up about how he felt after his family photos went viral, his plans for more kids, and how he handles the financial obligations of having many kids.
“Actually, it is a tradition in my family for everyone to come together and take pictures, and I’ve been posting them on my page for years. If you follow my page, you’ll see them, but this year it became something else. I just discovered it is trending and has gone viral,”Sulaiman said.
He said he didn’t plan to marry multiple wives because he was scared of taking caring of many wife and kids, but here he is with three wives and 18 children with plans to take a new wife soon.
His words, “Before I got married, if they had given me a wife, I would have said they should divide me into two. This is because the way we were brought up, we constantly heard about the difficulty of taking care of a wife and the children, so it made me feel like having half a wife, not a full wife. That was my mentality then, but as I grew and understood the philosophy of life, I realised that all I needed was to strive and work hard to cater to their needs, and I could see a lot of opportunities to do that without even working in a collar job. I also see it as a means to cater to women because there are many of them without a husband. I now have three wives, and I’m hoping to marry another one in two months’ time.”
He added that he has never had problems with providing and taking care of his large family because he works hard and plans for the future.
“To be sincere, maybe because I’m productive in terms of searching, working, and travelling. I can work anywhere. I remember that I once worked with a cargo company, moving from Saudi Arabia to Nigeria and other places. I have never found it difficult to feed my family or pay my children’s school fees,” he said.
“In short, I was awarded at my children’s school for being one of the parents that paid school fees promptly. My daughter is in university, my son is in a polytechnic, and I have at no time had any difficulty because I planned. I know after a school term, I will be paying for another term or semester, so somewhere along the line, I have it all planned out, and because I’m a Muslim, we were taught to plan things
“A pregnancy lasts for nine months; does it befit you as a man in the eighth month to start running helter-skelter for the delivery items? You have to plan ahead for the nine months, and as a Muslim, you plan ahead, so by the time it is the right time to produce all you need, Insha’Allah, you’ll have them already because you’re planning.”
Speaking on his plans to have more children considering the current state of the Nigerian economy, he said,
“Actually, so far, I haven’t considered the state of the economy. I’ve considered what I can do and how I can make money to satisfy my family. When the Kaduna State Governor increased the school fees in Kaduna universities, someone advised that I defer my daughter’s admission, but I refused because I was capable of working. Why am I working? Is it not to satisfy my family? When you hear people talk about the state of the economy, it is because they don’t want to work. I don’t mind, as long as I have a job that earns me legitimate money.”
