Ejiro Otarigbo, the brave tanker driver who drove a burning tanker from a danger zone to avert a tragic fire incident in Agbarho, Delta State, has welcomed a child with his wife.
Sometime in June of 2022, Ejiro Otarigho was praised and is still being praised after he saved lives when he drove a burning tanker to a safe location, where it later exploded without any casualty.
To lessen the damage that the flaming truck might cause if it exploded, Otarigho drove it away from a heavily crowded residential neighbourhood in Agbarho Town, Ughelli North, Delta State, to a sparsely populated location.
At the time, Ejiro was interviewed to speak about the incident… he revealed that he recently got married and his wife was heavily pregnant. Ejiro and his wife have now welcomed a beautiful baby girl.

Former Nigerian Senator, Shehu Sani has asked how Nigeria lost the spirit of unity that made citizens see beyond tribe.
The Politician recalled a time when a Fulani man contested and won to become the first Mayor of Enugu. He also recalled an Igbo man being in the Kaduna House of Assembly.

The Senator also reacted to the recent attack at Kuje Prisons that had Gunmen said to be Boko Haram terrorists using high explosives and guns, leading to the escape of 879 of the 994 inmates in custody. Authorities say 64 of the fleeing inmates are members of Boko Haram.

Edwin Kamau, a 23-year-old medical student at Makindu Medical Training College, Kenya, has been arrested by the police after he staged his own kidnapping to get money from his parents.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations-DCI, who confirmed Kamau’s arrest in a statement on Thursday, July 7, said the suspect ‘disappeared’ last Sunday before he blocked his father and called his mother, claiming to have been kidnapped and that his adductors were demanding a ransom of Sh70,000.
When Kamau’s placed another call through claiming that his abductors were about to eliminate him, his parents were able to raise Sh50,000 and send it as a deposit to secure their son’s release.
After receiving the initial payment of the ransom, it is said that Kamau went to a bar to have a good time with a woman he had just met. Unfortunately, the woman spiked his drink and stole the money.
The statement read,
“He told her that his kidnappers wanted a ransom of Sh70,000, to set him free before he hanged up on he. His distraught parents reported the matter to police officers who immediately launched a manhunt for the kidnappers.”
“However, the calls persisted with Kamau telling his mother that his kidnappers were on the verge of eliminating him. Determined to secure the life of their son, they sent Sh10,000 yesterday via mobile money and an additional Sh40,000 today.
“Immediately Kamau received the initial Sh10,000, he went to a club in Thika to irrigate his throat and make merry in the company of a babe he had met. And as fate would have it, the woman turned out to be a pishori admin who laced his drink with an unknown substance and stole the cash.
“Today after regaining control of his faculties, he called again and his parents sent a further Sh40,000 which he withdrew and secured in his shoes. By this time, detectives had closed in on him.
Upon questioning, Kamau said that he had squandered money meant for his last semester’s school fees and was wondering how he would raise money in order to sit for his exams, hence the fake story. He further disclosed that he had been ‘kidnapped’ alongside two other students whose parents had paid their ransoms. Detectives recovered Sh38,600 from the student who is now in custody at Koyole police station pending arraignment.”
A video circulating online shows the moment a lady tackled an Anambra-based tailor over the difference between the outfit she ordered and what she made.
In the video, the young lady who went to the tailor’s shop to try on the dress, was left disappointed after seeing that it was ill fitted.
The lady said the dress was too tight in the hand and thigh region and she couldn’t walk freely in it.
She also pointed out that the breast region was too big for her as her bosoms are not that big.
The lady who was livid queried the tailor for not sewing the right fit despite showing her a picture of the style she wanted.
However, the tailor said the outfit only needs minor adjustment.

The mother of a 13-month-old baby is crying out for justice after her daughter was allegedly defiled at school.
It was reported that the little child was dropped off at school in Ojota, Lagos, on Monday, July 4. However, when her mother picked her up from school later that day, she said the child had bruises, swellings, blood stains, and whitish deposits all over her thighs and private areas.
According to the mother, a test was conducted on the child the following day, and the result showed she had been defiled.
The baby is said to have been severely ill since then.
Sharing the heartbreaking incident on her Instagram page, along with a video of the little girl, comedian Lepacious Bose wrote,

Case of Princess, a 13-months-old baby girl who was defiled in school, Lohims Academy Ojota, Lagos. As reported by Princess’ mother, Mrs. Mary, Princess came back from school, Lohims Academy Ojota, on Monday, July 4, 2022, with bruises, swellings, blood stains and whitish deposits around her vagina and thigh.
On Tuesday, July 5, 2022, Princess was taken to Oregun Primary Health Centre, who examined Princess and confirmed that she has been defiled and her hymen was not intact. However, when they had the name of the school, Lohims Academy Ojota, where the incident took place, they flipped, claiming that Princess just has diaper rash, that it was nothing. However, they referred them to Ojodu Primary Health Center, claiming that there is an agency there that handles defilement.
On getting to Ojodu Primary Health Centre, they were told that no such agency exists there. The doctor examined and confirmed that Princess has been defiled, having a broken hymen. A second doctor was called, who examined and confirmed also that Princess was defiled. Again, upon hearing the name of the school, Lohims Academy Ojota, where this crime took place, they changed their narrative, claiming that Princess just had diaper rashes, that it’s nothing.
However, when Princess’ parents challenged the doctors at Ojodu Primary Health Centre, they were given Laboratory Request Paper to run some tests in their laboratory. The laboratory official requested for payment for the tests but Princess’parents made them to understand that the doctor already told them that the do not need to pay. Only RVS test was conducted on Princess, they claimed that they do not have Rape Kit available, and gave them some supplements, antibiotics, and HIV-prevention medications for Princess.
Today, Wednesday, July 6, 2022, Princess was taken to Police Hospital Falomo, Lagos, where it was yet confirmed that Princess was defiled. But because the incident was more than 48 hours old, the sperm evidence were no longer available.”
A first year student of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), identified as Jamila Ayo Abu, has been declared missing in Ibadan.
The 19-year-old student was said to have left her parent’s house located at Ireakari Estate, along Akala-Expressway, Ibadan, on Wednesday, July 6, to an undisclosed location and is yet to return home.
According to her distraught mom, Mrs Abu, Jamila complained of a headache in the morning and that was why she didn’t follow her to the office on that fateful day.
When she returned home in the evening, she saw Jamila’s phone on the table but she was nowhere to be found.
Her words,
“When I got home on Wednesday evening, I met her mobile phone on the table, and I became worried when I could not see her within and even in the neighbourhood. I have been trying to know her whereabouts but the effort has not yielded any fruit.
“We waited for some hours and when we didn’t see her, we had to report the incident to the police formally.
“I will be very happy if we can get any vital information on her whereabouts. I’m also appealing to the public to help me out.”

Controversial Anambra-based clergyman, Prophet Odumeje, has dismissed reports that his church, Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention and Deliverance Ministry, was demolished.
It was earlier reported that the church located in Bida Road, Fegge, Onitsha, Anambra State, was demolished by the Anambra State Government (ANSG) task force on Thursday, July 7, and a video capturing the moment the building was taken down was shared online.
Anambra State Governor, Soludo, also confirmed the demolition in a statement signed on his behalf by his Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime.
It was stated that the church and other buildings were demolished because they were built on Fegge waterways.
The statement read,
“Following the expiration of the more than two weeks notice beginning from April 2022 served on developers and building owners who built several illegal structures along the waterway in Fegge and environs within Onitsha, Anambra state government has begun demolition of such structures.
The exercise which is being carried out by a joint government task force, commenced the exercise from Bida Road by Modebe Avenue, Fegge Onitsha.
The affected buildings include Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention Deliverance Ministries, shops and other perimeter fences. The structures were marked since April, 2022 and all developers and building owners were served notice to remove such illegal structures.”
However, the clergyman has now come out to dismiss reports that his church was demolished, tagging it as fake news.
According to him, it was the security house close to the church that had been destroyed and not his church building.
A post on the church’s official Facebook page reads,
“Lion Family No Fear: Prophet Odumeje’s Church was never Demolished. Only the Securty/Store bulding beside the Drainage System. What shall it Profit you to be spreading Fake Rumours.”

Popular Nigerian singer, Kizz Daniel, has been heavily criticized by fans after he reportedly showed up late for his concert in the US.
The Buga hitmaker, who is currently on a tour of ten cities in the United States, was five hours late for the concert last night and is said to have performed for only 30 minutes when he finally showed up.

Popular Nigerian socialite, Pascal Chibuike Okechukwu better known as Cubana ChiefPriest, has criticized Anambra State Governor, Charles Chukwuma Soludo, over the demolition of controversial clergyman, Prophet Odumeje’s church building.
It would be recalled that a part of the Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention and Deliverance Ministry located in Bida Road, Fegge, Onitsha, Anambra State, was demolished on Thursday, July 7.
It was gathered that the church had been marked for demolition by the state government because it was built on Fegge waterway since April 2022.
Due to their failure to comply with the directive to take down the illegal structures, men of the Anambra State Government (ANSG) task force swung into action on Thursday and demolished the buildings.
However, it was later discovered that it was only the security and storehouse that was demolished not the whole church building.
Reacting to the incident, Cubana Chief Priest took to his Instastory to lambaste Gov. Soludo for demolishing Odumeje’s church and said God will judge him for his actions.
According to the celebrity barman, he is disappointed in Soludo for doing such a thing to Odumeje despite the fact that he supported during his political campaign.

According to Susan, she purchased a keke by saving the allowance given to her monthly by NYSC.
Uwaoma revealed she was earning N19,800 from NYSC and from her Primary Place of Assignment, N20,000. She stated that she saved up the monies and realized a total of N432,000.
Susan, a graduate of estate management graduate who recently completed the mandatory one-year service, shared photos of the keke on Facebook, and she has since been praised by social media users.

Controversial singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, allegedly got into a fight during a recent performance in Ogun State.
According to a viral report, the singer performed at an event that reportedly ended in pandemonium that the Zazu Zeh star allegedly provoked.
An alleged witness who shared the video which showed the state of the event center in Ogun state after the alleged chaos captioned it, “Portable in Ogun State; watch what happened next. Na fight end am, everybody japa; weyrey done scatter show by himself.”
In the video, chairs were seen destroyed and scattered at the event center.
The singer is, however, yet to react to the allegation.

The Ogun State Police Command had on June 20 instructed the music artiste to report himself to any of the stations in the state or face arrest after a viral video showed him telling some youths to beat up a young man and inflict bodily injury on him.

The social justice, who appears to be currently in Nigeria, stated this via his Twitter handle Thursday, July 7, while sharing his experience in the country’s commercial city.
He suggested that the majority of Lagos drivers violate traffic rules by running red lights.

In other news, two officials of the Porth Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHED) were attacked as they attempted to disconnect the power lines of defaulters in Rumuewhara area of Port Harcourt.
In a video that was shared online, one of the two PHED workers is noticed to be on top of a ladder disconnecting the power lines while another was at the foot of the ladder.
Suddenly, locals approached the official at the foot of the ladder and attacked him before throwing him to the ground and landing heavy blows on him.
While the official already on ground is being fought with, a woman walks up to the ladder and pulls it, causing the PHED official on top of the ladder to fall several feet to the ground.

Veteran Nigerian rapper, Eedris Abdulkareem, has spoken for the first time since the news broke about his ailing health.
The veteran singer’s management revealed in a statement on Wednesday, July 6, that he was recently diagnosed with kidney failure and has been undergoing dialysis in a Lagos hospital.
His management appealed to Nigerians to pray fervently and send in their well wishes to the singer.
However, giving an update on his health in a video he shared on his Instagram page on Thursday, July 7, Eedris assured his fans that he’s fine.
He shared a video of himself from his hospital bed undergoing dialysis and thanked his fans for their prayers, love and support so far.
“Hello everybody my name is Eedris Abdulkareem. I want to thank you all for your prayers and support and I want you all to know that I am going to come out of it successfully. Thank you for your love and support I really appreciate you all, love you so much. Today I am in my dialysis session and it takes 3 to 4 hours, after the dialysis, I go out to do my daily activities but I am strong in body, spirit and soul. Anambra State Governor, Charles Soludo has spoken on the demolition of the Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention and Deliverance Ministry, owned by controversial clergyman, Prophet Odumeje.
It was earlier reported that Odumeje’s church located in Bida Road, Fegge, Onitsha, Anambra State, was demolished by Operatives of the Anambra State Government (ANSG) task force on Thursday, July 7, and a video capturing the moment the building was taken down was shared online.
Governor Soludo has now confirmed the demolition in a statement signed on his behalf by his Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime.
It was stated that the church and other buildings were demolished because they were built on Fegge waterways.
The building owners were said to have been directed to remove the illegal structures since April 2022, but failed to comply hence the demotion.
The press release with the title: Anambra State Government begins demolition of illegal structures in Fegge, reads;
“Following the expiration of the more than two weeks notice beginning from April 2022 served on developers and building owners who built several illegal structures along the waterway in Fegge and environs within Onitsha, Anambra state government has begun demolition of such structures.
The exercise which is being carried out by a joint government task force, commenced the exercise from Bida Road by Modebe Avenue, Fegge Onitsha.
The affected buildings include Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention Deliverance Ministries, shops and other perimeter fences
The structures were marked since April, 2022 and all developers and building owners were served notice to remove such illegal structures.”
Popular Nollywood actor, Yul Edochiehas heavily criticized the death sentence passed on some gay men in Bauchi state.
A Sharia court sentenced three men, including a 70-year-old man, to death by stoning for engaging in homosexuality under section 134 of the 2001 Bauchi State Penal Law, which states: “Whoever commits the offence of sodomy shall be punished with death by stoning [rajim] or any other means decided by the state.”
Yul in a post shared on his Instagram page said it’s completely wrong to stone a man to death because of his sexual orientation.
According to the 40-year-old actor, gay people also have rights which should not be trampled upon by the society and judgement should be left to God.
He added that it’s better for them to be convicted over a crime, not homosexuality.

UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson has resigned on Thursday, July 7, after less than three years in Number 10.
This follows a series of political crisis in the country that has crippled Britain’s government.
He announced his resignation in a speech at Downing Street where he said “no one in politics is remotely indispensable”.
“I feel sad to be giving up the best job in the world. I fought so hard in the last few days to continue because I felt it was my job, my duty and my obligation to continue as PM.”

He said it’s painful not to see it through and he tried to persuade his cabinet that it would be weird to change prime minister now but his appeals were not granted.
He added that the new Prime Minister will be announced next week.

Most recently, he was criticized for the way he handled the resignation of his former deputy chief whip, Chris Pincher, who was accused of sexually harassing two men last week.
This led to the resignation of over 50 lawmakers who were furious by his action.
Boris has now acknowledged that he was in the wrong and has stepped down as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.
Operatives of the Anambra State Government (ANSG) task force have demolished the Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention and Deliverance Ministry, owned by controversial clergyman, Prophet Odumeje.
It was gathered that the church located in Bida Road, Fegge, Onitsha, Anambra State, had been marked by the state government for demolition since April 2022.
It’s said that the church was marked for demolition among over 200 other houses for obstruction and blocking the drainage way within the Fegge-Onitsha, Ogbaru and their environs.
Bulldozers were seen demolishing the building with the supervision of some ANSG task force officials in videos that surfaced online. The videos also showed the officials assaulting the man of God, hitting and slapping him at intervals as they prevented him from accessing his church building.

In other news, Maryam Adamu, a 20-year-old student at Gombe State University (GSU), has stated that the Academic Staff Union of Universities’ (ASUU) prolonged strike has compelled her to start looking for a husband.
The young lady, in an interview with the Daily Sun, bemoaned the strike action by the union and noted that the strike has messed up her plans of graduating before turning 20.
Mariam, who is in her second year at the university, said her desire to finish her education before getting married has been completely crushed by the ongoing strike, and all she desires right now is to get married and start a family.
