Nigerian comedian, Officer Woos comes through with a new comedy, and he tagged this one “The Serial Killers House” featuring De General.
A court has approved a 52-year-old Kenyan man’s dowry repayment request following the dissolution of his marriage.
The man and his estranged wife, Irine Khasoa, got married in 2017 and their marriage was annulled in 2021 in a Kitale court.
The man identified as Wilberforce Murunga then dragged his former in-laws to Kitale chief magistrate in December 2021, demanding a dowry refund including cash, three cows, one she-goat, a pair of gumboots, and a hat after his two-year marriage to their daughter fell apart.
Wilberforce claimed that after one year and six months of marriage, his wife abandoned their marital home, and that since he had paid the dowry according to Bukusu customs, he was entitled to a refund.
“I paid Sh50,000, three Ayrshire heifers, one cross Ayrshire bullock, one she-goat, a pair of gumboots and a hat as bride price. I have a copy of the dowry negotiation agreement which was counter-signed by representatives of both families,” he said.
In the case before Kitale Chief Magistrate Julius Ngar, he argued that his mother-in-law and her daughter had conspired to defraud him of his hard-earned money.

The Kitale mediation court, in its judgment on Saturday, May 14, 2022, ordered Wilberforce to be refunded three cows, a she-goat and KSh 20, 000.
Wilberforce nd his brother Fred Matumbayi then proceeded to Kiungani at the Chief’s office in Baraton to pick the animals and cash from his in-laws.
Speaking after being refunded, Murunga said he was happy that justice had finally been served.
In his words,
“I am excited and happy that the court has done justice for me. Since the aggressor happens to be a lawyer I never thought I would win this case and I thank God.”
The elated man also urged men suffering in silence to come out of their comfort zone and trust in court for justice.

Two suspected bandits have been arrested for the kidnapping of a man in Bandoko community, Kaduna State — according to the suspects, their initial plan was to abduct and gang-rape the victim’s wife.
Police Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Muyiwa Adejobi, in a statement revealed that the suspects, Abdurahman Lolo and Muhammed Sanni, were apprehended by the operatives of the Inspector General of Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT) led by DCP Olatuniji Disu, following a distress call to the Operation Puff Adder.
“At about 11.30 pm on the 29th of April 2022, some bandits attacked a house in Bandoko for the purpose of kidnapping a woman and gang-rape her all night. The woman who sells ‘fura-denunu’ within the area had been monitored by the suspects before the attack,” the statement read.
“Upon breaking into the room of the woman, they found her with her husband. At this point, they changed their plan from kidnapping and rape to kidnapping for ransom. The invaders demanded the key to the motorcycle of the 35-year-old husband, Jibril Saidu.
“After collecting the key, they forced him to remove his shirt and trousers, which were used to blindfold him and tie his hands to his back. They stole his bike, put him on the bike and escaped from the village into far away Gbadoko forest.”
“Immediately they left, the mother of the husband raised alarm and the residents came out but could not chase after the invaders for fear that the kidnappers may be armed with guns. The villagers immediately organized local vigilantes to secure the community and then sent a distress call to the IRT operatives attached to Operation Puff Adder for urgent action.”
“When the police arrived, the villagers assisted in showing them directions and they chased after the kidnappers. Around 5 am on 30th of April 2022, the police officers were able to trace the invaders into their hideout at Gbadoko forest where the suspects on sighting the police officers, abandoned their victim and motorcycle and fled into the thick forest.”

The police officers continued their chase after them and were able to arrest one of the kidnappers, Abdulrahman Lolo, a 20-year-old herder and further investigations by operatives of the FIB-IRT led to the arrest of the other member of the gang, Mohammed Sanni, a 26-year-old herder.
During interrogation, both suspects confessed to the crime and are assisting the police with information.
According to Abdurahman LoloA,
“I and one Abubarka Baya rear cows in the same village. Abubakar asked me to follow him to a Fulani Ruga settlement in the same area. Our plan was to abduct a woman for the purpose of raping her, but it turned out to be the kidnapping of her husband,”
“We only made use of torchlights, cutlasses and sticks, not a gun. Others who went together with me for the operation are Sani, Abubakar, Umar and Seif. All of us are boys of Alhaji Lolo of Gadam Mallam-Mamam. The other boys I mentioned have been going out for operations before, but this is my own first time. The role I played was to mount road and pass information to other members who escaped when police chased us.” he added.
The victim, Jibril, narrated how he was abducted by the suspects and eventually rescued by IRT operatives.
“An unidentified group of persons invaded my house, flashed torchlights in my eyes and I couldn’t see. They threatened to kill me and my family if I do not cooperate with them. They ordered me to remove my clothes, and at the same time, requested the key to my motorcycle, which I quickly surrendered to them. They used my clothes to blindfold my eyes and tied my two hands to the back. They led me out of the house to my bike and drove me away. I was rescued by the IRT men.” he explained.
CSP Adejobi revealed that the Inspector General of Police Usman Baba Alkali, has directed the Commander of IRT, DCP Olatunji Disu, to ensure prompt prosecution of all cases and make sure that peace return to Abuja-Kaduna highway.
Adejobi also charged members of the public to work with the police in the efforts to ensure that all parts of the country are effectively policed.

Nigerian actor Stanley Nweze is seemingly not satisfied with the outcome of the recently held Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards AMVCA and he has suggested that the name should be changed to Lasgidi/Lagos awards.
In a post shared on his Instastories, Stanley made a case for Enugu and Asaba actors as he claimed that they are not recognized by their Lagos colleagues.

His post reads;
African Magic viewers choice awards sincerely should be changed to lasgidi/lagos awards or something else because there are a lot of good actors and crew members in other areas under the same Nollywood working really hard that y’all don’t recognize.
I think AMVCA should have a commercial category so that the Enugu and Asaba Actors can fit in because if skit/online contents can be added to the AWARD CATEGORY then why should commercial actors be left out. It is not clear to me.

The authorities of Deeper Life High School, Uyo, and the parents of Don-Davis Archibong, a junior student of the school who had earlier accused some senior students and teachers of molestation and abuse in 2020, have agreed to an out of court settlement.

In a peace and reconciliation reception which was organized by the school in honour of Master Archibong on Friday, the lead counsel to Deeper Life High School, Taiwo Kupolati SAN, commended the High Court Judge, Ntong Ntong, who initiated the peace process.
“It is to the glory of God that after two conferences, both parties and individuals concerned; the school, and the children involved, came together to reconcile.
“We got a consent judgement that we will come together to unite the students and let them know it is better to live a united life as they are the future of this generation. Today is to celebrate, and affirm the principle of peace.
“I want us to know that as parents we must seek and boldly enforce peace because he who does not have peace is not entitled to good life.
“I thank Deborah Archibong so much for agreeing to have this matter resolved at no financial cost because of the future of the children. All the bad memories and negative publicity are gone”, said Kupolati, shortly after the reception party.

At the occasion, mother of Don Davis, Mrs Deborah Archibong, who spoke with newsmen shortly after a friendly football match organized in honour of her son, expressed Joy as all the children involved in the case were alive to witness the occasion.
She recalled that her son, Don-Davis was enrolled for his secondary education at Deeper Life High School because of the sound moral standard and discipline the school had been known for.
She said,
“I am honestly happy because all the children involved are alive and some parents watching us may be crying but I give God the glory. This is what the body of Christ is all about.
“For the parties that were involved which I am one of them, I would say we should all be on the learning side. We should learn to approach things quickly irrespective of who is involved.
“To be honest I am a business person and I know what it means for an organization to be dragged, especially when it is dragged wrongly. I will send an apology but before I do, I would like to say If they had taken it up as at when it was calm, it would not have gotten to this point.
“Taking it to the public brought us to where we are today. That drag was because nobody was giving me a listening ear. Don-Davis came to Deeper Life High school for discipline and high morals. And looking at the children in the school, you can see discipline in them.
“Let us forget that the devil came in, everything will be fine. The good news that I want to trend on social media is that I like the cooperation of teachers, the principal and every other person in the school. I see Christ in every one of them. I know that Deeper Life High school has come to stay”.
The aggrieved parents of the female student who was brutally killed by an irate mob in Sokoto have vowed that none of their children will attend school again.
Deborah Samuel, a Christian student at the Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto, was killed by her schoolmates on the school premises last Thursday over alleged blasphemy.
The bereaved parents, who noted that they have left everything to God and are not willing to seek legal redress for their daughter’s death, in an interview with Punch, vowed never to allow any of their remaining seven children to attend school again.
The couple revealed that the family had eight children, but that due to the tragic development, none of the seven surviving children would be permitted to return to school to avoid a repeat of the ordeal.
“We are not seeking redress in any court over the killing of our daughter. We are firm believers in Christ who always leave everything in the hands of God. No vengeance, nothing. Everything is left to our creator. We don’t want anything (from the government) but it is just unfortunate that we used all our resources to send her to school and now she is dead. She was my eldest child and I have seven others left.” Deborah’s father said.
In tears, the deceased’s mother, Alheri Emmanuel, added, “I have no demands; I don’t want anything but one thing I know is that my children will never go to school again.”
