The Economic and Financial Crimes Comission has confirmed the arrest of immediate past Governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano, who was nabbed while leaving the country after handing over to his successor, Charles Soludo.

The Public Relations Officer of the commission, Wilson Uwajaren, speaking in a chat with BBC Pidgin, have now explained the reason behind the arrest.
He explained that the EFCC had been watching Obiano for a whle now but they couldn’t take any action against him because of the immunity he had as a state governor, but now that he has handed over power to Charles Soludo, he has lost his immunity.
Uwajaren however didn’t disclose his exact crime.
He said;
“Obiano has been on our watchlist for sometime now. He had immunity as a governor and that is why we could not arrest him before now.
“Today he lost the immunity and was traveling out of the country before we finally arrested him”.
Media Personality, Latasha Ngwube has reacted to yesterday’s Slapping incident between Mrs. Ebele Obiano and Mrs Bianca Ojukwu.
Bianca Ojukwu in the aftermath of the SLAPPING Incident
In her words ;
I have a question, I know Michelle could Neverrrr but per chance someone slapped Mrs Obama publicly, would Barack just sit there clad in sunglasses & face mask while unlooking?
Let’s be clear, forget stanning a Queen.
Mrs Ojukwu slapped Mrs Obiano.. Doesn’t matter if the latter got loose with her lips, the former chose violence on which she can actually face assault charges.
Senator Oduah’s position that the “shameful act” belongs to just one is a false narrative.
They both could have done better.
Trying to make or vilify one just to uplift the other makes no sense especially as an older woman who has played at the political table of the “Big boys” in the capacity of Aviation minister and Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Caution them both for the uplifting of Anambra Women and Nigerian women at large or stay neutral/
This kind of politics helps none of us-the masses on the long run.
Popular Nigerian Media Personality, Temilola Akinmuda has taken to her social media page to share the ‘signpost’ she saw at an Estate that has made her livid with Nigerians.
Public Display of Affection isn’t quite Illegal in Nigeria, but it is not something that is also common. However for an Estate in Lagos which has remained unnamed, PDA is strictly forbidden.
Temilola shared the photo and wrote ;
Imagine buying a house in this estate and they put up this stupid sign. When it is not secondary school. What is wrong with Nigerians.
Popular facebook Daddy G.O, Evangelist Victor Edet has defended his fellow clergymen who are proud owners of expensive Private Jets and he has averred that it is not sin to own one.
He made the statement while criticizing those who criticize Pastors as he questioned them for not also lampooning worldly musicians who send sinful messages via their songs and use the money they get for vain things like Gold and Diamonds instead of helping their poor fans.
In his words ;
THERE’S absolutely nothing wrong if a Pastor buys private Jet’s or Build Expensive Schools. No Pastor will go to Hell for buying Private Jet.
–
Most of you criticizing Pastor’s for having Private Jet’s and expensive Schools pay 10,000 Naira or Above to watch Worldly Musicians Perform on stage. These Musicians use your money to build Houses that you can’t afford.
–
These Musicians tells you through their song’s to get rich through any means, even though it’s takes you to go Into Rituals, Internet Fraud, selling your soul. They Promote hard drugs, Sex. The Female Musicians walks around naked, they Promote Dirty Lifestyle.
–
They waste money on Gold and Diamond Instead of helping their Poor Fan’s. They waste money on Women and Hard Drugs Instead of giving alms to the Poor.
–
Your Pastor did not ask you to steal, take hard drugs, Sleeps around with women, kill to get wealth. Yet you speak against them for Building Expensive Schools and spare the worldly Singers who use your money to Womanize, Smoke Weed and Build Houses that you their fan’s can’t afford.
–
The Church is not the problem of Nigeria. Bad Governance and Nigerian Musicians are the Problem. If you move around the Streets and ask the Crooks, Theives, Yahoo Boy’s, Hoodlums who their Mentors are, they will never mention a Pastor, but the Worldly Singer’s.
–
Pastor’s are not the one that Increased the Price of Diesel, Gas, Fuel, Food Stuffs. Pastor’s are not the cause why Nigeria can’t boast of 24hrs electricity and Good Road’s.

According to @prookieyah on Twitter, she heard the report from a friend and doesn’t know the caterer personally so she can’t verify the authenticity of the story.
Read below,
“So a friend told me today about a caterer that got a job catering to about 30 people and was told to come with servers too. She was well paid ahead of the event.
They travelled long distance mostly inside bush, she was so scared and convinced they’ve been kidnapped only to get to the place and see humans being slaughtered and butchered. She was asked to cook and fry. All along she was scared for her life and her staffs so she agreed to cook. Said while cooking, cars started trooping in and demanding parts they want like roundabout and shaki.
They asked her if the food she made was delicious and she said yes out of fear, they asked her and the servers to pick a meat each to eat. They obliged because they feared for their lives. She’s since then reported to the police but can’t remember location.”
This forex broker has the key to slowing down your weekends.
The phrase “You snooze, you lose” is most relatable at the weekend.
The weekend seems to pass by in a flash – it’s like you feel the rush of finishing from work at 5 pm on Friday and then you blink and it’s suddenly Monday again.
The Sunday Blues is a real thing among Nigerians. Ask around. Many people feel overwhelmed and exhausted that yet another Monday lurks two short days away from Friday. If you look through Twitter a lot, you’ve likely seen people have conversations about creating petitions for 3-day weekends.
It’s lovely to unwind from the week’s pile of activity, and while we may crave even more free time, there is that back-of-mind feeling that our time of rest may be a time we could use to be productive, invest in ourselves, or put plainly- make money.
So, why do some (most, to be honest) weekends seem so short?
According to Laura Vanderkam, author of Off the Clock, weekends never seem to be long enough because we take a break from staying mindful. To paraphrase Vanderkam, “Weekends feel short because we don’t think about how we are spending our time… all most want to do is nothing, but that’s a recipe for a completely forgettable weekend”.
A simple solution, now, is to make a plan. A plan to recover, rest and have fun in a way that brings you closer to your financial goals, so you don’t feel like your time is going to waste.
Catch up quick: Cryptocurrency is all the rage right now, so it’s unlikely that you’ve never heard of cryptocurrency, except you’re my great aunt Carol, who was gifted some crypto art (NFTs) last Christmas. She has since then read up on this whole new world and now owns a couple of coins. So, if you don’t know what cryptocurrency is, you’re likely on your own with that.
Crypto is a hot topic not only among investors but in popular culture too. The trading hours of the crypto market add to the craziness. Neither holidays/Sundays nor weekends exist in the crypto calendar. You can trade not just all day but even all night. Services like OctaFX combine the best of a crypto wallet and an exchange, bringing you closer to investing goals. They have a practice trading account so newbies can give it a try before they use real funds.
Up until recently, the global Forex broker OctaFX kept trading activity for forex and cryptocurrency open only Mondays through Fridays. Truthfully, no matter how fast the weekends seem to go by, it’s always a long wait for open markets on Monday. Now engaged all week long, users have the opportunity to increase their financial worth 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Have a boring weekend? Trade crypto on OctaFX.
Have a great weekend? OctaFX makes it even better for you when you trade cryptocurrency. If it’s bringing you closer to your goals, it makes perfect sense.
This is in no way investment advice, it’s just to spread the word about OctaFX helping you leverage the future.
So, do you want your weekend time to flow slowly as you go about your same old routine, or do you want to look back at your weekend fulfilled, marveling at how much progress you were able to make towards your financial goals in such a seemingly short amount of time? There’s no right answer, but the choice is yours.
In many ways, the past few weeks have been a breakthrough for OctaFX in Nigeria, with the icing on the cake being awarded ‘Best Forex Broker Nigeria 2022’ by The Global Banking & Finance Review. To be honest, this is not a surprise. OctaFX is that one broker that keeps on giving.
While it would be fabulous if OctaFX could come up with some way to make the weekends longer, for now, we will make do with moving towards our financial goals as swiftly as the weekends go.

Billionaire economist and philanthropist, Tony Elumelu has spoken up against the untold hardship and current happenings in the country.
Taking to Twitter today, March 17, Tony Elumelu said he heard his colleagues at the office complaining about the issues they’ve been facing in the country and he couldn’t help but wonder why 90% of Nigerians are in abject poverty when the country is rich in natural resources.
Speaking further, the business owner appealed to Nigerians to demand for leaders that can deliver in the forthcoming 2023 election, otherwise evil will continue to prevail.
His words,
“This morning, I am listening to my colleagues at the office bemoan the very pressing issues that they face everyday in this country, and how things have been getting worse and worse – no electricity for 5 days, hikes in the price of diesel, frightening food inflation, etc.
How can a country so rich in natural resources have 90% of its citizens living in hardship and poverty? I have often said that access to electricity is critical for our development, alleviation of poverty and hardship. And speaking of security, our people are afraid!
Businesses are suffering. How can we be losing over 95% of oil production to thieves? Look at the Bonny Terminal that should be receiving over 200k barrels of crude oil daily, instead it receives less than 3,000 barrels, leading the operator @Shell to declare force majeure.
Why are we paying taxes if our security agencies can’t stop this? It is clear that the reason Nigeria is unable to meet its OPEC production quota is not because of low investment but because of theft, pure and simple!
Meanwhile, oil producing countries are smiling as their foreign reserves rising. What is Nigeria’s problem? We need to hold our leaders more accountable! Elections are coming – security and resources need to be everyone’s agenda – let’s be vocal for our nation’s priority.
Evil prevails when good people are silent. We need to be vocal about 2023. Let’s focus on Nigeria. Demand and advocate for leaders that deliver. In 2023, Nigeria must be on a strong trajectory for progress and development.”

The statement read in part,
“I deeply regret the inconvenience caused Nigerians, following a prolonged shortage of petroleum products, something that our administration has successfully averted in our seven years in office. This administration knows the fuel shortage has placed a strain on Nigerian citizens and businesses, but relief is on the way.
I especially apologize to all sections of society for this. The government is working round the clock to attend to this issue. An action plan agreed upon earlier this month is being implemented to address the scarcity. Working together with the Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria (MOMAN) and the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), this plan is now bearing fruit.
Sufficient fuel supply has returned to a handful of states, with the queues at stations falling. In the coming days, we expect this to be the case across the rest of the country. Looking to the longer term, funds are being targeted toward keeping fuel available and affordable for the country.
The international energy markets have surged drastically in recent months, the government will however ensure that consumers are protected against these price spikes.
I have received information that some people are not behaving properly at the depots and among owners of petrol stations, and in this regard, I have directed the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), the NNPC and the entire security apparatus of the nation to take strong action against those responsible. On the issue of electricity blackouts being experienced across the nation, the blackouts seen in the national grid are also being addressed.
A dip in hydroelectric generation due to seasonal pressures has coincided with technical and supply problems at thermal stations. On this, the government is also working tirelessly to resolve the issues at these stations, to guarantee sufficient power flows into the national grid.”
