Nollywood actress and producer, Chioma Akpotha has given an insight into her personal life and family in an exclusive interview with Saturday Beats.
Speaking in the interview, the thespian disclosed that she doesn’t like sharing details about her personal life with the public, and her real age is not publicly known although it is believed that she is 42.
She went on to clarify the notion that she has two sons, noting that she indeed has two children but they are a boy and a girl.

“I don’t like talking about my personal life. My age is not known to the public and I am not revealing it because I see no reason to. Contrary to what is in the public domain, I don’t have two sons; I actually have a boy and a girl.
“Although it has been tough raising them, I have been able to handle it, sometimes with the help of my siblings when I’m not available to be with them.
God has been faithful and I have been able to manage myself over the years. I have been able to stay out of scandals by being myself.
I don’t go out of my way to do anything in particular. Being a celebrity does not affect how I view life. I have always viewed life the same way, irrespective of my celebrity status.”

A Nigerian lady has sparked reactions on social media after she said ₦10,000 can no longer cook a pot of stew from scratch in Nigeria.
Taking to Twitter to bemoan the increase in the price of foodstuff in the country, the lady identified as Ore, listed the food items used in making stew and the prices.

Media personality, Tolu Oniru better known as Toolz, has reacted to an old tweet of a man who criticized married woman for ordering cooked food from vendors.

The man had taken to the popular microblogging platform, Twitter, to express disdain at married women who order soups and stews from vendors, instead of cooking the meals themselves.

Woman confronts man after she caught him doing “rituals” at a junction in Abraham Adesanya estate, Lekki (video)
A video making the rounds online has shown the moment a woman confronted a man performing rituals at a junction in Abraham Adesanya Estate, Lekki, Lagos state.
The incident reportedly happened in the early hours of Tuesday, April 5.
On sighting the man, the woman began screaming “Holy Ghost Fire” and asked what he was doing.
The man, who was barefoot, ignored her and threw something into the bush, then went to the place where he left his slippers.
He wore his slippers and started leaving the scene, but the woman ran after him and kept asking him why he was performing rituals at the junction where she passes.
The man ignored her while she continued to run after him to confront him.
It was however gathered that the man was later arrested by the estate security.

A lady has narrated how a young lady who recently relocated abroad landed in jail after helping her ex-boyfriend pick up a parcel.
The lady identified as PuffyPearl on Twitter revealed that the lady picked up the parcel at her ex-lover’s request, but unknown to her, the content of the parcel was drugs.
Unfortunately, the said lady was nabbed with the parcel and is now in jail, and all efforts to reach her ex-boyfriend have proved abortive.
Narrating the incident, Peart wrote,
“This girl just relocated, her ex finding out she’s now in his city, came begging, asking to see her. He proposed they sit somewhere and talk. Asked her help him get top up in a store nearby and help collect a parcel there for him. Parcel was drugs and she’s now in jail.

According to the doctor known on Twitter as @the_beardedsina, who took to the micro-blogging platform to raise awareness about this practice, these women are told they have a cryptic pregnancy and will continue to believe this because they have pregnancy symptoms, not realizing they are being pumped with pregnancy hormone injections.
He added that these hospitals take money from these women and end up giving their victims an “arranged baby”.

UK-based Nigerian law student dies after eating ‘cannabis sweet’
A 23-year-old UK-based Nigerian law student, Damilola Olakanmi, has died after consuming cannabis sweets she bought online.
The Hertfordshire University student is said to have bought the sweets through a messaging app and they were delivered to her home in Ilford, east London, where she lived with her mother.
Olakanmi fell ill after consuming the sweet on Tuesday, March 29, 2022.
According to the Mirror UK, she consumed the sweets with her 21-year-old friend, a US student visiting the UK. However, while her friend survived, she died.
The deceased is reported to be the only child of her mother. Her mom’s friend, Richard Taylor, who spoke to the standard, said, “Wumi has lost her only child-she has nothing now. They had to hold her up because she broke down every time a friend came to the house to give her support.”
The police report that a 37-year-old man, Leon Brown, was arrested on Friday in connection with the incident.
The suspect was arrested and charged with having intent to supply a Class B synthetic cannabinoid, being involved in the supply of a synthetic cannabinoid, and having intent to supply a psychoactive substance.

RRS stops 67-year-old man from jumping into Lagos Lagoon on his birthday after wife abandoned him
Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Lagos State Police Command managed to prevent a 67-year-old man from committing suicide on his birthday.
The elderly man, identified as Oluwatoye Bamgboye, from Oju-Ore, Ogun State, was stopped from jumping into the lagoon by the officers on patrol of the 3rd Mainland Bridge on Tuesday, April 5.
Speaking on what led him to attempt suicide, Bamgboye revealed that he had to sell his house, land, and automobile due to a personal difficulty. With that, he still couldn’t solve the problem. He got a loan and the problem still persisted.
He further explained hat he secured a job and on the resumption date, he was informed that the job had been given to someone else.
He also stated that as a result of all the problems he encountered, his wife left him.
“Today being my birthday, I have decided to end it all. The burden and the frustration is too much for me to bear. My wife has abandoned me in the process,” he said.
Confirming the incident in a statement, the police said the 67-year-old man was attempting to jump into the Lagos Lagoon inward Lagos Island when the officers stopped him.

Stan Nze claimed that he intended to take his wife, Jessica Obasi, on a trip abroad and propose to her there, but she had a film to shoot during that time, so she had to cancel the trip.
Jessica said she prepared a series of surprises for Stan’s birthday, which was May 15, three days after hers, to make it up to him for canceling the trip.

South African lady displays her four certificates during bride price negotiation
A South African bride-to-be has proven her worth to her man and his family during her introductory rite and bride price negotiation, also known as Lobola.
Lobola is a Swahili word that means “bride price” or bride wealth” and it is commonly used by people in South Africa, Zimbabwe as well as some South and East African countries.
Lobola negotiation is a process of presentation of a payment made by the prospective groom to the bride’s family.
During a recent Lobola negotiation, the young woman proudly exhibited her four credentials to the potential suitor’s family as a warning that her bride price would not be cheap.

Meanwhile, a lady known as Queen Cindy on Twitter has taken to the platform to state that a lady’s bride price should be determined by the size of her breast.
According to her, the amount of bride price that would be paid on her bride will be determined by whether a breast is big or small.

Woman who dumped her husband of 20 years to marry ‘Holy Spirit’ found dead
Elizabeth Nalem, a Kenyan woman and mother of six who reportedly divorced her husband after a 20-year marriage to marry the holy spirit, is dead.
Elizabeth, from Makutano town in West Pokot County exchanged wedding vows with the Holy Spirit on Tuesday, May 25th, 2021 in a lavish ceremony and later travelled to Amudat District in Uganda for her honeymoon and to spread the Gospel, as God ‘instructed’ her. ICYMI.
Confirming her death on Tuesday, Kapenguria OCPD Kipkemoi Kirui, said that the decomposed and mutilated body of the woman was found in a forest on Saturday.
Police reports indicate that Nalem had left her home a week earlier with a panga and a walking stick headed to the forest. According to the police, there’s a possibility that wild animals attacked the deceased and feasted on her remains.
Kirui said investigations have been launched to establish whether she was attacked, adding that the body must have been in the bush for more than a week.
Apart from disowning her husband, the mother of six had also closed her eatery and refused to go back to her town council officer job until she accomplished her mission.
“God has shown (sic) me to travel to the United States when am done with Uganda. He told me to traverse the world but I told him I won’t be able and requested him to recruit other members to help me in spreading the gospel,” she had said.
She added that her husband had pleaded with her to go back home but she had refused until her newly ‘wedded’ Spirit husband granted her permission.
