A video making the rounds online has captured the heartwarming moment a couple with Down syndrome reunited at the airport.
It was gathered the lady identified as Nick Doyle first met her beau, Gabi Angelini, when she traveled to Detroit, Michigan, for the National Down Syndrome Society’s annual convention.
The love between the pair is said to have been instantaneous, a love at first sight. And by the end of the conference, they had become inseparable.

The decision of a Catholic priest to ban Igbo music from his church has led to a debate among Catholics of various tribes on social media.
The Parish Priest of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Ewu-Owa Gberigbe in Ikorodu, Lagos, Rev. Fr. James Anelu, recently banned Igbo songs and choruses in his parish.
According to reports, during the second collection, the priest became enraged and abruptly interrupted a soul-lifting song, stating that Igbos could not continue to dominate other people in his Catholic church.
Although he has now been suspended, the issues has stirred diverse reactions from Catholics from various tribes on social media.
Reacting, Nigerian journalist, Moji Danisa supported the priest’s stance and accused Igbos of always trying to “colonise” anywhere they go.
Women’s rights activist, Laila St. Matthew-Daniel, also weighed in on the matter in defense of the suspended priest.
Laila St. Matthew-Daniel accused the Igbos of wanting to take over wherever they find themselves. In her opinion they are not different from “fanatical Muslims”.
In her words,
“I have Igbos in my family so I speak in love. I also love the BEAT of the Igbo tune but makes no sense to me if I don’t understand what they are singing or shouting about. The issue I have is the need for the Igbos to be so domineering and wanting to take over a situation. It is in their DNA. Believe that.
“I can’t remember one of the Colonialists, when giving an analysis of the different tribes did say the Igbos are stubborn, opinionated and unwilling to be led. YES – the war was a sad situation BUT HOW did it start? I don’t see any difference really in the Igbos and some faction of fanatical Muslims who go to a place and want to take over the place.
“Latin is the universal LANGUAGE of the Catholic Church – so people should not go there. If they juxtapose English with it – then people would understand. I don’t think it is the language as such but a ‘take over’ attitude and behaviour. When I was coming back on a trip on Turkish Airlines, it was horrible most of the time. The LOUD banter in the Igbo language was grating. The Yorubas also do same but not as much.
I am going to TURN OFF Notifications because I don’t have time for those who don’t think deep before commenting – and are ready to exhibit their DNA. By the way – character DNA can be controlled. It takes a willingness because I have very confident Igbo relatives. Coming to the priest, he should have been more tactful. But I am not privy to his experience before this. Yes Igbos fill the church most times but it is not THEIR church but it belongs to everyone.”

A Nigerian pastor, Prophet Isaiah Wealth, has berated people who say that a man and a woman are equal in a home.
During a recent sermon in his church, the prophet declared that the man is the head of the home, just as God is the head of the church.
According to him, it’s God’s commandment that the wife must totally submit to her husband. He then added that a woman breaks honour and violates heaven when she makes the washing of dishes her husband’s duty.
“No Submission to any system or any person has crept into our homes. Husband and wife is the same, 50% 50% shares. Nobody is the head.
God told us that the husband is the head of the house. Society is telling us that everybody is the same. In other words, husbands should wash the dishes and the wife should watch TV and it is acceptable.
It is the right of the husband if he decides to sweep and wash the dishes if he wants to. You break honor when make it your husband’s duty to wash the dishes. You have violated heaven. I don’t care what they told you in the magazines. It is written, the husband is the head. When you violate your husband, you violate God” He said.

Ordinary citizens are increasingly becoming the victims of our irresponsible state. Saturday, we spoke about this when I called to commiserate with him on the death of his uncle. He told me that Etsako is facing a trio of evil: (1) Bandits (2) kidnappers; (3) Yahoo ritualists
Sad, he has become a victim of the insecurity in our country. While we are doing all we can to secure his freedom and the freedoms of those taken with him, we ask for your prayer.”

Media personality, Uti Nwachukwu, has taken to Twitter to share his thoughts about Jesus Christ and how he would have been treated if he was a Nigerian in these times.
According to him, he would have been labeled a fetish man, an enemy of progress, and some people would have burnt him alive for preaching the truth.
He asserted that Christians would have placed their “mummy and daddy G.Os” above him because of the “chains of religious conditioning & spiritual blindness/Laziness” that is plaguing Nigerians.
Read his full post below,
“The older I get in this country, the deeper I understand the story of Christ. His own people killed HIM just because he spoke the truth to set them free o! Of course the truth also threatened the business and political gains of the church
We are no different In this country. If Jesus was a Nigerian in these times, they would have labeled him a Jazz Man and enemy of progress.
Society would have put tyres on him and burned him while exalting their Daddy and Mummy G.O’s that preach prosperity and threaten all who speak against them.
I hope the person/people wey do us this thing consistently turn in their graves until Nigerians are broken free from the chains of religious conditioning & spiritual blindness/Laziness!
U can deny the truth, hate it, attack it all you want, But Life will always humble U to accept it at some point.
The new threat now is MONEY. If Jesus were Nigerian in these times, majority would not have listened to him cos in their heads, na only who get money fit tell them wetin make sense. How dare a poor man speak sense! How dare a poor man teach us how to think& set our minds free! Lol
Not thinking that if Jesus wanted to be the biggest Job man,He had the Charisma&Wisdom plus spiritual influence to manipulate any and everyone into sowing, thereby making him one of the Richest in the World.
Instead he chose LOVE. Wow! He was God, yes, But HE BECAME MAN! for us
So if this country is ever going to change, lt’ll have to start from how the average person here thinks and what they have been taught to respect.
If not the experience would be recycled with every generation.
A Nigerian man has narrated his experience with his girlfriend who relocated to the UK when he was still in first year of medical school.

According to him, they didn’t see physically for seven years but are now happily married with children. He went on to encourage people to encourage their significant other to pursue purpose and accomplish their dreams.
Read below,
“2004 I was in first year medical school, when my ‘girl friend’ visited me from Lagos and told me she got visa to UK and will be moving.
That night I thought hard about it, and could hardly sleep. She said she had got everything ready except flight ticket which was about 160k
In the morning, I decided to let her go, if it is meant to be we will work it out. A year earlier I met when I was processing my student visa to Uni Omaha for a Pre-pharm. And no jupita could have stopped me from going had I got the visa.
Before she left, I took her to the salon and got her hair braided, I gave the money for the flight ticket. And watched her enter Ifesinachi bus back to Lagos, not knowing if I would see her again. She flew out that Saturday.
She never came back and hasn’t come back to Nigeria since then. I never travelled out until 7yrs later after my internship. Today, I am married to that same lady. And we are blessed with children.
Marriage should be a union of purpose and vision. Each should encourage the other to pursue their dreams and accomplish his or her purpose.
Guess what; from my second year, I never bought clothes or phones for my self. She was sending clothes and designers perfumes, newest Nokia phones each year, while I was sending food stuffs. She was calling almost on daily basis, on normal call. She got me my first laptop.”
Following questions from netizens about how they handled their sexual urge during their long distance relationship, the man hinted that he married his wife as a virgin and she didn’t sleep with anyone while she was away.

“Touch down Lagos Nigeria and the heat at the airport is insane, why will the A/C at arrivals not work??? The fans blowing hot air and the officers having to work under such circumstances is SAD. What a country
I’m standing at arrivals dripping in sweat and all I can think is the officers in the box who have to endure this daily. Like we have all just accepted this as normal cos we go into our cars with A/C’a after but these people who work here under such harsh conditions are human too
No wonder they take out their anger and impatience on travelers. You enter Nigeria and pick up stress. Yuck”

“I was one of those kids they used to call ‘Hammer Headed’, ‘OGORstina’ and ‘Ekpengbe forehead’… Infact one of my aunt’s used to call me ‘Beauty’, she said she was using it to prophecy into my life that I will be pretty someday… Well there was a time I allowed it get to me, there was a time that I couldn’t step out without being heavily decked up in makeup. I would do all manners of things to hide my flaws because I felt imperfect.
Now the only thing that has changed is that I’m madly in love with my imperfect me, with my ekpengbe forehead , with my knock knees, with my cellulites and stretch marks like map of Africa! I’m in love with my skin and everything within… And guess what? I can still decide to change or hide a flaw because that too is ok! what I won’t do is allow anybody’s perception of me direct the decisions I make for myself. I am Beautiful…You are beautiful too!”

Sometime ago in 2021, the Lagos State Government sealed 30 Water Factories across the State for unhygienic production environment, failure to comply with regulatory provisions as well as operating without adhering to good manufacturing practices.
Executive Secretary of LASWARCO, Mrs. Funke Adepoju, who disclosed this to newsmen at the time, said the enforcement was in line with the mandate of the Commission to protect residents from unhygienic water consumption, stressing that the exercise would be sustained.
In her words ;
“In as much as we have the mandate to ensure that operators remain in business, we also cannot fold our arms and allow infractions to fester without being addressed. The primary regulatory mandate of the Commission is to ensure that operators in the water abstraction, production and distribution industry comply with best manufacturing procedures to safeguard the health of the people”.
Mrs. Adepoju said the level of poor and unwholesome practices discovered in some water factories in Lagos was not only disheartening but frightening, vowing that Lagos State Water Regulatory Commission (LASWARCO) would do all within its powers to ward off any attempt to put the lives of residents in jeopardy.
Nigerian Socialite, Obi Cubana, has taken to his social media page to lend his voice against the societal pressures that causes young people to go any route in a bid to “chill with the big boys”.
Obi Cubana averred that the pressure in this age and time is highly responsible for the spike in depression, sadness, crime and immorality.
He then advised that the old ones should teach the youths to learn to love themselves and also learn not to live above their earnings in a bid to belong.
Read his post below ;
Good morning my fellow Nigerian Youths!
Today let’s talk about SOCIETAL/ FAMILY PRESSURES!!!
Societal/family pressures are expectations that affect the entire community. Our youths are constantly forced to act and feel a certain way. Society enjoys dictating how our youths should behave. They feel the pressure of fitting into society’s norm. In a world where we want everything quick quick, youths are often faced with a lot of pressure from both the society and members of their families.
While family is fun, it can also be full of tensions. The pressures placed on them to meet certain standard often lead to harmful outcomes. Do you know that a lot of youths are undergoing depression because of the pressure and stress created by society and family? Some have resorted to drug abuse and excessive use of alcohol.
Most young people had to leave school just to fend for their families. At a young age, the families are already heaping “unrealistic “ responsibilities on them. Young girls are on the streets because they need to send money home. Girls above 30 are expected to settle down in a man’s house especially a “rich man “. Young girls are put under pressure to have this “perfect body”. Same with the boys . Have you ever wondered who made those rules? The struggle of “fitting in” is becoming more prominent.
There’s literally pressure from every side…Pressure from work to meet a certain target especially in banking systems. Pressure from society to dress or look certain way. Pressure from school to pass all exams and get a certain grade. Pressure from our local churches to donate for one thing or another. Pressure from friends (peer pressure) and it goes on and on…
Even on social media, some are now depressed for not getting a certain amount of likes on their posts.
The strength & quality of social networks is not helping at all.
What does this mean for our youths? Depression, sadness, crime , immorality etc
Let’s begin to shift our values. Let’s teach our youths to learn to accept and love themselves. Let’s teach them not to live above their earnings in a bid to belong.
Actress Ronke Odusanya’s baby daddy, Saheed “Jago” Olanrewaju, has made a U-turn, one year after requesting that a DNA test be carried out to ascertain the paternity of his daughter.

Popular Nigerian priest, Fr Kelvin Ugwu, has taken to his page to share an extremely sad story of how a lady he was called upon to pray for, died after it was discovered that doctors had forgotten a piece of cloth in her stomach after they carried out a cesarean section on her.
According to the clergyman, the piece of cloth made her sick for a long time, and her family members sought spiritual help after many hospitals they visited said nothing was wrong with her. The priest said it was when he was called for prayers that he asked that the deceased be taken to a different hospital where it was discovered that a piece of cloth was forgotten in her stomach.
In his words ;
”Sometimes I may appear hard on some issues, so many people might misunderstand my intention, but what I talk about here are born out of experiences.
I had an experience that broke my heart. It was after that experience that I told myself not to be silent anymore on religious abuses and bad governance. I sincerely pray and hope that after reading this, it won’t spoil your mood much.
In May 2016 when I was still working in Lagos, a parishioner ran to me requesting I come to pray for her neighbour who was seriously sick. I could read all over her that this neighbour of hers must be dying, so I hurriedly followed her.
When I entered the sick woman’s house, everywhere was dark. In Lagos, most buildings have windows in which opening them are as good as closing them because of their proximity to the wall of the next building. Most people use torchlight or candlelight in their rooms even on a sunny day.
With the aid of candlelight, I saw the woman sitting on her bed. I could see PAINS written all over her. And when I say pains, I mean the one that makes you understand that the word “pain” cannot truly describe real pain. She was wearing nothing. Her stomach was big, about the size of a slim woman carrying nine months’ pregnancy. But I was told she was not pregnant. This got me confused.
I was told she delivered a baby girl in January through Caesarean Section (CS) in a hospital in Port Harcourt. Her problem started after the operation. Nothing happened to the baby though, but the woman left the hospital with the feeling that everything was not alright. Few days after, the stitches loosened; she went back to the hospital, and it was sown again.
Few weeks later, she started feeling serious pains, her stomach started protruding, so she went to the hospital. Scans and tests were conducted, but nothing was discovered. According to the doctor, nothing was wrong with her medically. But since she complained of pains, she was given painkillers. When the problem persisted, her sister brought her to Lagos.
As expected, since the doctor already said she was medically fine, everyone and including herself started feeling her problem was spiritual. She sought spiritual help from many angles. People started suggesting names of those considered as “powerful” ministers and “powerful” churches.
Her sister took her to a church in Lagos for prayers and deliverance. She was being carried every day for prayers. She was practically in the church every day. The pastor will pray and pray, tell her to drink Goya oil, ask her to fast and do so many things I just don’t want to state here. Every day, her situation got worse.
By the time I met her, it was almost getting to five months since the CS. By this time, her stomach had protruded so much that you can’t differentiate it from a nine-month pregnant woman. Yet, she was not pregnant and there was no medical explanation for it. The pains I saw on her face, I can’t even wish my ‘enemies’ such pains.
After praying for her, I told them to go to a better hospital for another scan, and that they should do it immediately. With the help of her sister, she was taken to Gbagada General Hospital in Lagos. They carried out a fresh scan. After the scan, the result shocked everyone.
It was discovered that there was something foreign in her lower abdomen around the intestine. According to the doctor, a piece of cloth was forgotten in her stomach after the CS. This piece of cloth had already decayed inside, mixed up with the intestine, and had destroyed some delicate tissues. There was no other way for her except an operation in which the chance of survival was slim.
The operation was done. It was successful. But the woman went into a coma. I prayed for her, visited her, but she never woke up from that coma. That was how she died.
This broke my heart greatly. I cried.
In tears, I thought of the sacrifices women go through to give birth. I thought of the careless hospital and doctor that did the CS. I thought of the same hospital telling her that she was medically well, almost like telling her that her problem was spiritual. I thought of the churches and pastors she visited, the number of Goya oil she drank for four months that even got the situation worsened. I thought of many things. It was from that day I told myself, I may not be able to do much, but I won’t be silent over abuses in the name of healing or miracle and bad government.
You may attack me when I talk about so many things online, you may hate my gut and blackmail me. . .you may think you are more spiritual, but I know that one day you will search your heart, one day you will remember all I have been saying, one day you will learn that my advocacies are not about catholic versus the others.
I am a strong lover of God. I pray countless times in a day. I believe in God, in miracle, in his mighty powers. . . But, I also believe in the God who gives reasoning and common sense to deal with practical issues. God of reasoning is not at war with God of faith. That is why some of you are not balance. You have faith, but you don’t have sense.”
The moment you are sick and you go to the hospital and you are told that nothing is wrong with you medically, the immediate thing people do is to begin looking for priests or pastors they consider as highly spiritual. Now, imagine that you are in that condition and come to Fr Kelvin and I pray for you and tell you that your problem is not spiritual, won’t you consider me unspiritual? Won’t you leave me and go to another pastor or priest that is “more powerful” than myself? So my question is, if one doctor tells you that there is nothing medically wrong with you, yet you still feel physical pain in your body, what stops you from going to another “more powerful doctor” or hospital?
