First batch of Nigerians from Ukraine arrive Abuja (photos)
The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) has announced that the first batch of Nigerian evacuees from Ukraine has arrived in Abuja.
The commission made this disclosure on Friday, March 4, via her official Twitter handle. According to NIDCOM, the passengers, numbering about 450 from Romania, landed at the private jet terminal of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport by 7:10 am (WAT) via a Max Air flight this morning at about 7.10am.
They are mostly students who fled Ukraine to Romania following Russia’s invasion of the Eastern European country.
They were received by government officials and are expected to undergo documentation after which they will head home and self-isolate in line with the COVID-19 protocols.

Speaking to CNN Africa, Anjola-Oluwa Ero-Phillips, a Nigerian medical student in Ukraine, said he and around 70 other Nigerian students are stranded with no way to legally leave Lviv in the west of the country, close to the border with Poland.
The ‘oh my gawd’ crooner was moved by their predicament and donated 5 million naira to a crypto wallet set up by a humanitarian organization to provide them with food and travel arrangement.

Heartbroken lady narrates how she lost her boyfriend to her friend
A Nigerian lady has narrated how she lost her boyfriend to her friend.
On Twitter, the lady identified as @Lolochichy recounted the heartbreaking incident, saying it began with the friend bringing food to her man at odd hours wearing sexy outfits.
She noted that one time the friend cooked egusi and pounded yam and brought it to her boyfriend’s house around 8:40 pm in lingerie. She disclosed that she was around the first time, and they ate it in silence.
However, the friend did it again, but this time she wasn’t around and her boyfriend went on to have sex with her. Lolochichy disclosed that when she got to know, she had to leave the friendship and relationship.
Narrating the incident, she wrote,
“Once had a friend who cooked egusi and pounded yam and brought to my bf’s house 8.40pm in a lingerie. Unfortunately i was around and we all ate the food in silence… For people asking how the story ended, she did it again when i was out of time and they ended up having sex. Nigerian lady shares video of her encounter with 419ers who were trying to use an old trick on her (watch video)
A brave lady has taken to her social media to share a video that recorded her experience with con-men who tried to use a very old trick on her.
According to the Lady identified as Lily, she met them in a taxi she boarded to work. One of the men who alighted from the car, paid in dollars but was called back by the driver who told him that he’s been overpaying.
The man who paid in dollars claimed that he’s in Nigeria to buy cocoa seeds and oil, but wants to make a quick stop at the Senegalese embassy.
Moments later, the driver then tried to persuade the lady to accompany them to where they will change the foreign currency for the man as he won’t feel safe if he’s not there.
The lady politely told them she can’t as she’s on her way to work. The men then repeatedly tried to convince her to follow them, he also tried to emotionally blackmail her with bible passages that reflected on the need for someone to be a good samaritan to others.
She however rejected the offer.

Viral Video: Boy interrupts lecturer as he turns on a blender during a lecture (video)
A University student has gotten people talking on social media after he pulled a major stunt on his lecturer during a class.
The lad who may or may not be a student of the university interrupted a lecturer and turned on a blender to blend an unidentified item during a lecture.
The sound of the blender caught the attention of other students and they started laughing at his audacious move.
He then turned off the blender and asked for permission from the lecturer to continue. In response, the lecturer said he should have asked for permission first before using the blender, but surprisingly told him to continue.
UK-based Nigerian comedian, Wale Gates, re-posted the trending video on his Twitter page and opined that such can never happen in a Nigerian university because the student may spend extra years in the University as punishment.

Recall that the music star was called out on Wednesday, March 2, for allegedly hitting a lady with his car and fleeing the scene. According to reports, the lady was severely injured and was rushed to a nearby hospital by onlookers.
On Tuesday morning, a video that showed the moment police officers stormed his residence and whisked him away found its way to the internet.
Moments later, a woman who claimed she saw it all happen in a viral video gave an account of everything that happened at the accident scene. She said that Timaya had bashed the lady’s car with his G-Wagon when she came down to confront him and held on to his side-mirror.
The lady added that when Timaya saw that the lady wouldn’t let him go, he drove off while she was still holding his side-mirror, which left her with severe injuries.

“Shut up” – American rapper, 6lack slams Daniel Regha for saying Wizkid’s ”Made In Lagos” album is overrated
American rapper, 6lack has told controversial social media commentator, Daniel Regha, to ‘shut up’ after he made a comment about Wizkid’s ‘Made in Lagos’ album.
The ‘Pretty Little Fears’ hitmaker had taken to Twitter in 2021 to declare the album as the best album released during the pandemic.
He tweeted, ”Also @wizkidayo dropped the best album during this pandemic, of any genre.”
Responding, Daniel Regha who is popular for analyzing trending issues and dropping his hot takes, disagreed with 6lack and said the album is highly overrated.

I was angry because he supports me financially – Woman pictured wielding big stone says she wanted to take revenge for her boyfriend injured during match
A woman who was pictured running across a stadium in Nairobi, Kenya, with a big stone, has revealed the reason behind her action.
In the incident that occurred on Sunday, February 13, her boyfriend identified as George Odinga was seriously injured during a brawl between football officials and some fans.
It was gathered that some fans attempted to jump over the fence during a match to avoid paying the entrance fee of Sh200, which caused major chaos in the stadium. Three people were reportedly injured during the fracas, including the lady’s lover.
The woman who has now been identified as Winnie Nyar Kasagam ran into the stadium wielding a large stone, and the moment which was photographed quickly went viral in Kenya.
Speaking in an interview with The Standard on Wednesday, March 3, Winnie, a 29-year-old mother of three, explained that she wanted to take revenge for her boyfriend who was lying injured in the stadium.
Her words,
“I am a calm person. The Winnie you saw carrying a stone at the stadium wasn’t the Winnie that every other person knows. That day I was emotionally disturbed; my heart was aching. And you know when the heart aches, the mind and body responds,” Winnie said in an interview with Standard Group journalist Stephen Mukangai.
“My boyfriend had been assaulted. It angered me because my lover supports me financially, and is the bread-winner in our relationship.
“Initially, there were rumours that he’d been killed. I had just arrived at Kasarani Stadium, only to hear that (my boyfriend) Odinga had been seriously assaulted. When I entered the stadium, I found him lying on the ground unconscious.
“That triggered intense anger in me. I, immediately, picked a stone to go look for the person who had assaulted my spouse.
“On reaching where the assailant was, I was shocked to discover it was a person who I know well. I was aware of my anger problems. So, I dropped the stone to avert an action that I risk regretting later.”
She added that her lover, whom she has been dating for one year, is currently in a stable condition but his treatment has cost them a lot of money.
Speaking on the viral pictures, Winnie, a vegetable vendor, said, “I felt embarrassed when the photos went viral. That’s not the reputation I would want to have. Many people forwarded the pictures to me on WhatsApp. But I’m glad I have gradually gotten over it.”

Singer, Timaya, has denied reports that he was arrested after he was called out for allegedly hitting a lady with his car and fleeing the scene.
On Wednesday, March 2, an Instagram user accused the “Don Dada” singer of nearly killing her sister with his car, and hours later, videos of him being hauled away by men in police uniforms surfaced.
However, during an Instagram live session addressing the hit and run accusation, Timaya denied claims that he was arrested by the police.
According to him, he didn’t hit the lady and run away as alleged; he only drove off when four boys aggressively approached his vehicle. He insisted that he wasn’t arrested but was only at the station to give his statement.
“I did not hit the lady and run away, I only drove off when over four boys aggressively approached my vehicle. I was not arrested. I only went to the police station to give a statement, “he said.”

Nollywood actress and entrepreneur, Zainab Balogun has taken to social media to open up on her battle with stage 4 endometriosis.
The movie star, who is popular for her role in ‘God calling’, disclosed that she has been struggling with the illness for years, and started losing her hair because of the treatments she underwent.
According to Zainab who shared photos and videos of herself receiving Zoladex implant treatment, endometriosis doesn’t have a cure but can be managed with medical help.

Man reportedly dumps his 29-year-old fiancée for demanding an expensive wedding
A Nigerian man has reportedly dumped his fiancée for demanding an expensive wedding despite not wanting to contribute towards the ceremony.
According to @Okenwaokodu on Twitter, the groom-to-be tried to reason with his 29-year-old fiancée but she insisted on having a big wedding with 20 bridesmaids also known as ‘asoebi‘ ladies.
The groom-to-be has now reportedly called off the wedding after feeling overwhelmed by his fiancée’s demands.

“How I made a police officer apologize for slapping me” – Nigerian guy narrates, shares video (watch)
A Nigerian Twitter user, @princejalil11, has narrated how he made a police officer apologize to him after he assaulted and tried to imprison him falsely.
@princejalil11, A young Nigerian lawyer said he was driving when he was accosted by police officers who were in a white unregistered danfo bus. According to him, they told him to park as they wanted to search him, and he obliged.
He disclosed that after they went through his car documents and also found nothing from the search they conducted, they asked him to follow them to their station. On getting to the station they tried to “falsely imprison” him at their station by asking him to pay a gate fee before being allowed to go.
The layer noted that while he asked that the officers should let him go since he hadn’t committed any crime, a police officer came up to him and slapped him more than four times.
He said he turned and told the policeman that he will kneel down, get slapped and will apologize to him and it all happened.
Narrating the incident, he wrote,
“A white unregistered danfo bus blocked me as i was driving and three police men came out. they said i should park that they want to search me and i asked why me out of everyone driving? that upset them and they entered the car and told me to drive to the police station

Then more policemen came and told me i cannot leave. i kept trying to say my part then one of them came and started slapping me. guy slapped me more than 4 times. i then told him that today he will kneel down , get slapped and he will apologize to me. which all happened.”
He also shared a video of the police officer begging him after all he had ‘prophesied’ eventually happened.

Timaya breaks silence after being arrested for allegedly hitting a lady with his car and running away
Popular singer, Inetimi Timaya Odon better known as Timaya, has finally broken his silence after being accused of hitting a lady with his car and running away.
It was earlier reported that the victim’s sister took to social media to accuse the singer of knocking down her sister and fleeing the scene. She disclosed that the singer hit her sister’s car and when she came down to confront him, he drove off and in the process, injured her.
She disclosed that her sister was hospitalized after the incident and shared videos of her bloodied face and knee to back her claim. She also accused Timaya of blocking her on Instagram when she confronted him on the platform.
Emerging reports have it that the singer has now been arrested by officials of the Nigerian Police Force. A video circulating online captures the moment he was whisked away. Watch here
Meanwhile, the singer took to Twitter this morning to share a tweet, which seems like a reaction to the allegation levied against him. According to him, he doesn’t have evil intentions towards anyone.
He wrote, “Me no get bad mind for Nobody” with a sad face emoji.

Nigerian man shares photos of himself eating roasted frog meat, claims it cures impotence
A Nigerian man, identified as Baptist Amah, has taken to Facebook to share some of the purported health benefits of eating frog meat.
The chef based in Ikot Abasi, Akwa Ibom, shared photos of himself gleefully eating native rice with roasted frog and tilapia fish beside a river, and stated that he recreated a meal that the older generation used to eat.
He also claimed that eating frog meat has so many benefits including treating impotence in men, stroke, cancer, heart problem, asthma, and so on.
Amah who is known for posting food pictures on his Facebook blog wrote,
