TikTok beauty influencer, Emira D’Spain, has made history as the first black transgender model to work with ace lingerie brand, Victoria’s Secret.
Emira, who is popularly known as XOXOEMIRA on social media, took to her Instagram page to celebrate her win, while disclosing that it has been her lifelong dream to work with Victoria’s Secret.

A viral video has captured the emotional moment a Nigerian mother reunited with her mentally challenged son, Bamidele, who went missing four years ago.
The young man, who was a 400-level student at Olabisi Onabanjo University, was found wandering on the streets by an NGO, South-Westshire Health Trust, who took him into their facility and has been taking care of him.
In the latest development, Bamidele started remembering a few things about his family and the NGO used the information he gave them to trace his mum.
Two days ago, the mum reunited with her son, and it was indeed an emotional moment.
In the viral video, the mother, seeing her son, burst into tears, hugged him, and kept asking if he could remember her.

Teenagers who killed 20-year-old girl for money ritual in Ogun remanded in prison
A magistrate court sitting in Abeokuta, Ogun state, has ordered that the four teenagers who allegedly murdered 20-year-old Sofiat Kehinde be remanded in prison for two months.
The suspects, identified as Balogun Mustaqeem, 20; Majekodunmi Soliudeen, 18; Abdulgafar Lukman, 19; and Waris Oladeinde, 18, were arraigned on two counts of conspiracy and murder following their arrest on Saturday, January 29.
The suspects were apprehended on Saturday while they were burning the head of their victim, who is said to be a girlfriend to one of them, in a pot for a money ritual.
The prosecutor, Lawrence Balogun, told the court that the defendants committed the offence on January 28 at about 11:00 in the Kugba area of Abeokuta.
The prosecutor, who noted that the defendants murdered the victim with the plan to use her for money ritual, further disclosed that the offence committed contravenes sections 324 and 316 of the Criminal Code Laws of Ogun 2006.
The presiding judge, I. O. Abudu, did not take the plea of the defendants and ordered that they should be remanded in prison custody.
Abudu ordered that the defendants be remanded in the Oba correctional facility pending legal advice from the Ogun State Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).She adjourned the case until March 14 for mention.
It was gathered that the court premises was filled to the brim as the victim’s family and other sympathisers trooped to the court to witness the arraignment.

“Most ‘miracles’ you see on TV or crusades are staged” – Fr. Kelvin Ugwu
Nigerian Catholic priest, Fr. Kelvin Ugwu, has averred that almost all miracles people see on television or in crusades are staged.
The priest stated this in a Facebook post on Thursday, February 3 while speaking on some of the signs to identify real miracles.
According to him, the first sign that a minister is fake is when he is being advertised ahead of a church program as a healer. He noted that anyone who truly has the gift of healing does not make a noise about it and won’t be comfortable when it is used.
He went on to state that almost all the so-called miracles people see on TV or in crusades are staged.

Few points to note:
1. It is a sign that the minister is fake when he is being advertised ahead of a church program as a healer. Anyone who truly has the gift of healing does not make noise about it and won’t be comfortable when it is used for an advert to pull crowd or to make him or her famous.2. The “testimonies” you read at the back of a church flyer whenever they want to advertise a crusade or a program are often half-truths and concocted lies. Someone will tell you how she has been barren for 10 years and miraculously conceived and gave birth to twins after the “man of God” laid hands on her stomach, yet, just a little investigation into the case and you will discover that the woman did IVF. Why was that part of the story hidden?
3. Almost all the so-called miracles you see on TV or crusades are staged. Some are more of psychological manipulations than a miracle.
4. In the Catholic Church, for anything to pass as a TRUE miracle, it must be open to a third-party investigation. The third-party must be an independent person who plays the devil’s advocate.
5. You do not claim that a miracle has happened because someone stood up from a wheelchair in your “Three-day power-packed Miracle Signs and Wonders Revival with the anointed Prophet Dr. Evang Tom-Tom Chewing-gum.”
The ordinary questions should be:
Who is the person?
Where is the person coming from?
What is the medical condition as presented by a doctor?
Has it been concluded by experts and did they do a proper diagnosis prior to the miracle that it will be medically impossible for the person to walk again?
Asking those questions does not make you an unbeliever. Our faith is what St Anselm describe as Fides quaerens intellectum (faith seeking understanding).

A Nigerian man partook in a social experiment to test if his bestfriend is loyal to him but he failed woefully.
The plan was to use his girlfriend to test if his bestfriend would have his back and protect his relationship but the outcome caught him by surprise.
In the trending video, the man who was simply identified as Afo, had bragged about trusting his friend 100 percent, and that he would never disappoint him by falling for the prank.
As planned, his girlfriend placed a call to his bestfriend and told him that she has had feelings for him for a while but couldn’t say anything because of her boyfriend.
Initially, the said bestfriend was skeptical about her revelation but eventually admitted that he has also had eyes for her.
He further agreed to hangout with his friend’s girlfriend and to make matters worse, stated that he is already thinking of kissing her.
Afo who was listening the whole time, was extremely disappointed by his friend’s betrayal and stormed out of the scene.

A school teacher has taken to social media to share a touching note she received from a nonverbal special-needs student.
Sharing the note the teacher identified as @chanelchelle on popular micro-blogging platform, Twitter, described it as the ‘sweetest note’.
In the note, the little boy who noted that he’s just trying to leave his shy zone said she’s the best and he loves her.
He added that he wish he had met her before and dropped his number so that they can talk sometimes.

18-year-old Nigerian, Silas Nwankwo, joins a Swedish football club
The 18-year-old Nigerian striker, Silas Nwankwo has completed a move to Swedish outfit Mjällby AIF from Nasarawa United.
Silas was the joint-Top scorer in the 2020/21 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL). He recorded 19 goals with eight assists to share the award with Charles Atshimene of Akwa United.

In other news, a four-year-old boy, identified as Jarion Walker, accidentally shot himself in the head after he found his dad’s gun in the backseat of a car.
It was gathered that the 4-year-old was sitting in the back seat with his two younger siblings, aged 22 months and 1 year, when tragedy struck in the city of Westwego near New Orleans, USA.
He was immediately rushed to a hospital where he died of his injuries at around 10:45pm on Saturday, January 29.
According to authorities, his mum was in the front seat smoking weed with another adult when the unfortunate incident happened.
“It was a contact wound to the forehead, right above the right eyebrow,” Coroner Gerry Cvitanovich said.
The police have not made any arrests but detectives confirmed that an investigation will take place.

A little boy’s adult-themed 8th birthday party elicited varying reactions after a video from the party was shared online — quite a number of people after seeing the video have called for parents to allow kids be kids.
In the video that’s gone viral on social media, it’s discovered that a couple threw their 8-year-old son a party in a party bus which has a stripper pole.
They made provisions of bottles of non-alcoholic wine so the little lads can “pop bottles” — it’s reported that cocktails were also made available at the party.
In the video, the little men also had money to spray at the party as they danced around the pole — after seeing the video, a number of people have lambasted the parents for throwing such an adult-themed party for children.
However, some people supported the parents, saying there’s no harm in a little fun and for a very long time, kids have always tried emulating adults.

A Ghanaian clergyman, Apostle Richard Ankomah aka Tiger 88, has spoken against the practice of monogamy as he described it as “hypocrisy”.
According to the founder and leader of Panel Mighty Chapel, Ghana, churches should allow financially stable men to marry more than one wife because monogamy poses more danger to men.
He claimed that monogamy is sending a lot of people to hell because it encourages men to cheat on their wives as they are not allowed to be polygamous.
He further added that polygamy will also benefit women because many women are yet to get married because men are scarce.
Speaking in a recent interview with Nana Peprah, the Ghanaian cleric said,
“My brother, let us be very frank to ourselves that most of these women who have been praying for husbands are not getting a response, and the fact is that the men are limited. My fellow men of God know these things I’m saying are very true but they pretend as if all is well.

Nigerian clergyman, Rev. Fr. Oluoma, has averred that taking alcohol is not a sin and cannot prevent anyone from making it to heaven.
Rev. Fr. Oluoma, who stated this during a recent sermon in his church, noted that alcohol is medicinal and was created by God.
Speaking further, the man of God encouraged people drinking alcohol to drink it moderately as it has health benefits. He added that in the Bible, Paul asked Timothy to drink alcohol for his stomach problem.

Man confesses he stole bibles to preach word of God
A man who was recently arrested for stealing two bibles from a municipal supermarket has said he stole them to preach the gospel.
The man, identified as Augustine Wanyonyi, was charged before Milimani Chief Magistrate Susan Shitubi, and pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.
According to him, he wanted to know more about God and his word after he developed suicidal thoughts, so he decided to steal the holy books. He added that he had a strong belief that the word of God would break his bondage.
Wanyonyi stated this after the state counsel, Alice Mathangani, read a police report in court that revealed that he (Wanyonyi) went to Naivas Supermarket located along Moi Avenue in Nairobi around 3:00 pm on Monday, January 30, and stole two bibles, which he hid inside his pants.
The suspect was caught on the CCTV cameras installed in the premises and was apprehended when he refused to pay for the items.
“I stole the Bible so that I could read, understand, and preach the word of God instead of committing suicide due to the problems I’m facing.” Wayonyi said.
Meanwhile, the prosecutor told the court that the accused had a previous record of shoplifting and had been charged in December 2021.
The magistrate ordered a pre-sentence report to be submitted to the court within seven days and scheduled to show up in court on February 16 for sentencing.

A Nigerian tech-lawyer has asserted that women should be exempted from work on the first two days of their monthly period.
Motunrayo with Twitter handle @tunnie__, took to the popular micro-blogging platform to make this assertion. According to her, it’s unfair for women to be expected to work maximally when they are in pains.
She also recounted an experience she had while writing her final exams in law school.

I have killed over 20 people and was paid over N20k for each operation — ‘Repentant’ bandit confesses
A suspected terrorist, identified as Naziru Sani, working under the camp of notorious terrorist, Bello Turji, has confessed to killing over 20 people in attacks across Northwestern Nigeria.
Nazir was arrested along Jabiri Quarters in Funtua, Katsina, after the state police command received a credible intelligence report.
He was paraded before newsmen at the police command in Katsina on Tuesday, February 1, and he gave details of his operations with the terrorist group.
Speaking in an interview with Vanguard News, the 21-year-old suspect said,
“I am Bello Turji’s boy. I work under his command. I have been involved in communities’ attacks under the command of my boss, Turji and I have killed over 20 persons in the past but I have repented now.
I ran away from Jangebe forest in Zamfara where Turji is currently hibernating for dear life. The Police arrested me at Funtua, while I was trying to find my way to Suleja, Niger State where my parents live. I left my wife and children there in Makera Village in Zamfara.
We are very many. I don’t know the exact number but we are in hundred’s and I get between N20,000 to N30,000 after every operation.”
Oil workers missing as vessel explodes in Delta state (video)
Some oil workers and seafarers are reportedly missing after an explosion rocked the Floating Production Storage and Offloading unit they were aboard.
The sad incident happened on Wednesday evening, February 2, and as at the time of filing this report the number of casualties is still unknown.
It was gathered that workers aboard other oil facilities in the area were watching helplessly as the inferno ravaged the vessel.
According to reports, the vessel is owned by Shebah Exploration and Production Company Limited (SEPCOL) located in Escravos area of Delta state.
The management of SEPCOL has now reacted to the incident in a statement released by the Company’s Chief Executive Officer, Ikemefuna Okafor.
The statement read,
“In RECEIVERSHIP hereby announce the unfortunate incident of a fire that engulfed our offshore facility, the FPSO Trinity Spirit located at the Ukpokiti Teminal, following an explosion during the early hours of Wednesday, February 2, 2022.”
“The cause of the explosion is currently being investigated and we are working with necessary parties to contain the situation.
“At this time there are no reported fatalities, but we can confirm that there were ten crew men on board the vessel prior to the incident and we are prioritising investigations with respect to their safety and security.
We appreciate the assistance provided us by the Clean Nigeria Associates, the Chevron team operating in the nearby Escravos facility and our community stakeholders as well as fishermen, who have been of tremendous assistance since the incident happened.
“We have duly notified all relevant authorities and we appeal to the members of the public to stay away from the area while our Crisis Management Team continue to monitor the situation and update all stakeholders with new information as the investigation evolves”

Controversial Nigerian clergywoman, Funmilayo Adebayo popularly known as Mummy GO, has in a viral video been spotted grabbing pizza.
