Singer, Burna Boy reacts to Yonda’s claim that his song caused his beef with Davido

Grammy award winner, Burna Boy, has reacted after singer, Yonda claimed his song caused the rift between him and DMW boss, Davido.

Yonda, who was formerly signed to Davido’s record label, DMW, in an interview with Ameyaw TV, said that the genesis of the rift between the superstar singers, was when Davido took a song that was meant for Burna Boy.

According to him, he wrote a song for Burna, but he slept on it and did not do anything with the song, so Davido who was his boss at the time used the lyrics in a song which eventually became a hit.

“I wrote that song to Buna first he slept on it and David took it from him. The thing is after I got signed to David Burna still f8cked with me. Burna slept on the song and David took the song from him, the day David dropped the song, Burna subbed him on twitter”, Yonda said.

“Have a good relationship with your children so they can quickly speak up when they are being molested” – Singer, Simi’s mum advises parents

Mother of popular Nigerian singer, Simi, has advised parents to have a good relationship with their kids and be mindful of what they do around them.

Mrs Jedidah Akinsola gave this advice in an apparent reaction to the death of a 12-year-old boy, Sylvester Jnr, who was allegedly beaten and tortured to death by his colleagues for not joining their cult.

In a series of tweets, she advised that parents should build a good relationship with their kids so that they can easily speak up when being molested or abused.

She also urged parents to treat their domestic staff with love and respect as these children learn by example.

“Too many sad stories of children maltreated by teachers & fellow students. Why are people so wicked to children? Some adults are still doing same to their housemaids & staff. Please, change your ways & stop being wicked. Those of you who did it in the past should ask for mercy.

Some students learn wickedness from home from the way their parents treat their domestic staff. They see their parents treat their staff less than human & these kids took this mentality to school to deal with those younger or weaker than them. Parents, please show good example.

Parents, have a good relationship with your children so they can quickly speak up when they are being molested by a teacher or fellow students. Find time to ask them questions that will make them open up. Attend their Parents/Teachers meeting and be observant.

When your child complains please listen. I removed my daughter from FGGC & she became a day student when I realised she didn’t like it. What works for one child might not work for another. Stop using other people’s children to determine what is okay for your own children. Listen.

Parents, pls don’t stop going to your children’s schools when they enter university. Our kids now go to Uni at a young age so we still need to be up & doing. Check on them, encourage them & advice them & check out their friends. Trust them into the hands of God but do your part.” She tweeted.

“They kicked him, matched his waist. He suffered liver enlargement due to congealed blood” — Father of late Dowen college student, Sylvester Oromoni, speaks

Sylvester Oromoni, the father of 12-year-old boy, Junior, who died after he was allegedly tortured by his fellow students for refusing to join a cult, have opened up about the incident.

Sylvester Oromoni speaks

Speaking with TheCable Lifestyle, Mr Sylvester disclosed that his son was repeatedly bullied by the accused students.

He said,

“My son suffered. The boys they mentioned were also reported to the school last term when they bullied Junior and collected all his foodstuffs; clothes. I have two daughters, one of whom earlier graduated. I had to remove the second after this incident. They asked this boy to describe the sister’s privates and this got to us.”

Sylvester Oromoni speaks

According to him, Dowen College temporarily suspended the boys involved and Junior was also taken to a new hostel, but the bullying and intimidation still continued into the new term.

“They put fear in him so much so that, when you ask him, he might keep to himself and say, ‘they will kll me’. I considered removing him but reconsidered since his sisters were still in the school.

Mr. Sylvester said he got to know about the new incident on November 21st, after the school called his wife to inform her that their son was in the school clinic, injured.

He added that his son couldn’t stand because his waist was bent and one side of his belly was swollen. His mouth was black and he couldn’t sleep at night.

The grieving father revealed that Junior told his mum that he didn’t play football, neither did he fall. Thus, countering the school’s claim that he got injured while playing football.

Speaking further, Mr Sylvester said, “They kicked him, matched his waist. Other students ran off. They threatened to kill them all if they spoke a word to the school staff. They warned Junior to say he sustained injuries while playing ball. They threatened him. If you ask the roommate, they’d all lie. They matched his ribs and waist. All that pain for a 12-year-old,” he said, trailing off into a soft sob over the phone.

Sylvester Oromoni speaks

He said Junior suffered liver enlargement due to congealed blood. It was also claimed that Junior was fed with a chemical-like liquid substance for refusing to join the cult.

“The parents of the boys are wealthy. They withdrew them. Some of the parents are planning to fly the children out of the country. The boys are five in number: four are in SS2 while one is in SS1,” he added.

The state police command is yet to comment on this development. Meanwhile academic activities in the school have been suspended for two days.
