Veteran Nollywood actress, Ify Onwuemene has died after battling endometrial cancer for more than two years.
The actress who was well known for her role in popular sitcom ‘Everyday People, died of cancer on Tuesday, May 25th.
Recall that the actress who spoke up about her medical condition in 2019, got support from fans and well-wishers including a sum of one million naira from popular Nigerian singer, Davido.
A friend and colleague of the deceased, Gloria Anozie-Young, who confirmed the news of her death in a Facebook post moments ago, gave details of how the actress battelled with the disease which eventually took her life.
“With a deep sense of loss but total submission to God Almighty, we regret to announce that IFEY ONWUEMENE has gone to be with the Lord.
“IFEY ONWUEMENE was diagnosed with endometrial cancer. Her womb was removed, but she has been battling the ailment for many years now.
“Ify spent more than N10m, being helped with donations by her fellow actors and other Nigerians. A GoFundme account was opened for her, but it did not yield much. She had to go for draining every two weeks at a cost of N280,000, but only 3 litres of liquid can be removed at a time so that her heart is not affected.
IFEY has finally gone to rest, today 25th May 2021. May her soul rest in perfect peace. Amen.” She wrote.
Nollywood actress, Laide Bakare has “mocked” Eniola’s Badmus’ post, after the latter called for peace to reign amongst actors in the movie industry.
Eniola Badmus in a post shared on her Instagram page advised her colleagues to embrace love while she asked people to stop pitting them against each other.
Her post came after Toyin Abraham during an Instagram live session addressed her long running beef with colleague, Liz Anjorin. Toyin while addressing the issue, claimed she never paid any blogger to write anything about actress, as Liz has severally alleged.
According to Toyin, their beef is as a result of a statement a fan made.
While Eniola begged for peace to reign, Laide Bakare took to the comment to make a mockery of her post.
Laide left ”Yinmu” as a comment on Eniola’s post and Instagram followers who tagged the comment insensitive and unnecessary dragged her for it.

A Popular Dubai model who tried to give the impression she was traveling in a business class cabin has been exposed by co-passengers.

Nollywood actress, Toyin Abraham has finally addressed her lingering beef with her colleague in the Yoruba movie industry, Liz Anjorin.
Recall that the issue started in September 2019 when an Instagram blog reported that Liz was ‘held and searched for drug peddling’ during her hajj trip to Saudi Arabia. The report added that Liz was shaken up by the encounter with the security officials.
In reaction to the story, Liz alleged that her sources revealed that Toyin Abraham ‘leaked’ the story to the Instagram blog. She went on to lambast Toyin Abraham for exposing her on social media. In response to the allegation, Toyin Abraham called Liz out for online bullying and threatened to sue her.
Almost two years after the online squabble, the dispute between the celebrities has remained till date with Liz constantly firing obvious shades at Toyin Abraham.

Rita Daniel’s first son told The Nation exclusively all the stories associated with the viral photos are untrue.
According to him, the supposed marriage pictures that infiltrated the internet were actually scenes from a movie that his mother is part of.
He noted that social media users can go ahead to “catch cruise” as they will eventually be shocked when they find out the pictures are from a movie scene.

The Police Command in Ebonyi said there was no incident of suicide bombing in the state as being circulated in the social media.
DSP Loveth Odeh, Command’s Public Relation Officer (PPRO) told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Abakaliki that the pictures were not in connection with a suicide bomber.
“There is no bomb explosion in Ebonyi, but regrettably, this morning, one of our mobile police personnel attached to Afikpo on special duty was wounded by teargas.
“The officer mistakenly hit a teargas hung on his belt, and unfortunately, the device exploded and wounded him and he died.
“The lifeless body, the man in the picture is Inspector Idi Aminu, attached to 32 PMF Abakaliki but on special duty at Afikpo.
“So, there is no bomb blast or explosion in Ebonyi. The general public should disregard the information,” the PPRO said.
A 100-level student of a Nigerian university has reportedly been expelled from school only hours after he resumed for the first semester.
It was gathered that the unnamed student was nabbed in the hostel taking hard drugs which led to his immediate expulsion from the school.
The Twitter user who shared the heartbreaking story on the platform, revealed that the university freshman took a substance known as “Colorado” in the hostel, he was thereafter caught and expelled.
The young boy barely spent a whole day as a student in the school as he was expelled 5 hours after he resumed.

Nollywood actress, Nkechi Blessing has shared the heartwarming note she received from her politician boyfriend, Opeyemi Falegan, after she was suspended from Nollywood.
It can be recalled that Nkechi Blessing and her colleague, Kehinde Adams better know as Lege Miami, were suspended by The Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria on Sunday, May 23rd.

Ex-nude model cum gospel singer, Maheeda, has replied a fan who inquired if she’s still a born-again Christian, following her recent post on social media.
Months after Maheeda stunned her loyal fans with the revelation that she has renounced her old ways as she is now born again, she took to her official Instagram page moments ago to share raunchy photos of herself.
Sharing the rather suggestive photos the singer noted that she chooses to show people what they choose to see until she gets tired.
In her words,
“I respect your choice of being a decent, holy, current, classy and well behaved person. Me I choose what you see about me for now and I stand by it till I decide to change it if I ever get tired.
“Hopefully you will respect my choice too and let me be as I let you be”.
Reacting to the post, a curious fan took to the comments to confirm if she’s still a Christian like she initially claimed”.
