Nigerian Singer, Olakira, has opened up on the minor struggles he has faced in his career, and he bemoaned the fact that the grass is not always green for some up-and-coming singer, especially those who are not signed to any label.

In an interview with Sunday Scoop, he said, “Some of the challenges I face in my career are the hostility and fake love between musicians, and the industry’s hostility towards up-and-coming independent acts.”

The singer shot to limelight with his hit track, Maserati, and it earned him a remix which featured DMW Boss, Davido, on it.

Olakira described his collaboration with Davido as a dream come true.

Popular Nigeria singer, Temilade Openiyi, fondly known by her stage name, Tems, has said that she felt she could do better when recording the song, ‘Essence’ off Wizkid’s ‘Made in Lagos’ album.

Essence is one of the most successful songs on the album, and Tems did wonderfully well with her vocals, but she might not have been satisfied with her output.

In an interview with The Dotty Show on Apple Music 1, Tems said, “Even (on) the day I recorded (my verse on the song), I felt I could do better. I asked them to send me the beat again so I could redo my verse but they (Wizkid’s team) said it was great. I told them I still wanted to ‘top it’ but they did not let me. However, I was happy with it. I always like to challenge myself and I used to be such a perfectionist. Wizkid also said he liked it.”

Nigerian reality star, Gifty Powers,,  has reacted to the growing trend with public display of wealth by celebrities, and she has warned them to stop putting pressure on fans.

The BBNaija star specifically frowned on the recent fascination and urge to buy new cars, and she pleaded with them to keep it calm.

Veteran Actress Rita Dominic is not happy about the current state of the nation and she has expressed concern.

In a tweet posted today May 31, Rita said everyone is watching Nigeria slip into anarchy.

Her post reads ;

”I am afraid that we are watching Nigeria slip into anarchy. It is surreal. Our elected officials need to work harder to douse the tension in the country. We need peace to reign. Harassing and killing innocent citizens can never solve anything.”
