Nigerian Architect shares his heartbreaking encounter with a child hawker who slept off at his site.

A Nigerian man has taken to his twitter page to share heartbroken photos of an exhausted child-hawker who slept off at the site where he works.

Sharing the photos, he wrote ;

Saw this kid sleeping right in front of my site on a block besides his banana. Woke him and ask him to go lay inside. He said he just returned from school before asked to hawk.

Well-meaning Nigerians are now making efforts to put resources together to help the child’s situation.

I did this for my mom while growing up, this was the only way a single mother could raise school fees for her kids. Sometimes I was sent home for school fees, I’d go hawk, assist in raising the money & go back to school. Today I’m an Industrial mathematician. It’s only a phase.

These behaviors put children in danger of sexual assault, kidnapping, and PTSD.

The kid is not doing this on his own. An adult(parent, guardian) sent him on this errand. Even a crippled adult can sell this banana while the kid was in school. This is not justifiable by any means whatsoever😥
