Popular actress, Biodun Okeowo otherwise known as Omoborty, has been hospitalized and receiving medical treatment for an undisclosed ailment.

This comes weeks after the curvaceous movie star acquired a luxury car and received another car as a gift on her birthday. She became the proud owner of two brand new cars – a Mercedes Benz and a Lexus jeep.

The brand influencer has now taken to social media to reveal that she is taking a necessary break off work because she is physically ill.

Sharing a video of herself in the hospital, she wrote,

“Happy new week everyone. I don’t like to do this. But because of my brands and some brands I’m yet to deliver their contents 😢.

Physically challenged man melts hearts after paying the school fees of two students.

A physically challenged young Nigerian man has gone viral online following his outstanding show of love and kindness to two primary school students.

The young man identified as Michael Showunmi on Twitter, revealed he gave back to the society in his own little way.

Michael, a math teacher turned banker paid the school fees of two kids whose parents had difficulties in paying up.

According to him he visited his primary school and informed the principal that he desires to pay the school fees of two challenged students.

Thereafter, he met with the two kids identified as Timi and Fridause who struggled to pay their fees, and he paid up for them.

Taking to Twitter he wrote,

“I went to my primary school … I told the principal I want to help two students with school fees.

“They brought two students – Timi and Fridause. According to the Principal, Fridause has been out of school for 4weeks due to school fees. She started coming the same week I came . Timi had challenges with school fees due to his father’s decease.”

Netizens have taken to the comment to commend the young man’s benevolent act, adding that he has become a motivation to many.

A Twitter user, Rejoice Adiele wrote, “Well done Michael Showunmi! If we all do our bits in our little corners we will cover the Earth with goodness”.

A Nigerian lady, Oluwabunmi Amosuhas celebrated a new win which availed her the opportunity to further her studies in Canada.

The lady took to social media to reveal that she has departed Nigeria to achieve her dreams overseas.

Popular Nigerian comedienne, Real Warri Pikin is currently under fire on social media for celebrating actress, Rosy Meurer on her birthday.

Recall that viral reports alleged that Gambian-born Nigerian actress, Rosy snatched the husband of fellow Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh.

Tonto’s Dikeh’s estranged husband Churchill while celebrating Rosy on her birthday also introduced her as his wife, and disclosed that they have been married for two years.

No immediate reopening and tolling at Lekki Tollgate – LCC

The Lekki Concession Company (LCC) has said there will be no immediate reopening of the the Lekki Toll Gate Plaza.

The decision by the Lagos State Judicial Panel of Enquiry and Restitution for Victims of SARS related abuses and the Lekki Toll Gate incident of October 20 to hand over the toll plaza to the company on February 6, has been condemned by some Nigerians who believe it is out of place since justice is yet to be served. Some Nigerians using the hashtag #OccupyLekkiTollGate staged a protest at the tollgate last Saturday, February 13.

In a press statement released on Monday February 15, the managing director of LCC, Yomi Omomuwasan, said tolling was not the first item on the firm’s menu since recovering possession.

“It does not mean that when we take possession, once we rebuild or once we take possession or finish the evaluation and the next thing is to start tolling. No. It takes a process. People are engaging us to say, ‘How do we offer a better service, how do we improve our services and we are ready to listen to that kind of good feedback. So, we need to work on a lot if things internally before you see us starting to toll.” he said

A Mexican beauty queen is facing up to 50 years in prison after she was apprehended on suspicion of being part of a kidnapping syndicate.

The beauty queen, Laura Mojica Romero, 25, is currently being detained in Huatusco, a city in the Mexican state of Veracruz.

Laura is one of three women and five men arrested by authorities — she was identified only by her first name in a statement released by investigators in the eastern Mexican state of Veracruz.

Ms. Mojica was described as one of ‘eight alleged members of a criminal organisation specialising in kidnap‘ in the statement.

Prosecutors stated that an elite anti-kidnap unit had acted to ensure there was ‘no truce for people who cause serious harm to Veracruz’ following their arrest.

They added:

‘The capture of Luis Antonio ‘N’; Raúl ‘N’; María del Rosario ‘N’; Ana Martha ‘N’; Laura ‘N’; César Enrique ‘N’; Diego ‘N’ and Jossiel ‘N’ took place in Veracruz when personnel specialized in tackling kidnapping carried out an operation to capture those now linked to this judicial investigation.

‘The eight alleged kidnappers have been remanded in custody for two months while the investigation continues.’

Laura is understood to have been held in Huatusco, a city in the Mexican state of Veracruz.

Romero, who comes from the city of San Juan Bautista Tuxtepec in Oaxaca, won the Miss Oaxaca 2018 regional beauty contest and took part in the Miss Mexico competition the following year.

The English-speaking model went on to represent her nation at the 2020 International Queen of Coffee beauty pageant in Colombia.

The model defined herself as ‘more than just a pretty face’ in an interview in January 2019 after her Miss Oaxaca triumph.

The business studies graduate said her priorities included tackling the problem of violence against woman, saying: ‘We can’t stand idly by, we have to eradicate violence against women, through campaigns and educational talks that make men aware of this issue.’

Nigerian-American economist, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has been appointed as the Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO).

The international development expert has broken two records as she emerges the first woman and first African to take on the leadership rein of the WTO.

The international body took to their official Twitter page to share the latest update. The former Minister of Finance will resume her new appointment in March, 2021.

Nigerian medical doctor dies in ghastly motor accident two months to his wedding

A medical doctor identified as Chidera Alexander Ifudu, has sadly passed away in a motor accident two months to his wedding.

The accident involving his Lexus SUV occurred on Friday morning, February 12, along Port Harcourt/Aba Expressway.

According to reports, Chidera was trying to avoid hitting a pedestrian when his car veered off the road and crashed.

The deceased who worked at ESUT Teaching Hospital, Enugu, is reportedly the only son of his father.

His traditional wedding was scheduled for Tuesday, April 6, 2021, in Umuahia-South local Govenment Area of Abia state and the church wedding on Saturday, April 10, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Independence Layout, Enugu.

May his soul rest in peace.

A Nigerian man identified as Nappy Blaze, has stirred reaction on social media after he shared photos of the valentines gift he received from his ex-girlfriend and current girlfriend.

Nappy shared photos of the different gifts he got from the two ladies on micro-blogging platform, Twitter.

The young man alleged that he got a PS5 as valentines gift from his ex-girlfriend, while he got a pack of boxers and singlets from his current girlfriend identified as Amaka.

His ex-girlfriend who gifted him a PlayStation 5 which reportedly worth $500 showered praises on him and stated how much she missed him.

Mixed reaction has since trailed the tweet, while some berated his current girlfriend, some praised her emphasizing that its the intention that matters.
