Blachowicz has defeated Nigeria’s Israel Adesanya to retain his light heavyweight title.
This is coming after Jan Blackowicz (28-8) was awarded an upset unanimous decision victory over Israel Adesanya (20-1). The judges had handed scores of 49-46, 49-45, and 49-45 in favor of the Polish champion.
Adesanya had intended to burnish the legend as he aimed to become the fifth fighter in UFC history to become a two-weight champion simultaneously.
The Nigerian had stepped into the octagon against Jan Blachowicz, the light-heavyweight title-holder, in a bid to add to his middleweight championship honours.
The Pole is bigger, more experienced, and older, but Adesanya had said none of these qualities troubled him.
With his defeat, the “Stylebender” has failed in his recent bid to join Conor McGregor, Daniel Cormier, Amanda Nunes, and Henry Cejudo as one of the five fighters in UFC history to hold titles in two divisions simultaneously.
Nigerian lady identified as Sabena has accused her Twitter influencer boyfriend, Biyi Nifemi of domestic violence.
The incident reportedly happened in Biyi’s house during a misunderstanding. The video of Sabena crying has gone viral on Twitter as the she shows how her frontal wig was pulled out of her head.
See the way u loved me… Now see the way u con beat me… You carry plaster put for my head oooo…. Ine me obim nsoooooo (tabooooo)
However, Biyi has denied beating Sabena and has also accused her of domestic abuse and violent. He also shared photos of his battered face on social media while vowing to pursue the case.
In a statement released on his Twitter page, Biyi vowed to report the case to the police, as he accused his girlfriend of provocation.
He tweeted; “I’ve escalated to the police and will pursue this case to every length. My being a man doesn’t mean you should strike, hit , abuse and provoke me. I feel pain too. I have been nothing but good to you!”
I’ve escalated to the police and will pursue this case to every length
My being a man doesn’t mean you should strike, hit , abuse and provoke me. I feel pain too.
I was recently involved in a domestic abuse situation and truthfully, it has been one of the most unpleasant experiences of my life.
As much as I’ll like to keep a lot of details about my relationship private for now,
I’ll like to state that what may come off as me laying my hands on Bena was nothing but self defense. I was trapped and physically violated in a corner of my home because I ended my relationship with Bena.
I was beaten and hit with things she could easily find.
I didn’t react at first because I never wanted to be that guy that I drag and curse everyday for perpetuating violence. I held my peace until I was sure that if I didn’t find a way out of that situation, I would lose my life or be severely hurt.
I was on the visitor’s toilet seat when she came in and shoved me. The push she gave me sent me crashing back into the toilet seat and the result is in the picture below. It was all in this confined space that everything took place.
It’s sad that people are now judging me for saving myself from what could have been a homicide and trust me, if I wasn’t the person involved in this situation, I would make my conclusion and call me all sorts of names because overtime, men have proven to be such.
I am very much aware that anything I say would be dissected and scrutinized and my words would make meaning differently to different people but regardless, I want everyone to know that I did my best to avoid this situation from turning out this way.
In all these, the only thing I am truly sorry for is not walking away when I sensed that I was going to be violated. That would have been the easiest thing to do but I trusted Bena too much.
She went that far because she knew the kind of man I am – a man that would rather eat sand than lay his hands on another human being.
I’ll like to apologize to everyone that must have been disappointed by this incidence and I hope that the truth reveals itself someday soon.
That’s all I’ll say on this for now.
Thank you.
On Sabena’s part, sharing her story, she wrote;
“I never in my life thought I’d be a victim of domestic violence . We had a misunderstanding this morning and I was even still trying to make amends as it should be in a relationship, but instead my supposed boyfriend chose to be violent. he pushed me away and I pushed him back.”
that’s all I remembered before he started landing slaps, punches on face.. I fell down with my hair bonnet over my face blinding me and he kept on beating me, I tried to remove the blindfold so I could find my way out, he dragged me into the toilet and was strangling me against
the WC till it broke , I had to pull his shirt and I was using my hands so he wouldn’t kill me , he kept slapping me until his neighbors had to come and rescue me. You put out a tweet in defense to my tweet which they coerced me into deleting at the station claiming I hit you
you had to defend yourself you went on to the police station after you saw my tweet to report a case that you were physically assaulted. how manipulative can you get?You abused me physically and then followed it with bullying me with the police and further emotionally abusing me

I Have been waiting for the right time to post this.
Pls we should be careful with the kind of people we employ to work for us.. These are 2 sisters i brought to my home to work for me, one is 16 years and she’s the one doing the transfer from my account to her sister’s account via my phone. And her elder sister moved in to work with me in June and after 2 months she begged me to bring in her younger sister cos they maltreat her where she kept her.
I agreed and since then they have been transferring my money unknowing to me bcos they delete the alert anytime they do. She created a code with my alert phone and has been taking away my money.
I don’t use the account cos it’s just for saving, so i didn’t notice.. These are people I do everything for bcos i believe when you’re good to your workers Mostly the ones taking care of your kids, they will treat your kids well.
These people finished me oo!!!
The day they left my house they transferred 100k to their account and bcos the alert didn’t come on time for them to delete as usual, i was able to see it and went to the bank (gtb) and was told it’s one Rosemary and that happens to be my house girl. I immediately blocked her account and printed my bank statement only to discover that they have been doing it for a long time.
People who are close to me knows how good i am to my workers. (271k I total)
I am still in shock.. I discovered on the 17th of December and was able to track them down.
Pls my fellow employers, be very careful and vigilant with whom you employ to work for you!!!

Award winning Nigerian singer, Simi has taken to Twitter to speak up about the challenges female entertainers face in the music industry.
A talent manger @iamNdidi had taken to the micro blogging platform to rant about how difficult it is to work with female artistes.
“Some female artistes can stress you. You’ll be planning and making moves for the artiste, from nowhere, one bros will bring ‘ring’, end of career”. he tweeted.
Simi who claimed to have been triggered by Ndidi’s post, in a lengthy Twitter thread detailed the challenges female artiste encounter in the industry. According to her, the female entertainers are constantly pitted against each other and can hardly get away with the kind of things men in the industry get away with.
Speaking further, Simi noted that when a woman in the industry stands up for herself, she’s tagged “difficult”.
In her words,
Woman dey try sha. Tbh some of the things I’ve experienced – specifically as a woman – in this industry. Lol. They will try to pit you against other women. Try to redefine ur value. Try to get in your head and remodel your self esteem. And I have even had it easier than many…
Ati executive oh. Ati audience oh. It comes from all the sides. That’s why I fuck with any woman that is winning in this industry – because hurdle is much dear. Women can hardly get away with the kinds of things many men in the same industry get away with on a regular.
When a woman complains about the shit she’s experiencing, I see many people saying “what about so and so” does she have 2 heads. To me, that’s unfortunate, because everybody’s experience is different. Your truth cannot invalidate someone else’s.
For every woman that is making it, there are tons of women that have been broken. If u stand up for urself, “she’s difficult”. If u’re not a pushover, “she’s proud”. If u take time for urself, “she’s lazy.” If u ask for what you deserve, “she’s greedy”. Well, fuck you then.
Have you ever settled down to think that a woman that might seem difficult because she’s the only one on her side, so she has to play all these roles? Fighting family, fighting industry, fighting stereotypes
And if you’re here to say “men also go through it.” It’s true. Nobody is dragging suffering with you. I know some men have it hard, but I ain’t never seen a mediocre female artist make it! etc.
Ladies trying to get ahead in this industry – be careful the fucks u give, cos many don’t care about u as much as they care about using u. Protect yourself. When it’s you vs the industry, put urself first. Make sure ur material is great and don’t ever stop standing up for urself!”.

In January 2021, a popular Instagram blogger alleged that the actor is gay while the blog shared an alleged gay sex tape to back up her claims.
However, months later, Godwin Maduagu has now spoken up and refuted the viral report that he’s gay. According to him the blogger’s claims are false and the alleged video was doctored.
In an extensive question and answer session on his Instastories, the actor addressed the scandal for the first time, opened up on how the allegations affected him.
Godwin noted that he was being blackmailed and claimed that he was superimposed in the video. He said when the video surfaced online, he was traumatised but drew strength from his family members, his girlfriend, and James Brown who he said had suffered a similar experience except that his, Godwin’s experience was worse.
Godwin insisted that he’s not gay, and would get married someday.
Chiwetalu Agu is a veteran Nigerian actor, comedian and movie producer who won the 2012 Nollywood award for ‘best actor in indigenous movie’. His usage of specific language slang, phrases or clichés in each film has made him uniquely a household name in Nigeria and among Nollywood admirers abroad.
When was the last time you thought about your passion? Recently? A while ago? Well, today is a good enough time to take a pause and give your passion some serious thought.
I know the world we are in priorities survival, but nothing beats personally prioritizing one’s passion and reaping its dividends.
Take Kaffy for example, before she became the popular celebrity dancer she is now, she had been following an educational path that will make her an Aeronautic Engineer. She, one day, took the decision to pursue her passion for dance instead. Despite huge discouragement from family and friends, she went on to do amazingly well in the male dominated dance industry – becoming one of the topmost dancers in the country.
What about Kelechi Amadi-Obi? After practicing law for years, the seasoned photographer dropped everything and went into photography at a time when photography didn’t mean much in Nigeria. His work in photography and visual art has earned him international renown, featuring in many international exhibitions.
We can also talk about Olorunyomi Omoniyi Makun of Yomi Casual. When it comes to Fashion among Nigerian Men in Nigeria, Yomi Casual is one of the resounding names that take the lead in the Industry. In many ways, Yomi Casual not only succeeds at what he does, but he also has made being a male fashion designer an “acceptable” day job.
Let’s switch into Nollywood and talk about Omoni Oboli. She is the first actress from Nollywood to win Best Actress in two international festivals. After she first started acting, she went on hiatus for 10 years. But then, she came back and took the industry by storm. That couldn’t have been easy, but acting was her passion, so she stuck with it.
DJ Kaywise and Kim Oprah are also Nigerians who have found the limelight from pursuing their passions. Making a name for themselves with huge followings.
I can go on and on about how big of a deal following your passion is. Without a doubt, it pays to follow one’s passion. And thanks to great brands like TECNO, we are being reminded of that golden fact today. Unfortunately, the controversial socialite was arrested upon his arrival at the police station after he was revealed to be the club director.

“Yes, we have arrested him and I have directed he be transferred to Ikeja where he would be charged to court”, Odumosu said.
