An upcoming artiste, popularly known as Starboy Fizzy, has reportedly committed suicide in the early hours of Thursday, January 28.

A friend of the singer identified as Idjedje Tejiri Black Joe, shared the heart wrenching news on his Facebook page while mourning the deceased.

According to him, the singer drank a bottle of sniper which caused his death in Warri, Delta state.

The distraught friend asked why he gave up the journey of life by himself. According to him, taking his life is the biggest sin so far.

Sequel to the news, it was reported on social media that the upcoming singer killed himself shortly after he returned from a church vigil with his mom.

According to the unconfirmed reports, the young man took his own life because the pastor of his mum’s church told his mother that he saw a vision that the deceased wanted to use her for money ritual.

Popular Nigerian singer, disc jockey and Billionaire daughter, DJ Cuppy, has seemingly broken her silence on the story making the rounds that she owes former ally, Zlatan Ibile some royalties on their collaborative track, Gelato.

Some weeks back, music fans were hit with the shock news that Zlatan Ibile blocked DJ Cuppy on his social media platforms and no one could really ascertain the reason for his action.

Yesterday, a video made the rounds wherein Zlatan denied ever knowing who DJ Cuppy is despite the fact that they’ve both recorded and performed a song together.

Earlier today, Davido’s personal logistic manager, Isreal DMW, revealed what happened between Nigerian singer Zlatan and DJ Cuppy.

It was gathered that DJ Cuppy took Zlatan to the fundraising event and they performed their collaborative track “Gelato” to the delight of the wealthy audience.

Engineering graduate drowns in a river 3 months after completing youth service

A Mechanical Engineering graduate, Friday Abiligo Orhomre has drowned in a river three months after completing the compulsory national youth service.

Friday who graduated from Delta State Polytechnic (Delta Poly) and completed his National youth service in October 2020, was travelling in a speedboat with his mother and siblings when their boat capsized in Ughoton River, Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State.

According to Nigerian Tribune, Friday reportedly drowned while his mother and siblings managed to swim to the shore.

He was said to have objected to making the trip to the farm earlier but was encouraged by some of his family members.

The body of the deceased is yet to be found, however, divers have begun to search the river to locate his body.

Meanwhile, a Facebook user, Ugborotu Mark took to the platform to confirm the incident in a Facebook post on Friday, January 29th.

His post reads,

“Today I received the sudden news of your demise and till now my heart is still bleeding. O death why? Even as I can’t phrase the correct words to express myself, the shock that the news of your demise has brought upon us the Ughoton people, Okpe Kingdom, Delta and Nigeria as a whole, it is indeed glaring that we just lost one of the great leaders of tomorrow to the cold hands of death.

President Muhammadu Buhari appoints new service chiefs (Photos)

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday, January 26th announced the replacement of Nigeria’s service chiefs.

According to a statement shared on the president’s verified Twitter page, Buhari has accepted the immediate resignation of the Service Chiefs, and their retirement from service.

I have accepted the immediate resignation of the Service Chiefs, and their retirement from service. I thank them all for their overwhelming achievements in our efforts at bringing enduring peace to Nigeria, and wish them well in their future endeavours.

I have also appointed new Service Chiefs, to replace the retired officers:

Major-General Leo Irabor, Chief of Defence Staff

Major-General I. Attahiru, Chief of Army Staff

Rear Admiral A.Z Gambo, Chief of Naval Staff

She also noted that although her friend disclosed that he makes her happy, her conscience is all over the place.

Samuel took to Twitter to share his controversial thought, which has generated an argument on the micro-blogging platform.

American-Canadian actress, Pamela Anderson has tied the knot with her body guard, Dan Hayhurst in a secret wedding.

The 53-year-old Baywatch star in a chat with Daily Mail, revealed she’d married her Dan on Christmas Eve in an intimate ceremony on the grounds of her Canadian home.

The marriage to her bodyguard, Dan makes it Pamela’s 6th wedding, although she insists her last wedding was a ‘mock’ wedding and this is her 5th.

In an exclusive interview with DailyMailTV, she said, “I’m exactly where I need to be – in the arms of a man who truly loves me.”

Pamela is said to have been married multiple times. Her last wedding, the 5th, was in 2020.

Nigeria Customs intercepts lion bones, pangolin scales worth N952m

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Apapa Area Command, Lagos, has seized lion bones and pangolin scales worth N952 million.

According to the Customs Area Controller of the command, Comptroller Mohammed Abba-Kura, who disclosed this during a press briefing on Wednesday, Jan 27th, the items were billed for export to Vietnam when they were intercepted.

Abba-Kura revealed that the items, comprising 162 sacks of pangolin scales weighing 8,800kgs and 57 sacks of mixed endangered species of various sizes such as ivory/animal horns, lion bones and others were falsely declared as furniture components.

In his words,

“On January 21, based on credible intelligence, Customs operatives at the export seat of Apapa command, successfully detected and arrested one unit of 20-feet container which was processed for export and falsely declared as a furniture component.

“Immediately the container was opened, logs were seen in front, and upon 100 per cent physical examination of the container, elephant tusks, and the pangolin scales were seen concealed by the logs.

“The Convention of International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES 1973) entails that Customs Administration all over the world protect wildlife by intercepting illegal trade on such animals.

“Pangolins – scaly, shy and sensitive – are believed to be the world’s most trafficked nonhuman mammals accounting for as much as 20 per cent of all illegal wildlife trade.

“Their scales that are made of keratin (the material in fingernails) have no scientific proven curative properties but are in high demand for use in traditional Chinese medicine.” He added.

Speaking further, the comptroller revealed that an agent had been arrested and detained after an unnamed lady was picked by operatives. Adding that after due investigation, the customs service headquarters would take appropriate action against the suspects.
