Instagram socialite, Mompha, lands in another N157m fraud mess

Popular Instagram celebrity, Ismail Mustapha a.k.a Mompha has been named by EFCC in its N157.1million fraud charge filed against an auto dealer, Sarumi Babafemi, alias 606.

Mompha has been facing a separate 14-count N32.9 billion money laundering charge since November 25, 2019, while Babafemi, the CEO of 606 Autos ltd, had been accused of being an agent of fraud suspects named by the United States Federal Investigation Bureau (FBI).

Babafemi have since November 1, 2019, been on trial for a five-count charge for allegedly laundering N207.1million.

But, on Monday, February 1, the EFCC brought an amended nine-count charge of January 22, 2021 against Babafemi, Mompha and two others, before Justice Chukwujeku Aneke.

Mompha lands

The two other suspects are Ridwan Momodu Allison, a.k.a. Osama (said to be at large) and Richard Ogbah.

They were all accused of laundering N157.1 million for Omojadesola Shittu Allison; Olandewaju Oriyomi; Abiola Kayode Ayorinde; Bartholomew Oluchukwu Ezeudoka and Amobi Uchenna E. who reportedly received the sums of N37.6 million; N93 million; N1.5 million and N25 million respectively.

Babafemi and his firms; 606 Autos Ltd, 606 Music Ltd and Splash Off Entertainment Ltd were also accused of concealing and disguising the origins of the funds he allegedly laundered for Mompha and others, an offence which contravened sections 15(2)(b) and 15(3)(a) and were punishable under section 15(3) of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act, 2011 (as amended).

The Presiding judge, Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke, however, adjourned the case till April 21, 22 and 23.

Outrage as family forgives woman who poured hot water on her sleeping niece

A Nigerian lady, Maureen Eugene has sparked outrage on social media after she revealed that her family has forgiven her sister, for allegedly scalding their 14-year-old niece with hot water.

Maureen initially took to social media to call her sister out for allegedly pouring boiling water on one of their sister’s daughters who lives with them.

According to Maureen the victim identified as Chinaza, was sleeping at about 3am when her elder sister – the child’s aunt – boiled water 4 times and poured it on the sleeping girl.

This incident left the girl with burns on her face, neck, chest, and shoulders.

Maureen’s post stirred concern on social media, and netizens reached out to her to call that the aunt who assaulted the young girl be brought to book.

A Facebook user, Nkechi Bianze reached out to Maureen, demanding her elder sister’s number so they can get justice for the victim.

Shockingly, Maureen revealed that the family has forgiven her sister and they will like to keep it as a private family matter.

This has however sparked outrage, as Nigerians demands the case be treated as a crime case and not mere family issue.

According to him, his co-worker, who had been absent from work because he was physically ill, finally resumed work today, February 1.

On getting to the office, he met an hand-written card, a foil cake and parfait sent by his girlfriend to brighten up his day.

In the beautiful photo, the great-grandmother, grandmother, mother and a daughter pose for the camera in matching outfits.

This is coming after a 5-Generation family photo of women took the internet by storm.

The picture featured a great-great-grandmother, great-grandmother, grandmother, mother and daughter with ages 91,77, 55,35 and 15 respectively.

A Nigerian man identified as, Jamilu Shinkafi, has died in a fatal accident while returning from a friends wedding in Bauchi state.

Jamilu had attended the wedding of his friend, Ibrahim Rabo on Saturday, January 30th.

He met his death on Sunday January 31st in a fatal accident along the Akwanga-Keffi road, while returning to Abuja in his car with three of his friends.

The friend’s who were in the car with him allegedly sustained minor injuries while he, Jamilu died on the spot.

Family and friends have since taken to social media to mourn the demise of jamilu who many described as the sparking life of every gathering.

Two hours before his demise, a video of him smiling just before embarking on the trip in his car was shared online by his friends.

A white woman, Leshell has replied a Nigerian man, simply identified as Ifeanyi who took to social media to publicly profess his love for her.

Recall that Yemi Alade was one of the African artists featured in Beyonce’s “Black Is King” visual album, a sequel to the 2019 “Lion King: The Gift” album.

Speaking in the interview, Yemi said she ignored “Queen Bey” for close to two months because her management thought it was a scam.

In her words,

“We thought it was a scam email… I wasn’t the one receiving the emails, my management was and the thing is that, you have to be a crazy beyond fan like me to know her company’s name is “Parkwood”, So you’re getting emails from “Parkwood” about a collaboration with Beyoncé?!… My manager was telling me that he keeps getting these messages from Parkwood. He sounded very irritated and he was thinking of maybe blocking the email… and I asked him what did you say? Did you say “Parkwood?” I said (screams) that is Beyoncé!!!!…”

Speaking further on how long it took them to reach out to the Grammy award-winning American singer, Yemi Alade said,

“It took a while.. we were at the end of the collection like..they’ve been working on this for a while, maybe a month or two, I think even someone at some point came to Nigeria and they were trying to meet me but you know how some people are, they don’t want some people to meet some people.”

The 31-year-old singer further revealed that immediately she realized her manager’s mistake, she boarded the next flight to Las Vegas and made her way to Beyoncé’s studios.

“I had no idea what was coming. When we were done with the meeting, I went back to my apartment. I just woke up the next morning I couldn’t talk, definitely could not sing. I had no voice, I pushed and I got something out of it,” the ‘Johnny’ singer said.

Marc Wilmore, writer of popular American sitcom, The Simpsons, has died after contracting coronavirus while battling other health issues.

According to his brother, Larry Wilmore who confirmed the sad news in a statement shared on social media, Marc died on January 30th at age 57.

“My sweet sweet brother, Marc Edward Wilmore, passed away last night while battling Covid and other conditions that have had him in pain for many years.

“My brother was the kindest, gentlest, funniest, lion of an angel I’ve ever known. I love you little brother.” He wrote.

The veteran actor and comedian first joined the iconic cartoon sitcom The Simpsons, during its 13th season which aired throughout 2001 and 2002.

He got his first credit for a segment of the Halloween special Treehouse of Horror XIII titled Send in the Clones.

He continued working on The Simpsons until 2015, also providing his voice to the episodes It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad Marge in 2000, and The Wreck of the Relationship in 2014.

Marc won an Emmy for outstanding animated programme as a producer for the episode Eternal Moonshine of the Simpson Mind in 2008.

Popular comedienne, Chioma Omeruah professionally known as Chigul, has shown off her incredible weight loss transformation.

The comedienne, who doubles as an actress, has been undergoing weight-loss exercise regimen and has been sharing her progress videos on her Instagram page.

Chigul recently took to photo and video sharing platform, Instagram, to show off the results of her months of consistency and sacrifice at the gym.

In the new photos, the actress obviously looks slimmer, having shed some pounds.

She captioned the photos,

In other news, Chigul took to her Instagram page to call out young men who are sliding into her DMs to ask her out.

In a video shared on her page, she warns said men to stay away from her – she says the men coming to her should go back to their online classes instead of trying to woo her.

The actress went on to joke that some of them would call her baby instead of addressing her as mommy. Chigul also noted that she wouldn’t mind if she is a bit older than men within a range of four or five years but the ranges twenty and ten is something she cannot do.

She said she would rather prefer to be approached by men who are within the same age range as her – Chigul, who has starred in a few blockbuster Nollywood movies went on to say that she would have nothing to talk about with the men.

She told all young men coming at her to find somebody else. In the video shared on her page, the actress went on to say that a lady dating a young guy cannot work in Nigeria because this is not America.

Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Leo Dasilva has stated that it won’t be compulsory for his wife to take on his surname if she wants to retain hers.

According to the reality TV star his kids will answer his family name, while his wife is at the liberty to take on whatever name she chooses.

Taking to Twitter, he wrote,

“It won’t be compulsory for my wife to be Mrs Dasilva, she can call herself whatever she wants. The kids will carry the family name #LeoTalk.”

However, Leo’s tweet followed heavy backlash on Twitter. while some men called him out for tweeting to please women, some women condemned him for his “dismissive” tone.

In other news, the reality TV star, Leo DaSilva has taken to social media to advise people against marrying someone whose family doesn’t like them.

The 28-year-old enterpreneur gave this advise, in reaction to a Twitter user who narrated how his relative’s mother-in-law hated her so much to the extent that she refused to carry her child.

The Twitter user @DonteeWrites said the mother-in-law also blamed her after her son lost his job. He then issued a stern warning to women against making such a grave decision.

The tragic incident occurred in Dikwa, Borno state on Friday, January 29, which left Usman and four other soldiers dead during a gun battle with the insurgents.

It was gathered that Usman got married on January 27, two days before he was killed in the fight. However, he was not physically present at the wedding ceremony which took place in Lagos.

A family member speaking with Sahara Reporters said,

“I received the news of Usman’s death with deep shock. He just got married on December 27, 2020. I attended the wedding here in Lagos. Though he wasn’t in attendance physically because he was on duty, his family members and friends were all here and left with the wife to Borno State that same day.

I still spoke with him last week and told him to take care of his wife. It’s just so sad. He was so jovial and caring.”

At the party, Kiddwaya was filmed attempting to kiss Kaisha and the video quickly went viral, which made Erica’s fans drag the duo for disrespecting their self-acclaimed “Star Girl”.

In the video, the billionaire’s son could be seen pouring liquor from a bottle into Kaisha’s mouth, then he made for her lips and brought out his tongue in an attempt to kiss her, but withdrew almost immediately.

The video sparked outrage on social media as fans of the show dragged them and labelled Kiddwaya a “serial flirt”.

The next morning, Kaisha tendered an apology for her actions, stating that she was quite tipsy at the party.

She, however, refuted claims that she and KiddWaya kissed and provided the full video clip of what really transpired.

In her words;

“So I woke up to “Kidd kissed Kaisha last night “ 😲 How??? Oh yes I had too much to drink at Praise’s birthday party last night and I don’t remember kissing Kidd so where’s this coming from?
