The President has reminded Nigerians of the need to guard jealously the unity of the nation which was won at great cost.
President Muhammadu Buhari has requested Nigerians to refrain from words and actions that could threaten the progress and unity of the country.
The President made the appeal during the launching of the 2021 Armed Forces Remembrance Day (AFRD) Emblem and Appeal Fund in Abuja on Wednesday October 28.
At the ceremony, President Buhari said this year’s occasion reminds Nigerians of the need to guard jealously the unity of the nation which was won at great cost.
The President, who stressed that ‘‘Nigeria’s strength lies in her diversity’’, honoured the memory of the nation’s fallen heroes and veterans, recounting their sacrifices during the First and Second World Wars, the Nigerian Civil War and Peace Support Operations around the world.
He also paid tribute to men and women currently engaged in internal security operations, particularly the ongoing fight against insurgency, terrorism and armed banditry in some parts of the country, praising them for remaining steadfast in the difficult task of restoring peace and security despite the coronavirus pandemic.
”We honour the memory of our gallant officers and men who have paid the supreme sacrifice in order to keep the country united as one entity.
‘The nation remains grateful for the efforts and sacrifice of the Armed Forces especially in the fight against insurgency and other internal security challenges confronting Nigeria.
‘The Armed Forces Remembrance Day or Veterans Day as it is known in some parts of the world is an important event observed in commemoration of the end of the Second World War.
In Commonwealth member countries, the Remembrance Day is observed on 11th November yearly. However, for us the date was changed to 15th January annually to accommodate the commemoration of the end of the Nigerian Civil War’’ he said.
On security operations in the North West and North Central zones in the country, President Buhari expressed delight at the return of normalcy in some of the areas that previously witnessed security challenges.
”Our dear nation has witnessed numerous security challenges since independence.
”These security threats have undermined Nigeria in the areas of trade, investment and economy, education, health as well as agriculture and frequently denied Nigerians the freedom of movement.
”I am however pleased to state that a lot has been achieved in the Internal Security operations in the North West and North Central zones where in addition to Operations LAFIYA DOLE, HADARIN DAJI, HARBIN KUNAMA, WHIRL STROKE, other operations such as ACCORD, SAHEL SANITY and KATSINA were successfully launched.
”This has led to the return of normalcy in some of the affected areas. However, all hands must be on deck to check attacks on soft targets, ” he said.
The President, who restated that his administration will continue to forge useful alliances with neighbours and friends in the international community for the total defeat of the security threats affecting the sub-region, promised to ensure timely provision of adequate resources and necessary logistics support for the Armed Forces.
President Buhari further pledged that under his watch the Nigeria Armed Forces will operate with the best modern warfare equipment, with welfare issues receiving utmost attention.
”We are quite aware that it is our responsibility to provide a conducive environment that is devoid of security threats.
”I want to re-assure Nigerians that security being one of the pillars of this administration will continue to be at the forefront until peace and security are restored in the country,’’ he said.
The President also used the occasion to reassure Nigerians of his administration’s commitment to creating an environment in which all citizens and foreigners are guaranteed freedom and returns on investments.
He, therefore, urged business enterprises to render discounts and rebates to men and women in uniform as a symbol of appreciation for their sacrifices, saying ‘‘this kind gesture will make life easier for them and deepen their patriotism’’.
On support for families of members of the Armed Forces who died in active service, President Buhari acknowledged that the unfortunate cost of the fight against insurgency and other internal security challenges was the unavoidable loss of lives of some gallant compatriots.
‘The reality is that the spouses and defendants of these bread-winners in most cases experience trauma and deprivation. However, we can be of support to them to lighten their burdens especially in light of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
”I therefore call on all to spare a thought for them and take positive steps to come to their aid,” he said, commending charity organisations engaged in the noble cause of bringing succour to the families of fallen heroes and veterans.
Speaking as the Grand Patron of the Nigerian Legion, the President expressed delighted that the Nigerian legion has continued to be a rallying point of veterans, doing a lot in catering for the welfare of ailing members
”To ensure that our veterans continue to share the comradeship that existed while in Service and that their welfare is adequately catered for, the Federal Government established the Nigerian Legion as well as fully paid all pension arrears of veterans,” he said.
He urged State Governors, who are patrons of Legions in their respective States, as well as Nigerians, to continue to support and participate in the Legion’s initiatives in the areas of transportation, agriculture and housing development.
The President called on Nigerians and other residents in the country to procure and wear the emblems with pride in order to identify with those who laid down their lives for the peace and security of the county.
”I encourage all to donate generously in support of our veterans and dependents of our fallen heroes,” he said.
President Buhari announced a donation of N10 million to the Nigerian Legion.
Nigerian rapper, Ruggedman appears to have taken a swipe at Nigerian Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed over his call for the regulation of social media in the country.
Recall that the Minister who appeared before the House of Representatives Committee to defend the 2021 budget proposal on Tuesday October 27, had stated that the biggest challenge facing the country is the issue of fake news and misinformation.
The Minister stated that China has no google, Facebook and Instagram as everything is “well censored and well regulated. ” He warned that the next war that will be fought in the country and across the globe may be fought through social media. He also pointed out that #EndSARS protesters mobilized using social media.
In reaction to the call for social media regulation, Ruggedman questioned the minister’s assertion that social media would destroy Nigeria in the long run.
He said social media users only spread what is fed on the platform, he then advised the Federal government to feed social media with their positive works, if they won’t receive accolades from Netizens.
According to him, only individuals who do not want their failures exposed are afraid of social media.
He tweeted,
Who is us? Social media spreads what you feed it. Feed social media with positive works you have done and it will be spread it. You will in turn get respect and accolades. Only those who do not want their unproductive, failed selves exposed are afraid of social media. #DoYourWork

The soldier who was in viral video flogging curfew violators in Ilesha, has been identified as an Airforce officer and arrested.
The viral video shows the moment the soldier delivered some ‘hot whiplashes’ on the buttocks of civilians who were soaked in mud.
According to reports, the civilians disobeyed the curfew that was imposed in Osun State and they received the punishment from the soldiers so as not to repeat the action another time.

We wish to inform the general public that Nigeria Air Force has identified all the personnel involved in the incident & placed them on close arrest, while investigation to determine their level culpability has commenced, after which appropriate disciplinary action will be taken.
Nigeria Air Force as a professional & disciplined force, does not condone such irresponsible acts & has zero tolerance for human rights violations, in whatever guise, even against suspected criminals; as all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court of law.
The acts depicted in the video are at variance with our core values, as we place high premium on the rights of citizens. We wish to reassure that our personnel have been directed on professional conduct to ensure security, whilst remaining accountable to the Nigerian people.”

Popular Nigerian crossdresser, James Brown, has taken to social media to celebrate after he was discharged and acquitted of homosexuality charges against him alongside 57 others in November 2019.

Recall that the dancer, sometime ago pleaded with masses to come to his aid and put a stop to his court case, as the court keeps adjourning his case.
On the 26th of August, 57 suspected homosexuals were arrested by the police including James Brown. He was the guy who went viral for his wrong English. When asked if he was guilty of homosexuality, he replied, ‘They didn’t caught’ me.
However, The homosexuality charges that were filed against him have now been struck out by a federal court in Lagos.
Justice Rilwan Aikawa who ruled on the case on Tuesday October 27, struck out the case on ground of the charges against the defendants lacking “diligent prosecution” by the police.
While the federal high court judge pointed out that the prosecuting counsel, J.I Ebhoremen, was absent from court for the umpteenth time with no reasonable explanation, the defence counsel, Israel Usman noted that it was the ninth time Mr Ebhoremen didn’t show up in court since the case started in 2019.
Usman urged the Judge to strike out the case as Section 356(5) of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, 2015 provided a maximum of five adjournments at the instance of the prosecution in a criminal trial.
Ruling on the case, Aikawa said,
“I agree entirely with defendants’ counsel that the prosecution’s attitude to this case is not satisfactory. In my view, this should not be. If the prosecution has a cogent reason not to be in court, he should have communicated in writing to the court and copy the defense counsel.
“For whatever reason, the prosecution is no more capable or not willing to prosecute this case. Consequently, this case is struck out due to lack of diligent prosecution.”

“I am proud to be a Nigerian but I regret the generation of the bad leaders I met. Today is not a day to start talking about how rich Nigeria is but it is a pity that we elected unfortunate animals in humans’ form as our leaders.”
She further iterated that Nigeria is being governed by the Kingdom of darkness; “Years back, I remember an article I read where the writer strongly indicated that Nigeria is being governed by the kingdom of darkness and that is why people are suffering from untimely death in the country and the government is less concerned about it.”

Emmanuel further opined that Nigerians are living in bondage; “These so called politicians hardly would you see any of their relatives living in the ‘Bondage’ called Nigeria. You as a political leader just imagine if your only son or daughter was among the protesters that the soldiers killed, how would you feel? “Like I said earlier, they love people dying everyday than seeing them being alive especially the masses, but sir and ma, don’t forget the fact that nobody is as powerful as his maker, one day God will visit you and your family with his hanger. As per the Covid-19 palliatives discovered in those states, the people in charge should be prosecuted, there’s nothing to hide again, God has exposed all of you.

Chrissy Teigen, who lost her son Jack a few weeks ago, has expressed her pain in a recent lengthy essay posted to Medium.
The bereaved mother who opened up about her heartbreaking ordeal, reveals she wrote the essay with the hope that it will help her to move on.
She wrote,
“I had no idea when I would be ready to write this. Part of me thought it would be early on, when I was still really feeling the pain of what happened.”
“I thought I would sit in the corner of my bedroom with the lights dimmed, just rolling off my thoughts. I’d have a glass of red wine, cozy up with a blanket, and finally get the chance to address ‘what happened’.”
Narrating what happened, Chrissy said she gave birth to her third child, a son named Jack, stillborn after severe complications four months into the pregnancy.
“Instead, I’m writing from the downstairs couch, still cozied up in a blanket but buzzing from a morning of friends and fried chicken. I’m reading off countless notes from my phone — thoughts that have randomly popped up in the weeks since. I didn’t really know how I would start this, no matter the room or state I was in, but it feels right to begin with a thank you.
“For weeks, our floors have been covered in flowers of kindness. Notes have flooded in and have each been read with our own teary eyes. Social media messages from strangers have consumed my days, most starting with, ‘you probably won’t read this, but…’. I can assure you, I did.
“But I will tell you, some of the best letters started with, ‘You don’t have to respond to this, but…’. After we first lost Jack, I found myself incredibly worried that I wasn’t able to thank everyone for their extreme kindness. Many shared incredible personal experiences, some shared books and poems. I wanted to thank everyone, share our story with each individual person. But I knew I was in no state to. For me, the ‘no need to respond’ note was such a true relief. I thank you for each and every one of those.”
Recounting what happened on the day she lost her son, she wrote,
“One of the standout moments from that morning (or evening? I have no idea) was me going through the halls of labor and delivery, and John saying ‘What, is there a fucking party going on here??’
“Here we were, just wheeled down to a new floor, me covered in a thin blanket to hide, knowing I was about to fully deliver what was supposed to be the 5th member of our beautiful family, a son, only to say goodbye moments later. People cheered and laughed right outside our door, understandably for a new life born and celebrated. You kind of wonder how anyone is thinking about anyone but you.
“At this point I had already come to terms with what would happen: I would have an epidural and be induced to deliver our 20 week old, a boy that would have never survived in my belly (please excuse these simple terms).
“I was previously on bedrest for over a month, just trying to get the little dude to 28 weeks, a ‘safer’ zone for the fetus.
“My doctors diagnosed me with partial placenta abruption. I had always had placenta problems. I had to deliver Miles a month early because his stomach wasn’t getting enough food from my placenta. But this was my first abruption. We monitored it very closely, hoping for things to heal and stop.
“In bed, I bled and bled, lightly but all day, changing my own diapers every couple of hours when the blood got uncomfortable to lay in. I actually became an adult diaper expert for my own personal entertainment, truly appreciating the brands that went out of their way to not make me feel like an actual shitting baby. Some were blush colored, with drawn delicate flowers. I got to the point where I was actually like, ‘hell yeah, throw me the pink ones!’ — something I never thought I’d be excited for. But there we were.”
She went further,
“Finally, I had a pretty bad night in bed, after a not-so-great ultrasound, where I was bleeding a bit more than even my abnormal amount. My bleeding was getting heavier and heavier. The fluid around Jack had become very low — he was barely able to float around. At some points, I swore it was so low I could lay on my back and feel his arms and legs from outside my belly.
“After a couple nights at the hospital, my doctor told me exactly what I knew was coming — it was time to say goodbye. He just wouldn’t survive this, and if it went on any longer, I might not either. We had tried bags and bags of blood transfusions, every single one going right through me like we hadn’t done anything at all.
“Late one night, I was told it would be time to let go in the morning. I cried a little at first, then went into full blown convulsions of snot and tears, my breath not able to catch up with my own incredibly deep sadness. Even as I write this now, I can feel the pain all over again. Oxygen was placed over my nose and mouth, and that was the first picture you saw. Utter and complete sadness.”
At the time Chrissy shared photos shortly after the death of her son, some people called her out for taking pictures at such a moment.
Addressing it, she wrote,
“I had asked my mom and John to take pictures, no matter how uncomfortable it was. I explained to a very hesitant John that I needed them, and that I did NOT want to have to ever ask. That he just had to do it. He hated it. I could tell. It didn’t make sense to him at the time. But I knew I needed to know of this moment forever, the same way I needed to remember us kissing at the end of the aisle, the same way I needed to remember our tears of joy after Luna and Miles. And I absolutely knew I needed to share this story.
“I cannot express how little I care that you hate the photos. How little I care that it’s something you wouldn’t have done. I lived it, I chose to do it, and more than anything, these photos aren’t for anyone but the people who have lived this or are curious enough to wonder what something like this is like. These photos are only for the people who need them. The thoughts of others do not matter to me.”

Aregbesola also called on all Nigerians, particularly Muslims, to abhor violence, lawlessness, wantonness and robbery “as witnessed across the country most recently, stressing that Nigeria is the pride of the black race and should provide responsible leadership for the greatness and development of the African continent and all black people.”
Popular Nollywood actress, Ada Ameh, who recently lost her only child, has arrived Abuja for the burial of her only daughter, Aladi.
The bereaved mother shared a video of herself on social media on the plane arriving Abuja, asking her followers and fans to continue to pray for her even as the family grieves the loss of her only child.
She wrote,
“Glory be to God Almighty for his mercy!!! Fams pls y’all keep praying for me and my household.”
Recall that, few days ago the actress appealed to President Buhari and Governor Sanwo-olu to remove soldiers from the street so she can bury her daughter in peace.
Ada, popularly known as Emu in comedy sitcom, The Johnsons, lost her daughter days ago after an unsuccessful surgery.
According to her, her daughter died in Abuja and she needs to travel to the country’s capital to carry out the burial procession.
In a video she shared on Instagram, she broke down in tears and pleaded with Buhari to listen to the demands of the #EndSARS protesters so that normalcy can return. She also threatened to walk to the airport naked, holding a placard if the government fails to stop the killings.
Nigerians have reacted to Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed’s call for the regulation of social media in the country.
Recall that the Minister who appeared before the House of Representatives Committee on Information, National Orientation, Ethics and Values to defend the 2021 budget proposal on Tuesday October 27, had stated that the biggest challenge facing the country is the issue of fake news and misinformation.
The Minister stated that China has no google, Facebook and Instagram as everything is “well censored and well regulated. ” He warned that the next war that will be fought in the country and across the globe may be fought through social media. He also pointed out that #EndSARS protesters mobilized using social media.
Some Nigerians have however pointed out the flaws in Lai Mohammed’s insistence on social media regulation.
Femi Fani-Kayode, former Aviation Minister, has taken time to write to Lagos state governor, Jide Sanwo-Olu concerning the shootings that took place on the night of 20 October 2020, in Lekki Toll Gate, Lagos.
According to Femi, Sanwo-Olu must answer the questions surrounding the Lekki massacre.
He wrote;
YOU STAND ACCUSED OF MASS MURDER!
Governor Jide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos state, has told the world that,
1. He does not know who deployed soldiers to the streets of Lagos.
2. He does not know who gave them orders to go to the Lekki Toll Gate.
3. He does not know why they shot anyone.
4. He does not know who gave them orders to shoot anyone.
He may well be telling the truth but if he is why did he not step out immediately and go to the scene of the shooting to protect his people?
Why did he not act like a man?
Why did he not call out Buhari and the military immediately.
Why did he not get on the airwaves and tell the world that “they are killing my people!”
Why did he not express more outrage about the carnage and display more empathy for the victims?
Why did he not go to the front line in Lekki himself to face the bullets and protect the children.
Why did he not organise protest marches all over the state against the military immediately after the event and solidarity marches for those that were killed and wounded at Lekki?
This is my grouse with him. No strength, no rage, no power, no fire, no passion and no courage.
Leaders and Kings are meant to enter the fray of battle and fight like men and not tremble and bow before genocidal maniacs and murderers and those that kill their people.
Courage is the greatest of all the virtues but both he and his mentor clearly lack it. The latter actually disappeared for a few days and said nothing which proved that far from being a lion he is as timid as a mouse.
He only resurfaced and boasted that “I am still the Asiwaju of Lagos and the Jagaban” after things calmed down. Yet where was this Asiwaju and his cub Sanwoolu when their people were being slaughtered?
They were hiding under their beds and trying, to no avail, to reach their friend Buhari on the phone. Of course he ignored them and treated them with the contempt that they deserve.
I bet he was saying to himself, “how dare these common slaves call me to disturb my sleep in the middle of the night just because their houses are burning and their children are being killed by my soldiers! Are they the the only ones!”
You supported Buhari, helped to put him in power and turned a blind eye to his consistent crimes against humanity all over the country over the last 5 years.
Now you have experienced just a little of what he, his associates, his allies and his military have been doing to others all over the country for the last 5 years and you appear shocked and dazed.
Did you really believe that you and your people were exempt from the madness of the Buhari regime?
Did you and your mentor think that you were special and safe because you helped put him in power?
If you did, now you know better. The military have now told the world that YOU asked them to come into the streets of Lagos and you know the implications of that . To say the least, for you, they are grave.
It means they are trying to put the blame on you for the shedding of innocent blood.
It means they have betrayed you and thrown you under the bus. It means they have clothed your name with infamy and labelled you as a mass murderer.
It means they have portrayed you as a man that is prepared to call out the military and kill his own people at the drop of a hat.
It means they have made you the fall guy for the atrocities that they committed. It means they have made you a candidate for the International Criminal Court (ICC) at the Hague.
It means they have turned you into a man that stands accused of the most heinous, heartless and horrific war crimes.
Poor you. I really do feel sorry for you but frankly this is where cowardice and the accommodation of or acquiescence to evil always leads to.
When you refuse to fight or speak out against the wickedness and barbarity that is visited on others from outside your state and zone it will ultimately consumme you too.
That is the lesson of life. Every leader has a choice to make: to either turn a blind eye to the activities of sadistic and bloodthirsty tyrants and wholesale tyranny or stand up and fight them and we must live with the consequences of that choice.
Your intentions may we have been good but as they say, “the road to hell is always paved with good intentions”.
History proves that those that collude with evil rulers always perish.
It also proves that those who ride on the back of a tiger always end up in its stomach.
It is clear to me that you and your mentor may well have ended up in Buhari’s stomach.
I hate to say it again but we WARNED you!
Permit me to end this contribution with the following.
To all those insulting the grief of the bereaved and traumatized by claiming nobody died at the Lekki tollgate massacre, I urge them to watch the video that has been in circulation and that provides, in my view, incontrovertible evidence.
I should add that reports suggest that the bodies were collected by the soldiers and disposed of after the massacre.
The individual known as DJ Switch who filmed these events with her phone and who gave the public direct evidence about what she witnessed with her own eyes should be commended for her extraordinary courage and not condemned.
Had it not been for her efforts this great evil that was unleashed on our children by Government forces and rogue soldiers would have been covered up and brushed under the carpet like so many other barbaric acts of state-sponsored genocide, ethnic cleansing and mass murder have been covered up before in Nigeria.
Sanwo-Olu initially told the local media that no-one was killed but just a few days later he admitted to CNN that at least two people were killed. I have little doubt that sometime in the next few days and weeks he and others will be forced to admit that far many more were killed than that.
This is especially so given the fact that the main players now appear to be turning against one another and exposing each others dirty secrets and filthy role in this utterly reprehensible event and shameless chapter.
This is what always happens when thieves, rogues, murderers and genocidal maniacs fall apart.
Meanwhile we ask again:
1. WHO DEPLOYED THE SOLDIERS?
2. WHO ORDERED THE SHOOTING?
3. WHO ORDERED THE REMOVAL OF CCTV CAMERAS?
4. WHO GAVE INSTRUCTIONS TO SWITCH OFF THE
TOLL GATE LIGHTS?
5. WHO GAVE THE ORDER TO SWITCH OFF THE STREET LIGHTS?
6. WHO GAVE THE ORDER TO SWITCH OFF THE BILLBOARD LIGHTS?
7. WHO GAVE THE ORDER THAT AMBULANCES & HELICOPTERS SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO CARRY AWAY THE BODIES OF THE DEAD & WOUNDED?
8. WHO ORDERED THE SOLIDERS TO SEIZE & CARRY AWAY THOSE BODIES & WHERE WERE THEY TAKEN TO?
9. WHO LED THE SOLDIERS AND WHAT IS THE NAME OF THEIR COMMANDING OFFICER?
10. WHAT ROLE DID BUHARI, SANWOOLU, TINUBU AND HIS SON AND OTHER KEY STATE AND FEDERAL GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS AND THEIR
ASSOCIATES AND ALLIES PLAY IN THIS MATTER?
Until these questions are answered truthfully none of those that stand accused will have any peace of mind or rest and the matter will not die. The blood of the innocent cries to God in heaven for vengeance: justice will be done and they will be avenged.
The homosexuality charges that were filed against effeminate dancer, James Brown and 46 others in November of 2019, have been struck out by a federal court in Lagos.
He said;
“This is ninth adjournment at the instance of the prosecution in contravention of the statutory Act that regulates criminal justice system. We urge the court to dismiss the case and discharge the defendants.”
Ruling on the case, Aikawa said,
“I agree entirely with defendants’ counsel that the prosecution’s attitude to this case is not satisfactory. In my view, this should not be. If the prosecution has a cogent reason not to be in court, he should have communicated in writing to the court and copy the defence counsel.
“For whatever reason, the prosecution is no more capable or not willing to prosecute this case. Consequently, this case is struck out due to lack of diligent prosecution.”
