One of the sons of Oba Abiodun Idowu Oniru, the late Oniru of Iruland who died in 2019 and brother to popular Nigerian OAP, Toolz Oniru, Tijani Oniru has been spotted in a viral video being mobbed by some men who had “security” inscribed on their outfits.

Though what caused the altercation is still quite foggy as of this moment, one of the “security” men however, was heard saying that he came to attack them.

Tijani was subsequently pushed out of the gate. A Twitter user @harleem360 who shared the video and also tagged Lagos government authorities in his tweet, wrote,

Chief Superintendent of Police, Dolapo Opeyemi Badmus took to her page to reveal how people can identify a potential scammer

She warned people to avoid ponzi schemes that promises huge returns on investment. She added that banks and other financial institution won’t promise such huge turnover on investment.

She wrote:

“Please what’s Binono Business! From all indications scammers capitalize on greed to get you off your hard earned sweat! Whoever is offering you 500k on investment of 100k is definitely a scammer! Even Banks and other financial institutions won’t give you such turnover …….I remember how one of my friends introduced Ponzi or whatever scheme to me then, she told me I will have X2 of any amount I invest….I told my friend that my grandmother had warned me early enough that “Ole lo n so ogun di ogoji”. Franklin Amudo, a former manager of singer, DBanj, has released an official statement regarding the rape allegation leveled against DBanj by a lady, Seyitan Babatayo.

In his statement, Franklin said he’d invited Seyitan to an event in Lagos where DBanj attended and performed on December 30, 2018. He said later on Seyitan told him she couldn’t return home that night as it was too late and he then gave her the keys to his room to pass the night at Glee hotel.

Franklin said Seyitan called him later that night to allege that DBanj found his way into her room and raped her. He said he immediately called one Ajia Mohammed and informed him of the allegation Seyitan made. Franklin said Ajia told him not to worry about it and that he had given Seyitan $100, though the purpose for the money wasn’t stated.

Alleged fraudster, Hushpuppi with real name, Ramon Igbalode Abbas is currently being held at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Chicago.

The Instagram socialite who was apprehended in Dubai in June of this year and was extradited to the United States of America, appeared in court last Thursday.

Hushpuppi was charged with running a global fraud operation, including targeting an English Premier League football club, a bank and a US law firm.

Ramon Abbas, 37, who claims to run a real estate business, is alleged to have conspired to launder hundreds of millions of dollars through business email compromise (BEC) frauds and other scams, the US Department of Justice (DoJ) said.

He is also accused of laundering $14.7m stolen in a cyber-heist from an unnamed bank in February 2019, sending the money to bank accounts around the world.

Hushpuppi is being held at the Metropolitan Correctional Center, Chicago, the Federal Bureau of Prisons website says. He will be transferred to Los Angeles in the coming weeks, according the Justice Department.

If convicted of money laundering, he would face a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.

Nigerian Singer, Emma Nyra, has taken to her twitter page to tender an apology to all those who felt offended b a comment she made regarding alleged fraudster, Hushpuppi.

Recently, Emma Chukwugoziam Obi popularly known by her stage name, Emma Nyra blasted people who were rejoicing over the arrest of Hushpuppi.

According to the singer, people who are happy over the socialite’s downfall will not be getting any richer from his predicament.

She’d said ;

A lot of people are happy about what happened to Hushpuppi because he was oppressing them on social media. The truth is that rejoicing in his downfall is not gonna put money in your pocket. I’m tired of reading about someone else’s downfall. Let me jeje hustle my own.

Her tweet was met with backlash and she was called out and tagged a ‘fraud apologist’.

In a more recent tweet, the singer tendered an apology.

About two days ago, news made the round of a gentleman who was unfortunately caught in a web of con artists who ripped him off after he ordered an iPhone Xs Max but received a neatly packaged metal instead.

It was reported that the gentleman ordered the iPhone and paid N230,000 for the item with the intention of picking the gadget up from an assigned location however, on getting there and opening the package, he was shocked after seeing its content.

In a new development, it’s been discovered that the Enugu-based gentleman who actually wanted to buy the gadget asked his friend who resides in Lagos to help him get the phone in the city as it’ll be a lot more cheaper than it is in Enugu.

It’s now been discovered that it was this Lagos friend who tried to scam his Enugu friend by showing that a metallic object was received instead of a phone by the dealer, Andrewtech.

The said Lagos friend had even altered the receipt of the purchase just so he could aid his fraudulent scheme towards his friend. He’d collected 250k from his friend, paid 220k to Andrewtech and altered the receipt, writing 230k.

The gentleman who owns the phone reached out to us recently to explain in detail what had occurred. In a voice note sent to our DMs, the gentleman is heard saying,

Good afternoon Yabaleftonline, I’m the guy that paid for the phone… I actually paid the money to my guy to help me purchase phone from Lagos because I couldn’t get the phone here in Enugu and the phone was expensive (the ones that are sold here).

So it was cheaper in Lagos then I sent money to the guy to help me purchase the phone, which he did… he actually bought from Mr Andrewtech, 222 thousand naira, so but he collected 250k from me. So Mr Andrew delivered the item to him, so the issue now is not from Mr Andrew.

The fault is not from Mr Andrew, the fault is from the person I sent money to. The person delivered fake product to me

The iPhone Andrewtech sent for delivery.

In another development, the culprit who tried to scam his friend, made a video apologizing for his fraudulent behaviour. Watch below,

In a new tragic report, a young makeup artist is said to have died on her birthday while she was dancing as she celebrated her special day.

Deborah Tushima had hours before her death, taken to her social media page to thank God for adding another year and more particularly, thanked Him for the gift of life.

However, in a rather tragic circumstance, Deborah is said to have slumped and died while she was dancing at her birthday celebration in Jos, the capital of Plateau state.

Her quite shocked friends have since taken to social media to mourn the late Deborah as they express their shock over her sudden and quite tragic death.

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, distances self from Hushpuppi

Former Nigerian Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has denied having any affiliation with embattled alleged fraudster, Hushpuppi.

Recently, ruling party, APC released a statement in which it urged the EFCC and other security agencies to investigate the links between Hushpuppi and some PDP chieftains.

The party in its statement stated that Hushpuppi has been photographed with Atiku and some other PDP stalwarts like Bukola Saraki, Dino Melaye, and Yakubu Dogara and so they should be investigated to determine if they have any link with the socialite.

Reacting to the statement by the ruling party, Paul Ibe, media aide to the former Vice President, said the photo of Atiku and Hushpuppi making the rounds was a mere photo-op and not at any meeting as is being speculated.

It is curious that the All Progressives Congress is mischievously trying to link Atiku Abubakar to the alleged fraudster, Ramon Abbas, AKA Hushpuppi, simply because he was photographed with Atiku at an event where many Nigerians had gathered.

For the avoidance of doubt, it was a mere photo-op and not at any meeting as being ingloriously speculated. We would advise the APC and Mr. Nabena to be very mindful of such senseless statements in the future especially as the case under reference is a subject of litigation in another country.

Had they been more sensitive, they would have come to terms with the reality that the case is a national embarrassment – not something to cheer about for any political blackmail.”

A Nigerian journalist has shared his opinion on the acting dexterity of Nollywood actresses, Genevieve Nnaji and Adesua Etomi.

Gimba Kakanda on Twitter opines that veteran actress, Genevieve Nnaji is an average actress and there isn’t anything extraordinarily spectacular about her acting. He also said the same for Adesua Etomi but says her acting career is still quite early for her to be judged.

He wrote,

Genevieve is actually an average actress, there’s nothing extraordinarily spectacular about her acting. You should be talking about someone like Mercy Johnson if you want to talk about someone much more talented, and above the league of Adesua.

I watched Sugar Rush when it hit the cinema, and I didn’t find Adesua Etomi’s acting underwhelming as some have observed. She’s your everyday Nollywood actress, nothing spectacular but commendable. It’s too soon to judge her fairly because we haven’t seen the extent of her range.

Nigerian Lady shares conversation with her cab guy who wants to eat her ‘kinni’

A angry Nigerian Lady took to Twitter to share a conversation she had with her private cab guy.

Tito who took to her Twitter handle via @TitoOfLagos expressed her anger after her cab guy chose to disrespect her.

Apparently, Tito had shared a photo of her laps on her Whatsapp status to her contact list, when her cab guy replied her with “Can I come and eat your kinni while you stay in bed am sure it will help calm your nerves”

Tito who felt it was disrespectful replied, “Eat whose kini???? Are you mad or something because what the hell is the disrespect for”

The cab guy then replied, “No disrespect intended, just being naught with a friend I so much respect”.

Tito gave him her last words, then blocked the cab driver.

Looks like his services is no longer required.

Six dead, two missing as boat going to Ikorodu capsizes in Lagos

Six persons were confirmed dead in the early hours of Saturday, while two passengers were declared missing after a commercial boat enroute Ikorodu, Lagos, capsized in the wee hours of Friday, 3rd of July, 2020 at Ipakodo ferry terminal.

The six adult females that lost their lives to the incident were later recovered by local divers. The boat captain and his assistant could not be found as search and rescue effort is ongoing to recover the victims.

All efforts by the Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA) Team to get the manifest of the boat proved abortive as the LASWA Officials at Ikorodu jetty could not establish the number of passengers on board from Ebute – Ero.

The 20 capacity passenger boat with the name LALEK MARINE, is suspected to have left Ebute Ero jetty around 8 p.m, which is two hours after approved sailing time of 6 p.m.
