“With the number of tithers, Nigeria should have been the wealthiest nation on earth if tithing was God’s device for prosperity. There were some fathers who paid tithe until they died but at their death there was no money to buy coffin”
Those were the exact words of Nigeria’s controversial pastor, Abel Damina, in one of his sermon video. The statement has gone viral, receiving various opinions from users all over the internet.
The pastor emphasized how paying tithes does not equal prosperity unlike what the mainstream beliefs teach. He said everyone is meant to be rich not only those that pay their tithe but that if it is otherwise, God may be a partial Being who indulges in classism.
Netizens have a lot to say on the resurrected topic and here are some of them:
@Ifeanyi Igwe: Damina will not stop exposing ministry business
@Uchechukwu Unegbu Neubliss-Autos: Tithing is a law of life; you will either pay to your god(in secret)or to the God of all flesh. Your nagging won’t stop it. Till tomorrow, I will keep paying my tithe with all my children inclusive. I think hugging the transformer is a good idea.
@Evangelist Odafe Oghenevwoke: One question: The big church auditorium he has, was tithe & offering involved in the building? If no! Your message is okay. But if yes, this message is hypocrisy. I’m not a church Pastor, I’m a Christian into Evangelism Ministry. I don’t condemn what others sourced from the Bible. What I advocate is: every Christian should practice what they are convinced about.

The majority however noted that his reason for not choosing to have kids yet is valid.

Singer Portable, after being arrested over the debt of twenty-seven million and released on bail hours later, went straight to the studio to record another hit song to detail his experience.
This is not uncommon to the Nigerian artiste who gets inspired by his ordeal, scandal, or controversy enough to release a song to that effect.
His arrest in the early hours of yesterday was due to his refusal to settle the payment of the GL car he collected on credit in January 2024.
The term of the agreement was that he would pay in installments subsequently over the months which he did not heed despite the buyer’s plea and threat.
Instead, Portable had gone online to celebrate his new car, claiming he got it for sixty million without being in debt.
So when the buyer took strait action to have him arrested, he tried to jump over a gate to evade arrest but was caught and bundled into the police’s vehicle.
His act of swiftly climbing the gate was captured in video and has gone viral on the internet, gaining traction.
Zazu on being freed produced the song, ‘Spiderman’ to eulogize his deft climbing ability and perhaps also take the sting out of netizens trolling him online over the video.
Following the report by the pathologist that the autopsy done for the late Mohbad yielded no result because his body was already decomposing when it was examined, the widow of the deceased expressed her sorrow via her Instagram handle.
The body of the late Ilerioluwa Imole A.K.A Mohbad was exhumed nine days after being interred, when Nigerians probed into the cause of his death which was termed suspicious.
Mohbad’s autopsy report was released eight months after his death, but the expectations of people who were waiting to hear the news were dashed after the coroner rendered it invalid.
It finally looks like nothing else can be done to pursue his cause of death and this hopelessness is evinced on Wunmi’s post which says, “Ilerioluwa, ma sun (don’t sleep)” and a couple of blank dark pages.
The late twenty-seven-year old singer died on September 12, 2023, under suspicious circumstances after a strange illness and was buried that same day.
But when Nigerians started to fight for his justice because it was allegedly claimed the duo, Naira Marley and Sam Larry were responsible for his untimely demise, his body was unearthed.
This recent update about his death brings a note of finality to everything, and most hope he be reburied soon and get to rest infinitely.

A Nigerian woman, identified simply as Susu, has narrated how her husband abandoned her and their newborn in the hospital.
The first-time mom, who goes by the handle @Pharm_prenuer on X, revealed that she suddenly developed shortness of breath during her 35th week of pregnancy and was promptly rushed to the hospital.
Upon arrival, doctors recommended a Caesarean section (CS) due to her condition. However, despite her excruciating pain, her husband insisted on a natural delivery.
Fortunately, Susu received a generous donation of N500,000 from a good Samaritan to cover the cost of the CS procedure.
She then gave her husband N240,000 out of the funds for the medical expenses, only for him to squander the money on purchasing a new phone and a dog.
She said she gave the remaining money to her sister to sort the bill and subsequently gave birth to a baby girl.
However, the joy of childbirth quickly turned to anguish as Susu’s husband fled, abandoning her and their newborn child in the hospital.
Susu is currently seeking financial assistance from well-meaning Nigerians to continue treatment because she has been diagnosed with Peripartum Cardiomyopathy.
“Dear Twitter Nigeria, I am appealing to you all for your help to save my life to stay alive to nurse my new born child.
I got traditionally married recently and took in.
I thought that was the best thing that happened to me, everything was going well until I entered 35th week.
I suddenly developed shortness of breath,I could barely walk 2secs without being out of breath.
Thinking it was one of those symptoms of late pregnancy,I didn’t take it seriously until the 14th of April when I could barely breath,I couldn’t lift my head up.
I was rushed to a nearby clinic, they couldn’t handle me,so I was taken to my hospital where I was admitted and placed on oxygen.
They Drs told my husband we should opt for CS,as I and my unborn child were at risks..my husband said no,that I’d definitely deliver naturally.
He insisted he had no money for CS,they should work on stabilizing my breathing…so for three days,I was on oxygen and feeling better, seeing that I was responding to treatment,my husband went around and insisted I should be discharged against Drs advice.
It almost became an issue,I was too weak to argue with him,he insisted on discharge so I was discharged early the next morning.
A few hours after we arrive home, the breathing problems started again.
I struggled with it,this man went and bought Agbo from one Yoruba woman.
Told me to drink,it would make my baby turn it’s head for natural delivery, the other Agbo could make my cervix slippery.i was in so much pain that I drank only for the pain to intensify.
I struggled so much till about 1am in the morning when I couldn’t take it anymore..
I cried out, my neighbors came running and I was again rushed to the hospital, admitted and placed on oxygen while my Drs determine what to be done, my husband insisted he had no money for CS.. all these while I was spending my life’s savings on medications, this and that tests.
This dragged on until the morning of 29th April, I was broken,my baby wasn’t moving, my breathing wasn’t good,I can’t pushed and my baby’s position was beached.
I cried out on Facebook where a kind Samaritan sent me 500k to pay for CS and whatever else I might need afterwards.
I immediately sent the sum of 180k and an additional 60k so he could pay for the surgery and whatever we might need.
He took the money and spent it instead on a phone and bought a dog.
While I was battling with life, thinking he was paying.
We waited from 10am when I gave him the money to about 2pm, Drs were shouting, time was running out, I had to call his sister, counted another 180k and gave her, she’s the one who paid. He came at 6pm when I was been wheeled into the theater. I could hear both of them fighting, the sister threatening to arrest him.
I’ve given birth through CS and he has currently abandoned me, my new born baby girl and my aged mother at the hospital, we have spent all we have on bills, medications, tests, food, so many other things, I’m stranded and do not know what else to do.”

The viral post reads, “What subject can you write about successfully without studying?”
In response, Bobola wrote, “It will still be Mathematics. If I don’t know a question initially, I will still find my way but I won’t be stranded. Never!”
Interestingly, Fisayo responded,“Come and marry me please 🙏 so you can help our kids with their math homework 🥴”
He then proceeded to slide into her DMs to continue their conversation, leading to the beginning of a beautiful relationship.

In a thought-provoking video that has since gone viral, a woman has shared her unique perspective on why men should consider adopting their wives’ last names
Drawing inspiration from biblical teachings, the woman claims that the sacred book instructs men to leave their parents and cleave to their wives.
Interpreting this as a call to let go of everything associated with their own family, including their last name, she believes men should embrace their wives’ surnames as a symbol of unity and commitment.
Notably, the woman shares that this perspective is often overlooked and disregarded
However, she emphasizes that the choice to adopt a spouse’s last name should be a personal decision, and she respects women who choose to take their husband’s name.
She also stated that she, personally, would not change her last name, as she does not view herself as a mere “cow” to be branded with her husband’s name.
While her viewpoint may be odd, it has sparked conversations online about gender roles, and societal expectations.
Here are some reaction from viewers:
MARADONA : “Nah Queen James Version be her bible”
@M : “Tell us say you dey craze without telling us”
@kaydeyofficial : “The Bible says nothing about a man or a woman taking each others name.
@Winifred : “What Bible is this one talking about??? What is wrong with people???”
Social media influencer and dating matchmaker, Adams Kehinde popularly known as Lege Miami has queried the General Overseas of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor E.A. Adeboye over the academic conditions of his church members.
Lege had asked Pastor E.A. Adeboye in a video that he shared on his Instagram page to make his school free for his church members.
He had suggested this to the General Overseer after a member of his church approached him to help him pay off part of his tuition fee.
Lege who didn’t disclose if he assisted the student or not, said the undergraduate revealed to him that he attended Redeem.
After suggesting that Pastor Adeboye places his church members on scholarships he added that the staff of the institution should also be able to work for free, bearing in mind that they are working for God.
In the video, he said;
“Somebody approached me now and said he needed to pay off some fees at school, I asked him what church he attends and he said Redeem and I am aware that there’s a private institution under your church. The parents of these children are the same people who paid the offerings and tithes you used in erecting the university, please don’t be offended why not allow your church members attend your school for free and continuing using the money contributed at the church to maintain the institution. Please sir they keep approaching us on the streets, we have not eaten as well. Also the staffs at the institution should be able to work for you for free.”
A shocking incident was posted on Tiktok by @Staceyrey7, it happened when a father used a hair removal cream to wash his daughter’s hair.
He had assumed the cream or soap to be used to wash and condition hair, but was shocked when his wife upon seeing the cream, inquired what he was doing.
The father touched the hair and with his grip came her hair all falling off. He realized in shock that he had been using the wrong product all along and it had in fact, damaged the little girl’s hair.
Netizens were filled with outrage, and even more so when the couple engaged in a shouting bout instead of swiftly salvaging what was left of the hair.
Read some of the comments,
@Favour Agbai: Please hope this is a prank 🥺
@Amarachi Esther Iroegbu: Such careless parents.
@Olufunke Temiye: All the stupid time they are arguing and wasting precious time; grab the kid and wash that nonsense off first then go back to arguing as if your lives depend on it. Gosh!!!
@Clare Apumami: So heartbroken. Over a stupid prank. Hair removal doesn’t foam like that. Part of the hair is pulled is much longer than the rest of the hair… Na wa.
@David Ikonne: Una dey yell instead of washing it off… content creation. And he’s calling her “bro”. Okay
The hilarious part to this was the girl touching the soap on her head and tasting it, as if to ascertain whatever is best known to her.
