Tonto who urged young people to save for important things and also to spoil themselves, concluded by stating that it’s never rosy for people as it seems on social media.

She wrote;

Quick advice for young hustling people:

A lot of you come on social media to see people who are having a great time with exotic trips and vacation, and you slip into depression, what you don’t know is that many people plan and save towards their trips. Some people plan a year before or even two years. A beautiful photo that shows a vacation might be a result of saving for many years. Don’t be deceived into thinking it’s that easy. It is not. Even the flashy cars and houses and phones you see with rich people, they plan and save towards it. They won’t tell you, all you know is that they just got a house. Go and ask them how long it took to save up, and the sacrifices they made to gather up the finances.

See, it’s never really too rosy for people as it seems on social media. Just keep working hard. Save for important things. Save to spoil yourself.

Man who made fake coronavirus claim causing Toronto-Jamaica flight to return to the airport, explains why he did it

A man who made a false claim that he had coronavirus, causing a Toronto-to-Jamaica WestJet flight to return to the airport, has explained why he did it.

James Potok, 28, who has been arrested and charged with mischief and breach of recognizance, told Global News that he did it because he was looking to “get a viral video” to boost his profile as an artist, but admits the stunt was in “poor taste.”

“Well, I had my camera with me. I was looking to get a viral video. I was looking to get it up on all the social media platforms,” James Potok told Global News on Tuesday.

“It seemed to me like this was in poor taste, in retrospect. What I did, I stood up, I said, ‘Can I have everybody’s attention? I just came back from Hunan Province — and that was it.”

“I figured it would invoke some type of reaction, not on the plane. More people seeing on social media, going, ‘Wow, this kid’s got some balls,’ or, ‘This kid is crazy.’”

According to Peel Regional Police, Potok will appear in court on March 9.

In a statement, WestJet said Flight 2702, with 243 passengers on board, was on its way to Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay on Monday when the flight was disrupted by an “unruly guest.”

The airline said the plane returned to Toronto, and “out of an abundance of caution,” the flight crew followed all protocols for infectious disease on board.

The airline also disclosed that Flights 2702 and 2703 were cancelled as a result of the incident

Another passenger, Tiffany Richards, who was on the flight at the time of the incident said she was asleep when a man got up and made an announcement.

“What he basically said (is), ‘I need everyone’s attention. I have just returned from Wuhan, one of the capital cities of China, and it’s an epicentre for the coronavirus,” she recalled.

“I’m feeling really, really sick right now. I think I might be infected. I need everyone to stay away from me, like please don’t come near me.

“He repeated himself a couple of times, and that was that. And he sat down.”

My Mother’s Fame Is Affecting My Breakthrough In Music Career – Bukky Wright’s Son, Ojayy

Afro Pop singer, Ojayy Wright, and son of popular Nollywood actress, Bukky Wright, has attributed the low moments in his music career to his mum’s fame.

He revealed this in a recent chat with Segun Adebayo, when asked why he is one of the most underrated acts in Nigeria.

“I think people are right to imagine that, so I would easily say they have every reason to think like that. But personally, I think it stemmed from the pressure to succeed my mother, who is an actress. So people just expect more from me.”

Read excerpts below:

Don’t you think the pressure of being the son of Bukky Wright is weighing you down?

Well, you are right because it definitely affected my breakthrough a bit. As I said, people just expect more from me than the average person. But it isn’t weighing me down. I relish the challenge of being who I am and the position I have been put in.

At a point, it appeared you wanted to ride on the back of your mum’s success as a celebrated thespian.

I was never trying to ride anyone’s back. I am the son of Bukky Wright. People are always going to say this or that about me and I just had to learn to deal with it. I can’t hide who I am, especially if you have a parent as famous as mine. However, life has been good, I have been working on more music and movies.

One would expect that being the son of a celebrity would help your career and take you a step ahead of others. How much influence did her status have on your music career?

It has a decent amount of influence on my career. But again, it has its high and low moments, being famous before actually becoming famous can mess with your head. But I am sure at the end of the day, my last name will still work for me. That’s years and decades of work and legacy that go into that name “Wright” and nothing anyone can do about it once God says it is time!

Growing up with her, what kind of mum was she and how much did she indulge you in your quest to do music?

She’s very strict. but I couldn’t ask for a better mother. She was all about school when I first started and she didn’t actually support me in the beginning. I think it’s partly because she knew what she went through to get to where she is today and she knew it would be difficult for me. But eventually after several songs, she gave in and she has been supportive ever since.

There was a time we learnt that you both disagree on the way forward. Was it that she disapproved of your career path or you disagreed on how she wanted you to run your game?

She actually disapproved of how I wanted to run my game. I was still young and I just got out of school. I was very enthusiastic about getting into the game and the real world but at the same time, I was naive and she could see that. But it wasn’t anything major, we quickly settled the whole thing.

I am the ‘Jesus’ of Nigerian Music – Terry G (video)

Terry G

Singer, Terry G, has described himself as the “Jesus” of Nigerian music, saying he set the pace for the present trend in the industry.

The “Free Madness” crooner who has been silent in the musical scene for some years, claimed that Nigerians have now embraced his kind of music.

Terry G who spoke to Channels Television on Tuesday, admitted that he was criticised and discriminated because he smokes, and for his kind of music when he started out years ago.

“I’m the Jesus of Nigerian music, I’m not the Christ. The Christ is the savior, Jesus is a name, and for the fact that Jesus is the most popular name that died for us and sacrificed for us,” the singer explained.

He added, “It took me a while to take this risk that a lot of persons discriminated against me for and now, they see people smoking, doing stuff and nobody is talking. There must be a pace-setter.”

According to Terry G, he is the “Jesus” of the Nigerian music industry who set the pace and sacrificed for his artistic genre.

He, however, claimed many Nigerians were hypocritical, adding that they have embraced and supported most of the things they criticised him for in the past.

Comparing himself to rave of the moment, Naira Marley, Terry G admitted that it was not in his place to decide whether he was more influential than the UK-trained artiste.

Marley, the singer said, is only trying to ‘archive’ him, although he sees both of them “making the world go crazier.”

The “Akpako Master” also revealed that he once rejected a deal with Sony Music, claiming that it did not pay.

He, therefore, called on Nigerian singers to ensure they understand the details of every agreement before they sign deals.

In addition, Terry G urged artistes to take advantage of their fame, saying it does not last forever.

“When the lights are shining on you, do not think that they would be forever. My own fame was full of pressure, controversies,” he decried.
