A suspect of cyber fraud, Oseghale Collins, was on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Benin Zonal Office at his hideout in Benin City, Edo State.
Collins who specialises in Business Email Compromise, BEC, was arrested alongside two brothers, Stephen and Fred Emefiele, who are also alleged to be involved in internet fraud.
In his confessional statement, Collins stated that he specialises in BEC and that his modus operandi was to search for email addresses especially official business email addresses, create a phishing link and compromise the process in order to defraud unsuspecting victims. .
When operatives arrived their apartment in the Government Reservation Area, GRA, in Benin City, they met what appears to be a workstation of laptops, printer, internet modem, flash drive, with which they operate. AMercedes Benz ML 350 was also recoveredfrom the suspect.
They will soon be arraigned in court.
A man has been nabbed after he tried to steal a plasma TV from a hotel in Makurdi, Benue State.
The suspect was caught with the Plasma TV placed in a trolley bag after the hotel’s security insisted on running a check.

Imam Tawhidi, popularly known as the Imam of Peace on social media has reacted after a Muslim woman was pictured wearing a burqa in a pool.
The Imam condemned the “years of brainwashing” that makes Muslim women have to cover up completely because men see their entire body as “100% vagina”.

Rapper, Ikechukwu had a near-death experience last weekend after suffering from food poisoning. He however got saved, following the timely intervention of an Uber driver.
The rapper revealed that he was alone in his house at the time of the incident and his calls to friends rang out with no answer. Ikechukwu said the Uber driver came to his aid and rushed him to the hospital after he ordered for a ride as no one was picking up his calls.
Asserting that life is unpredictable, Ikechukwu revealed that he got better after being taken to 3 hospitals.

Marvin Records producer, Don Jazzy has reacted mockingly after a Big Brother Naija 2019 housemate, Frodd suddenly turned himself a laundry man for fellow housemate, Esther.
Frodd, who seems to be obsessed with his love for Esther, had on Tuesday told the female housemate that only her towel was left unwashed having washed every other thing for her, promising to wash the towel on Wednesday.
This particular action by Frodd stirred reactions among BBNaija followers and Don Jazzy, who is a top fan of the reality show, as he mocked Frodd, calling him a ‘washerman’.

A 13-year-old schoolboy took his life after finding out the girl he has a crush on had started dating somebody else.
Harry Storey, told friends on Whatsapp that he was feeling suicidal but they thought he was joking. Later that night on March 1 his father Andrew found his body at their home in Chilton, Oxfordshire.
Mr Storey said: “I could not comprehend what I was seeing.”
He carried out CPR and when his wife walked in he shouted for her to call emergency services. Harry was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital where he died three days later.
An inquest heard yesterday that it was unlikely that Harry had intended to kill himself. The deceased’s father said: “We watched a programme where the female star had hanged herself but her friends rescued her. It made us wonder whether he had a sensationalised view of what might happen.”
Paying tribute to his son, Mr Storey said: “Harry was a charismatic, caring boy and sport was a huge part of his life, playing rugby, cricket and tennis. He would talk to anyone with ease and he had a natural ability to strike up a conversation, which I admired him for.
“He seemed to us to be just a normal teenager but he did have high expectations of himself. It came as a complete shock to me.”
Detective Sergeant Lou Heffernan-Glover said: “I think he lost consciousness unexpectedly. It could not have been predicted or prevented by his family.”
Coroner Darren Salter recorded a verdict of misadventure.
He said: “Harry did the action himself and had made comments about suicide. However teenagers do say things of that nature.
“There is an element of speculation but it seems to me that Harry did not intend it to be fatal. Therefore the conclusion is one of misadventure. Misadventure is similar to an accident, it is the deliberate undertaking of a risk that goes wrong, causing death.”

The Federal Inland Service (FIRS) on Monday August 19, published a list of 19,901 individuals and organisations, who default on tax payment in Nigeria.
Owners of the 19,901 accounts including Obasanjo Farms Nig. Ltd (Feedmill); Iyiola Omisore & Par; Citiroof Aluminium Co. Ltd; Coldstone Creamery Limited (Yaba); Davido Music Worldwide Ltd; and others were given 29 days to pay their taxes or see it get deducted from their bank accounts.
Reacting to the news, Davido took to Twitter to simply say, ‘Lol I’m on my cash shit’.

FIRS on Monday August 19, published a list of 19,901 accounts yet to update their tax status.
Owners of the 19,901 accounts were given 29 days to pay their tax or see it get deducted from their bank accounts. The notice read in parts;
“This is to notify all Companies, which had their Bank Accounts placed under Lien by the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) pursuant to Section 31 of the FIRSE Act, but are yet to regularise their tax status with the FIRS, that if they fail, refuse or neglect to pay the tax due within 30 days of this Notice, the FIRS shall in accordance with Section 49 (2) (a- d) of the FIRSE Act proceed and enforce the payment of the said tax against all the Directors, Managers, Secretaries and every other person concerned in the management of the Companies and recover the said tax from such persons without further notice,” it said.
“For the avoidance of doubt, the above Section authorises the FIRS to proceed against and punish every officer, Manager, Director, Secretary or any person concerned with the management of the Company in like manner as if he/she had committed the offence.”

Head of states, President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday August 20, told his Ministers designate that majority Nigerians are extremely poor.
The President made the disclosure at the end of the two-days Presidential Retreat for designate and senior Government officials.
Buhari affirmed that these poor Nigerians are anxiously hoping for a better life and a Nigeria where they won’t have to worry about what they will eat, where they will live or if they can afford to pay for their children’s education or healthcare.

After two days, we have come to the end of a successful retreat. However, you will agree that our work is just beginning.
These last two days have been very instructive for me personally, because I have had the opportunity to know many of you new Ministers-Designate better. I was also pleased to see that you have all equally enjoyed debating and deliberating on the various challenges before us over the next 4 years.
Ladies and Gentlemen, majority of our people are poor and are anxiously hoping for a better life. A Nigeria in which they do not have to worry about what they will eat, where they will live or if they can afford to pay for their children’s education or healthcare.
Our responsibility as leaders of this great country is to meet these basic needs for our people. As I mentioned yesterday, this Administration inherited many challenges from our predecessors to mention a few:
A country in which 18 local governments in the Northeast were under the control of Boko Haram
Decayed infrastructure in which our rail lines and roads had severely deteriorated;
A rent seeking economy that depended largely on oil revenues and imports
Significant unpaid pensions, subsidy debts, legacy contractor debts. I can go on and on.
In our first term, we laid the foundation to rebuild our country. We recaptured those 18 Local Governments previously held by Boko Haram, whose activities are now limited to sporadic attacks against soft targets.
Our investments in road and rail infrastructure are without precedent, and many of you can attest to this. We also focused on diversifying the economy from oil towards agriculture and industrialization.
Despite reduced revenues from oil and gas compared to past governments, we have broadly addressed many of the legacy debts they left behind.
Whilst we have obvious successes to celebrate, the challenges ahead are significant as you would have observed in detail over these two days. Nevertheless, from the quality of the deliberations, it is clear that solutions to our problems are well researched and have been well articulated.
We have discussed solutions relating to addressing Insecurity; Macroeconomic Stability; Agriculture and Food Security; Energy Security for Petroleum products and Electricity; Transportation and Critical Infrastructure; Industrialization and SME Development; Human Capital Development; Social Inclusion; Anti-Corruption; Housing Financing and Consumer Credit.
Public service is not easy work, and at times it can be thankless. I am therefore charging you all to see this opportunity to serve as an honour, to give your best to deliver on this mandate, for a more prosperous Nigeria, not for some, but for all Nigerians.
You will find that working collaboratively and purposefully will enable us to achieve quicker results, recognizing that four years is not a very long time. For the new Ministers, make sure you engage and benefit from the experience of the older Ministers and former Governors in the cabinet.
In terms of coordination, kindly ensure that all submissions for my attention or meeting requests be channeled through the Chief of Staff, while all Federal Executive Council matters be coordinated through the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
I would like to thank the Office of the SGF for coordinating this successful Presidential Retreat. I would also like to thank the National Assembly leadership, the Party Chairman, Chairman of the Governors Forum, and resource firms, for the active engagements and contributions.
Once again, the challenges that lie ahead of us as a country are significant. But I have no doubt in your individual capacities and our collective patriotic commitment to deliver a better Nigeria for us, our children and a brighter future for all.

In the latest juiciest report, it looks like singer, Kizz Daniel will be joining the league of celebrities with baby mamas as the singer’s girlfriend, Adedamola, an Instagram model and graduate of Afe Babalola University is rumoured to be pregnant for him.

A 25 year old Nigerian transgender who goes by the name, Veso Golden Oke is set to be compete in a beauty pageant in Ghana with other ‘real’ ladies.
It is said that Veso is now officially recognized as the first transgender allowed to compete openly in a beauty pageant in Africa, and if she eventually wins it, she’ll represent Ghana at Miss Europe Continental in Italy.

A Nigerian footballer who attacked a woman outside a nightclub in Clapham in the United Kingdom on New Year’s Eve has been sentenced to 32 months in prison.
On Monday, Andrew Akingbaje, 24, was jailed at the Inner London Crown Court for the violent assault. On New Year’s Eve, Krystal Misson and her two female friends were outside Lotus Bar in Clapham.
Akingbaje, who up until that point had not been known to the group, attacked Ms. Misson, punching her several times and dragging her along the ground by her hair.
A second attack followed in which he hit Ms. Misson repeatedly in the face and body, causing her to fall to the ground. This second attack was filmed by a friend of hers and was posted on social media, leading to Akingbaje’s subsequent arrest.
The footballer, who has previously served prison sentences for grievous bodily harm (GBH) against another woman and drugs offences, will now return to prison and serve a further term.
Gambian actress, Princess Shyngle was forced to delete a photo from her Instagram page after she was busted over the body in the photo not being hers.
Shyngle was forced to delete IG user, Miss Lulu Simmons’ “body” from her page after being publicly shamed by the model.
The Gambian-born actress had shared the photo on her page, though with the model’s head ‘missing’ while dragging those she claimed blamed her after getting cheated on by her boyfriend in the Instagram post.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has finally admitted to raiding former Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode’s home after denying the report earlier.
Though eyewitnesses said the anti-graft agency’s operatives were stopped by residents of Epe (Ambode’s hometown), the commission claims they were attacked by Ambode’s hoodlums in a statement released by its head of media and publicity Wilson Uwajuren.
He also disclosed that three officers were injured in the attack, while the EFCC official vehicle was damaged.
Wilson said,
“the EFCC had obtained valid warrant to conduct search on Ambode’s residences in Park View, Ikoyi and country home in Epe, as part of ongoing investigation of alleged malfeasance”.
“The attack was totally unprovoked as the Commission’s operatives were civic and did not molest anybody. The Commission therefore frowns at the attempt to manipulate the video of the search to create the wrong impression that officers of the agency molested residents at the Epe home of the governor. It is also not true that the search was an attempt to plant foreign currencies in the home of the former governor,” he added.

Top Nigerian comedian, AY Makun turned a year older recently and in light of this, fans and colleagues of the comic act showered him with birthday wishes and all – his wife was definitely not left out in also wishing him a happy birthday.
Shortly after the entertainer shared a video of his wife, Mabel singing a birthday song to him as he celebrated his 48th birthday, he was dragged into an exchange with a follower who alleged that she looked unhappy.
Commenting on the video, the follower stated that Mabel looked unhappy when everyone else is celebrating her husband. She further asked her to put on a big smile for him.
Why does she look so unhappy ,were celebrating here not otherwise.pls put on a big smile for AY the grand master of laughter.
AY in his response to the comment, pointed out the follower’s ‘unsolicited concern’ while blaming his wife’s look on travelling for hours. He wrote;
@jo.sephine281 when you travel for hours and land very early in the morning, don’t expect too much. The smile you are looking for in one video, i have been getting for 15 years. Thanks for your unsolicited concern
His wife also reacted to the comment as she backed her husband on her tired look being because she was jet-lagged. She wrote;
My husband reposted a video of myself wishing him happy birthday and someone commented on his page saying i looked so unhappy. Truth is, sometimes things are not really the way we see them. There i was feeling very tired from a long flight that i wasnt really prepared for,jet lag and the time difference didn’t make it any easier for me coupled with the fact that i had to follow up on everything happening back at home.
My husband enjoys me singing for him. Knowing that i wasnt physically present and i really wanted his birthday to be special, i decided to make a video. Whoever you are @jo.sephine hopefully this solves the puzzle in your head.
Big Brother Naija, BBNaija, housemate, Mercy has pointed out what her fellow housemate, Ike must do before having sex with her.
The BBNaija housemate disclosed that Ike must wait for one year before having her sexually.
Explaining why she won’t allow Ike to have sex with her, Mercy expressed fear that the BBNaija housemate may dump her after the act.
Speaking during a discussion with Ike on Monday evening, Mercy asked if he has ever made a girl feel he liked her, only to move on after the first sex.
Responding, Ike said it’s, “normal level, but most times I don’t lead them on, they chase me.”
He explained that after a first date, they had sex after which he moved on but kept them as friends.
Ike also disclosed that he doesn’t chase women “heavily,” stressing that he just says a few words.
Reacting, Mercy said Ike would have to wait for one year before having sex with her.
She said: “You have always been saying girls chase you a lot and in my head, I’m thinking that if I allow you to have sex with me, you will just fling away. This has been bothering me.
“If you want sex, you have to wait for one year, you are a bad boy, I fear you, you have sweet mouth a lot.”
Gambian actress, Princess Shyngle touched on getting cheated on by her boyfriend and also slammed those blaming her for it in an Instagram post shared earlier today.
Sharing a bikini photo in which she put on display, her “assets”, the Gambian-born actress wondered why those taking the side of her cheating boyfriend never asked why Jay Z, Bill Clinton, Offset, Kevin Hart and many others cheated on their partners.
Princess Shyngle dragged in the family of those blaming her for her boyfriend’s cheating side in her rant.
She wrote,
“They asked why would a man cheat on all this that the problem is me lol. Nigerian Journalist Adeyinka Oluwamayowa has few words for Dj Cuppy. And he penned them in an open letter.

I’m not here to reference your success to the wealth of your father or how you leveraged on it to boost your brand to what it is today. It will be so unfair if I didn’t applaud you from being hardworking enough to make yourself a household name in Africa, especially Nigerian.
DJ Cuppy, you’ve been on a mission that I don’t key into recently and nothing from you will make me buy your tales and descriptions of how you’re not loved by 80% of the Nigerian people or how you need to be freed by your critics and trolls who won’t stop coming after you.
As it stand in the industry, you’re one of the very few female DJs Nigerians look up to and you’re not just amazing at what you do, you’re also bold, confident and above all, selfless – these are qualities anyone would admire in any beautiful lady like you.
However, comments about Nigerians and those trolling you seems to be coming from your emotional place, a very deep one. Remember, all Nigerians cannot like you – just the same way you cannot like everyone. The question is why do you think those who don’t like you don’t?
I’ve taken my time to read through your comments on twitter and Instagram, Cuppy… you know what, you’re loved and appreciated by many, the few people who seem not to love you have two things in common; they don’t like you because they feel you’re not talented ‘in singing’, and secondly, your father is too rich for them to believe, hence they beef what you have for they simply don’t have your father as theirs.
I’ve also had issues with your singing ability in the past, but you’ve proven yourself to be a work in progress and you’ve moved from that lady who struggles while singing to being a commander-in-chief of music – at DJ level. As a matter of fact, you’re better than most of your counterparts in the industry.
Most Nigerian DJs just make a hell of noise in their own music than to drop a meaningful verse, but this isn’t you, Cuppy gives us reasonable lyrics and sings her heart out in her own songs. Unlike many DJs who feature musicians to dominate their songs for them, your own type of feature is different, you collaborate with them and share the verses, and still deliver stunningly, despite being a DJ.
If anyone feels the need to label you talentless, I’m sure they are the ones who don’t understand what it means to be talented. They need to check out your collaboration with Tekno on ‘Green Light’, your duet with Sarkodie on ‘Vybe’, just to mention a few, may be they will have a change of mind, calm their heads and grab ‘Gelato’.
And for those trolling you for your father’s wealth, you have no reason to bother yourself about them. Many people will troll you for being a rich kid, and just for absolutely nothing. Is it your fault your father, Femi Otedola is wealthy? Or are you the reason your father is not their father?
You need to wake up, don’t be too clouded by your emotions because the few negative comments are getting at you (real hard), instead, focus on those who love you and keep doing you. L.O.V.E | P.E.A.C.E | G.E.L.A.T.O.
