A Nigerian Lady has taken to her twitter account to reveal how a friend who was HIV Positive died after he stopped taking his medication due to his new found faith.
The Lady revealed her friend contracted the disease through birth but opted not to use his medications any longer once he’d embraced faith.
Her tweets read ;
I got a text today
“I lost a friend who had HIV this morning. He got it through birth. You know why I’m not happy? He stopped taking his drugs saying he has faith.”
One of my dilemma as a physician and a believer is this. Where do we draw the line btw faith and foolishness?
I mean I’ve been dragged since Sunday for questioning that testimony but there are so many things we as believers do all in the name of faith that is scary.
How many times have you gone to the bank to withdraw 1 million that is not in your account cos of faith?
Ever heard the story of Hezekiah in the Bible? He had a boil that was supposed to kill him, he prayed and God sent his prophet to heal him using fig ointment (ie medication). 2 kings 20
So why are we as believers so adamant about drugs?? Must God perform miracle?
I don’t doubt God’s power, I’m not saying miracles don’t happen, but I’m saying Atleast confirm it’s a miracle first before you drop your drugs.

The presidency has said that the incumbent, President Buhari remains the best hope to grow and develop the Nigerian economy.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, made this declaration in a statement he released yesterday August 7th while reacting to the opposition party, PDP’s claim that the Nigerian Economy is in shambles. In his statement, Shehu said the Nigerian economy needs a change and President Buhari remains the person with the will and determination to deliver the much desired change.
The presidential spokesperson went on to enumerate the growth recorded in the economy since the Buhari administration came into office in May 2015.
According to Shehu, the economy grew by 2.35 per cent in second quarter of 2015 and 3.96 per cent in first quarter of 2015 as compared to 5.94 per cent in fourth quarter of 2014.
He said ;
”While foreign direct investment can help, it is not the only source of investment in the economy. There is also domestic investment which is either undertaken by the government or by the private sector. It is also noteworthy that capital importation into Nigeria grew by 216 per cent in the first quarter of 2019 as compared to the last quarter of 2018. A look at business pages in newspapers shows that there is a lot of business activity going on in the country. Two stories in today’s paper point to increasing economic activity. First is that the profit of UACN grew in the first half of this year by 61 per cent.
”Second is that Business Day (pg1) states that cargo imports jumped by 21 per cent in the first half of 2019. Increasing imports is a pointer to greater economic activity and the availability of foreign exchange with which to conduct business.
”Construction of roads, highways, public transport and airports have sharply increased. Government is spending heavily on power. This, combined with private sector investment has grown generation capacity to 13 megawatts. All said and done, President Buhari remains the best hope for the Nigerian economy. The country needs change and this remains the person with the will and determination to deliver”
The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), has given all South Africans and their companies operating in Nigeria to shut down within seven days and move out of the country, following the overwhelming number of Xenophobic attacks against Nigerians in South Africa.
The umbrella body of students in Nigeria specifically mentioned telecommunications giant, MTN, Multichoice and Shoprite.
The ultimatum, which was issued at a joint press conference addressed by the leadership of NANS and the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), came on the heels of incessant attacks and murder of Nigerians in South Africa.
President of NANS, Comrade Danielson Akpan, who handed down the ultimatum, said these companies linked to South Africa must leave Nigeria “in their own interest” as the students can no longer tolerate the incessant harassment, brutalization and killing of Nigerians in South Africa.
In an address titled: “South Africans Must Go; Nigerians Return Home From South Africa,” Akpan recalled that members of NANS have been on the streets in major cities of Nigeria in the last two weeks picketing South African businesses to draw global attention to the mindless killings of Nigerians and looting of their properties in South Africa.
“Behold, the killings have continued and has even assumed a more dangerous dimension. This worsening development calls for a swift reaction. Importantly, we want to call on Nigerians in South Africa to reconsider their stay in South Africa and return home.
“Having gone through the first phase without any remorse or practical action to end xenophobic attacks in South Africa, we wish to announce that Nigerian students have decided to take on South Africans same way they are doing to our people. We have seen the helplessness of the South African government in reining in their citizens and wish to condemn in unambiguous terms the continued pampering of those involved. Every nation has own internal crisis hence no citizen of other nation should be sacrificed for criminal activities of South Africans or any other.
“Since the economic prosperity of Nigerians can no longer be tolerated and their lives secured in South Africa, there’s no need also to condone the continued flourishing of South African businesses and her citizens in Nigeria.
“We therefore wish to officially ask all South African-owned businesses in Nigeria to relocate in the next seven days. We specifically want Multichoice, MTN, Stanbic IBTC Bank, Shoprite and others to close their businesses in their own interest within seven days.
“In the same vein, we request that South African nationals in Nigeria should return to their home country as we can no longer watch them enjoy peaceful living in Nigeria while our citizens in their country continue to pay with dear lives for no reason other than being resourceful and flourishing in their businesses and career.
South Africans should henceforth leave Nigeria with all their businesses. Nigerians are not joking about it and we are giving seven days ultimatum for this action to be carried out. Diplomacy has failed”.

Reality TV Star, Ifu Ennada has revealed what she felt about men while growing up as she narrated a scenario that played out in her head after she saw a ‘shirtless hot guy’ from her balcony.
The reality show star revealed that she suffered a variety of abuse in the hands of relatives, a former employer, people she trusted and also grew up in an environment where men beat their wives for no reason just to prove a point. All these took a toll on her and left thinking that men were monsters while growing up.
She wrote;
My people I think I legit need redemption. So this just happened – From my balcony I saw a shirtless hot guy and went “oh my goodness, this guy is sweet…” I started thinking of the things that could be, but in that same breath I quickly said “abeg nothing dey there jare, dis one go be like the rest.”
—
—
When I went back inside I reflected on my actions and just marveled at how far I’ve come in blocking men out of my life. Do you know that sometimes I imagine myself having kids through a surrogate just so that I don’t disrupt my life and future with the problems that come with being in a relationship with a man?
—
—
But can anyone really blame me? I grew to watching and hearing countless news of 72 year old men raping 3yrs old girls and getting away with it. Sadly, this is still a norm in my country. I grew up in an environment where men beat their wives for no reason just to prove a point – I still can’t tell what the point is. I have suffered a variety of abuse in the hands of relatives, a former employer and even people I trusted. As a young child everywhere I looked, the society made it seem like only men had the power to make wealth and even the women didn’t help… So how can anyone even blame me for the way that I am? —
—
Growing up I felt men were monsters, it also didn’t help that the government was/is run by mostly men who have eveything but good thoughts for Nigeria, so I was a very f*cked up kid even though I was/am a bright Star. I was a Rebel. —
—
I have been trying to make adjustments but I don’t think my redemption will happen in one day.

Big Brother Naija housemates, Seyi and Tacha developed a friendly bond after their time in the secret room and it seems they are still amicable despite disagreeing on a couple of issues this past week.
The cohabitation of housemates, Seyi, and Tacha in the Secret Room two weeks ago did more than just mere bonding between the two but a back-to-back pairing in the same group for weekly tasks seemed to be more than just coincidence as emotions and feelings coupled with being confined in a space for what maybe 99 days for the two.

With the preparation of this week’s pageantry task, he was seen glued to Tacha’s body as he engaged her in a warm, tight hug, fondling her waistline.

Professor Wole Soyinka, has said that he would not keep silent whenever injustice is done to any powerless or vulnerable Nigerian by the people at the helms of affairs of the country.
In an interview with Premium Times, the Nobel Laurete said he feels himself reduced whenever some horrendous violation is being done to another human being, especially the downtrodden.
He said:
“If I step out of my house and there is some horrendous violation being done to another human being, I feel myself reduced, and for the rest of the day, maybe the rest of the week, I’m not really whole. It preys on my mind. In other words, there are other things that I would rather be doing than going out on a limb to bat.
“If you live in a society like this where you feel, sometimes, that you are completely alienated from the rest of society, where society itself doesn’t seem to share, in the main, same principles, where very often, in fact, you find the very people you’re trying to defend turning on you because they prefer to take the side of power. They feel more comfortable under tyrannical forces because they perhaps feel that, if they just endure such tyrannical forces, they might go away in the end.”
Speaking on the Nigerian youth, Soyinka frowned at the treachery of the so-called young generation saying many of them are only just waiting for their own slice of the national cake, stressing that they admit it, they co-opt others and even ridicule the progressive ones among them.
“The first thing is that I have never given a blanket endorsement of youth. I used to exchange friendly disagreements with Tai Solarin from time to time over this. I remember I took him on once when he said, I can die for the young generation, and I said, don’t say that. Don’t be so sweeping in your statement, some of this young generation is treacherous and many of them are only just waiting for their own slice of the national cake.
“But something has been happening to our youth. It’s probably the technological strides in communication and dissemination of information. Far too many of them, empty-headed, really think that they know. They are what I sometimes refer to as the generation of be–the- first- to- comment. It’s like they are sitting down there, they don’t understand the issue somebody has just posited, either as a blog or whatever you people call it, I don’t know– I don’t live in that virtual realm,” he added.
He said some Nigerian youth lack intelligent curiosity, adding that they want things quick and easy and that they ridicule those who take the trouble to set a standard.
“They strike me as capable of betraying a serious, genuine cause and endangering themselves–-which is okay–-but to endanger the overall movement is unacceptable. They want everything quick and easy, and they want knowledge as pre-digested mush.
“Anything that requires even figuratively chewing over an idea, a moment, an occurrence, they resent it, they ridicule those who take the trouble to set a standard-– it’s too much labour for them to aspire to a higher level. I become sickened, in the main, by this so-called new generation,” he said.
