Men of the task force of Akwa Ibom State Environmental Protection and Waste Management, have apprehended a victim who disposed refuse at prohibited hours along Aka Nnung Udoe road within Uyo metropolis,
According to the agency, this should served as a warning to other citizens and Uyo residents planning to dump refuse at illegal dump points and prohibited hours.
Recall that the Board Chairman, Hon Prince Ikim has issued several warnings against such act.
Road transporters are advised to have waste baskets in their vehicles while Members of the public have been informed to always bag and dump their Waste at Government approved dump points between 6pm and 6am.

Initially, I ignored Naira Marley when I saw his insensitive video on ‘Yahoo boys’, but hey, aside being dumb, the video shows he bought his way into spotlight (although claimed not to be a ‘yahoo boy’) and I am convinced by all stand that he doesn’t deserve to be called a Nigerian musician… This isn’t what we want from those who claim to be representing us.
The use of ‘Naira’ in his stage name coupled with his recent ‘Yahoo’ comment is an abuse to the Nigerian currency and I’ll like to call on the Federal Government to take strong sanctions against him, all brands and prospective brands should dissociate from him as he has proven himself to be a bad image to this country!
While many Nigerians are striving to succeed without walking the illegal path, as a celebrity, he should do better by encouraging them, knowing that these are the people that still consume his music (though we know he’s just using it as a cover up to clean up your illegal money).
We need to stand against these Yahoo boys and flush them out! They brought more shame to Nigeria’s international image, they have polluted our country enough. People with decent jobs and businesses are bullied by the illegally rich fraudsters intimidating them with the stolen items they call luxury. How long will this keep happening? We still have noble Nigerians… plenty of them, but these bad eggs must be secluded to see them, we have to sieve them out.
Speaking of slavery, it is not anyone in this present age’s fault or our grandparents’ faults slavery happened, Marley, go back to history, you’ll realize, slavery was part of the African tradition, not excluding Nigeria, before the colonial government. The best we in this generation can do is not to allow the past witch-hunt us, do more to put Africa, especially Nigeria in good image all over the world.
And Marley, if you feel the British or American stole from your forefathers (whom you know nothing about) and you’re angry, get your proofs and seek legal advises before putting up a fight, not denting the image of Nigeria.

A St. Louis teacher who was awaiting trial on accusations he molested a student was hit with another charge after he allegedly tried to hire an assassin to kill the boy.
Back in 2015, Deonte Taylor, 36, was accused of exposing himself to a 7-year-old student and putting his penis in the student’s mouth when he worked as a teacher’s assistant at Lusher Elementary.
According to NY Daily News, Charges were not filed and he went on to secure other jobs; however, the case was reopened three years later and he was arrested in November 2018.
At the time of his arrest, he was working for the Ferguson-Florissant School District. Following his arrest and the molestation allegations, police said Taylor was still being paid.
As Taylor was awaiting trial on the molestation charges, he and his accomplice, his boyfriend Michael Johnson, allegedly tried to hire a hitman to kill the child and his family.
Taylor now faces both conspiracy to commit murder charges and witness tampering charges, a spokeswoman for the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office said Monday. He was already facing three counts of first-degree sodomy.

The 55-year-old actor married Erika Koike during a night of drinking in Las Vegas after dating for a year. He filed for an annulment just four days later, explaining in court documents that he was too drunk to adequately agree to the big decision.

An extra year student of Obafemi Awolowo University, identified as Kolapo Olowoporoku has committed suicide after he failed some courses.
It was gathered that Kolapo, a Computer Science student of the said school should have graduated in the 2016/2017 academic session but he remained on campus due to some outstanding courses (CVE & CSC 517) he had to pass before graduating.
Kolapo Olowoporoku with Facebook username “Olowoporoku kay-pee Kolapo” was the class rep of his class and ought to have undergone the compulsory NYSC service currently with his course mates who had their convocation last year.
The deceased took his outstanding courses in the last academic session 2017/2018 but it was gathered that he didn’t get up to the required pass mark to bid the said courses farewell.
It was gathered that people who saw him confirmed he looked depressed but no one knew exactly what went wrong with the him.
He was said to have resorted to taking poison on Monday, but the poison didn’t kill him until 3 to 4 days after.
Kolapo Olowoporoku thereafter died on Friday, 19th of April.

A few days ago, Nigerian artiste, Azeez Fashola popularly known as Naira Marley, took to his Instagram page to state that internet fraud aka Yahoo Yahoo, is not a crime.
The singer in his post, wrote;
”If you know about slavery, you go know say Yahoo no be crime”.
However, that statement did not sit well with Rapper and #ENDSARS campaign advocate, Ruggedman, as he joined other Nigerians to condemn the singer for his statement.
In a post shared on his Instagram page, Ruggedman asked the young singer not to mislead his followers.

The father of the 20-year-old Adaobi Ifeanyi, killed by a policeman while returning from a nightclub with her boyfriend, Emmanuel Akomafuwa, Mr. Ifeanyi Ojide, has said he was yet to come to terms with the daughter’s demise.
He said: “I was in great shock on that Saturday morning, when people called to inform me that my daughter had been shot by some policemen. Till this moment, I am yet to recover from the shock.”
Relating his last moment with her, he said: “My last moment with Ada, as she was fondly called, was on Friday evening, a day before she was killed. I left her with her siblings at home before going out. We had only talked briefly about how she was preparing for her exams before I left home. I thought it was a lie when I was informed the next day that she had been killed.
“She was a very calm and obedient girl, never troublesome. She was intelligent and performed very well in her secondary school.
“All I want is justice. The police should not allow this case to die off without justice being done. Cases like this have always been swept under the carpet, but, I know the current Inspector-General of Police is a good man, I know he won’t allow the killers of my daughter go scot-free without facing the law.

Augustine Wallies, a Nigerian student has been murdered by his compatriots after he was accused of ‘stealing’ his roommate’s money in Cyprus.
According to the police, Augustine, a student of the Near East University, was hit on the head till he passed out and his body was dumped in a forest area in Haspolat on Friday, April, 19, 2019.
However, with the help of surveillance cameras, 12 people, including 9 Nigerians, have been arrested in connection with the murder and 3 of them have admitted their roles.
The suspects appeared in court in Lefkosa, today. One of the suspects told the police that the murder took place in the living room of an apartment. He added that the deceased was severely beaten and strangled.

The spiritual leader who called on Christians and non-Christians to love one another and flee violence, corruption, hatred and respect their leaders so that peace and progress can begin to set in, stated that Jesus died on Thursday as against the popular Good Friday that is currently being celebrated all over the world.
Olumba Olumba Obu who disagreed with Christians on death and resurrection of Jesus Christ in his sermon to mark the Easter festivities in Calabar yesterday, said; “I am declaring to the whole world from the highest heaven that He died for three days and three nights, just as He said. The three days are Thursday, Friday and Saturday. These three days should be wonderful days for the whole world, to fast and to mourn and to receive blessing.
“People argue that the Lord Jesus Christ was killed on Friday. This is the argument against that assertion:- If He died on Friday, then He is not the one. What you hear is what He said before it ever happened. That is why we usually preach this gospel at a time like this every year.
“I thank God immensely that the Lord Jesus Christ has openly made the declaration that He will only die for three days and three nights. I have already told you that this week is a wonderful one.
“The feast of the Passover was always celebrated on Friday. All the Jews from all parts of the world had to assemble in Jerusalem for the Passover feast on Friday. Saturday was observed as the Sabbath day, and you know how the Jews regarded the Sabbath day.
“How then would He have been crucified on Friday? That was the day of the great feast of the Passover and so they could not have crucified Him on Friday. A student of Benue State University (BSU) Makurdi, has passed away after marathon sex with girlfriend, according to reports.
The deceased student identified as Jeff, who is a student of Library and Information Science in the institution – was reported to have died after having sex with girlfriend.
It was gathered that Jeff complained of abdominal pain after the sex session with the girlfriend and died later in a hospital.
Many internet users are of the opinion that the deceased may have taken drugs to boost his performance which later led to his death.

Jlissa and Johnathan, who is a five foot six inch-tall able-bodied man, share an apartment together in Houston and are currently planning their dream wedding for the summer.
Jlissa said: ‘Me and Johnathan are very good together. We’re so in tune.
‘I didn’t think it would ever happen to me – meeting someone like this. It feels so good to know that Johnathan is by my side.
‘When people see us walking around together, some of them shake Johnathan’s hand and say “I salute you, you’re doing a good job”. But we don’t experience issues with people judging our relationship too much thankfully.
‘We’re both really looking forward to our wedding, now.’
Johnathan mainly helps Jlissa with eating, getting in and out of cars and reaching things that are too high for her in their apartment.
Johnathan said: ‘Jlissa is a great person and a great friend. She is so lovable.
‘We are a complete team now. We met 13 years ago through mutual friends. We became friends at the start and then just grew to love each other.
She feels settled and comfortable with her daily routine, doing the majority of things herself and with a little help from Johnathan, there’s nothing she feels like she can’t achieve.

The Lagos State Government has commenced immediate repairs of potholes across the State.
Special Adviser, Lagos State Public Works Corporation and Drainage, Engr. Temidayo Erinle, in a statement last Friday, said the State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode had directed that the Corporation should commence immediate rehabilitation of critical roads across the State.
He said the roads mapped out for repair were presently in terrible state, and that the situation was impeding free flow of traffic in those areas with its attendant consequences.
“We have received quite a number of complaints from residents and motorists on the State of the roads and how it was directly affecting travel time which in turn has negative effects on the ease of doing business in the State.
“The Governor has therefore directed the Public Works Corporation to move immediately and commence repair on those roads to ameliorate the traffic that residents have been going through as a result of the State of the roads,” he said.
Some of the roads captured for immediate repair include Ikotun-Egbe, Ijegun Roads, Alimosho and Dopemu Roads, Aka-Kemberi Road, Amuwo Odofin, Marina Beach Road, Apapa, Olaniyi Road in Ifako Ijaiye, Acme-Oba Akran Road and Ikeja.
Other roads also listed include Ijede Road, Sabo market Road in Ikorodu, Costain Road by Brewery, Glover Road, Herbert Macaulay Road in Mainland Local Government, Itire-Ogunlana drive intersection, Itire-Lawanson, Babs Animashaun Road in Surulere, Alakija/WAEC Road, Somolu, Obalende Road, Eti-Osa, among others.
