Under the cover of darkness, a group of individuals arrived in a white Hilux van and overpowered the security personnel stationed at the assembly complex on Moscow Road, Port Harcourt.

In the movie titled ‘Shege Banza,’ the self-styled ‘Drama doll’ shared numerous romantic scenes with Uwa Ezuoke, who played the role of her husband.

Nigerian medical doctor uses his personal experience to highlight the difference in how men speak to women versus men

A Nigerian medical doctor has shared his personal experience to point out the stark difference in the way men address women versus men.

Taking to the microblogging platform X, the man recounted a situation in which he caught himself being rude to a female customer care representative but changed his tone when speaking to a male representative.

He explained that this incident gave him a better understanding of the ‘misogyny’ women often complain about, and he felt ashamed.

He added that even in the hospital, patient’s relatives tend to be rude to female medical officers but are usually polite to male medics.

The X user, with the handle @Okkevwe, further urged people to be more conscious of how they treat women in contrast to their male counterparts.

Popular actor and activist, Yomi Fabiyi, has criticized those attacking the late singer Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, for speaking out about his son’s untimely death.

It’s no news that Mr. Joseph has repeatedly granted interviews where he demanded a DNA test on his grandson, Liam, and claimed that his late son left all his properties to his wife, Wunmi.

During the coroner’s inquest that was held last week, he also said he doesn’t trust Wunmi and claimed that Mohbad told him she used to put sleeping pills in his food to buy time to go and sleep with his colleague in Marlian Music. However, Wunmi is yet to address the allegations.

These series of interviews have garnered significant backlash from netizens who accused Mohbad’s father of only being interested in his son’s properties rather than seeking justice for him, despite the controversial circumstances of his death.

In response to the backlash, Yomi took to his Instagram page to warn those attacking the singer’s father to stop if they don’t want to heap curses upon themselves and their children.

According to him, people should refrain from telling the man how to grieve his son, whom he raised for years before his untimely passing at the age of 27.

Big Brother Naija “All Stars” winner, Ilebaye Odiniya, has asked her colleague, Seyi Awolowo, to apologize to her parents for his comment on her lack of home training.

Popular Nollywood actor, Bolanle Ninalowo has dispelled any misconceptions that may exist about the reasons behind the breakdown of his marriage to Bunmi.

Nigerian actor and presenter, Temisan Emmanuel popularly known as Taymesan, has disclosed that he experienced rejection from his parents, especially his father.

Popular Nollywood actor, Jim Iyke has disclosed the cause of the breakdown of his marriage to American-Lithuanian lawyer Dana Kinduryte.

The couple tied the knot in 2015 after welcoming their son, Harvis but parted ways after a few years.

Jim Iyke said that his inability to emotionally connect with his wife following the death of his mother in 2014 was a major factor in the breakdown of his marriage.

The actor admitted in an open interview with media personality Toke Makinwa that he did not return Kinduryte’s affection; instead, he focused only on becoming a dad.

Iyke went on to say that he had to assume the position of the strong male role model in his family because he was the only boy.

He said,

“I was dealing with two parallels that I could not contain. I just lost my mom, and I was in a place where I didn’t know how to navigate the motions the woman was giving me.

I just needed somebody. She didn’t need me that way. She needed to love me, and I would love her back, and I couldn’t reciprocate. I turned all my attention on our child, and she didn’t know how to deal with it.

I didn’t grieve properly. I was the second head of the family; my father had fallen apart emotionally, and I had only sisters.

I did not allow myself the luxury of grief but it cost me because at the end of the day when everybody survived, I started struggling.

My wife was trying to get me to see a therapist. I was like, ‘are you crazzy? I have never been with one’. She was trying to get a reciprocal for the love she was giving in the union but it did not work.”

A Nigerian businesswoman, Patience Egbor, also known as Petra, has shared the heart-wrenching story of how her husband left her and their two children when she went broke.

In an interview with Business Day Metro, the woman recounted how she met and married her husband in 2018 and became the breadwinner of the family.

The woman, who owns a beauty pageant brand that raked in millions of naira, said things started going south when she bought a car in her name.

According to her, her husband became jealous and began giving her attitude because of the car and how she paid the bills whenever they went out together.

She said she experienced financial hardship in December 2022 and had to sell her car and a plot of land she owned in Benin City.

In the midst of her financial struggles, she said her husband abandoned her and their two children under the guise of going to learn a new skill, which she paid for.

She felt broken when she received a message from her husband, stating that their marriage had been over since 2019.

Due to her financial situation, she couldn’t provide for her children. Whenever she contacted him for money, he would send the meager sums of N2,000 and N5,000, which were barely enough to feed the kids.

She tearfully narrated how she went days without eating because she was saving her money to feed the children. She said she is on the verge of being evicted from her house and needs financial help.

A Nigerian man, Suleiman Isah Isah who hails from Kano state has shared his new citizenship status via his Facebook page.

Isah, who got married to an American citizen, Janine Reimann on December 13, 2020 relocated with her and joined the US Army in May 2023.

Isah who turned 26 years old recently, met his wife Reiman on Instagram ten months before their wedding in 2020 when he was 23 years old while she was 46 years of age.

Naira Marley Summoned by House of Representatives Over Mohbad’s Royalties

Controversial singer Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, has been summoned by the House of Representatives to address the issue of the late singer Mohbad’s musical rights.

The House Committee on Justice, Youth, and Legislative Compliance has also invited Mohbad’s manager, Jiggy Adeoye, to appear before them on October 31.

The decision to summon Naira Marley and Mohbad’s manager came after a motion was moved by Babajimi Benson, the representative for Ikorodu Federal Constituency in Lagos State.

Benson stressed the importance of reviewing existing laws governing the entertainment industry and copyright regulations. He expressed concerns about the contracts and agreements that artists are often compelled to sign.

In a letter dated October 26, signed by the committee’s clerk, Yusuf Ibrahim, the House stated that both Naira Marley and Mohbad’s manager were required to provide guidance for further legislative action.

Mohbad, whose real name was Ilerioluwa Olademeji Aloba, tragically passed away under controversial circumstances on Tuesday, September 12, 2023.

The former Marlian Music signee had departed from the record label in 2022 following internal disputes and allegations of assaults.

The summoning of Naira Marley and Mohbad’s manager has sparked intrigue within the music industry and among fans.

Big Brother Naija All Stars winner Ilebaye Odiniya has revealed in an interview with @WithChude that she has never been in a relationship and she is not ready to be in one.

Recall that during the show, the winner mentioned that she is still a virgin which some viewers did not believe.

Speaking in the interview she confirmed that the statement she made while in the house is true and there was no motive behind it.

Below is a transcription of some the interview;

CHUDE: Have you been in a relationship before, in the past?

ILEBAYE: No

CHUDE: Why not? What’s going on?
Oh! I remember, this is a very private question. But you know I’m an interviewer so I have to ask. The first time you were in the house, one of the things that first came out was that you said you had never…how do I ask this question now? You had never known a man. I’m so embarrassed. Ok, that you’ve never had Sex before. That was something that came out of the house and people were shocked.

First and foremost, why did you share that? Or was it that you were just gisting in the house so you didn’t think about it deeply? Is there a particular significance to that? Is it a religion thing?

ILEBAYE: No, it’s nothing. It’s just we were gisting. There’s nothing really serious about it.

CHUDE: How can you be in this…a Gen Z. Somebody born after 1998, the TikTok generation. What happened? Were your parents strict? What is going on?

ILEBAYE: My dad is strict sha. But I don’t know.

CHUDE: Are you surprised about how that became a topic on its own?

ILEBAYE: I’m just hearing that it even became a topic.

55-year-old Nigerian Man Arrested for Def!ling 11-Year-Old Girl in Gombe State

The Gombe State Police Command has apprehended a 55-year-old man, Bappah Bolari, for allegedly defiling an 11-year-old girl in the Kwami Local Government Area of the state.

The suspect was paraded on Thursday, October 26, 2023, following a formal complaint lodged by Sadiya Wada from Malam Sidi village.

According to ASP Mahid Abubakar, the spokesperson for the police command, Bolari forcefully engaged in sexual intercourse with the minor without her consent.

The incident took place behind a maternity building in Malam Sidi.

The case is currently under investigation, and upon its completion, Bolari will be charged to court.

In a similar occurrence, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) also presented Donal Joseph, an 18-year-old resident of Wili Village in Kaltungo Local Government Area.

Joseph stands accused of defiling the daughter of Danjuma Jauro. Allegedly, he lured the victim to an uncompleted building after escorting her to his house.

There, he undressed the young girl and had sexual intercourse with her.

Both the victim and the suspect were taken to the hospital for medical examinations.

The police are diligently pursuing the investigation to gather evidence and ensure that justice is served in these distressing cases of child abuse.

The community eagerly awaits the legal proceedings and hopes for a swift judgement to bring the perpetrators to justice.

A Twitter user, who is also a legal practitioner with the handle @Egi_nupe_, has shed more light into the legal aspects of the case involving the murder of a female UNIPORT student.

Recall that Damain Okoligwe, a 400-level student of UNIPORT, was arrested for allegedly killing his 20-year-old girlfriend, who is also a student of UNIPORT.

The legal practitioner has now explained that even if he pleads guilty, the court must still record a plea of not guilty, as this is standard practice.

The legal practitioner shared his knowledge after he came across a tweet of a lady who swore to curse any lawyer that would defend the alleged murderer.

In a well detailed tweet, the legal practitioner wrote

“Even if no lawyer represents him, the Judge must insist and ensure that the State provides him with a lawyer. The law doesn’t work with your emotions or biases. I thought this should have been clear to everyone by now? He’s by law still presumed innocent until the proven guilty. Even if he pleads guilty, the Court must record “not guilty” for him. This is the standard practice in a criminal trial where the offence committed is capital offence.”

Though some found the information educative, others were confused and left hoping that justice is served and the killer is brought to book.

Gunmen Invade and R@pe Four Female Students at TASUED Hostels, Ogun State

In a horrifying incident, gunmen suspected to be robbers have reportedly raped four female students at the Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State.

The attack occurred in the early hours of Tuesday at TASUED’s hostels located in the Abapawa area, just off the campus.

Upon receiving the distressing news, the Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Noimot Salako-Oyedele, accompanied by the Commissioner of Police, Alamutu Abiodun, and the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof Abayomi Arigbabu, swiftly rushed to the university to assess the situation.

They later visited the victims, who were subsequently transferred to the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH) in Sagamu for medical attention.

Expressing her dismay, Mrs Salako-Oyedele described the incident as “distressing and brutal.”

In a statement shared on her verified Facebook page, she reiterated the commitment of the Ogun State Government to ensuring the safety and well-being of its citizens, particularly students.

Following the visit to the victims, a meeting was held with the management and students of TASUED, where steps were discussed to enhance security measures and create a safe environment on campus and in the surrounding community.

The Commissioner of Police assured that no stone would be left unturned in apprehending the perpetrators and ensuring that justice is served.

The incident has sparked outrage and deep concern among the public.

Big Brother Naija All Stars winner Ilebaye Odinaya has responded to a fan who referred to her fellow housemate Pere as her dad.

The self-styled ‘Gen Z baddie’ told the fan that she only has one dad, then went on to spell her dad’s name out in full.

Recall that during the show there was a ‘family like’ relationship between Pere, Ilebaye and Alex but the trio fell out even before the show ended.

The spilt happened after biggie replayed a clip of the show to the housemate, were Pere was seen plotting against Ilebaye.

Popular Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, better known as Davido, has taken to social media to decry the alarming rate of ungratefulness in the world.

This comes after his colleague, Dammy Krane, resumed dragging him, and alleging that he owes him royalties for some songs he wrote for him years back. He also shared a breakdown of what Davido allegedly owes him.

In response, Davido had earlier went online to tell Dammy Krane that he is also owing him for the verses he contributed to his song nine years ago.

He also mentioned that Dammy Krane owes him money for housing and feeding when he was living in his house in Atlanta, US.

In a follow-up post, the DMW boss bemoaned the level of ungratefulness in our society and how people tend to forget the good deeds they receive from others. He added that he has learned his lesson.

Damain Okoligwe, the 400-level student of the University of Port Harcourt, has denied murdering his 20-year-old girlfriend, Justina Otuene.

Recall that the Petroleum and Gas Engineering student was arrested on Wednesday, October 25, after the decomposing body of his girlfriend was found in his apartment.

While being paraded before newsmen on Thursday, he alleged that he is innocent of the allegation and doesn’t know what killed the deceased.

He stated that he found her lifeless in the morning after she had spent the night at his house. He further explained that he didn’t raise an alarm or report the incident to the police out of fear of being wrongfully blamed for her murder.

Speaking further, he claimed that the corpse was still intact in the bag, contrary to the widely circulated claim of dismemberment.

However, it’s important to note that blood was dripping from the bag when he was apprehended, casting doubt on his story.

The police, speaking on the case, said operatives of Ozuoba Division received a complaint from a neighbor that a foul stench was emanating from their compound on Road 20, back of NTA Ozuoba.

In response to the complaint, they visited the house, where they discovered the decomposing body of the deceased, and immediately took the suspect into custody.

A man has gone viral on the microblogging platform X after showing off his remarkable transformation following a hair transplant surgery in Turkey.

The man opted for this cosmetic procedure due to premature balding, which caused his hairline to recede early.

He revealed that baldness runs in his family, as his father and brother also experience the same condition.

Due to this, he invested $6,000 in a hair transplant surgery in Turkey, a procedure that involves moving healthy hairs on the scalp to areas with thinning hair.

He explained that hospitals in the US were charging double that amount but he was able to get the procedure done cheaper in Turkey.

The X user, with the handle @LasTrain2London, posted photos of his head before the procedure, immediately after the procedure, and a recent photo.

Mother ties the knot with her adopted son who is 31 years younger

A 53-year-old woman has taken her country by surprise after marrying her adopted son, who is 31 years younger than she is.

The musician, Aisylu Chizhevskaya Mingalim, tied the knot with her 22-year-old adopted son, Daniel Chizhevsky, at a restaurant in Kazan, Tatarstan Republic, Russia, on October 20th.

It was gathered that she adopted Daniel after meeting him at an orphanage home, where she was providing singing lessons when he was only 13, and started raising him at 14.

Their marriage didn’t sit well with the child welfare officials in her country, and they seized her five other adopted children, four girls, and one boy.

Meanwhile, Mingalim is fighting the move and lamented that some of her adopted children have been placed back into care homes, while others have returned to family members.

Speaking to local media, Mingalim, who has one biological son from her previous marriage, said her romance with Daniel started after she adopted him from the orphanage home.

Mingalim said: ‘Our relationship is perfect. We can’t live without each other. We are on the same wavelength.’

She is reportedly planning to flee Tartarstan to Moscow with her new husband where they can live freely, and regain custody of her adopted children from the authorities.
