A video making rounds online shows the dramatic moment a father broke into tears after his daughter “returned his surname” at her traditional wedding ceremony.

In the viral video, the host, often referred to as “Alaga” in the Western part of Nigeria, instructed the bride to present an item to her parents during the wedding ceremony.

Following this, she explained to the parents that what their daughter handed over symbolized her father’s surname, as she would no longer bear his name and now adopt her husband’s surname after the wedding.

This revelation broke the father’s heart and he let out an audible sob and started crying in the presence of everyone at the event, including the groom’s family.

A Nigerian lady has offered advice to devoted guys on why it could be hard for them to cheat on the women they are dating or married to.

In a widely shared video, she said that any man who is unable to cheat on his girlfriend is probably under the influence of juju, or spells.

According to the social media slay queen, a normal man should cheat and have a history of doing so, and if they are aware that they are not doing so, they are in captivity.

“If you find yourself not cheating on your partner as a man, you find yourself not cheating on your wife, you find yourself not cheating on your girlfriend, knowsay you dey on juju. A normal man should cheat and have a cheating record,” she said.

It was quite an emotional moment between Cross and Pere in the Big Brother Naija All Stars show when the former openly expressed his decision to end his friendship with the latter.

Last night, Cross had a private conversation with Pere where he revealed his intention to cut ties with him over trust issues, based on what he heard from their fellow housemate, Ceec.

The 32-year-old influencer explained that Ceec told him that Pere is not loyal to him and would not defend his name in his absence. He noted that he doesn’t trust Pere anymore and feels it’s best for them to cut ties.

He also cited Pere’s reaction when Ike scattered Ilebaye’s clothes in the bathroom in a bid to provoke her, and how he said her things should remain on the floor. According to him, he can’t cope with his behavior.

In his defense, Pere advised Cross not to believe everything he hears from people because they are not true. The 38-year-old actor also noted that he has been loyal to him from day one, however, Cross maintained his stance to end their friendship.

A popular Owerri makeup artist has turned to social media for help after she reportedly caught her fiancé in bed with a man.

According to her friend, Iwuala Nnamdi Paulcy, who shared her story on Facebook, she was in pain when she broke the news to him.

She had walked in on the man naked in bed with another man, but he was more concerned about her audacity to barge into their house without knocking than the situation she caught him in.

He wrote;

She made this disclosure during her appearance on Cool FM Nigeria’s program, The Big Friday Show, hosted by former BBNaija star, Tacha.

According to the Guinness World Record Holder, she initially planned to participate in the reality show to gain recognition before doing her cooking marathon, but unfortunately, she wasn’t chosen.

Nigerian entertainment journalist Joey Akan, has reacted to Spyro’s comments on Shallipopi’s song, Elon Musk Boys.

Spyro had revealed in an interview with the Honest Bunch podcast that the lyrics to the song were a means to internalize fraud, as the devil worked best with suggestions.

Reacting to this statement, Joey Akan took to the microblogging platform and slammed Spyro for being a hypocrite who promoted Jesus yet dined at the altar of mammon.

According to him, Spyro’s biggest song was with a Wordly-adjacent artist, Tiwa Savage, as opposed to singing with another gospel artist like himself.

He added that the singer had no problem performing at wordly conventions or being signed to a wordly record label but would constantly berate his colleagues for their professional output.

He wrote;

“This boy, Spyro, received his biggest ever song by working with worldly-adjacent artists. He chose Tiwa Savage for a collaboration over his faith-based colleagues.

Fast-rising Nigerian singer, Oludipe Oluwasanmi David, better known as Spyro, has accused his colleague, Shallipopi of putting out lyrics that make people internalize fraud.

Recall that a while back, Spyro revealed his stance on secular music in the industry and stated that he would not be partaking in what he described as ‘dirty lyrics’ in his songs and vowed to influence the music industry for God.

Speaking in an interview on the Honest Bunch podcast, the “Who’s Your Guy” crooner revealed that while people think the devil will come with horns in this generation, he is already coming through suggestions.

According to him, the song by Shallipopi was a subtle suggestion that could lure people into fraud if they kept listening and singing it.

In his words;

“You become what you see and say, so if you’re saying ‘para dey body’ before you know it, that’s where fraud starts from. Priscilla Ojo, the daughter of popular Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo, has denied the allegations that she was dating her male closest friend, Enioluwa Adeoluwa.

NYSC reportedly decamps Oyo corp member over viral tweet condemning the hostel (video)

The leadership of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) have reportedly decamped a corp member serving in Oyo State for condemning the hostel at Iseyin orientation camp.

The corp member, who is only known by his Twitter handle @anthonystilldey, had taken to the microblogging platform to express his displeasure with the state of the hostel.

He likened it to Kirikiri maximum prison, stating that the prison facility is better than Oyo state orientation camp.

He also decried having to spend three weeks in camp, and called for the compulsory one-year national service to be scrapped.

Sharing a video of the hostel, the tweep wrote,

So I’ll be here for three weeks.

This comes days after he shared a kiss with his fellow housemate, Mercy Eke, in a discreet location within the house where CCTV couldn’t capture.

The intimate moment was brought to light during the Sunday live eviction show when the host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, questioned Mercy about the kiss.

However, she acted oblivious to the incident and denied kissing Kiddwaya. The billionaire son, on his part, chose to respond honestly to Ebuka.

Big Brother Naija All Stars housemate, TolaniBaj has revealed why she is constantly fighting with her fellow female housemates over her co-star, Neo Akpofure.

She shared her reason for being overprotective with Neo on Sunday night, August 20, after he confronted her for fighting with Ceec after she spotted them talking.

Recall that TolaniBaj clashed with the 30-year-old lawyer and accused her of always interrupting other people’s conversations, and lacking proper social etiquette.

She also body-shamed Ceec by calling her a “stupid dwarf” and making other unpleasant remarks about her weight.

A Ghanaian lady identified as Maame Sika has been presented with a three-bedroom mansion by her father in honor of her recent Aeronautical Engineering graduation.

A touching video that was created to document the emotional presentation of the property quickly became viral on social media.

The budding YouTube star, Maame Sika delighted her viewers by giving a charming tour of her newly acquired home.

Her father gave her the house, which is in Ghana, as a present since he thought it was an appropriate reward for her excellent academic performance and dedication to her studies.

The proud father welcomed his daughter into the compound in the heartwarming footage, where he could be seen beaming with joy.

The highlight of the video was when he gave Maame Sika the house keys, symbolizing her hard work and ambitions coming true.

The delighted parent stated in an open discussion with his daughter that the house was a symbol of his gratitude for Maame Sika’s commitment to her education and her persistent pursuit of greatness.

He said how much joy her academic success had caused him and how he wanted to return the favor by giving her this exceptional graduation present.

“Sǝx was designed for married people only” – Rapper Cynthia Morgan

Nigerian rapper, Cynthia Morgan has stated that she strongly agrees with the Bible’s teaching that sexual activity should exclusively happen within the confines of marriage.

According to her, among all the teachings in the Bible, the one that she agrees with the most is that sex should only be between married couples.

Taking to her Instastory, the rapper acknowledged that people may stray from the ideal due to various reasons, including lack of awareness or other factions.

She, however, stated that she firmly believes that sex was originally intended for married couples.

Her post reads,

“If there’s one thing I agree the most with in the Bible it will be that sex should only be for married people.
I know… We all sin and fall short of his glory either out of ignorance or even i2no… but sincerely sex is /was designed for married people. Thank you”

A while back, Cynthia Morgan berated US-based Nigerian professor, Uju Anya, over her recent post on Twitter.
Uju, who is quite controversial because of her sexuality and opinions, had taken to the microblogging platform to share photos of herself tying a wrapper around her chest and smoking a cigarette on the balcony of her home.

She captioned the post, “Minister of Enjoyment”.

This didn’t sit well with Cynthia Morgan and she expressed her disagreement with Uju for equating smoking cigarettes with enjoyment.

“Smoking cigarettes is not part of enjoyment,” she replied.

Kindness is not enough reason to marry a man – Lady says as she dishes advice to singles

A divorced Nigerian woman has opined that a man being kind is not enough reason to marry him.

She stated this opinion while replying to a lady on the microblogging platform, X, who asked married people to share advice with those looking at getting married.

According to the lady identified as Rene, kindness was not enough of a reason to marry a man if he did not possess other core qualities.

She wrote;

“I’m divorced so it’s up to you if you listen or not.
1. Whatever you accept while dating will get worse once you get married.
2. If he’s mean to his family, you’re in for a ride
3. KINDNESS IS NOT ENOUGH. I know the bar is low but if a man being kind is enough to sway you then you’re in trouble. Does he have the core qualities you value in a man, i don’t mean a perfect man but a man who ticks most of the CORE qualities.
4. If you’re desperate to get married you’ll do anything and take anything to stay married.
5. Compromise is key, don’t expect a perfect man, work with a man who’s willing to listen and grow with you.
There’s more but I’ll stop here.”

When asked to expatiate on why kindness is not enough for a woman to marry a man, she wrote;

“The reason why kindness isn’t enough is this…
1. A kind person might not share the same values and principles as you
2. A kind person may not love life the way you do.
3. A kind person may not fuck you the way you wanna be fucked
4. A kind person may be racist, a bigot , homophobic etc

Big Brother Naija All Stars housemate, Adekunle appears to be head over heels in love with his romantic interest, Venita Akpofure, as he has declared himself “married”.

It’s no secret that Adekunle and Venita have been glued to each other since the show began, and have also been sharing a bed.

The couple has never concealed their feelings for each other and proudly displays the fact that they are an item on the show.

During a casual chat with his fellow housemate Cross this morning, Adekunle, who is eight years younger than Venita, stated that he is a married man.

Though he did not specifically mention being married to Venita, it is evident that he was referring to his relationship to the mother of two.

“No No No I’m a married man”, the 28-year-old housemate who donned a grey suit said.

In other news, Venita and her cousin, Neo Akpofure, have finally settled their longstanding issue in the house.

There has been tension between the cousins since the show began, primarily revolving around Venita’s relationship with her romantic interest, Adekunle, whom she has been showing more commitment and loyalty to, amongst other issues.

This has caused a huge friction between them, leading to multiple heated exchanges. However, the duo have finally decided to bury the hatchet and resolve their lingering beef.

Last night, they had an emotional conversation where they addressed their issue, and Venita was heard telling Neo that he needs to do better.

Popular Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, better known as Davido, took a break during his Sunday Afronation concert in Detroit, Michigan, to pay respect to his colleague, Wizkid’s late mother, Mrs. Jane Dolapo Balogun.

On August 18, 2023, Wizkid lost his mother to the icy grip of death.

Fans and colleagues of the award-winning artist have paid tribute to his late mom at their performances, while others have posted condolence messages on their social media pages.

Davido expressed his condolences to WizKid and mentioned that he was familiar with loss because he had lost his mother, Mrs. Veronica Adekunle.

According to him, Wizkid had the chance to honor his mother with his musical accomplishments before she passed away.

He said;

“Personally, I have lost so many people in my life. And I want to send condolences to my brother, Ayo Balogun Wizkid. To his mother, may her soul rest in peace.

I lost my mother myself years ago. But I know whatever he [Wizkid] has done, he has made his mother proud.”

Popular Nigerian singer, Paul Okoye of PSquare music group, and his ex-wife, Anita Okoye, appear to still have a good relationship despite their contentious divorce.

The couple, whose divorce was finalized in December 2022, took their kids to the singer’s rehearsal for his performance at the Afronation concert in Detroit, US.

Paul took to his Instagram page to share a video of the moment he went to pick up Anita and their kids from their home, and drove them to the concert venue.

According to the singer, he chose to bring his children along to his rehearsal so that they can witness what he does for a living.

In the video, Paul was seen teaching his children his dance routine for the concert, which they found a bit challenging to grasp. However, Anita didn’t partake in any of the activities during the rehearsal.

He captioned the video, “Took the kids out for sound check in Detroit, to experience what papa does for a living”.

The video has caused a buzz on social media, with many fans of the couple hoping for their reconciliation.

It’s worth noting that the 41-year-old musician has since moved on from their failed marriage and is now dating a TikTok influencer, Ivy Ifeoma.

Nollywood actor, Chinedu Ikedezie has reminisced about the first time he met Osita Iheme (Aki), his best friend, and how they connected right away.

The actor, who is now 41, spoke about the incident in an interview with popular media personality, Chude Jideonwo.

Chinedu Ikedieze recalled their first encounter, saying it took place in Aba, where he used to live with his uncle.

The tailor there at the time would inform him that the clothing he had brought had been finished every time he went to the market.

He was frequently perplexed by this since he was confident that he never packed clothing. The confusion persisted, and some of his classmates at the time informed him that they had seen someone who resembled him identically.

He said that’s how their conversation continued until he eventually got to see Osita for himself.

Chinedu claims that when he first met Osita, they bonded right away. It was a type of immediate chemistry, according to him.

He emphasized their on-set performances and how they covered for one another when they forgot to say their script lines.

The diminutive actor said that it was always so simple for them to be so spontaneous that it would just take a person reading the genuine script to recognize that what they had done or said wasn’t in the movie script whenever they were on set and one person forgot a script line.

Nigerian billionaire businessman and socialite, Cubana Chief Priest has taken to social media to celebrate as his son, Donald, becomes Nigeria’s youngest CEO.

The 6-year-old has opened his own fast-food shop under his mother’s supervision.

Cubana shared the good news on his Instagram page along with a video of the launch, beaming with pride for his kid. The young champion’s parents were spotted jointly cutting the ribbon announcing the restaurant’s grand opening at the recently opened restaurant.

He wrote;

In other news, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has revealed why they choose rapper Naira Marley for their war against drug abuse campaign.

In an exclusive interview with Saturday Beats, the agency’s spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, explained that they chose Naira Marley because of his influence as the leader of the “Marlian movement.”

He said,

“It is an advocacy engagement with him. It is what we do as part of the responsibilities of the agency to promote advocacy messages that would discourage people from substance abuse. It is about the message.
