A UK Imam, Mohammed Haji Saddique, has been convicted and jailed for 13 years after he sexually harassed four young girls in a mosque.
As reported the 81-year-old Cardiff cleric would often call girls to sit close to him and attempts caressing them with his touch while they make quranic recitations.
According to court reports, he also had metal and wooden sticks he uses in picking students that appease his sight during lessons.
Saddique was teaching at Madina Mosque in Cardiff for more than 30 years and was convicted of 14 offences which includes six indecent assaults and eight sexual assaults, all of which took place between 1996 and 2006.
Judge Stephen Hopkins sent Saddique for 13 years and ordered him to register as a sex offender.
“All four complainants were very brave indeed in overcoming not only personal but cultural barriers which they faced in making formal complaints and giving evidence against you,” the judge said.
“There is a darker, deviant side to you which this trial has exposed. This was a gross breach of trust – parents sending their young, female children to be taught the Holy Quran by you.”
The sentenced Saddique however refuted that the allegations against him were a conspiracy by other members of the mosque although the presiding discredited because former had “no idea” of the harm his actions had caused.
Saddique, born in Hong Kong, moved to Pakistan before he finally settled in Cardiff in 1967.
“You would attempt to maintain discipline and concentration by tapping or slapping the child sitting next to you who didn’t read correctly,” the judge said.
“Every time one of these small children made a mistake you would slap them until they got it right and slap them for every mistake they made.”
However, Saddqiue’s lawyer, Caroline Rees, described him as a “frail and unwell” great-grandfather whose community and family hold him in high esteem. “This is a man of 81 whose life expectancy is not good given his health and age,” she added.

In a recent interview with New Telegraph, Veteran Nollywood actor, Saint Obi, pleaded with Nigerians not to be too quick in judging celebrities whose marriages have crashed.
The actor, in a who made the statement while reacting to the cases which result to crashed marriages among celebrities, said Nigerians should not be too quick to judge their crashed marriages because they won’t understand the dynamics that operate in their homes.
He said:
“Firstly, I must say that violence is not good. But sometimes, when it comes to issues about crashed marriages and stuffs like that, what I always say is that ‘don’t be too quick to judge’, because until you get married, I know you are, you won’t understand the dynamics that operate in homes.
‘What works for Mr ‘A’ or Miss ‘A’ may not work for Mr ‘B’ and Miss ‘B’. So, things lead to things; but my advice is that rather than become violent, maybe you walk away or maybe give each other some space.’
‘Sometimes some artistes push the other to the extreme, I say sometimes, not always. So, it is just the ability for one to understand when he is being pushed overboard, and control that urge to go overboard because some people can be terrible, and some people can be nice.’
‘So, I will never advise anybody to be violent no matter the situation; but some people push people to the extreme’

Popular Billionaire kidnap kingpin, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, aka Evans’ lawyer, Olukoya Ogungbeje, has been slammed N20,000 “punitive cost” for professional misconduct.
Evans’ fundamental rights case was billed to be heard by the Judge, but his lawyer wrote, claiming to be ill.
Ogungbeje apologised for his absence and asked for adjournment.
According to The Nation, Mr Emmanuel Eze, who represented Lagos State Commissioner of Police, opposed Ogungbeje’s application for adjournment.
He said the applicant’s lawyer did not inform the police that he would be absent, adding that any other lawyer from Ogungbeje’s office could have come to represent Evans.
He said:
it is an “affront” to the court for Ogungbeje not to send another lawyer to stand in for him.
“In view of this, we are of the view that the applicant’s counsel is most unserious with this application. We, therefore, ask for a punitive cost of N100,000 against the applicant and his counsel,”
Awarding the N20,000 cost, Justice Abdulazeez Anka of the Federal High Court, Lagos, said the cost must be paid before July 20.
He said:
“Counsel wrote a letter seeking for an adjournment without copying the prosecution. This, to me, is unprofessional. The court hereby warns counsel to desist from such type of practice.”
The judge said the facts before him showed that the applicant was still in police custody.

According to Femi Fani-Kayode, Tony Blair arrived Kaduna to convey British approval of the plan. Here’s what he wrote;
“Whilst the werewolf sleeps in London, Tony Blair arrives in Kaduna where the vampires gather to share Nigeria’s flesh and drink her blood.
When Buhari is declared dead the plan is for Osinbajo to appoint Nasir El Rufai as his VP.
Tony Blair has come to Kaduna to convey British approval of that plan.
El Rufai is slotted to take over from Osinbajo in 2019 but God will shock them.
When will the British leave us alone? When will they stop manipulating us and interfering in our affairs?
The blood of the Christians and Shiite Muslims of S. Kaduna speaks against Nasir El Rufai and the Buhari admin..
They are finished and all their plans will fail.
The Lord shocked Buhari. He will shock this lot too.
Their power is broken and their time is over.”
The man was there to repair a door lock, which got the better of him, Corpus Christi police spokesman Lt. Chris Hooper told The Washington Post. The contractor, whose name and company were not released, had left behind his phone and a device needed to open the door from the inside.

Normally, In those type of situations, help is just a text or phone call away however the repairman left his phone in his truck.

The repairman wrote the note including his boss’ phone number but Police revealed that some customers thought the notes were a joke, but one decided to give them a call.
He wrote:
“Please help. I’m stuck in here, and I don’t have my phone. Please call my boss,”

Yesterday,BBN 2017 TTT’s wife clapped back at a troll who blasted the reality star after he wished his wife a happy birthday with loving words. The troll told him to sit down with his praise of his wife after he had disrespected her by frolicking with Bisola on Big Brother Naija reality show.

“Remember I told you all marriages are not the same? The issues one partner in a marriage can tolerate, another will find it totally unacceptable. I also told you of the Auntie that advised her niece to move out of her matrimonial home when a lady got pregnant for him, just to teach her husband a lesson. She listened & moved out. 1 wk. 3 wks, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year. Na so marriage scatter. The marriage, that was not up to 2 years packed up. Then some years after, she attended the Auntie’s husband’s 70th, & at picture sessions she noticed a small boy join the nuclear family. Who’s child is that? She asked. Answer was given to her in whispers. Auntie’s husband had fathered a child out of wedlock. AUNTIE didnt leave. Angered, She confronted Auntie & it fractured the family. Another strong feminist on Facebook, in 2005 or 6, can’t remember now, called a lady who said she was pregnant for a marriage man and didn’t know what to do, all kinds of names plus home breaker. Only to see her pregnant & it was for a Senator friend of mine. And I happened to know that the Senator was married. Come and see explanations. “It’s not like that. I found out after it happened. They were separated. He wanted to divorce her. It was nothing serious. We are in love. I am ashamed of myself, blah blah blah”. Trust me. I wrote about her hypocrisy. If you haven’t reached the bridge don’t cross it. Don’t count your chicks before they are hatched. Don’t swallow panadol for another person’s headache. Let the person wearing the shoe tell you where it pinches. That is why some people will continue to hold grudges against a partner in a relationship and the partners have made up and moved on. Is it your marriage?! Over sabi! If anything like that happens to me, & my wife decides to do anything, she is my wife. That’s ok. Why will you now carry it on your head even on her birthday? Mscheeeew. Oya, go and seek to dissolve the marriage na. As e dey pain you so! Wait ooo! How do you feel when people quarrel and you take sides. Then see them together after all your bad mouth? Mine is get upset. But move on. Just move on. Especially if the parties involved moved on.

FALZ…I KNOW YOU’RE THE BAHD GUY, BUT DON’T JOIN THE BAD WAGON.
Celebrity BabyMama…the most lucrative Nigerian Business.
The “Baby Mama”, “Baby daddy” syndrome is almost eating up the fabrics of our society and infusing its poisonous venom almost in every facet especially the entertainment industry. It is fast becoming the most lucrative business in Nigeria for ladies to give birth out of wedlock so long as the biological father is a celebrity or Super star.
You both secretly went into the room, did what you did with legs spread, that wasn’t enough. You went ahead to give us evidence of what you ate in the secret, behind the watchful eyes of your friends and fans.
I guess the door was secured with lock and keys as well probably under dim green or red bulbs. Being a celebrity Baby Mama is fast becoming a means to acquire fame, and other benefits that comes with it if the “Baby daddy” in question is well known and very talented especially in the music world or the entertainment industry.
Ladies struggle, husfor and pass through burning furnace just to have a child for these men out of wedlock. Most of them know upfront that it can never ever lead to marriage, and some are so certain of the number of Baby Mamas’ the celebrity have already on the pipeline yet they still swing their head into the game.
When did having a child out of wedlock become so cool? When did it become a fast growing business? We even allow our media to celebrate these unmarried women that their body was used as a vector (a carrier) to bring forth a child. Will parenting go smooth under such atmosphere??? Anyway, Davido, Wizkid, and their likes should if possible, continue to spread their seeds like wild oats but my concern is Falz.
Yes….I’m really concerned about him because bad wagons are so infectious like virus. He is the character I loved most in Funke Akindele’s Jennifa’s Diary. He looks like everything called responsible and I admire his passion and dexterity. The wit with which he choose passion over profession won my heart.
Falz, don’t follow the wrong trend. Guard your heart and keep being focus on your dreams. Keep making plans, paving ways and breaking new grounds.
You have continued to stand out in terms of your creativity and ingenuity, and have carved a niche for yourself in the Nigerian entertainment industry. Davido, Wizkid, Flavour should not be your example. Don’t do the inordinate….That’s if you don’t have a secret Baby Mama already.
Each and every one of us have the right to live our lives the way we want but let’s shine positive light. Every super star have a galaxy of fans ( engrave that at heart). Falz, I know you’re the bahd guy but don’t join the bad wagon. Humbly ask Banky W how he stooped to conquer his “KONJI” battles till his Adesua appeared.
A commercial driver in Amoshe town, Meiran, Lagos State, has been detained by the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Yaba, for allegedly killing his wife.

It was said that the victim, Stella, together with three of her friends – Fatima, Kafaya – and a man, Wasiu, had gone to have fun in a nearby bar.
She was said to have returned home inebriated, which angered her husband.
Benjamin, 34 reportedly beat her to a pulp and when it appeared tha she was dying, he rushed her to a church for prayer. She was later taken to a hospital in the neighbourhood, where she was confirmed dead.
A resident, Mr. Samson Adedeji, stated that Benjamin usually assaulted his wife whenever she was drunk.
Adedeji said,
“The wife came back home on Saturday, July 1, drunk. Her husband was angry, but people begged him to allow her sleep. He didn’t heed to their plea. He beat her up seriously. It was the following day that I was told the wife died in a hospital.”
Another resident in the area, Mrs. Aribisola Amoshe, said although she did not know what transpired between the couple, there were marks of violence on the deceased.
The Elderly woman said,
“I learnt about the incident through a neighbour. Before her body was deposited in a mortuary, I saw it. There were injuries on her body.”
However, Benjamin reportedly told the police that Stella was poisoned at a beer parlour.
He said,
“I think she was poisoned because she vomited. She went to drink with her friends. I didn’t beat her.”
But one of the deceased’s friends, Fatimoh, who was also arrested by the police, refuted Benjamin’s claim.
“The four of us were together that day. We took a bottle of beer each. My friend died from the injuries inflicted on her by her husband. She didn’t fight with anybody at the bar,”
In a statement released on Thursday, the federal government announced that it has approved the regularisation of “the dichotomy between holders of university degrees and higher national diploma” in the civil defence, fire, immigration, and prison services.
The statement said that the minister of interior Abdulrahman Dambazau gave the approval. It read in parts:
The civil defence, fire, immigration and prisons board (CDFIPB), at the end of its meeting held on Tuesday, 11th July 2017, under the chairmanship of the honourable minister of interior, Lt.-Gen. (Rtd) Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau, approved the regularisation of the dichotomy between holders of university degrees and higher national diploma (HND) in all the services.
To this end, the board directed that all officers with HND to be upgraded to Compass 08, which is the salary grade level for holders of degree certificates at entry point. While the nomenclature for the HND holders will start with the rank of senior inspector, the degree holders are with the rank of assistant superintendent II.
Before now, degree holders are one level higher at entry point than their counterparts with HND.
We brought you reports about a guy who revealed that he and his crew almost beat up Davido, but the DMW Boss escaped through the back door..
But then, Davido’s crew members were not lucky enough, as they sustained a black eye.
Now Chris has revealed what led to the clash. He said;
Davido apparently ordered his boys to attack me. But he should have fed them before sending them to fight. Niggas were too high on weed to fight anyway. What happened was self defense.
U fight evil with bigger evil, u dont run from it. And for those of you sending me death threats am more than happy to meet u now lets get it on.
I wonder why people would want to waste their time on a fight know nothing about. #SayNoToBully #Defend yourself at all times. #theonlyWay to earn respect. #
The Federal Government through the Ministry of Water Resources has sympathized with all Nigerians affected by the recent flood in Lagos and Niger state, blaming the flooding as a result of the delay in rainfall which caused the long duration of the torrential downpour.
The Minister of Water Resources, Suleiman Adamu, delivered the government’s sympathy at a news conference on Wednesday in Abuja.
While revealing the cause of the heavy downpour, the minister also told journalists that about 30 states and over 100 local government areas, which had been categorized as high flood risk areas, could expect heavy flooding this year.
He said: “Summary of the alert is that approximately thirty (30) states and over one hundred (100) LGAs are categorised as high flood risk areas and therefore could expect flooding.
“The rains did not start early this year, thereby possibly causing long duration torrential downpour and causing unexpected urban/flash floods in areas with the non-existing or inadequate drainage system in the country.
“The flow of surface water is being monitored by NIHSA while alerts will continue to be issued. Also, sensitisation of the entire nation by visiting the grassroots will soon be embarked upon.
“Urban/flash floods (i.e overflow due to sustained rainfall) in the urban cities or semi-urban areas can be reduced with effective and adequate drainage systems. People must not use this facility as refuse bins which will block and render the facility useless with the probability of flooding heightened when it rains.
“People in the riverine areas must not erect residential structures on the flood plains as these areas are an extension of the river space. Unfortunately, people have refused to yield to advice.”
“It is therefore suggested that state and local governments should do more to enforce environmental laws/town planning guidelines, so as to check such uncontrolled physical development activities,” he added
The minister’s statement comes on the day Acting President Yemi Osinbajo approved the immediate release of N1.6 billion to 16 states already affected by the flood.
Hushpuppi, not less than five times, has continued to prove he’s the richest IG Baller since his fight with Phyno. Recall we reported when the Malaysia- based Nigerian rich boy shamed the musician for allegedly wearing fake Patek wristwatches.
Well, that fall out has not changed his flashy lifestyle. To start with, he exhibited his $300, 000 Petek Philipe Diamond Watch which he described as “too much sauce“:
Secondly, he was at Louis Vuitton Dubai Fragrance Store, praising one of his favourite brands- Louis Vuitton.
Third, the philanthropist showed off his jet lifestyle. I agree, getting enough money to be able to afford a bottle of champagne on a private jet is a ‘Monday Morning Motivation’, if I ever needed one.
Fourth, he shows where he’s rocking All Things Guccci (and Channel), showing appreciation to his fans who support him through the good and troubling times, and even his haters who are the reason he never stops getting money:
Again, the controversial Malaysian-base Nigerian, while posing in a designer store on Thursday (today), dished out a piece of advise on ‘Making it Big’ in life.
“If you want to have money in life, don’t laugh to jokes about rich people made by people who don’t have money; you will all end up a joke,” Hushpuppi advised.
The Big Brother Naija show ended on the 9th of April, which saw everyone’s favourite, Efe win the show, with Bisola Aiyeola clinching the 1st runner up, TBoss, the second runner up, Debie-Rise the 3rd runner-up and Marvis, the 4th Runner Up.
It’s still unclear if the show will be back on air next year, but we should be expecting a statement from the organizers and sponsors of the 2017 show.
