“I cheated death yet again” — Man attacked by armed robbers on his way to Abuja narrates

Man attacked

A man identified as Okeme Arome Romey has narrated how he escaped death yet again, after he was confronted by armed robbers on his way to Abuja from Kaduna state.

Read His story below:

I CHEATED DEATH…YET AGAIN.

On the seventeenth of May in the year of our Lord two thousand and seventeen, at about 6.20pm, I cheated death…yet again.

I had just spoken with Arc. Felix and hung up with a wry smile that didn’t go just too soon. It’s being a while I saw the young man. I was headed to Abuja from Kaduna in a public car, there was a gentleman who sat next to my left engrossed in his phone and I peeped and he let me in on what he was watching. I smiled because I had seen the funny video before.

I focused on the journey proper as we drove some 20-30min after taking off, I realized we were at a village called Rijanna and I let my fibers and muscles relax as we had some 1-2hrs more of driving to do. Just as I made to relax, I caught a glimpse of a car parked in the distance by the side of the road with some rough looking men, about 5, wearing military camouflage tops and other trousers wielding guns, I recognized a locally made pistol and some bigger AK47 rifles.

They were obviously the Highwaymen. This mental calculations took only a few seconds to register and I whispered aloud, Robbers! They were robbing the occupants of the vehicle as I saw them all seated on the ground distraught. We had unfortunately ran into them, one of them started beckoning at us to come closer, we were some 50-100meters away, so i asked the driver to reverse the car and try to escape. He obliged.

As the car screeched to retreat, one of the robbers launched after us, he pointed his gun at the vehicle and squeezed the trigger, there were rain of bullets digging their way through the thick body of the car with ease, wheel screen shattered and glasses splintered hither and thither.

I was under the illusion that we had escaped when out of the blues three other colleagues of theirs emerged from the bush behind us in a commando style with AK 47s and opened fire on the car, I was sitting just directly where the car was taking fire. The driver opened his door and jumped out, the passenger at the extreme left of me behind the driver opened his door also and we began pouring out.

Once outside, we made for the trough on the side of the road in an attempt to escape to the other carriage of the road leading cars from Abuja to Kaduna. The robbers didn’t give up just yet, they ran after us and kept shooting, bullets bounced off the ground close to my feet and flew past my side, I missed a step and fell, picked myself up and commenced running again. It was obvious my mind ran faster than my legs.

I kept the motivation going by saying to me, ” breathe easy and run for it, you haven’t been hit”. To the glory of God alone, I made it to the other side of the road and kept running while flagging cars down. I was finally lucky to get one which stopped, whisked me away to some 2-3 km from the site of the action where I met the police preparing to respond.

They had obviously heard the shots and noticed the long queue building up on the highway. As I was running I could see from the corner of my eyes how cars were trying hard to turn around, some left their cars in the middle of the road and jumped out, passengers were pouring out through windows and skedaddling, people were falling off as others took cover in the bushes. It was a chaotic sight.

I joined the police van as they drove towards the Drama. When they got there, the robbers had gone. They had escaped.

Was I infuriated? No I wasn’t. I politely asked the police why this was a frequent occurrence on this road and one was bold to tell me, under condition of anonymity, that since the airport activities were transferred back to abuja, the security apparatuses deployed to the road within the period when the national airport was closed like frequent patrols, heavy presence of police and other security operatives, hovering choppers and escort services, were reduced and cut short significantly.

He also said they usually had no fuel in their trucks and that they only fuel they normally allowed in the car was that needed to drive the car to its stationary spot to give the impression that security was present on the road, but in the real sense, they were handicapped because there was no fuel in the truck.

He said they didn’t patrol any more, they only relied on alarm raised by people to rally to areas of robbery operations. As if to give credence to his position and assertions, they car jerked, hiccuped, and came to a halt. I nodded my head. He said, “fuel don finish”. We were in the middle of nowhere exposed to the perils that came with the night.

We contributed some monies and one of them luckily got a car that stopped and he went to the next village to get fuel.

Today I breathed air freely, heard the morning birds chirp, saw the dawn of a new day, chatted with friends and called loved ones only because I made it out inexplicably and divinely by the grace of God on the 17th of May 2017, snatched away from the jaws of the snare of death by Jesus christ himself. If a bullet had hit me and pierced through my skin and into my lungs or heart in the middle of no where, it would have been a different story altogether.

I am grateful for yet another opportunity at life, I wish to tread and wend through her with gratitude seeking only what is right within my capacity devoid of malice.

The next day at about 7.30am, the police called to inform me of yet another attack on that same spot only this time along the road leading from abuja to kaduna, with two of the victims not so lucky to have come out alive like we did. They had their brains splattered on the road and blood painting the ground. They were shot dead.

The Abuja-Kaduna express road has increased in its notoriety in cutting short lives of individuals, especially along RIJANNA axis, a fearsome area terrorized by the Highwaymen. They are usually out to Rob, Kill and Kidnap. Between Monday to Wednesday, they had kidnapped 5 people, one, an NNPC staff that was later released after he had paid a ransom.

Narrating his ordeal when we met at the hospital, he said he was kidnapped around RIJANNA, taken somewhere where his daily meal was mangos. He claimed two other abductees had no money to pay for ransom and they were instantly shot dead in his presence. He didn’t know when he started shouting that he was rich and had plenty of money to give them, in the end he paid the ransom and he was released.

Please if it’s not important, do not use that road once it is 3pm. Do not start your journey too early as well. In the end, “whoever dwells in the shelter of the most high shall abide in the shadow of the almighty”, Psalm 91.1.
My story is that of God in his awesomeness.

Thank you.

Meet man bullied his whole life because people think he is cursed by evil spirit

A man with a rare skin condition, which makes his face look like he has been burned in a fire, has been relentlessly bullied his entire life by people who think he is cursed.

Some people even believe Antonio Reloj, who was born with a severe form of ichthyosis which causes his skin to harden, crack and appear burned, is not actually human.

The 26-year-old’s mother abandoned him when he was 12, leaving his grandmother to raise him in remote Aklan province, in the Philippines.

Antonio’s condition worsened as his skin became thicker and harder, and his eyesight started to deteriorate as it spread across his face.

He used to enjoy visiting the local market and church but now spends his days hidden in a wooden home after residents started to believe he was an evil spirit and not actually human.

Antonio now has some hope of being treated after Good Samaritans took him to capital city Manila to help him find treatment.

Antonio, who dreams of becoming an electrician, said he spends his days listening to the radio and tinkering with the electronics.

He said: “When I was a child I was happy to go outside. People say that I am a ghost. I stay at home now.”

Toke Makinwa reveals how she lost a N20 million deal

toke makinwa

Nigerian media personality, Toke Makinwa has revealed via Instagram on how the news of her marriage crisis made her lose a N20 million deal.

She wrote:

When God is involved, it can never be for less. In my life I have seen him come thru so many times I’ll be selfish if I keep it to myself. I remember when we started the OnBecoming tour, we approached a number of companies for sponsorship and one particular incident left me sooo broken. We had been talking back and forth and all was looking exciting till the news of the legal suit hit the press.

I remember I was in Ghana and the night before OnBecominginGhana was amazing. I woke up in such high spirit till the news filtered the air and then I got that call, our “potential” had pulled out. I read that text over and over again in tears, they pulled out because they didn’t want to be thrown in the middle of it all (who can blame them) boy was I hurt, I was broken.

I had put so much into this project and prayed so hard yet here I was disappointed, I felt I wasn’t good enough, I couldn’t pray and then it hit me, this has happened before, I remember when the news of my marriage hit the press I was in the middle of signing a 20million Naira deal, all was good to go till news broke and it seemed like what everyone was talking about. They pulled out. It was bad timing.I remember how I held the toilet bowl all night,

I have never felt that kind of pain in my life. I have worked hard, prayed hard and God knows I needed that money. My life had changed overnight, I was trying to hold on to everything and it seemed like everything was working against me but God came thru, he provided much more than that deal and I have never had to look back to think “if only” I had that money, he kept blessing me. In both cases God over compensated me? SA is looking really good ?, I can’t wait to share who our sponsor for the OnBecominginSA is, they are not just flying me to SA, my entire team is coming to and everything is paid for in full.

Why do I share this you may ask? Perhaps you woke up this morning feeling defeated, you are about to stop trying, you’re so sure your idea sucks and no one will support you, hold on.

You are closer than you know,. God has bigger and better plans for you, he knows you’ve cried all night, he knows what this means to you, he will come thru even better ❤️

Fuji Singer Obesere explains why he built a multi-million naira mansion for his wife

Fuji Singer Obesere

Obesere has just completed a multi-million naira mansion for his wife in his hometown, Akobo in Ibadan, Oyo State. The new home is a storey building with chalets, all sitting on about two plots. Not only that, it also has a sizeable swimming pool and a spacious car park.

Fuji Singer Obesere

“Obesere has just completed a befitting house in his home town, Ibadan, Oyo State. I learnt that’s going to be his country home. The edifice is in Akobo and it’s more than four flats with some chalets. It looks like the one he built in Okota, Lagos where he resides presently.

“The new structure, I learnt is worth millions of naira and it’s the finest in that vicinity. I also learnt it will be opened very soon. Although, some are saying he built the house for his wife, Alhaja Tolanikawo Akande (Nee Adelakun), it’s still a country home for Obesere going by its architectural design. It’s a master piece”.

In a chat with Encomium, Obesere confirmed that the house was not his own, rather it is for his wife.

He said,

“It’s true but the house doesn’t belong to me, that’s for my wife.

I am not the type that should be making noise about such things. But I thank God for everything. I told God since more than 10 years I had built a house for my mother that I will do something similar for my wife as well because she really deserves it.

Now, God has answered my prayer. She’s a wife that stands by me at all time. So, if I have done more than that, she deserves it. And in few months, it will be opened officially.”

“How a pastor I trusted defrauded me of N918 million” — Atiku’s wife, Titi

Atiku's wife

Titi Atiku, wife of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, on Tuesday told an Ikeja High Court that she trusted a business partner who allegedly defrauded her of N918 million because of his status as a pastor.

“I thought that the first defendant, being a pastor, he will not defraud me.

“I thought that he was being genuine with me during our business dealings,” Mrs Abubakar said while being cross examined in the ongoing fraud trial against a pastor, Nsikakabasi Akpan-Jacobs, Abdulmalik Ibrahim and Dana Motors Ltd.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had slammed the accused with a 15- count charge bordering on conspiracy, stealing and fraudulent conversion of property worth N918 million belonging to THA Shipping Maritime Services Ltd.

Amos Ibe, the defence counsel to Mr. Akpan-Jacobs, while cross examining Mrs Abubakar, questioned why she used different monikers in company documents relating to the fraud.

“Before I start cross examining you Ma, should I refer to you as Your Excellency?

“Why was the name Florence Doregos used in the petition from the EFCC which is exhibit one, as well as other fake names in documents you used to transact business with the first defendant?,” Mr. Ibe queried.

Replying, Titi said: “I am Her Excellency forever, it was under my instruction and direction that the petition was written.

“My name is Florence Doregos, my name is Titi Amina Atiku Abubakar, the Mrs in the petition is a mistake made by my Lawyer.

“Florence is my name and it was easy for me to use Doregos while I was in state service.

“The name of my biological father is Dorego Albert, we are from Ilesha but I have cousins who are from the Republic of Benin.

“I can choose Doregos, I can choose Albert as my surname, they are all my names, even Dino Melaye, his name is Daniel but he calls himself Dino.

“I can twist my name anyhow I want.”

Responding to Mr. Ibe’s questions about her identity when she married the former Vice-President, she said “I married my husband at the Ikoyi Registry in 1971.

“I was a Christian before I married my husband, Angelina is my baptismal name, Florence is my confirmation name.

“When I got married to my husband, I converted to Islam and I have been called Amina Titilayo, Titilayo was what I was called at home,” she said.

Mr. Ibe, however, still questioning Mrs Atiku’s real identity, told her that a book written in honour of her husband titled ‘Atiku: The Story of Atiku Abubakar,’ claimed that she was from a Local Government Area in Adamawa.

“I am from my husband’s Local Government Area by virtue of marriage.

“Whether I’m from the moon o, that’s not the matter on ground,” she said.

Mr. Ibe sought to tender the book written in honour of the former Vice-President to the court but it was rejected by Justice Oluwatoyin Ipaye.

“The document does not fall under the definition of a public document under the Evidence Act, it is a private document, it is therefore rejected,” Justice Ipaye said.

NAN reports that THA Shipping Maritime Services Ltd, a company created in 2000 belonged to Mrs Atiku, Akpan-Jacobs and Fred Holmes.

She was allegedly to be the majority shareholder with 49 per cent shares, while Holmes and Akpan-Jacobs each had 25 per cent shares.

Mr. Akpan-Jacobs, who also doubled as the company’s Managing Director and Secretary, was accused to have gone to the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and altered the share holding in his favour and forging the company’s board resolution.

He allegedly under the new share arrangement allotted 70 per cent shares to himself and 15 per cent shares each to Titi and Holmes.

According to the EFCC, welding a fraudulent shareholding power, Mr. Akpan-Jacobs sold a property belonging to the company to Dana Motors Nigeria Ltd for N918 million.

The property is located at Plot C63 A, Amuwo-Odofin Commercial Layout along Oshodi-Apapa Expressway, Lagos.
During Tuesday’s proceedings, the defence disputed Mrs Abubakar’s claims that she invested over N1.2billion in the business transactions with the defendants.

“Your petition stated that you invested over N200 million and in another document it stated that you invested over N1.2billion, which fact is correct?

“Do you have accounting reports, did you hire an auditor to look at the accounts, how did you arrive at N1.2billion?

“N200 million is the money I spent in building the bonded terminal, by the time it was ready, it was worth N1.2billion.

“Akpan-Jacobs never gave me any records, I was in the state service, I did not get any auditor, Akpan-Jacobs has the evidence of the money I spent, I didn’t know that our business transactions will become a court case,” she said.

Mrs Abubakar, while in the witness box, accused Mr. Akpan-Jacobs of using her company property as a collateral for a bank loan that he sought when he wanted to run for the Akwa-Ibom governorship election.

“He used my bonded terminal as a collateral for a loan when he wanted to run for governorship of Akwa-Ibom, when he couldn’t refund the money the bank wanted to acquire the bonded terminal, he sold it to Dana Motors Ltd,

“I was the largest shareholder of THA Shipping Company with 49% of shares, my German partner Fred Holmes had 26% and Akpan-Jacobs has 25%.

“Akpan-Jacobs never contributed a dime to the company, I couldn’t be involved in all the documentation because I was in service.

“He did the registration and promotion of the company, he brought all the papers to me at the villa to sign, he later fraudulently changed the shareholding powers of my shipping company to favour himself.

“He gave me 15 percent, Holmes 15 percent and he took 70 percent shareholding power for himself.

“I never entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with him to sell the company, that is why I’m in court, when he couldn’t repay the loan, he sold the company to Dana Motors Ltd.

“When the fraud happened, we initially agreed to settle out of court, but instead of settling, he went to sell the cranes and the company, giving the EFCC N16 million which I received, “ she said.

Mr. Akpan-Jacobs’ lawyer asked the court to cancel the next court date slated for May 24 for continuation of the trial on the grounds of his Ill health.

“My Lord, I ask for the previously adjourned date of May 24 to be vacated because I am currently battling ill health,” Mr. Ibe said.

Babatunde Sonoiki, the EFCC counsel however, opposed Mr. Ibe’s request.

“There have been four adjournments at the cost of the plaintiff, she flies in at great risk to her safety from Abuja for every court date and she is supposed to be helping to take care of a newborn of one of her children.

“We have another witness who has travelled on four occasions for 15 hours by road from Yola and the case keeps being adjourned, I will like to request for a cost of N750,000 from the defendants to cover the financial expenses of the plaintiff,” he said.

Justice Ipaye granted a cost of N100,000 against Mr. Akpan-Jacobs and adjourned the case until July 5 and 6 for continuation of trial.

18-year-old virgin girl wants to sell her virginity for N35 million (Photos)

girl sell virginity

According to Daily mail UK, An 18-year-old girl has just auctioned her virginity via an agency named, Cinderella Escorts, a company that boasts about having doctors that can verify virginity in girls.

The lady identified as Kim, who is also half German and half Austrian, has decided to sell her virginity to buy a car, a flat and fund her education.

According to local media, the Bidding starts at £86,640 (100,000 Euro/N35million), of which 20 percent will go to the agency.

She contacted the agency saying:

‘Hello, my name is Kim and I would like to sell my virginity.’

The Agency website claims her virginity is proven with a doctor’s certificate and a potential buyer can also do their own tests to ‘inspect’ the girl.

On their website, Kim said:

‘I would like to study in Germany or Vienna. With the money I can buy a flat, pay my tuition fees and afford a car.’

She was inspired by Aleexandra Khefren, a 18-year-old Romanian model who sold her virginity for £2million (2.3 million Euro) to an unnamed businessman from Hong Kong.

News about Khefren and the virgin escort agency went viral across the world and also came to the attention of Kim.

Kim said:

‘So is it really worth more than 2.3 million euro to give my virginity to a man who might eventually leave me anyway? To be honest, I do not believe it.’

Kim says she is willing to meet with the highest bidder anywhere in the world as long as all travels are paid for.

She also added that she is not afraid of any stranger that bids as the agency has said she can ‘break off’ the meeting at any time.

“How would you rate President Buhari’s two years in office?” Nigerians speaks.

President Buhari's two years in office

Expectations were high when President Muhammadu Buhari came on board and we had hoped that he would hit the ground running. However, it took about six months before he appointed members of his cabinet. The reasons adduced are known to everybody as they bordered on the rot and decadence in the system. But now, almost two years after, not much has been achieved. Be that as it may, we can see a lot of positives coming up.

Take the health sector for example. Things have been just the way they used to be. The National Health Bill which was passed by the National Assembly has yet to become operational and that is a big hindrance to a big leap in the health sector.

That in itself would have helped a lot of universal coverage concerning the National Health Insurance Scheme which is presently at about five or six per cent. Implementing the law would have ensured coverage of not less than 75 per cent or 80 per cent of Nigerians. It would have provided universal health coverage for rural dwellers in such a way that they would not need to come to urban centres to access health care.

In terms of health budgeting, the World Health Organisation has a standard of not less than 20 per cent of the nation’s budget to the health sector. We were hovering between four and six per cent during the last administration. Unfortunately, we just managed to hit around five per cent again this year after it dropped to four per cent last year.

The tenure of a lot of medical directors has expired. Some of them are heading up to two years and there has not been appointment in up to 15 or more federal tertiary institutions where the tenures of the previous chief executives had expired.

There is nothing to cheer about in the health sector except maybe the appreciable improvement in the timing of interventions during outbreaks of infectious diseases. We all know about the meningitis outbreak which is ravaging some parts of the country. We also know about Ebola resurgence, though not in Nigeria, we, however, know that the whole world is a global village. And that it can spread to any part of the world. A response in terms of outbreak to diseases has been fair, but it can be a lot better.

• Dr Kunle Olawepo, (Chairman, Nigerian Medical Association, Kwara State branch)

It has been a mixed bag of blessings and setbacks. Blessings, in the sense that we have witnessed a formidable attack on corruption which has been a major problem in Nigeria’s politics. There have been setbacks in the sense that there have been many challenges confronting the anti-corruption crusade.

For instance, there has been a cat and rat relationship between the executive and legislative organs, and this has impacted negatively on the anti-corruption initiative.

Also, because Nigeria has been enmeshed in economic crises, people have not been able to really see the merit of the Buhari administration because they have been assessing it from the economic dimension. People believe that because of this, he has not done anything. But he has actually tried despite his health challenges. In the area of fighting terrorism, he has done very well. I know what the security situation was when he came and what it is now.

For employment creation, there has not been much progress. But maybe that is due to the current economic crunch. Although there is an ongoing agitation for salary increment by civil servants, I know that it is not going to work because the money is not just there.

In the education sector, the level of education has remained abysmal for close to two decades and this administration has also not made progress in that area. But you cannot hold him responsible for that because in the last 10 to 20 years, the education sector has been awful. If you see the instructional facilities we use, you will marvel; they are very bad.

The fiscal allocation for education is too small, in addition to the fact that corruption is also a problem in the sector. The development crisis in Nigeria is very huge.

So, what I will advise is that Buhari should identify two areas. He can fight corruption to a definitive end and address the issue of worsening power situation. If he can tackle those two, then he will be okay.

• Dr Iro Aghedo (Lecturer, University of Benin)

I think President Muhammadu Buhari has tried his best even though the masses have not really felt the essence of what he has been doing. Coming from where we had been before his assumption of office as President, it took a long time to get the country into the present situation.

So, you don’t expect magic within the two years of his reign for the economy of the country, corruption and security to be resolved. I’m pretty sure that we are now on the right track as the case maybe.

The president has his own style of leadership; those of us in the industry have come to realise that the man actually has a good heart and he really wants to help the country attain greatness.

The whole issue is a process; we have to be patient with him.

I will rate him highly in the area of security by securing the release of many Chibok girls. He has also empowered the Vice President. Even though the President is ill, the Vice President is doing his best to put to work most of the President’s ideas. To me, the President has really tried his best within the last two years.

• Bayo Adeloye (Marine Engineer/consultant)

Buhari came to power on principally two issues: security and anti-corruption. His ratings based on these two are commendable. The North East is better secured, bombings which were rife in Abuja is tamed. Remember the police headquarters, the United Nation’s building, motor parks and churches have been attacked by Boko Haram.

The bombing of churches used to be every Sunday. It is much better now. Granted that there is now the added pressure of herdsmen killings; the belief is that hopefully this will also be addressed.

Corruption undoubtedly, is being addressed and public officials are more careful. The EFCC is much more vibrant.

There have been complaints of selective targets. The point for me is, are the so-called targets innocent? There is talk of media trials or so. I don’t see how EFCC publicising its work or cases amounts to media trial.

It is in order and tells us citizens of efforts made. On other fronts, Buhari can do better and so far below par. Areas like power supply and communication are getting worse. On the whole I score Buhari 60 per cent. Remember it is just two years.

• Rommy Mom (Human rights activist & President, Lawyers Alert)

To be candid, the administration has fared badly. Even in opposition, I try my best to be charitable to this government; I have been constructive in my criticism. Yes, the government has made some progress in the area of anti-corruption and in agriculture. But beyond this, there is nothing else you can honestly give serious credit to this government.

Without looking outside what the President and his party promised Nigerians before they were elected in 2015, let’s look at what they promised: instead of creating jobs for unemployed youths, jobs have been lost; companies are folding up. Yes they have decimated Boko Haram in the North-East, what about the kidnappings, daylight robberies and other violent crimes across Nigeria?

This is largely responsible for the growing suicide rates. Can you say because they have dealt with Boko Haram, our security is now better? The snail pace of this government has forced many things to remain at a standstill. We are still waiting for board members to be appointed for health and other bodies two years after. Is this what we voted for?

Sudden Deaths: Here are 4 ways sex can kill you.

According to several studies conducted by leading doctors, medical and experts deaths during consensual sex account for approximately 0.6% of all sudden deaths.

Here are a few ways this can happen.

1. Cardiac Arrest

A study conducted by a leading American medical journal has revealed that each additional hour of sexual activity per week resulted in an increased risk of 2-3 myocardial infarctions (heart attacks) and one sudden cardiac death per 10,000 person.

2. Haemorrhage
Experts say that indulging in sexual intercourse can trigger a subarachnoid haemorrhage i.e. is bleeding into the subarachnoid space—the area between the arachnoid membrane and the pia mater surrounding the brain via the Valsalva maneuver.

The Valsalva maneuver is performed by moderately forceful attempted exhalation against a closed airway, usually done by closing one’s mouth, pinching one’s nose shut while pressing out as if blowing up a balloon.

3. Infidelity
A study also found that the “deceased is usually married; he is not with a spouse and in unfamiliar surroundings,” and death usually occurs after “a big meal with alcohol.” So, men who were unfaithful were significantly more likely than those who were faithful to experience severe or fatal cardiac events during sex. A related study seemed to support the death during extramarital sex theory. Fourteen of the 20 cases of coital death, happened during an affair. “Dying in the saddle” is another popular euphemism for death during sex.

4. Sex Drugs
Viagra use has been linked to sudden cardiovascular death during sexual activity among elderly or otherwise infirm men. Researchers also say that prescription or recreational drugs, such as cocaine can also possibly contribute to unexpected deaths during consensual sex.

Photos: Lagos CEO ‘Mr Stainless’ who duped his ex-girlfriends, others arrested

Mr Stainless

A report making rounds online claims that a 34 year old man, Olaogun Tunde has been arrested after several successful attempts of duping his victims.

Read Below the report as shared by NationalHelm.

According to his buddies, he is Mr. Stainless, The CEO, but, Olaogun Tunde, is a complete fraud. Everything about him is fraud. Olaogun, 34, a microbiologist, a dismissed civil servant, was two weeks ago arrested by the officials of Rapid Response Squad. The officers acted on phone report to RRS Control Room of a fraud by one Mr Kelvin Oyenuga over the supply of 25 units of HP laptop to the Lagos State Ministry of Works, Alausa, through Olaogun Tunde.

Olaogun, through connections was linked up with Oyenuga for the supply of 25 laptops amounting to N4, 625,000:00. In making a N2.5m payment before delivery, Olaogun initiated a fake online transfer from a Keystone Bank to Oyenuga’s GTB account. He immediately showed a fake debit alert on his phone to Oyenuga. On delivery, the same day, he issued another dud cheque of N2.125m.

For more than two months, Olaogun employed one trick or the other to buy time for himself while he offered to a Lagos Island computer dealer, the 25 laptops he bought from Oyenuga at N150,000:00 each, a N35,000:00 short of the initial buying price.

To settle the case Oyenuga, Olaogun had requested RRS officers follow him to Lagos Island to retrieve the 25 laptops from the buyer. According to him, “I had an understanding with him. We retrieve the laptops. Once my LPO is ready, I would pay off the buyer”.

By the second day of investigation into the case, three fresh cases of fraud initiated by Olaogun Tunde had surfaced. The complaints were microfinance banks, who the suspect had used a Fake Bank Statements to secure loans amounting to N3.7m.

Coincidentally, a day later, two ex-girlfriends of Olaogun were at RRS’s headquarters. They alleged that the suspect took N750,000:00 in October, 2016 and N500,000:00 in April 2017 from them to help them get a Toyota Matrix and a Nigerian used car. And, as typical of him, Olaogun had regaled them with endless stories – no car, no money.

His latest girlfriend whose red Toyota Corolla he borrowed for his fraudulent transactions, Dunni Anifowoshe, 29, disclosed that the suspect was dismissed from the Lagos State Ministry of Environment, Alausa, in 2015.

Olaogun, while explaining the circumstance said he used the name of his Ministry to facilitate the procurement of vehicles at Affordable Cars without the knowledge of the State Government. When he couldn’t pay for the cars, it became a crisis that cost him his job.

Before Olaogun Tunde case was transferred to the State CID, Panti, Yaba, two other microfinance banks had filed in fresh petition of N1.5 million and N4 million respectively against him.

Actress Funke Adesiyan slams celebrities who didn’t help with the burial arrangements of late Moji Olaiya

Actress Funke Adesiyan slams celebrities

Actress, Funke Adesiyan is not happy with some Nigerian Celebrities who didn’t lend a helping hand towards the arrangements of Moji Olaiya’s Burial in Nigeria.

Read Below what she wrote on Her Instagram Page;

“Life is funny. People are really not worth the trouble. The essence of being part of an association, group et al is so you can be there for one another in matters related to you all.

Its really a shame that many artistes came on social media, flooded Moji Olaiya’s house shedding tears and when it boils down to extending a helping hand, many chickened out. Artistes were billed 100k each to bring Moji’s body down. If 50 of us contributes 100k, we have 5million which is about $15k (medical rate) Many didn’t contribute a penny.

All they know how to do is flaunt wealth that they dont have on social media. The house you live in is being paid for by others, the car you drive na dash, the supposed business you own, you are not making a dime from. My sister/brother, quit living large and forming rich on other people largesse. Forming oga madam on top nothing! You only have right to flaunt your own sweat. If not, siddon Jeje and make less noise please! We don’t need to turn to beggers to help one another. We all could be one another’s helper. If you are Moji’s friend/colleague and you didn’t contribute a dime towards helping to move her down, you should take her picture down!

Thank you to the very few artistes, socialites, friends who contributed to save the day. May God bless you all.”

“Buhari will win again if he contests for president” — Garba Shehu says

Garba Shehu says

Garba Shehu, the Snior Special Assistant to President Buhari on Tuesday has said that President Buhari will win the Presidential Election if he contests again.

Speaking to state house correspondents during a press briefing in Abuja to mark the 2nd year anniversary of this government, Garba said President Buhari has done well and that no one can judge this administration based on the two years it has spent in office. He said:

“You cannot write the report card of this administration in two years. The mandate is four years and it is too early in the day. You don’t reach definite term in the mid-term. We will have a lot more to fulfill. If anybody tells you APC has failed, tell them it’s too early in the day, we still have two years, it’s a four year term”.

Also lending his voice, Special Adviser to President Buhari on media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, said:

“People can always express their opinions, there is liberty on that but you don’t have a scientific survey that has given you the percentage of people that believed that the APC has failed. The second point is that, when a government via a party is voted into office, it is voted for a four year term under our own democratic arrangement.

When you have spent two years which is like a midterm, the first half of a game, you don’t then determined that it has succeeded or it has failed. No. You can be accused of being atomistic using a small part to determine the whole. You can’t write the report card of this administration when it is just hitting the half way mark, that will not be fair. This administration will take Nigeria far beyond how it met it. So if anybody says APC has failed just tell them is too early in the day because is a four year-term and this is just two years. You don’t reach definitive conclusions in two years.”

Reacting to rumors of a coup attempt and the statement released by the Chief of Army Staff warning soldiers to steer clear from politics, Adesina said:

“What the Chief of Army Staff said was a routine warning that goes to military officers, don’t hobnob with politicians and the army has explained the position. Let’s take that position and not stretch it beyond what the military has said because they are the ones that can give us the definitive position and they have spoken on it.’’

James Ibori awarded N400 (£1) in damages over unlawful detention in London

James Ibori awarded N400

Former Delta state governor, James Ibori, has been a whooping sum of £1 (N400) by a High court over his claims he was unlawfully detained by Home Secretary Amber Rudd.

Ruling on Monday, Justice Cheema-Grubb admitted that he was unlawfully held for one day, 18 hours and 10 minutes between December 20 and 21 last year but ruled that James Ibori, who had claimed £4,000 in damages for breaches of his human rights, is only entitled to a nominal £1 of the sum.

According to her, she said the Home Secretary “failed to have regard to her limits to detain” as attempts were made to claw back millions from the fraudster.

Rejecting Ibori’s bid for thousands in compensation, the judge ruled: ‘There is no compensatory loss to Mr. Ibori and I fix nominal damages at £1.’

Ibori who pleaded guilty to 10 serious criminal charges over the appropriation of massive amounts of public funds during his two terms as governor of Delta State was jailed for 13 years in 2012.

He was released from prison in December 2016 after a court order. He served 4 years out of the 13 years he was sentenced to.

Beautiful Nigerian Lady returns N860,000 mistakenly transferred to her account

In this recession the country is in, it is quite difficult to see someone who’d return quite a large amount back that was mistakenly sent to into their account.

Below is a story of a young lady who returned N860,000 that was mistakenly transferred to her account. She’s been identified as Zinny Adajiugo Ife Nkili. Zinny was minding her business when she claimed she received a SMS Bank Alert of N860,000.. The caller called her, and she refunded the money.

See what she wrote below:

So yesterday someone mistakenly send 860k to my account.. When I saw that I know it was wrong transfer..so I waited for d owner to call, some minutes later he called and was shivering…I told him to relax that his money is in good hand?.. he send an account number so I transferred 500k bcos that’s my daily limit and it cannot be exceeded, so this morning I send him d remaining balance..

Only very few people can actually be honest enough to acknowledge an error in transfer and do the needful by sending the money back to the sender.

But with d things I read online everyday majority of Nigerians are opportunists and do not fall into the category of honest people… How can some people go to bed to sleep knowing d kind of thing they did to their fellow human being..

This kind of insensitive na wao, nobody is above mistake, mistake hv no master and no one is perfect…don’t make them pay for their carelessness. I hv a lot of problems I could hv solve with this money but I’m not a thief… I remembered when growing up, U return what does not belong to u else d canning no go get part 2 from my mum….and agin i don’t want to mess up my glorious future.. So in this present economy, pls check and re-check before sending or transferring money. People are desperate now couple with the hardship…
