And she said it was ‘the best day of her life‘.
The extraordinary ceremony, which was held on the Day of the Dead celebration in South America on Wednesday, November 2, took place at a funeral home in Camocim, a seaside resort in north east Brazil.
While her friends and family were against the idea, they dressed in black and visited throughout the day in a show of support. The owner of the Eternal Garden Funeral home, Paulo Araujo, donated the coffin and the space free to Vera, as a gesture of good will.

The married housewife, who doesn’t have children, explained ‘celebrating’ her own funeral was an ‘old dream’ that she never thought would come true. But she was determined to do it before she passed away.
Nigerian business tycoon, Folorunsho Alakija, has said going to the university was not her destiny as she was able to achieve her dreams without a degree.
Alakija, one of the richest black women in the world, said this on Thursday at the Excellence in Leadership program, an annual event organised by Daystar Christian Centre, Ikeja, Lagos.
The founder of Rose of Sharon motivated the audience by saying that she never allowed a lack of university education to suppress her dreams and ambition.
“If I had the opportunity of going to the university, maybe I would have come out with a second class upper or lower but that didn’t happen; that wasn’t to be my destiny,” she said.
I would have loved to go to the university as we all know that university education is good but some of us who have not gone, it is not the end of the world.”
Alakija said she was able to attain her present position because she was determined and ready to pay the price that came with all the challenges she’s had to surmount.
“Having put my foot in the door, I decided I was not going to turn back”, she noted, revealing that when she had to file a lawsuit against the federal government for taking 50 out of her 60 percent equity, she remained determined.
The case which took 12 years to reach a conclusion was a matter of determination, she said. Alakija said she her person has been subjected to series of misconceptions due to the ignorance of people who don’t know her story.
The oil magnate noted that she is a product of hard work, sweat, tears, and tenacity, stressing that she’s not an overnight success.
“A lot of things have been said about me, some say I sold my way to the top; I remember that the headline of one of the national dailies in the country once said ‘Hairdresser given an oil block’. So I even became a hairdresser, one of the many names I was given.”
She encouraged participants at the conference to believe in themselves as it would be easier for others to believe in such people; she added that she believed in herself while moving from fashion designing to an unfamiliar terrain.
A witness, named Mr. Richard Ihediwa, in the ongoing trial of former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Olisah Metuh, said on Thursday that the N400m Metuh got was disbursed as directed by ex-President Goodluck Jonathan.
Ihediwa, led in evidence by the counsel to Metuh, Mr. Emeka Etiaba (SAN), told the Abuja High Court that Jonathan gave the directive on how the amount was to be spent, NAN reports.
He said that N21m was paid to former PDP Chairman, Chief Tony Anenih, for a property acquired for use by the party as its media intervention centre.
He added that although the property, located in Asokoro area of Abuja, did not belong to Anenih, he assisted the PDP media team headed by the accused in securing it.
He said:
“The amount covered the cost of hiring the structure, utility vehicles as well as security gadgets at the centre.”
The witness also told the court that various sums were paid to some groups coordinated by some government functionaries, including the late Oronto Douglas and Abbah Dabo.
He said he was not very certain about the amount released to late Douglas, but added that N25m was released to Dabo as mobilisation fee for advocacy groups, in line with the directive.
Ihediwa said the former president also approved different amounts for some other groups and Metuh disbursed the funds to them accordingly.
He said because of the tension and high level of insecurity across the six geo-political regions of the country then, there was the need for government to mobilise various advocacy groups to stabilise the system.
Meanwhile, Justice Okon Abang has reserved ruling for November 15 on applications filed by the defence counsel.

President Muhammadu Buhari has rejected the criticism that his handling of the economy led the country into a recession.
Speaking at the State House,in Abuja during a meeting with the Senior Executive Course No 38 of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, (NIPSS), he said that it was not his administration that led the country into recession.
The president said: “In the last one and half years of this administration, the economy has experienced some tough times, particularly with the decline in oil revenues, which has some harsh impacts on Nigerians at the grassroots.
“It is also important to note that the economic recession is not the making of this administration, but rather a consequence of bad management of the economy in the past couple of decades. Nor is recession limited to Nigeria; there are far, far worse cases than Nigeria.”
The president, however, said that no matter the scale of the problem facing the country, the important thing was how to tackle it.
He said his administration was committed to finding lasting solutions to the nation’s economic structural imbalance.
“Let us have faith in our great nation that we will come out of this recession vibrant and strong,” he added.
The president said it was impossible for his administration to ignore the poor who made great sacrifice to bring him to government.
He said: “Ours more than any other government in the history of Nigeria is a people’s government. We therefore must and we will keep faith with the people.”
President Muhammadu Buhari says he will keep faith with the oath of office he swore, and treat all Nigerians equitably.
Receiving the Executive Committee Members of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) from 19 Northern States and Abuja, at State House, Thursday, the President equally pledged to restore peace to all parts of the country, noting: “Restoring peace is a top priority.
We will enable the law enforcement agencies to combat all forms of violent crimes, and ensure that our people live in peace.”

Upon interrogation, he said got a divine instruction to go and share the meat to save his dying son.
A former staff of Oceanic Bank Aliyu Suleiman on Wednesday was sentenced to 195 years imprisonment for fraud by Justice Dije Abdu Aboki of the Kano State High Court.
The convict was arraigned by the EFCC on the September 30, 2014, for allegedly stealing over N21m from Albasu Microfinance Bank. Upon his arraignment, the convict pleaded not guilty to all the count charge brought against him by the EFCC.
Delivering her judgment Justice Aboki sentenced the convict to serve two years on each of count one to forty four and fine of N300,000 on each. Where the convict defaults the fine, he is to serve additional six months imprisonment on each count.
From count 45 to 74, the convict was sentenced to fine of N500,000 or twelve months imprisonment on each count while on count 75 to 105, he is to pay fine of N200,000 or twelve months imprisonment on each count with the exception of count 97 which appeared to be duplication.
The sentences were to run concurrently. The convict was also ordered to restitute the sum of N14.8m to the Albasu Community or spend five more years in prison.
The convict was a former staff of Oceanic Bank and was entrusted by the Albasu Community to take charge of their Microfinance Bank. While in charge, the convict violated that trust and siphoned over N21m by forging signatures of the other signatories to the funds.
President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday, said that he almost left the country upon assumption when he discovered that the national treasury was empty.

We got to chat with Bobby and he has this to say about himself…
His full name is Bobby Desmond Idiogbe, hails from edo state and resides in abuja. Born on the 7th of July, (which makes his astrological star sign, CANCER), Bobby engages in drumming, outdoor catering, event planning and he’s even a master of ceremony (MC) Talk about being a master of all trades eh?!.
He’s a student of the Federal University of Technology Minna F.U.T. Minna, where he studies computer science.
When we asked how he came across the blog, he said:
I knew yabaleft since November 2014, after my elder brother @Collins_Bobby retweeted your review of M.I Abaga’s album THE CHAIRMAN on twitter, the review was wow, so i added yabaleftonline.ng to my bookmark

He said:
I visit yabaleft almost everytime i am surfing the net, because its one of my favourite entertainment website for now.
Known for his sense of humour, we asked Bobby what the craziest thing he has ever done is and he said:
The craziest thing i have ever done is going to the bank with an opener because i want to open an account.

A woman in Ilorin told a court to dissolve her two year marriage because she refused to stay in purdah, the News Agency of Nigeria reports.
The purdah practice requires married Muslim women to stay in separate rooms, behind a curtain or dress in all-enveloping clothes, in other to say out of the sight of men or strangers.
But Azanat Bashiru told the court that Mumin Bashiru, her husband of two years and father of their two children, did not tell her before they got married in 2014 that she would be put in purdah.
“This is not in our agreement. I cannot be covering my body with black cloth, including my eyes, all of the time,’’ she said. Mumin did not raise any objection. “If she doesn’t agree to be in purdah, she is free to go,’’ he said. But he demanded custody of their two children.
This beautiful young lady, Princess Chioma Mary, is heartbroken after her man dumped her recently like a bag of hot potato.
She took to Facebook to share her pain with her followers – but instead of sympathizing with her, people are mocking her appearance. They’re saying her boyfriend dumped her because she looks like an “Ibadan girl”.
What does that even mean?!?
She wrote: “I gave him all my heart and all he did to me is this??? Following my heart is the worst mistakes I always make… Don’t blame me for posting this but I got to.”

A Nigerian guy who claims he was scammed by the raving MMM community, shared his story to Laila. According to him, all was going well with the scheme until he decided to open an account for his cousin who also bares the same surname with him.
He wrote:
It started on the 19th June 2016, My Friend introduced me to this MMM of a thing… I obliged and Joined… It was paying well, there was no comma or full stop, not all.
Till I opened an account for my cousin who shared the same surname…

MMM ADMINISTRATOR placed my account on temporary moratorium of getting help as they provide and get help in the system on 13th September 2016 and told me to verify identity of which I did.
After that, I kept on contacting MMM Support of which they assured me they will remove their God forsaken temporary moratorium which they have used to scam thousands of participants (not only me) as i found out they do it secretly and MMM fortifies its system with this… That also account in a way how they pay 30‰ to their teeming community of 30% earners (Guiders, referrals and ordinary participants)… Only for my account to be blocked by the administrator earlier today that I used two accounts that the registration and referral bonuses have been deleted while my #90,000 I paid since when I started MMM which yielded 189,000 naira parted with the blocked account.
Even as it hurts me being my first time to be scammed… I will like Nigerians to thread with caution with this MMM of a thing and keep on pursuing their dreams as there is dignity in Labour.

The account am accused of violating their policy is [email protected] which is also on their temporary moratorium (meaning another scam as that was how they started with my account [email protected])
