The photos of the baby you’re about to see is that of a very lucky one who was born with his intestines and bladder outside of his body.
Doctors were forced to wrap Jack Hearne in kitchen cling film, in seconds after he was delivered naturally, to stop the chance of infection and keep his organs close to his body, in a desperate attempt to save his life.
A rare birth defect, called gastroschisis, meant he was born with two of his vital organs on the outside after his abdomen failed to form properly.
However, four months later, Jack is finally home with his parents, Orla and Brian, and older sister Ella, in Waterford, Ireland. Hours later after his birth, Jack had had his first operation where surgeons were able to put two thirds of his organs back into his stomach.
The rest of his organs were hung in a bag above his stomach in the hope that they would fall back into place. And a second operation the following morning allowed them to do just that.
His parents were told they would be in hospital for three months, but after just four weeks they were able to take Jack home.
These shocking images you are about to see exposes the brutal life endured by prisoners in Manila quezon City prison which was built for 800… but now houses 3,800 inmates.
Located in the capital city of the Philippines, the living conditions are so harsh that some prisoners do not even have enough space to sleep on the floor.
Instead, prisoners are forced to take turns to lie down.
One prisoner – Raymund Narag – was 20 when he was sent to the jail after being convicted of murdering a young man.
He served seven years in the prison, and have since spoken out about the conditions there. Mr Narag claims he shared one cell with 30 others, living on a diet of dried fish.
Speaking of life behind bars, he has previously said:
“I saw firsthand the intricacies of managing a crowded, underfunded, undermanned prison institution.”

A diner at a restaurant in China made the establishment’s owner to eat a cockroach by force after he found the insect in his food.
The man ordered a plate of fried noodles from the restaurant on July 25 in Changsha, Hunan province, and claimed he discovered the insect in his meal.
People’s Daily Online reports that at that point, the customer gave the restaurant owner an ultimatum, either they eat the cockroach or cough up 5,000 yuan (£569).
The shopkeeper, instantly eat the cockroach and refused to cough up the cash. However the man still kept asking the woman for money, demanding that she pay him some kind of compensation for his bad experience. The woman refused.
According to the report, the restaurant had been running for 11 years and had never encountered problems like this before.
Some workers at the restaurant claim that they thought they were being blackmailed. One worker was fighting tears to the camera when she said that her boss had been forced to eat the insect.
On July 26, the Food and Drug Administration visited the restaurant for an inspection.
They found that the restaurant was using outdated equipment and did not have the facilities to rid the establishment of flies or rats. The administration asked the restaurant to close for five days so that they could make the necessary changes.
Top notch Nollywood actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekehinde, who recently celebrated her 20th wedding anniversary with her husband, Matthew, spoke in an interview with The Nation, opening up on the secret of her marriage, aging and beauty.
Read excerpts:
On being married for 20 years
It’s just been fun. I’m married to my friend and should I say, my destiny supporter. There’s no relationship without its challenge. When people hear that we are celebrated twenty years, they think we must be really without stress or anything, but I just want to let people know that if you are determined to do it in life, if you are determined to make it, you will make it. You have troubles in life generally anyway; either with your parents, or with your siblings.
So it’s just like that. It’s a normal thing. Don’t use any opportunity or any quarrel in a relationship with your spouse to justify the fact that everybody says marriage is hard. It’s not any harder, I think, than any other relationship you’ve had in life, maybe with your business partners or with your siblings. I understand that there are some marriages that have more challenges than others. If there is abuse involved, I think you should find your way out quickly. But if there is no abuse, then there is nothing you cannot overcome. Given that, I have had a very wonderful time with my spouse. We’ve just been friends. That’s what matters most.
On having grey hair
Well, I’m 38 years old so I’m not scared. But even if I was 51, that’s not the point. I’m growing younger if you actually think about it. Even babies these days have grey hair. Anyways, that’s not the point. The point is, in life, I think we should all embrace who we are. And I think when people are sufficient or feel sufficient in life, and you feel like you’re achieving, you really wouldn’t be afraid of age.
I think people are afraid to age when they actually look at where they are in life and feel like they’ve not achieved much. They feel like time is running by. I think that’s actually the reason why people are afraid of aging if you really go into it. But if you are contented in life and know that all fingers are not equal and you are where you are meant to be, because you could actually be six feet below. That you’re alive and well in itself is a reason to celebrate age. I don’t think that’s a reason why not.
On her definition of beauty
I think beauty, first and foremost, is in the confidence. If you are a confident woman and you understand your self-worth, I think you are beautiful. That is why sometimes you see some girls that you think, visually, in your own definition, are not aesthetically beautiful.
But any time they walk into a room, everybody turns. And you wonder why everybody is looking at that girl. She’s not even that fine. If you get it together, she is a confident woman. So beauty for a woman, even for men but especially for women, is knowing your self-worth, understanding yourself, understanding your body and working with what you have. Most women don’t have everything. Even I don’t have everything but there are things that you have, so work with what you have.
Controversies have served rounds on Nigerian social media, after it was claimed that the #SavaMayowa donations motive was a scam to dupe Nigerians of their hard earned money despite this harsh economy in the country.

Ever since this motion of hers, Nigerians have been giving all sort of claims that the actress, also wanted a part in the dubious means – well, her colleague, Iyabo Ojo Fespris, is not so happy with this motion by Nigerians as she has gone to her IG page to air her displeasure.
According to Iyabo Ojo, Toyin was only trying to give a helping hand and she needn’t be blamed for whatever is going on now.
She also noted this would discourage celebrities from lending their voices to charity causes next time.

“I gave birth to this princess at a very young age, and those days if you’re pregnant and you’re young, you became the talk of the town. Parents used to warn their children to not associate themselves with such girls and you become an outcast and the thing that came on your mind was an abortion. But I thank God He never allowed that to happen,” she said on the post while speaking about her daughter Yvonne.

For the second time in one week, Ogun State police Command on Friday rescued another 10-year-old girl, Promise Udeh, allegedly chained for stealing the sum of N4,000.
Udeh was said to have been chained to a burglary proof by her aunt, Chiamaka Okafor, in an uncompleted building in the Adigbe area of the state.
Udeh was rescued by the police following a tip-off by members of the public. The 10-year-old victim has also been taken to the Stella Obasanjo Children’s Home in Abeokuta, by the police.
It would be recalled that similar incident occurred barely a week after a 9-year-old boy, Korede Taiwo, who was chained for over a month by his father in Atan, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of the state for stealing as well.
Meanwhile, Chiamaka was said to have taken to her heels while the police made efforts to rescue the young girl from bondage. But her husband, Sunday Okafor, was arrested and is currently being detained.
While confirming the incident, Acting State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi disclosed that the state Commissioner for Police, Ilyasu Ahmed, had ordered the arrest of the victim’s aunt, who is currently on the run.
He said:
“The girl was rescued by the police and upon interrogation, the girl told us that it was her aunt who tied her on the allegation that she stole a sum of N4,000.
“The aunt is on the run, while her husband, who is an accomplice, has been arrested and he is helping us in our investigation.
“The CP, IIiyasu Ahmed, has ordered a serious manhunt for the fleeing aunt with a view of bringing her to justice, so as to serve as deterrent to others.
“The matter is under investigation. The Police are after the woman by name Chiamaka Okafor. Her husband, one Sunday Okafor, is in our custody. As soon as we complete the investigation, they will be charged to court.”
He, therefore, said that the state police boss, who expressed sadness over the incident, had warned residents of the state to avoid such inhuman treatment of children.
“The CP is not happy with the situation, barely a week after one Korede Taiwo was rescued from similar situation. I don’t know why people are being wicked to their own blood relation.
“It is quite appalling; so, because of that the CP has warned residents of the state that the Command will no longer tolerate this type of man’s inhumanity to man, and that anybody caught in this kind of act, is going to be dealt with,” Oyeyemi said.
There’s this lady in Hijab who nearly brought business to a standstill with her derriere during a recent concert in Kampala, Uganda.
The curvaceous lady was dressed in a figure hugging dress that left on lookers stunned as she wiggled her derriere in all directions.
However, what infuriated most people was the the choice of her dress as they accused her of having no respect for the hijab… Well, may Allah have mercy on her.
Similarly just the other day, there were these photos of a lady putting on her church garment being romanced by a certain man.
We just can’t understand while some youths are fond of doing unholy things while they putting on holy symbols. At least, you should give God what belongs to God and if you want to play with the devil, give him only what belongs to him.
In view of the recent happenings around Mayowa Ahmed’s ill health and the many allegations of fraud surrounding the funds raised, it has become imperative that I come clean by stating my side of the story and by implications, set the record straight.
When I got wind of Mayowa’s sickness, I was moved to tears and immediately sought to know how I could help, hence my on-the-spot video which went viral as my genuine intervention.
Indeed, I was overwhelmed by the quick response of well-meaning Nigerians to whom I will forever owe a debt of gratitude.
But all this changed yesterday, Thursday 28th, July, when I went to the hospital in the morning to check as well as follow up on Mayowa. Her brother had told everyone to leave them alone because they wanted privacy. Although I was shocked at the sudden change in attitude, especially the tone of communication, I still did not suspect anything was amiss.
However, on my way out, I received a call from one Aramide Kasumu of Life Stake Foundation, who would later claim the whole Mayowa Ahmed fund raiser was a scam. Importantly, she wanted to know the extent of my involvement and in her words, “so that when they are giving their reports, I would not be roped into it”. She went further to state that the family deceived everyone in the first place by raising funds for Mayowa despite the fact that her case was helpless and the hopes of her survival was near impossible. She seemed to know so much, I reckoned.
Upon hearing this, I was appalled and in a bid to clear my name, I went back to the hospital in palpable anger and demanded explanations from all concerned. Perhaps, I overreacted when I went into a rage of anger over the matter with the CSO. I then alerted the Police PRO, who invited the parties involved to the police command.
I want to state for the record that I have never been a fraud and will never partake in one, not even at this stage of my career (which I hold to heart). All my efforts were strictly on humanitarian grounds without recourse to any pecuniary consideration or the resort to cheap fame.
That said, whatever discomfort my reactions may have cost anyone from any quarters is highly regretted and I take responsibility.
Whilst I wish Mayowa a quick recovery and divine intervention, I want to urge us as a people to continue to exhibit that enviable Nigerian spirit of compassion and generosity and not because of this isolated case cease to be our sister/brother’s keeper. I love you all and thank you.
Chibuike Miracle Oramalu, a 7-year-old boy, has been made to appear before a magistrate court in Enugu.
The boy has been dragged to court by the police in Enugu for alleged murder.
According to The Punch, Chibuike, a primary two pupil in a nursery and primary school, had on May 29, accidentally fired a gun, which killed 12-year-old Oluebube Boniface.
The incident occurred in the Independence Layout area of Enugu.
The gun belonged to Mr. Edwin Oforma, who employed Chibuike’s mother as a cleaner and housekeeper in his house.
Chibuike accidentally fired the shot after discovering the gun in Oforma’s room while making the bed, as he was instructed by Chukwunanu, Oforma’s son.
Following the incident, the boy was initially detained by the police from May 30 till July 13, when he was released.
Although Chibuike’s mother, Mrs Nwakaego Oramalu, and her lawyer, Mr. Olu Omotayo, of the Civil Rights Realisation and Advancement Network, had raised the alarm over the little boy’s detention, the Enugu State Police Command claimed he was in “protective custody”.
However, about two weeks after his release, Chibuike was on Friday arraigned, before an Enugu magistrate court over alleged conspiracy and murder.
The owner of the gun which Chibuike accidentally fired, Oforma, was arraigned alongside the seven-year-old boy before Magistrate Hillary Asogwa.
In the charge sheet, which was obtained by our correspondent, Chibuike and Oforma were, in count one, accused of conspiring among themselves to commit murder.
The Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH, has denied involvement in the public appeal to raise funds for the treatment of Miss Mayowa Ahmed, one of it’s patients.
In a statement issued today, the LUTH management said contrary to any circulating information, the hospital did not refer Ahmed overseas and as an Institution, is not involved with any fund-raising activity or activist on her behalf.
The statement said LUTH has only dealt with Ahmed and her relations throughout her stay and not with any other third party.
“Miss Mayowa Ahmed is an old patient of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital who has been on treatment for another condition. This 31year-old lady came into the Private Wing of LUTH on Monday, 25th July, 2016 with a history and clinical features of an intra-abdominal mass. The family and the patient brought along some results of laboratory investigations ordered and done from outside LUTH. Three different Specialists were invited to review Mayowa. The Gynaecologist, Oncologist and Haematologist all arrived at a tentative diagnosis of an abdominal malignancy. They planned to conduct a series of fresh tests to confirm the definitive diagnosis, since the earlier tests were neither requested nor authorised by any doctor from LUTH.
The family however requested to fly Miss Ahmed outside the country barely 24 hours after her admission in LUTH, thus stalling all the planned investigations meant to arrive at a definitive diagnosis. We were able to transfuse her with much-needed blood only after lots of persuasion where the family was told point blank that it was risky for her to travel by air, given her low blood count. Today is the 3rd day after admission and a definitive diagnosis has not yet been made while the relations insist on their own to carry her abroad. LUTH has only dealt with Miss Ahmed and her relations throughout her stay and not with any other third party. Contrary to any circulating information, the Lagos University Teaching Hospital did not refer Miss Ahmed overseas and this Institution is not involved with any fund-raising activity or activist on her behalf.
There was a disturbance of the peace today around the ward premises. When an altercation involving Miss Ahmed’s relatives and persons not known to the Hospital ensued, the police were invited to restore peace in the Hospital. Both parties are presently with the police and we urge the general public to patiently await the outcome of the ongoing police investigations. We also enjoin the good-natured public
On Wednesday, July 27, an email was disseminated to various media houses, claiming that Iyoho was in the hospital after a fire stunt went wrong on set of the upcoming movie “Behind the Wheels.”
A video of Iyoho on fire was also shared by Ohikhuare on his official Facebook page. Hours later, the video was deleted.
Photos of Ani Iyoho on a hospital bed also surfaced online.
Iyoho who recently completed filming of the movie “Blurred Lines” in Ghana, returned to Nigeria to film the fire scene.
He took to his Instagram page to share the below update:
“Wrapped up on #BlurredLineshere in Accra, Ghana directed by Dickson Dzakpasu @dicksondzakpasu . I’m heading to Lagos, Nigeria tomorrow to finish the hottest scene on#behindthewheels Directed by Stanlee Ohikhuere @stanleeohikhuare.
“I call this wrap scene the #hottestbecause we will be playing with #fire. I’m about to go down in history as probably the first Nigerian to be set on fire in a#nollywood #movie #production. I’m#excited about it.
“I hope it goes well. I have a lot of faith in the #sfxmakeupartist Dorothea Kwofie@dorothea_kwofie . She assures me I’ll be alright and she’s the best SFX artist I know in Africa so I believe her. Looking forward to this.”
Read conversation between Iyoho and Ohikhaure (The Director) below:
According to TNS, an undisclosed source revealed the alleged ‘stunt gone wrong’ to be a well planned publicity stunt.
“Na lie, Ani is fine. Nothing happened to him,” the source said. “He has been attending several events after we completed shoot. I don’t know if the director is in on this stunt but we discussed something like that a few weeks ago.”
As at time of this report, Ohikhuare and Iyoho have not been available as all attempts to reach them have been unsuccessful.
Ohikhuare is popular for movies like “Stupid Movie,” “Verdict,” “Common Man,” “Tunnel,” “Kpians: The Feast of Souls” among others.
A suspected child abductor, Ola Ibikunle, who sold a three-year-old for N1,500 has been arrested by the police.
The Punch reports that Ibikunle, a bricklayer, was arrested after he abducted a four-year-old girl in Oyero area of Ijoko, Ogun State.
According to the newspaper, Ibikunle, was about to strangle his victim, Eniola, in an uncompleted building when he was caught by passersby. He was later handed over to operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Agbado Police Division.
Eniola and her 11-year-old sister Opeyemi were following their father, Segun Quadri, to a church in Ijoko around 2pm on Tuesday when she was grabbed by Ibikunle.
Quadri was said to have gone some distance ahead when the suspect ambushed the children and abducted Eniola. Opeyemi reportedly raised the alarm which caught the attention of some passersby.
The suspect was subsequently found in an uncompleted building where he was trying to strangle the girl.
An angry mob had beaten him up before the police arrived at the scene.
The suspect, who spoke in Yoruba, also confessed to stealing a 3-year-old boy around the Ijoko area sometime in June. He said he sold the boy to a man in the Sango area for N1,500.
He said, “I am a bricklayer, but I use child abduction to augment my wages. A man in the Sango area contracted me to always get children for him. I don’t know what he uses them for. Last month, I abducted a boy of about three years and sold him to the man for N1,500.
“This girl (Eniola) was the second child I would abduct, but I did not succeed.”
A police source told the Punch that efforts were being made to apprehend the buyer of the abducted boy.
“The suspect has confessed to the crime and he stated that he sells his victims to a man in the Sango area. But he has yet to mention the name of the kingpin. Some operatives followed him to the area twice, but he did not lead them to the man’s house. We are going to ensure that we track him down,” the source said.
Mayowa Ahmed’s cousin, Habeeb Odufuye, who is a cousin to her spoke on behalf of the family. He expressed his gratitude and appreciation on behalf of the family.
He also used the opportunity to address the issue raised by the general public.
Some of the issues addressed in the video were;
– Her family were not aware she posted a video online seeking for help due to her illness.
– A sum of 10 million naira has been spent already for her treatment.
– The family insists the funds raised for Mayowa will be used for her treatment only.
– Habeeb also mentioned that the campaign – Save Mayowa – isn’t a scam.
– Habeeb confirms that the family has email threads with Flying Doctors, the hospital in Abu Dhabi and Atlanta.
Today, July 28, 2016, there were reports that the #SaveMayowa which was a campaign to raise funds for Ahmed Mayowa Shukurat who has stage IV ovarian cancer was a scam by her family members to take money from innocent Nigerians.
According to these unconfirmed reports doctors in LUTH had already told Ahmed Mayowa Shukurat’s family that her case was advanced and it was too late for her to be saved but the family still went ahead to raise funds by deceiving Nigerians that her cancer was curable.
Also Toyin Aimakhu who spearheaded the movement to save Ahmed Mayowa Shukurat’s life yesterday took to her Instagram page to say that the #SaveMayowa campaign was fake and Nigerians should stop donating.
“Please to the public this is so fake, no more GoFunds on behalf of Mayowa and whoever is behind this shame on you. Please disregard any information/s about her pls.
If you need any info please kindly get in touch with me please and will bring more info tonight again, whoever created this acct shame on you again and lastly to all our Pastors, Alfas and traditionalists and everyone please she needs our prayers more now please and I’m sure god wants to use Mayowa case to let us know we Nigerians love ourselves and we are the best country in the world.”, she wrote on her page.
Toyin Aimakhu took a step further by taking members of the Nigerian police force to LUTH to arrest Ahmed Mayowa Shukurat’s brothers. You can see her in LUTH today in the videos below;
Pulse went to LUTH to investigate if the accusations were true.
Speaking to Ahmed Mayowa Shukurat’s sister Ahmed Mariam at LUTH she told Pulse that Toyin Aimakhu’s accusations are untrue and unfounded.
“I don’t know why Toyin Aimakhu and Linda Ikeji are saying we are scamming Nigerians. It’s a lie! No doctor ever told us my sis cannot survive this they just told us to do something and take her out of the country. Nigerians we did not scam u ooo it’s a lie oo. Linda Ikeji has never been in this story and now she’s just cooking up everything to just…
“Right now my sis is in d room crying. I don’t know what Linda wants from us. It is true. she has ovarian cancer. We sent the medical report we posted everything on line. At least we posted everything online.
“No doctor ever told us it’s stage four. It’s not until two weeks ago they told us she has ovarian cancer. So even if we know she’s going to die we have to do something. Nobody even asked her to do the video she did it herself she’s tired.. I don’t know where Linda cooked d story” she told Pulse exclusively.
By the time Pulse got there Toyin Aimakhu and some relatives had been moved to the Area D Police command Mushin, Lagos.
Video Below:
Meanwhile, we had a chat with her cousin, Olamide who told Pulse her travelling plans are already underway.
He said,
“To my surprise. I got here this morning around 12. I got a call from my friend that there’s a scene happening that Toyin Aimakhu came in.
A brother of mine asked her to move out that Mayowa has to rest. Her travelling plan is already underway. Toyin came in this morning, she received a call from someone and the person told her that she heard from someone from a Doctor that it is a scam that they said my cousin is going to die. She heard it from a doctor here.
There is no doctor here that has come out to say my cousin is going to die. If they had even told us Mayowa is going to die, would we still come out to raise the money. There’s a clause if the hospital told us we wouldn’t have raised the money. We want our cousin to live, she needs to live. The family has been trying from the first stage.”
Also confirmed sources at the hospital disclosed Aimakhu did not come to find out from Luth about the said patient, Ahmed Mayowa Shukurat.
According to them the medical certificates don’t bear the letter head of LUTH.
Ahmed Mayowa Shukurat’s family has released a general statement denouncing the allegations. You can read it below;
Hello all,
We have been called by friends, family and everyone who has our contacts that our raising funds for Mayo is a scam. We were also informed that some persons had made statements concerning her state and her ability to pull through this ordeal.
As a family we wish to make these affirmative statements:
· mayowa is presently in LUTH receiving treatments that will prepare her for 7hr trip to Abu Dhabi. We have also engaged the services of the Flying Doctors to accompany her on the trip based on recommendation by the Doctors in LUTH (Form attached)
· mayowa is receiving treatment in LUTH to allow her be able to travel as advised by the Doctors in LUTH and she has been transfused to help improve her PCV
· The funds are solely for mayowa’ s treatment and for no other reason.
· We await her Visa for travel documents to commence the journey as we are in touch with the doctors abroad and they are awaiting her arrival.
We appreciate the contributions made by Nigerians on this journey. mayowa will live to tell this story and you shall be one of the audiences by His grace.
Please support us with prayers as you will surely be told the success story as we have not given up on mayowa living her life and we will never give up until the work God has started is finished.
Thank you once again and will provide updates on her treatment and procedures.
The family of Mayowa Ahmed has denied claims its fund raiser to fly the University of Lagos graduate abroad for cancer surgery was not a scam.
The family had raised $100,847 via crowdfunding site gofundme.com, backed by popular Nigerians, including actress Toyin Aimakhu.
Additional donations, reportedly running into millions were also received via a bank account provided by her family.
However, on Thursday, Blogger Linda Ikeji reported that the #SaveMayowa campaign was a scam, sparking controversy on the social media.
According to the LIB report, actress Toyin Aimakhu, who played a major role in soliciting funds, had reported the family to the police.
It also claimed that doctors at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital had said that they refused to give the family a referral for treatment abroad as no hospital could save her.
The report divided Nigerians on the social media with some expressing anger and disgust at the family and others criticising the blogger and LUTH for insinuating that the family shouldn’t have pursued further treatment after being informed Mayowa’s cancer was at stage 4.
Amid the controversy, the family issued a statement, insisting that they did not deceive Nigerians and that they had contacted hospitals abroad and were concluding arrangements to fly her abroad for treatment as planned.
In the statement, the Ahmed family explained that it had also contacted Flying Doctors to fly Mayowa to Dubai for treatment, while providing evidence of correspondence with a hospital abroad.
“Chocolate City Music is proud to present the visuals to the remix of Koker’s smashing hit single, “Kolewerk” which has steadily taken over the airwaves since its release.
The fast-rising music revelation who burst into the scene in grand style with ‘Do Something’ has not taken his foot off the throttle ever since. With pundits already hinting ‘Kolewerk Remix’ as one to pick up many awards as the year winds down, this video only seals the deal for the young and vibrant hitmaker.
The video was directed by Three Kings (RCube Oshodi, ThemythCreate & Psalmurai) of Capital Pictures.
Finally, pictures and more gist are coming in to confirm the viral report that the #SaveMayowa initiative may have been an elaborate plot to scam unsuspecting Nigerians of their hard earned money.
Toyin Aimakhu, in an interview with online news platform Ynaija has spoken out.
The actress said when she went to LUTH and showed the doctors Mayowa’s medical report, the doctors said the report was fake. Toyin also alleges Mayowa Ahmed’s family came up with the scheme this past Sunday.
Toyin Aimakhu Storms LUTH with Police Officers
The actress alleged,
“They tagged me, she sent a message to me… they said she’s my huge fan saying she had cancer and she needed help and wanted me to come… I showed the doctor the (medical) report and the doctor said ‘which report?’. They said it was a fake report.
She continued,
“They just came up with the plan on Sunday. They now came to LUTH to appear as if they were in LUTH. When they saw me they said I did not help them to beg for money… that they don’t know anything.”
#SaveMayowa has reportedly raised over $150,000 through a GoFundMe account and an excess of N80 million in Mayowa’s Access bank account through public donations.

A trader at a market on 23 Road, FESTAC Town, Lagos, Ikechukwu Alu, has been arrested by the police for the alleged abduction and rape of a seven-year-old girl, Victoria.
It was learnt that the victim had been sent on an errand to buy a voucher (recharge card), but she misplaced it while returning home.
On getting home, she was reportedly chased out to look for the recharge card during which the 25-year-old suspect abducted her on Adeola Street in Amuwo Odofin, where she lives, and took her to a shop in a nearby market.
Alu reportedly made the girl to pass the night in the shop and allegedly raped her.
PUNCH Metro learnt that as he left the shop around 5am the following day, some residents around the area saw him, with Victoria strapped to his back.
The residents, who are aware Alu does not have a child, reportedly queried him on how he came about the girl.
When he could not give a genuine explanation, they were said to have poured ashes on him and alerted the police at the FESTAC division, who picked him up.
Our correspondent learnt that Victoria told the police that the suspect “put his thing (manhood) in my bum-bum ” and was subsequently taken to the Mirabel Centre at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja.
A test carried out on her at the centre reportedly confirmed that she was raped.
The suspect reportedly told the police that he had met the girl crying on Adeola Street and asked her what was wrong.
“She said her parent sent her to buy a recharge card, but it got missing and as a result she was chased out.
I told her to follow me to a place and promised to take her home afterwards. She agreed and that was how I took her to the shop. We only slept together; I didn’t touch her,” he said.
Alu was brought before an Apapa Magistrate’s Court on one count of rape by a police prosecutor, Francisca Job.
Job told the court, presided over by Magistrate A.O. Adegbite, that the offence contravened Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The charge read, “That you, Ikechukwu Alu, on May 24, 2016, at about 5am at 23 Road, FESTAC Town, Lagos, in the Apapa Magisterial District, did unlawfully defile a seven-year-old girl, thereby committing an offence punishable under Section 138 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, Nigeria, 2011.”
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge and elected summary trial.
The magistrate, Adegbite, admitted him to bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum, adding that the sureties’ residential addresses and evidence of tax payments made to Lagos State must be verified by the prosecution.
We met 12 years ago in UNIBEN in Nigeria, I was on my way to choir practice, when he walked up to me and said hello to me, I said “hi” I walked as fast as I could away from him as I was already running late for Choir practice, he kept following me and asked if I could give him a minute, I shouted at him and said “say what you want to say am late for choir practice” he was quite polite and told me his name was Richard , what’s your name he asked and I answered ” you asked me to give you a minute right? Your time is up” and I walked away.
I didn’t see him again until about 2 months after, I was going to the library to read and was preparing for my exams, he saw me and followed me to the library, he said I know you are preparing for your exams but please hear me out, he asked me for my mobile number, I lied to him and told him I didn’t have a phone, he asked me when I will be through with my exams, I told him 2 weeks time, then he said I’ll come look for you in the library a day to your last papers, I said alright, and then he left.
The day before my last papers I didn’t go to the library, I decided to study at home in order to avoid him, I went home for holidays after my last paper.
About a week later I got a call from him, I was surprised how he got my number and I asked him how he got my number, and he told me he went to my hostel to look for me, he said he described me to any one he could find and finally a classmate of mine gave him my number and he told me her name, I was really surprised she has my number because we weren’t that close, I guess she gave him my number just to spite me, but God had other plans for me.
God used her to bring such an amazing and God fearing man into my life, he kept in touch , in fact he called me everyday but never asked me out for a date or anything.
Then about 2 weeks later , we were talking on the phone and he asked if he could come visit me at home. I said no, but I asked if he could come to my church on Sunday, he said yes and he did. After Church we went out on a date and that was when we started a Godly relationship for about 2 years before we got married 10 years ago.
And God has blessed us with 3 amazing kids and it’s been God all the way.
