Nigeria’s King of comedy, Ali Baba today, April 15, 2016, is celebrating his 10th wedding anniversary with wife, Mary Akpobome. The couple got married on this day in 2006. The union is blessed with six children.
In celebration of this great milestone, the comedian and his banker wife renewed their wedding vows at a private ceremony in Lagos. Major congrats to them!

Days ago, he become the first Nigerian artiste to make the Billboard Hot 100 and Top 2 Spots on Billboard + Twitter Trending 140 Charts, and it’s all thanks to his collaboration with Drake on the smash hit song, ‘One Dance’. Now, the ‘Ojuelegba’ singer has made iTunes World Chart and has remained on that spot for one week, and counting.
Wizkid shared the news with his fans on Twitter last night. “One Dance has now spent one whole week at #1 on iTunes worldwide,” he wrote, adding, “madness.”
The singer is gaining all the global recognition he deserves. In 2015, Star Boy broke the internet after Canadian rapper Drake dropped the remix of ‘Ojuelegba’ on his OVO Sound radio. Next Wizkid made it to FADER magazine, where he revealed his future collaborative project, and later, he was profiled as one of the 12 innovative singers in the world who have what the magazine described as ‘the coolest’ sounds.
And that’s not all.
In February, Wizkid made it to Vogue; he was named the Best Dressed Pop Star in Nigeria, adding another feather to his much-decorated cap.

Linda Ikeji has reported Wizkid to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police Owoseni Fatai, over the threats he made during their heated social media beef.
Recall a few weeks ago when Wizkid & Linda Ikeji traded words, wizzy threatened to have her physically assualted, writing on social media..

That is a threat, which Linda Ikeji isn’t taken lightly.
According to The NET, the controversial blogger has reported the threat to the Lagos State commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni & a summon has been issued to Wizkid to appear at the Police Command for questioning.
The summons letter was sent to his manager Sunday Are’s office in Surulere but the pop star failed to show up.
We aren’t sure how far this case will go, but one thing we know is that Section 323 of the criminal code states that,
Any person who, knowing the contents thereof directly or indirectly causes any person to receive any writing threatening to kill any person is guilty of a felony, and is liable to imprisonment for 7 years

Barbadian singer and work hitmaker, Rihanna’s empire is expanding to include a complete makeup collection.
The line, called ‘Fenty Beauty by Rihanna,’ comes in collaboration with the Kendo division of LVMH and is set to arrive Fall 2017.
It’s estimated that LVMH paid as much as $10 million to make the deal.

Kendo, which functions as an incubator producing products that end up being retailed by LVMH’s Sephora perfumery chain and other outposts, will launch a Rihanna makeup range, called Fenty Beauty by Rihanna, in the fall of 2017.
While the company provided no other details, David Suliteanu, chief executive officer of Kendo, was in a celebratory mood. “Fenty Beauty by Rihanna is a beauty rocket ship that will appeal to a huge and diverse global audience,” he said. “We are aiming for the stars.”

Today marks 2 years since the kidnap of the over 200 girls kidnapped from the Chibok Secondary School in Borno State. Yesterday, CNN published a video sent to the government by the terrorist group, Boko Haram, as ‘proof of life’. The 2-minute clip was reportedly recorded on December 25, 2015, and had about 15 girls respond to questions about their school, where they were taken and the date of recording, before they made a plea.
Much has been written about the kidnap of the girls, the reign of the group and the victims displaced from their communities, but the horror of having over 200 girls at the mercy of the terrors, whose reign has led to the death of over 1,500 people, leaves the mind numb.
And that’s the horror today expressed on social media by Nigerians and other people of the world who have refused to forget the young students; the girls’ only crime was that they wanted to attend school.

A man was arrested at an airport after being spotted trying to smuggle endangered live songbirds through customs stuffed in his trousers.
The man, who was travelling to Taiwan from Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, was found with a total of 18 creatures hidden in special pouches and in a cage in his luggage.
Pictures showed the man rolling up his trouser legs to expose the little birds in bags strapped to his shins with only their heads and tails sticking out.
Others were kept in specially made cages with screens inside his bags.
The Institute of Tropical Biology confirmed that 11 of the birds belonged to protected species like the white-rumped shamas (Copsychus malabaricus), oriental shamas (Copsychus saularis) and melodious laughing thrush (Garrulax canorus).
Customs officials are now investigating the man, who is believed to be a Vietnamese national.
Future is fighting back against Ciara’s defamation lawsuit and he’s using some pretty heavy language.
If you recall, weeks ago, Ciara slammed ex Future with a $15million defamation lawsuit after he wouldn’t stop shading her on social media and calling her a bad mother, and she also placed a gag order on him, to stop him talking about her on social media platforms. A 36-year-old man, Imeh Akpan accused of raping his wife’s 15-year-old step-sister for 10 years has been arrested by the police in Lagos.
The suspect, who was paraded before reporters on Wednesday afternoon, however denied the allegation, insisting that he only did it once.
Akpan, according to the Police Commissioner, Fatai Owoseni, started defiling the teenager since she was five-year-old.
“The teenager has been living with him since she was small. He started raping her when
she was five-year-old.“She lives with him and his wife, who’s her step-sister and he has been defiling her since then.
“But he was eventually caught at the weekend after the girl ran out of the house and was rescued by some policemen,” said Owoseni.
However, the victim (names withheld) disclosed that the man has taken advantage of her twice and her sister was not around.
She stated that she has complained to her sister once and when the older woman confronted her husband, he denied raping her.
She said:
“My daddy (suspect) raped me because my mummy travelled to Akwa Ibom last Wednesday. I was sleeping on Sunday, around 10pm, my daddy came and removed my clothes and slept with me.
“He used the towel to cover my eye and my mouth but I was still shouting and crying. He said nobody will come and help me. So, I ran out of the house when i got chance. After I ran out, I begged my neighbour to give me phone to talk to my mummy (half sister) and he said there is no credit in his phone.
“So, I ran towards the police station at the roundabout. On my way there, I saw one man who asked me where I was going. I told him everything and the man said he will take me to police station and to human right.
“So, he now took me to hotel that I should come and sleep in hotel till morning before he will take me to the station. I followed the man and I now said I cannot sleep with him inside the hotel.
“When I wanted to close my eyes, I was now seeing the man as if his hand was touching me in my dream. I could not close my eyes. Around 3am, I told the man I want to go and ease myself and he allowed me.
“The man now said since I want to go and report everything at police station that he will use his own money and that the money will be N50, 000, that I should do him a favour and enter the room. I did but the man wanted to rape me also and I shouted before the owner of the hotel came and opened the door.
“That was how I ran outside. As I was walking on the road, policemen saw me and I told them everything and they called one Okada man to take me to Lion Building.
“He has slept with me two times. The first time was last year. I told my mummy everything when she came back from church because my daddy told her that I ran out of the house. When I told her, she believed me but when my uncle now denied, he claimed that I left the door open and someone entered the house. That was why he kicked my left and I ran out,” she narrated.
But the victim who claimed he was drunk said he did not know what he did or how he did it.
“She is like my daughter and it is an abomination for me to sleep with her. I have been the one training her since she was a baby. I was drunk and I did not know anything. It was the police that invited me and told me I raped her. I did not even know. It is only this once I have done it. I do not know what came over me,” he said.

According to the report, Binta Diamond has returned to the United States after spending time in Nigeria with her son, Ayodeji Ibrahim Jr. “Waiting for this cold to go away,” the new mum wrote on Instagram yesterday, adding that they can’t “wait for summer.”

A quite love stricken, passionate couple were so engrossed in their public display of affection that they did not even have the slightest clue a robbery was going on.
The couple were canoodling at a Montana bar when a pair of masked men pointed a gun at the bartender and demanded an undisclosed amount of cash early.
The couple continued to lock lips as the robbers circled the bar, but eventually the love birds came up for air and watched the suspects flee with cash-on-hand.
No arrests have been made in the armed robbery.
Two suspected traffic robbers, identified as Oyakhilome Okonkwo, 22 and Oche Joseph, 25 who allegedly stole N23,500 from a passenger in the Agbado area.
The suspects that were nabbed by the RRS men at the U-Turn area on Tuesday after they had allegedly disguised as bus passengers and stolen N23,500 from a passenger.
It was learnt that when the yet-to-be-identified passenger alighted at the U-Turn junction, he observed that his money was missing and alerted the police on patrol.
The passengers in the bus were said to have been searched during which the duo were found with the money. Joseph, who confessed to the crime, said he had done several vocations, but none had fetched him money like stealing.
Joseph, a resident of Mosalasi Street in the Ojo area, added that he had worked with Joseph for three months.
He said:
“The Agbado area is the most lucrative route for this business. There are too many pickpockets on the Oshodi-Mile 2 route. I decided to choose Agbado because pickpockets are not many there.
“We usually monitored our victims coming out of banks and we would follow them into buses. Today, we were at the bus stop where the victim was, but we could not remove the money at the bus stop.
“So, Oche (Joseph) and I followed him into a bus and we began to pick the money from his pocket. The money was in N500 denomination, so it was difficult to remove the entire money at once. I started removing the money in tranches, but unfortunately for us, the passenger alighted not far from the bank.
“On most occasions, we alight before the victim and we would run away. But the man alighted before us, noticed that his money had been taken and he raised the alarm.”

The Police have apprehended the woman suspected of stealing a ring from a corpse at a Texas funeral home in an incident captured on surveillance video.
The Odessa police force on Tuesday arrested 41-year-old, Kalynn Homfeld on a charge of theft from a human corpse.Police have said the ring stolen Friday was worth about $10. It is not known if she was aware of the value of the ring.
Investigators didn’t immediately say what led them to Homfeld or whether the ring was recovered.
