Below is a press statement by CAN titled – Nigeria: A macabre dance of death
The National leadership and the entire members of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) have received with rude shock and disbelief the report of yet another religious hatred motivated gruesome murder of a dedicated 42 year old Christian mother of seven children, Mrs. Eunice Elisha, who on Saturday 9th July, 2016, was brutally killed while doing Christian evangelism.
Mrs. Eunice Elisha was murdered in Kubwa area of Abuja, FCT, in the early hours of the day. Her neck was slashed and she was also stabbed in the stomach. About a month ago in Kano, Mrs. Bridget Agbaheme, a 74 year old Christian was murdered at Wambai market due to an altercation with a Muslim man who came to the front of her shop to perform ablution. Her offence was that she objected to the Islamic washing rite in front of her shop.
Just last week a clergyman of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) Reverend Zakariya was killed by attackers suspected to be Fulani Herdsmen in Obi LGA of Nasarawa state. They attacked him on his farm, cut off his arms and legs, then they chopped his head with a machete.
Another fresh but sad news reaching us is that of the Fulani herdsmen militia that is back on rampage killing 81 people in multiple attacks in Logo and Ukum local government areas of Benue state in central Nigeria.
In recent times, there have been multiple cases of attacks by Fulani herdsmen on various Christian communities, all over the nation.
In the South East and in the South South zones, there have been gruesome attacks on IPOB members and on Christian communities in the Niger Delta. All these are in addition to the relentless attacks of Boko Haram and Fulani herdsmen in the Middle Belt and southern Borno.
The Christian Association of Nigeria commiserates with the families affected by these mindless orgies of death and destruction as well as with the entire Christian community in Nigeria.
We pray that God in His mercy shall comfort and strengthen the families of all the Nigerians affected in these unwarranted murders unleashed upon the nation by religious extremists.
The recurring decimal of violence and murder of innocent Nigerian citizens on the basis of religious intolerance demands specific and relevant response from all concerned citizens in the country more so when the government in power seems to have adopted an attitude of lukewarm response to the evils being perpetrated in Nigeria in the name of religion.
The discrimination against non-Muslims in Nigeria under the Buhari Administration is assuming a dangerous dimension that should not be left to the vagaries of time and circumstance to resolve.
You will agree with me that with these happenings and the lukewarm attitude by the authorities concern toward putting an end to it, Nigeria is dancing a macabre dance of death, both for the nation and for its citizens. It is time to stop the beat and let common sense guide the nation out of the present quagmire. A stitch in time saves nine.
Before the situation escalates into an unmanageable national crisis, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) is calling on the authorities both at the states and federal to do everything possible to bring the perpetrators to justice if the confidence of Christians on this government must be maintained.
The unprovoked attacks on Christians and the authority’s inaction is becoming unbearable and may not be tolerated anymore, inasmuch as we will continue to call on Christians to remain tolerant and law abiding, it is becoming inevitable to also call on them to buckle up and be ready to defend themselves against these incessant unprovoked and mindless attacks.
Signed…
Rev. Dr. Musa Asake
General Secretary, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN)

Family of the butchered female evangelist killed in Kubwa, Abuja, said they are awaiting the result of her autopsy before announcing the burial arrangements.
A family friend, Pastor Alabi Lawrence, spoke with Daily Sun, in Abuja, stating that the family would have commenced with the burial immediately but could not as the police had taken over the investigation and promised to carry out an autopsy.
He said until that is done, the family cannot do otherwise especially, when the body was in the custody of the police.
This is coming just as the elder brother of the preacher Prophet Ayodele Olusesan, told how he had premonition of her death.
Olusesan, told Daily Sun in that he got a revelation that something tragic was about to happen, but did not know the tragedy would befall his family.
According to him, he had a dream in which a woman’s head was cut off by assailants, and prayed and fasted for five days to avert the tragedy.
He said the most painful aspect of the death was the m manner she was butchered.
He said:
“She was stabbed in the neck, chest and legs. “Last month, I had a terrible dream in which I saw some assailants cutting off the head of a woman. In the dream, I picked up the head and chased after the men and I woke up. I prayed and God directed me to fast for five days which I did. “Though, I was very close to her, I didn’t share the dream with her, because I never thought it had to do with her. “I shared it with my church members and we prayed against such tragedy.”
Meanwhile, the FCT Commissioner of Police, Usman Alkali, has said that investigation in the matter continues. We still prayed about it during our church vigil last Friday,” he said on Monday.
The prophet who said his late sister had promised to refund the hospital bills of their 72, year old sick father, Elder Ayodele Akun, said the family was waiting for the old man’s health to improve before they can break the sad news to him.
He however said that their mother took seriously ill on hearing the news and had to be hospitalized at the General Hospital, Ilawe-Ekiti.
Olusesan, a cleric with the Christ Apostolic Church, Power of Resurrection, Ikorodu, Lagos, described Eunice as the breadwinner of the family, who she said had plans for him and other family members.
The cleric stated that he spoke with her over the telephone on Friday night, adding that he was shocked to hear about her death the next day.
He said
“There is no day I don’t talk with her on the phone; I still spoke with her around 7pm on Friday and she promised to refund any amount spent on our father who is ill and is in hospital.
“The painful aspect of the incident is that she was killed in the open, in a city like Abuja that has policemen on patrol everywhere. I heard that some policemen were saying maybe she was killed over a business dispute, but I want to say that my sister did not engage in any business deals with anyone because she shared everything about her business with me, she had no secrets.”
“If your girlfriend/boyfriend has not taken a picture with you before just make that request and stop forcing Photo Grid to bring you together.”
1. “Some women’s legs are like rumors, they just keep on spreading”
2. “It’s hard to bewitch African girls these days because each time you take a piece from her hair to the witch doctor, either a Brazilian innocent woman gets mad or a factory in China catches fire”.
3. “If you are ugly; you are ugly – stop talking about inner beauty because we don’t walk around with X-rays”.
One Rev. Fr. Chiedozie Modestus Chilaka, allegedly prayed for a dead man who was about to be buried and to the amusement and total shock of many, the dead man arose.
“Rev. Fr. Chiedozie Modestus Chilaka, prays for a dead man that was about to be buried and the God of resurrection brought the man back to life. Just as God brought back Lazarus to life. God said ” I will make haste to perform the words of my Prophet ”

This has gotta be the most hilarious story I’ve heard all day… When you have the mind to harass two ladies but you don’t have the strength to take them on in a brawl, you leave me rib cracked!
This incident is reported to have happened last Sunday, July 10th at Alagbaka, Akure, Ondo state.
According to the report, the two females were on their own, walking along the streets minding their business, when the said harasser started to follow them, asking one of them out and all.
They told the guy to bug off that they were not interested but instead of adhering to their request, he began to harass them.
The girls got vexed and took law to their own hands which led the young man into the gutter..
Federal Capital Territory Police commissioner, Alkali Usman, has revealed that six out of the eight people arrested in connection with the gruesome murder of a Redeemed Christian Church of God evangelist, Eunice Olawale in Kubwa last Saturday, have been released after investigations showed they had nothing to do with the crime.
According to him, two other suspects are being held for further interrogation.
“Intensive investigation into the matter has been launched. The deputy commissioner of police in charge of investigations is heading the investigation team. Eight arrest has been made but after screening and interrogation, we released six. Two are helping us in our investigation”he told Channels TV.

The lovely lady, who obviously is disabled got married to her beau and everyone has nothing but joy for her that a woman of her status can find love.
In one of the weird cases of the day, a Nigerian man has lamented to Joro Olumofin on how his 3 years marriage has led to incidents of physical abuses on him by his wife.
Most cases in the Nigerian setting are the other way round but in this one, the man is the victim.
This has led to suspicions of diabolism by the core Nigerians who feel a man should be in charge.

Two trains have collided head-on in southern Italy, killing at least 11 people and injuring dozens. – Guardian Reports
The crash happened on a single stretch of track running through an olive grove between the towns of Corato and Andria. Both trains were made up of four carriages.
“We are working with dozens of rescue teams to open up the carriages,” said Luca Cari, a spokesman for the fire brigade, adding they had saved a young boy from the wreckage. “The rescue is complicated because this happened in the middle of the countryside.”
Video images showed ambulances responding to the scene with other rescue workers.
The trains were travelling on a single-track line and collided at about 11.30am on a hot summer’s day in the region of Puglia.
There was no immediate reason given for the collision. “We won’t stop until we get a clear explanation over what happened,” the Italian prime minister, Matteo Renzi, told reporters, cutting short a visit to Milan to return to Rome.
A woman has shared hilarious pictures of her ‘husband-less honeymoon‘ after her new spouse was denied a visa for their holiday.
Huma Mobin and her new husband Arsalaan Sever Bhatt, from Lahore, were scheduled to go on a second honeymoon to Greece last month with Mr Bhatt’s parents.
But Ms Mobin’s husband didn’t get a visa in time for the trip. Initially the young woman didn’t want to go without her beloved, but since the entire holiday was already paid for the couple decided she should see the country.
This meant she was left to see the sights with her in-laws for 10 days at Mr Bhatt was left at home in Pakistan. In order to share the trip with Mr Bhatt, she snapped some photos of her time abroad at the destinations she visited.
Rather than smiling and enjoying herself, the young woman posed with a distraught look on her face. In most photos she also had an arm outspread as if hugging her absent husband, making for hilarious holiday snaps.

No one is happy all the time, the bad days exist and the key is not to act like they are not there, the key is to embrace them. I’m no superhero and even on my worst days I believe in the power of Godly confession. Godly Godfidence and I know tomorrow will be better #OnBecoming #onestepatatime ❤️

“About three weeks ago, my wife went to the back of my house. That morning, after preaching, she came and told me that a man in the mosque heard her and called on people to listen to what she was saying.
When she came back and told me about it, I warned her. I did that because I was a Muslim before I converted and became a Christian. I told her to be careful. I told her that although what the man in the mosque said was commendable, she needed to be careful. For about a week, she did not go out to preach because of the warning. That was about three weeks ago that I warned her. The comments made by the man in the mosque were not against her. In fact, they were commending her.”he said
Elijah said his wife was the breadwinner of his family.
“I am a pastor, and a pastor depends on what God gives to him. Sincerely speaking, my wife was the breadwinner of this home. That is the truth. She sold things to take care of the house. She was the one God used to take care of this house. In the past, I was into business. But my wife and I agreed about two years ago that I needed to face the ministry since the business was affecting it. She said I should be fasting and praying for people. She was the one who paid the school fees and took care of other things. My wife always went out early in the morning for the ‘Morning Cry,’ to preach. On that fateful morning, she went around 5.30am and I was still in bed because we had a vigil overnight. She participated for a while and slept because she was going out to preach in the morning. Two of my boys are footballers, so they went to the field to play. And when they came back, they told me that they heard some footballers saying that they butchered a woman preaching early this morning. So, when I heard this, we trekked down with the short I was putting on and we did not see anybody, but we saw blood on the ground. I asked a policeman around and he said it is true but that they had taken her to Phase 4 Police Station. I went to the station with my children and when we got there, I saw the lifeless body of my wife at the back of the police van and there, she was taken to the mortuary. The incident happened between 5am and 5:30am because she usually went out by 5am and came back by 6am. I fell down when I saw the body of my wife covered. I cried. I was too tired and could not drive back home. Someone had to drive us back to the house”he said.

Estranged wife of well known man of God, Pastor Chris Oyakilome, Anita Ebodaghe, recently talked about false prophets and insincere soul winners in an article in her blog.
She calls it “Soul Winning”. Read below:
When people talk about winning souls these days, I feel absolutely concerned for the so-called souls. It looks to me like a lion on a breakfast mission, in search for his hunt; he hides behind the grass for an unwise lamb that would wander away from the herd in search of fresh grass. This will be an easy catch and good feast for the lion’s plate.
When I hear these people talk about winning souls, I feel sorry for the souls who have no idea of what they are getting into. It sometimes sounds to me like blood-thirty people desperate to count the number of innocent, ignorant people who will give their blood to be sucked. These souls are classified, as those who are needy, can undoubtedly gullible in their search for solutions and wanting to identify or belong to a community.
These souls are caught when they are most vulnerable maybe they have lost a loved one, in a bad relationship with their parents or family, in need of healing or desperate for a change. At this point they will give anything and do anything without a second thought.
When caught by the wrong hands, they will start running in a wheel. Initially, the souls will be treated with some measure of care, so they do not detach. This will be short lived to prepare them to be trained as unconscious servants. Once the attachment is built, they would start attending endless meetings till they begin to be unavailable for their loved ones and disassociate from their families over time.
These souls will eventually give their energy away and with time they begin to feel tired, unhappy, sick, financially drained and depleted. Unknown to them, this new community and friends maybe superficial. The souls might observe that sweet and bitter method of sucking their blood has gradually robbed them of their self worth. They might realize they have given their energy to somebody else and they are now hanging in the spider’s web.
They are tied up with daily and weekly responsibilities but if you look closely, their main leader is seating in a place of convenience by handling brief monthly meetings (not weekly) or occasional gatherings.
When I hear about souls, I have sympathy for those who give their blood to be sucked. They are simply prey to be used as objects in some people’s game. Incidentally, some of these souls have become wiser in seeking the opportunity to reap the reaper in his own game, like the buffalo who challenges the tiger.
Mt 7:21-23
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’
An aggressive soul winner is hungry like a hunter; he goes with all manner of tools and uses different technique to capture his prey.
Soul winning alone will not take you to heaven; you win a soul by living the God life and your personal interest in bringing somebody to the knowledge of Christ. You have to be in a good frame of mind first, not under fear or compulsion that if you do not win souls you will go to hell. There should be no ulterior motives like getting the soul’s money eventually, you want a position or seeking to be rewarded with treats or awards.
There are people who reach out to others daily not for any earthly reward or to direct the souls to their own churches, for benefits or for any selfish reason. These people recommend and make available other authors, ministers and local assemblies for the interest of the soul alone.
Every man should learn to take care of himself first. He should learn to use his initiative and study for himself otherwise he might become somebody’s big catch or ‘meat’. At that point he would have no one to blame.
I have written this for those who have asked me questions on soul winning and their fears.
“And many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” Mat 24:11-14
“But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.” 2 Tim3:1-5
Uh-Oh! Looks like someone is pressing the P button here… Earlier this morning, we shared how fans slammed five star music singer, Harrysong, for posting this photo of himself wearing a red lip stick and make-up…
Well, looks like the singer isn’t taking it likely with his fans as he shared this on IG moments ago:
Odes were written, speeches were giving, condolences were shared but their presence at his final rites was what mattered more – after the floods of sympathetic messages that swept the pages of many Nigerian celebrities after the death of music legend, OJB, it disappointing that only few of them were present at his final burial rites.
Classic Nigerian singer, African China, has spoken to Hip TV on how shocked he was at the poor turn out of Nigerian celebrities at the final rites of OJB Jezreel.
Expressing his dismay on the motion, he said he was disappointed that artistes had to send their managers to represent them, which is not supposed to be.
Ex-governor of old, Oyo state Dr. Victor Omololu-Olunloyo on Sunday, 10th July 2016, met with the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God(RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye during the inauguration of the Region 21 church auditorium in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
Media reports have it that Dr Victor Olunloyo used the medium to apologize to Pastor Adeboye for his daughter, Kemi Omololu-Olunloyo’s verbal attacks on the social media sometimes targeted at Adeboye.
Kemi Olunloyo known for her controversial lifestyle has come out to totally deny the rumour, stating that her father did not apologise to Pastor Adeboye. According to her, Dr Victor did not say anything about her during his meeting with Pastor Adeboye.
Below is what she said:
‘Ok stop spamming my page Im aware of my father attending Adeboye’s church. Don’t u think I will be first to know? He has not stepped into a church in 35 yrs and is not religious. Pls read what he said to Punch 2013 about Adeboye’s church when defending me on my views of men or God. He simply asked Adeboye to pray for him after I saved him from his past world of ritualism his late mother and concubine introduced him to. My dad is no longer into that. I told my story in a 10 chapter documentary with emotional facts that personally freed me.
Meanwhile notice the third paragraph of the write up exactly like the FAKE Premium Times article word for word. My dad did not go to apologize to Adeboye for my factual write ups. He was there invited as one of the Oyo state dignitaries invited to the opening of the new church. The write up I read online was laughable saying Adeboye did not know what he was talking about. Ironically my brother is a Pastor in Adeboye’s London church and I was told his wife always ask why I “attack” men of God. She even says I’m welcome anytime to their church so how won’t the husband know what I’m talking about if that was true.
Lies everywhere. My dad never said a word about me in that church yesterday. Now lets wait to see pics of Obasanjo, TB Joshua and Jide Kosoko visits. You ppl aint serious. SPARE ME THE RHETORIC. #hnnreligion
Stunning Nigerian songstress, Tiwa Savage who loves to look unique when she’s having a stage performance gave us quite an outfit to stare at in a performance she had yesterday.
The singer’s had her elegant outfit designed by Deola Sagoe – while some say she over did it with her make-up and all, others still see her as that glowing ebony that she is.
