A 32-year-old visually impaired Nigerian graduate has decided to sell one of his kidneys to further his education.
A graduate of Electrical Electronics from Kaduna Polytechnic, Kamilu Suleiman, who did his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in 2014, has decided to sell one of his kidneys to further his education.
The 32-year-old visually impaired man who explained the reason for his decision, said, “Frustration is what brought the idea of my readiness to sell one of my kidneys just to get money to sponsor my education. I really want to be useful to the society. I don’t want the effort of my parents to go in vein.”
While explaining how he lost his sight, the indigene of Ilobu in Osun State, Suleiman was born and grew up in Kaduna State, stated that he was diagnosed with Glaucoma at the National Eye Centre Kaduna in 2009, but lost his sight completely in 2012 .
“I was supposed to graduate in 2012 but because of a carryover (C.O) I got in one subject, I went for my NYSC in year 2013 and finished in year 2014.
“I was posted to Plateau State but requested for redeployment back to Kaduna due to my condition. After I became completely blind I decided to live with a friend to avoid my parents seeing me in this condition because I don’t like seeing them worried.”
Suleiman said his goal is to study courses and programs that will enable him maximise his present situation. “So I’m appealing to well meaning Nigerians to help me with a job or scholarship to further my education. I have applied to various media organizations seeking for job but I didn’t hear anything positive.
“My effort to look for somebody to sponsor my Masters program didn’t yield result. I just want to further my education so as to be useful to society and help others in my condition too. My parents don’t have the money and I don’t to be a burden on them,” he said.
He explained some of the steps he has taken to seek support from influential Nigerians.
“I got a letter from Jama’atul Nasril Islam (JNI) to my governor, Rauf Aregbesola, in 2014. Another letter to Chief Imam of Yorubaland, Mustapha Ajibade, and to the Chief Imam of my home town seeking for assistance but I’m yet to hear from them.
“The letter to the governor I gave it to his personal Assistant, Alhaji Sikiru. I also spoke to Deputy Speaker House of Representatives who is from my home town, Lasun Sulaiman Yusuf, who also promised to help me but as I speak to you he has stopped picking my calls,” he said.
Suleiman said he had also sent a letter, through courier, to Shehu Sani, an activist who currently represents Kaduna Central in the Senate.
Ladies are known to naturally love flirting and this might go a long way to cause a strain in guys.
The truth is painful but must be spoken nonetheless. I’ve heard some complaints from some friends plus some of my past experiences.
Ladies, if you don’t have plans for a guy stop the following:
1. Stop calling him “sweet names” like dearie, sweetheart, honey, love etc.
We know you’re a “lovie duvie” but please, control it…don’t give him false hope. Let friends be friends NOT lovers. Unless you want to switch over, then you open up.
2. Stop visiting him on skimpy clothes and buttoned shirts
You visit a guy whose ear NL has filled with topics like ‘How ladies behave when they want to get laid”. If you don’t have plans for him, quit sending those signals. Remember: To every sequence, there is a consequence.
3. Stop getting jealous when you see him with other girls
You don’t want to marry him, yet you get jealous when he’s making headway, relationship-wise. You’re not his mother, biko. Friends sef have limits.
Many have wondered what made popular comedian Lapacious Boss to drop from size 10 to 3 from 100 to 0 real quick.. Well, the comedienne said it was what her little nephew said to her that motivated her.
We noticed you have shed more weight again, what inspired the desire?
If you have gone through my Instagram page, you would have seen where I wrote a story of how my nephew said to me that I was breathing funny. I asked him how and he said, I was breathing like somebody that was going to die. When it said it, it was scary.
He looked at me and said, ‘Please Aunty Bose, don’t die’.
I took a check and decided to ask myself some questions, Is this all there is to life? I took an inventory of my life and asked myself if I was truly happy and the answer was, No! I wrote a list of things that made me happy.
I couldn’t find much to write. I tried to write a list of things that made me unhappy and I had many things to write.
The first 10 things were tied to being fat. So, I decided it was time to make a change. I decided to take the bull by the horn and do something about it.

What’s your take about this Equality Bill?
I’m sorry I don’t think men and women should have equal rights in this case. I think the male should have more than the female, but it should be with proportion, maybe on a ration of 60 to 40.
The reason why I think so is because we women tend to be extremely domineering when it comes to issues and sometimes sentimental. Men can be detailed even though we are sometimes. So, there are proportions in all these things.
The role of a man can never be over emphasised. Even though I’m a woman rights activist, I still believe in the place of a woman and a man. The man is suppose to be a step ahead of the woman; you can never take that away.
You have been with your husband for years, but recently tied the knot legally. Why did it take you so long?
For documentation purpose, we needed to because of the necessity that was going on around bank BVN and all that, and because I run a foundation, there are a whole lot of places that I will go to, that I need to establish the fact that I am a married woman.
They don’t recognise traditional marriages abroad, you have to be legally married to your husband. And for us, we needed to document our marriage. It didn’t add or subtract anything from who we are. My husband and I have been good friends and good lovers.
We dated and we are still dating. It’s a continuous thing, its not like we don’t fight or have issues, it just makes up the fact that we understand each other as best friends and we know that each step of the way, we take it as it comes and we believe that at the end of the day, we have to make the marriage work.
Three things that fascinate you about your husband?
One, he is a highly intelligent young man. Two, he has a very wonderful heart, and three, he is very generous.
What has been the secret behind your beauty and smiles?
I express it all. If I’m annoyed with you, I bear my heart out, I don’t hold grudges against anyone. I take each day as its comes and I find happiness in whatever I’m doing. If I’m friends with you and I find your company exiting, I continue with you, its doesn’t mean that when you upset me I will hold it back. I will spell it out as it is. Also, I’m not a fanatic, but I hold so much reference to God.
How would you describe your fashion sense?
I’m a casual person, I love it simple and down to earth. I used to be a thumb-boy; when I was much younger, you will find me more i n my jeans. I’m actually not a fashion freak because I’m a contented person and I don’t hunger for what I cannot afford.
I live my life the way I can afford to. I don’t do beyond myself.
Favorite perfume, bag, shoes and all?
I’m a Gucci person. I love Elizabeth Taylor. I love to mix my perfumes.
Favorite foods and drinks?
Chinese is my favorite food and anything sweet. I love Champagne.
How do you relax?
I like to be with my family. My husband and I love to cook and read. I love to read because I always want to up my games and update myself.
If you have the chance to change anything about yourself, what would that be?
I’m not that kind of person. I believe I’m fearfully and wonderfully made. I’m beautiful the way I am, maybe I would love to be taller but any other thing, I’m perfect with it.
Words for you fans?
I just want them to keep criticising me. Because I need to be on my toes all the time. I’m not perfect. To parents, they should always support their kids in education and their dreams.

A hilarious drama played out at the headquarters of the Special Armed Robbery Squad (SARS), Lagos State Police Command, Ikeja, when a suspected armed robber, Fuwad Azeez, arrested by the police, who was said to have prepared protective charms for members of the gang against bullets and knives, vehemently refused to be used as a guinea pig to test the efficacy of the charms.
Azeez, son of a herbalist, was arrested on April 19, 2016 by policemen attached to Denton Divisional Police for carrying arms in public.
His arrest came after the leader of the gang, Kareem Idris alias Aloma, led his team members, on a successful robbery operation at Moonshine Hotel, Obalende on April 8, 2016, where they carted away valuables and money from both workers and lodgers.
Following a tip-off, the police stormed the hotel and caught seven of them while three others escaped. In the course of interrogation, at the SARS office, Kareem Idris allegedly recounted how members of the gang met on a football field with Azeez.
They told him to prepare protection charms for each member of the gang. Fuwad, 22, a native of Iseyin, Oyo State, was said to have learnt the art of black magic from his father.
He promised to do a good job if they would allow him join the gang. Having secured their approval, Fuwad made charms for protection for every one of them against cutlasses, bullets, bottles and other dangerous weapons.
However, the drama played out when Sunday Sun asked which member of the gang would like to test the potency of the charm against a gunshot or a machete cut.
All seven of them, including Fuwad, who prepared the charm vehemently refused to be a guinea pig for the purpose of testing the efficacy of the charm.
Kareem also said they had been stealing items like phones, laptops and other valuables for a long time, which they later sold.
Meanwhile, Ramon Sanusi, who is a foot soldier of the Eiye Confraternity and an indigene of Ogun State who said that he started stealing in 2012, revealed that through the money he got from robbery operations, he had purchased four guns.
As at the time of their arrest, the gang members were caught with one locally made pistol, two live cartridges and some of the charms made by the gang member.
However, investigations are ongoing while efforts have been doubled to track down the other members of the gang still at large.

The General Superintendent of Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor W.F Kumuyi has warned his members that hell will be hotter than normal for them.
In his sermon, the father of two sons made it known that Deeper Life members have heard enough of God’s word and opportunity to repent, therefore, those who eventually do not make it to heaven will have the hottest part of Hell Fire reserved for them.
This, he emphasized while preaching the sermon; “Heaven’s Response to Earth’s Request,” in Lagos.
“Hell will be hotter for Deeper Life sinners because they know the truth and do not do them. Turn away from your secret sins; I don’t know how you can be in a church like this and there is fornication, adultery, lying and others in your hand.
All your work in the church will be useless if you don’t repent of your sins. You need to run away from your sins and run unto Jesus. If you say you have repented, you will not continue to spend stolen money. You need to restore all the stolen money if the repentance is genuine.”
Kumuyi added that members of the church who steal the church’s money and also steal from the government had not truly repented, warning that unless they truly repent and returned such money, they would go to hell,” he said.
Hear the preacher especially if you are a church member. It’s either you repent or change churches so that you can have the regular temperature with other people and not the special reservation.
ISIS have allegedly killed 45 of their own fighters by locking them inside a forensic freezer after they attempted to flee during a battle in Iraq.
According to Daily Mirror, the staggering claims were made by the Iraqi media agency Al Sumaria News, who reported that the victims were shut in the freezers for a whole day.
After their agonising deaths, the bodies of the victims were allegedly stretched out along the sides of the road to act as a warning to any other ISIS defectors.

Below is an awesome testimony from Pastor Ifeanyi Obi, who recently bagged a PhD after he was told that he will never do well academically in this life.
#MyTestimony
“When I was 8 years old, a Prophet came to my house and after prayers took a look at me and said I will never do well academically and when its time my parents should send me to learn trade. I wept that night because I knew the Vision I saw of myself. My sister Chinyere came to me and said Nna you can be whatever you want to be; I believed her. TODAY I am a graduate of Architecture with Masters and Doctorate(PhD) degree in the same field, which I graduated in both with First Class High Honours. Today am one of the youngest PhD holders in Architectural Construction Technology from Nigeria, maybe the youngest and the only one as I was told. Friends believe in yourself and know you can turn around any negative Prophecy over your life by keying into your Vision. I did it by God’s Grace and I know you can.#MyBirthDayTestimony. The view from the veranda of house No 5, Olalekan Adeoya Street, Off Liasu Road, Ikotun area of Lagos is one that is likely to send shivers down the spine of whoever knew what took place on April 15, 2016 right in front of the building.
Anyone standing on the veranda of the top floor apartment of the Megwa family will be looking directly at the exact spot where 23-year-old twins Elvis and Lewis Megwa were both stabbed.
That is one spot their father, who is in his early 60s, has not been strong enough to direct his sight, days after he lost one of his sons in a tragic attack that put the one who survived in intensive care.
When our correspondent visited the family on Wednesday, the grief-stricken Mr. Emmanuel Megwa shook his friend as he delved into the seemingly harmless confrontation, which degenerated to a brutal attack on his family.
Mr. Megwa, who spoke in an emotion-laden low tone, explained that on that night which turned out to be the worst day of his life, a girl living with him had gone out to buy something in a kiosk which doubles as the security post and petty trading store used by the security guard employed to man the street gate in front of the Megwas’ house.
He said, “My boys – the twins – were standing on the veranda watching the goings on on the street and at the girl walking out of the house around 10.30pm.
“When the girl got to the guard’s kiosk, about three boys, who were standing around the area, started harassing and groping her. She raised the alarm and I had to rush downstairs to challenge the boys, just to make them stop.
“As I rushed downstairs, one of my twin boys followed me. I opened the gate and noticed that the boys were still standing by. I asked them simply why they were harassing the girl and one of them challenged me for asking them such question.
“They started charging towards us, becoming aggressive, so, I pushed my son back. As he was trying to move back, he fell and got up again. At that point, his brother had come downstairs to ask what was happening.”
Late Elvis Megwa
Punch learnt that while this ruckus went on, some of the friends of the three young men came to the scene. Some of them were said to have raced to a nearby bear parlour and picked bottles of beer, which they brought to the scene, ready to do battle with their weapons.
Mr. Megwa told our correspondent that as soon as he saw the men racing out of the street gate in an aggressive manner, he shouted to the street’s gateman to lock the gate, which he failed to do.
Unfortunately, the men came back armed with broken bottles.
“As we retreated, they seemed to be surrounding us and before I knew what was happening, the girl living with me screamed. She shouted that Elvis had been stabbed. At that point, I rushed to my son, who was already bleeding heavily from his neck. Lewis was also stabbed in the shoulder and stomach.
“The girl removed her wrapper and used it to cauterise the gushing blood. I also removed my singlet and added it to it. I was just concerned about the welfare of my children. Even the girl sustained minor stab injury in her stomach.”
Saturday Punch learnt that both Elvis and Lewis were rushed to a nearby hospital where Elvis was pronounced dead.
As of the time of filing this report, Lewis had not been informed that his twin brother was dead.
Mr. Megwa dabbed at his eyes as he started another round of sobbing when he told our correspondent how Lewis asked everybody who visited him in his hospital about his twin.
“Everybody keeps telling him that Lewis is fine and that he would see him soon,” he said.
For the Megwa family, losing such a promising young man at such an age and in such a tragic circumstance is not the only cause of their sorrow.
It was learnt that Elvis was studying Mass Communication at the National Open University.
“The twins are my inspiration. They are so focused that they always told me not to worry that through their own businesses, they would be able to pay their own school fees. They are very entrepreneurial. The only reason they enrolled at the Open University was to be able to undertake their own business,” the grieving father said.
Saturday Punch learnt that the twins were stabbed by one Alex Onuora, who has since fled though the police at the Ikotun division have taken into custody members of his family. Some other suspects involved in the attack have also been arrested.
The deceased’s family explained that the security man who failed to lock the gate of the street during the attack had gone into hiding. They said even though the security rule of the street was that he should have locked the gate by 10pm, he failed to do this, allowing the hoodlums’ incursion into the scene of the attack.
The area where the twins were stabbed had been largely peaceful without the terror of hoodlums until that day.
Mr. Megwa said how such a disagreement could degenerate to the point of such a brutal attack was still a mystery to him.
When Punch visited the home of the Megwas, the sobbing mother of the twins was being consoled by a hoard of women who surrounded her in a room.
The police spokesperson, Dolapo Badmus, who confirmed the case said the police are still on the trail of the principal suspect in the case.
She said investigation was still ongoing as the police already have in custody some suspects who have vital information about what happened that day.

The Lagos Police PRO, Dolapo Badmos, has explained that when the police commissioner, Fatai Owoseni called the duo, Wizkid denied he really wanted to harm Linda.
She said Wizkid explained that his statement that he would send his 16-year-old cousin to beat up Linda, was written out of anger and emotion and there was nothing else to it.
Badmos said although the allegation was criminal in nature, it was resolved through Alternative Dispute resolution ( ADR ). She said when the police invited the parties, they agreed to resolve the matter out of court after Wizkid said he did not mean to threaten her life, rather it was an emotional outburst, with no motive to harm her.
She said the decision to resolve the matter was not because of their status in the society but due to genuine commitment by the parties to resolve the matter.
She explained that ADR is a standard practice in the world applied to resolve crises due to the high rate of conflict all over the world
