On Monday in Rivers State, a former hair dresser, Blessing Etoor, defied doctor’s instruction that she would be delivered of her babies by Cesarean section, by giving birth to a set triplets around 1am on Monday at home through the natural means.
She and her husband, John Etoor, now have 10 children (six girls and four boys). And according to Punch, people have been visiting the one-bedroom apartment of the Etoors on hearing how the woman from Ekiti State shunned doctor’s directive and gave birth to triplets at home.
Her husband recalled that he had kicked against the Cesarean section written on her card by the doctor at the General Hospital, Nchia, because none of his wife’s family had the history of undergoing such a method of giving birth.
He called for financial support from government and public-spirited individuals.
Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi will today wed his new bride, Wuraola Otiti Zynab Obanor, an architect based in Dubai, UAE from Benin, Edo state.
It’s being attended by first class kings, political juggernauts, business titans and high-octane socialites from near and far. Photos below show the arrival of His Imperial Majesty’s Royal entourage in Benin for the wedding ceremony.
The traditional wedding is expected to kick off at noon at the Edo Hotel, Okada Drive, GRA Benin City, Edo State. A thanksgiving ceremony of the traditional union will hold tomorrow at the Royal Court of Ife, Aafin, Enuwa Square in Ile-Ife, Osun State.
The choice of Benin for the first part of the wedding is because the new Olori has Benin roots and is also from Ile-Ife.
Oba Enitan Ogunwusi is a young monarch in his early 40s and stupendously rich. Tradition supports this marriage and there is likelihood of the Ooni marrying more as he progresses in his reign.
It should be noted that Obas, generally, are not restricted to one wife.

I have no qualms seeing a young man who committed a crime pay for that crime. Life is sad, before Richard came along, you could not dream of buying a house in LEKKI for 20million naira, his dream was to make choice housing affordable and available. Somewhere down the line mistakes were made and lives were lost! And yes I agree…… Someone must pay!
Now my questions;Why is he in handcuffs and remanded in prison when that ‘prophet’ whose building collapsed and killed more people than Ebola, Lassa fever and this alleged ‘LEKKI gardens’ put together is walking free??? Why is that prophet not in handcuffs too??? It was even alleged, that he didn’t show up in court the last time the courts sat. Is this true??? If it is true, then why is Richard ‘remanded’ in prison while Mr prophet ‘comes from home’??? Is there a special court for ‘prophets’ or do we have special ‘laws’ for them???
Is our government afraid of prophets???
Are the people who lost their lives in the Church less valuable than the people who lost their lives in the LEKKI Gardens saga?
My humble advice: Richard should be released to go home and attend hearings from home like the ‘prophet’. Or the ‘prophet’ should be picked up, handcuffed and locked in the same cell with Richard while he attends trial!

A young student has decided to end his life after he failed the recently conducted UTME results.
The unidentified young man could not live with the fact that he could not not make the cut off marks in the examinations and felt the only way out is to end it all.
This is how a source in the know captured the ugly scenario:
“A student has allegedly killed himself over the issue of his UTME. This boy claims to be writing his UTME for the first time and reportedly scored 159 which gives him no chances of admission.
Officials should find something to do to this failure before it gets out of hand.”

The Central Bank of Nigeria last night revealed what really happened during the gas explosion at their Calabar, Cross River state branch.
Two persons, a staff and a construction worker died from the critical injuries sustained in the explosion.
Isaac Okoroafor, acting corporate affairs director of the bank gave the update.
He said:
“The fire, which broke out at about 12 noon in the banking hall of the premises, was apparently caused by a gas explosion from the air conditioners in the building which was undergoing some refurbishment at the moment.
As soon as the incident occurred, the CBN emergency alert system was activated, the Fire Service was called in, and the fire was immediately brought under control.
Following the explosion and fire, about twenty five (25) persons sustained various levels of injury, and are currently receiving treatment at hospitals in Calabar. Four of the injured have been discharged.
We are, however, very saddened to confirm that two of the critically injured, a CBN staff and a construction worker, have died at the hospital. We are now working with the bereaved families to determine next steps”, Okoroafor said.
The police had given a lower figure of 20 persons being injured, two of them in critical conditions.
The Commissioner of Police in Cross River, Mr Henry Fadairo said that the explosion, which caused panic in the state capital, was not a bomb blast as speculated.

According to PUNCH reports, 31-year-old Ekanem Ikot has been accused of killing his 27-year-old girlfriend, Edith Owei in a hotel in Minna, Niger State.
PUNCH reports that Owei, a graduate of Ambrose Alli University, told her parents that she was travelling to the school to collect her NYSC call-up letter. The family got worried when she didn’t show up days later and her phone was unreachable. Later, Owei’s sister Felicia received a text message from the boyfriend who confessed to the killing and revealed the location where the corpse was.
The family alerted the police who reached out to a Niger State division, and confirmed the murder to be true. Insider sources told PUNCH that Ikot and Owei had been dating for six month, that he lured her to the hotel in Niger after he found out that he has gonorrhea infection.
The victim’s body has been deposited at the Federal Medical Centre Hospital in Asaba. When reached for comment, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Celestina Kalu, said she had yet to be briefed on the case.

Diamond Platnumz welcomed Latifah on August 6, 2015 with his baby mama, Zari Hassan. As a result of pressure from the fans and critics who felt the child was not Diamond’s, he had to bow to the pressures, he decided to go for the test which was conducted on both parents and the child.
In a recent interview with Citizen TV, the singer said he was tearfully happy when the DNA test proved he was the real father of the child.
