Earlier today, Police authorities officially handed over abducted 14-year-old girl Ese Oruru to her mother in Abuja after she was rescued by the police from Kano on Monday.

However, the Nation is reporting that journalists were banned from witnessing Ese’s reunion with her mother for unclear reasons.

The reunion was conducted by Force Spokesperson, Kolawale Olabisi at the police headquarters in Abuja. Ms Kolawole addressed the media while Ese’s mother Mrs Rose Oruru thanked the Press, Police, Nigerians for their intervention.

Ese, who will be returning to Bayelsa today with her mum, has insisted that she wants to remain with her alleged abductor in Kano. However, her father Mr Charles Oruru has disclosed that he has concluded plans to seek spiritual assistance from Lagos cleric, Pastor T.B. Joshua, founder of The Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN).

Meanwhile, her alleged abductor, Yinusa Yellow, is to be prosecuted even though he denies taking Ese against her will.

Police authorities in Abuja yesterday night said Ese Rita Oruru, freed Monday, will now be officially handed over to her mother, Mrs. Oruru, today.

14-year-old Ese was brought to Police headquarters at Louis Edet House at about 12. 55pm amid tight police protection.

Her dad, Charles Oruru, however disclosed that he has concluded plans to seek spiritual assistance from Lagos cleric, Pastor T.B. Joshua, founder of The Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN).

Ese would have been handed over to her mother yesterday, but she was unable to arrive Abuja by 8.00p.m. last night because she travelled from Yenagoa, Bayelsa State by road.

Also arrested and brought to Abuja by a Special Police team from Zone 1 headquarters, Kano, led by an Assistant Commissioner of Police, was the abductor, Yunusa, a.k.a Yellow.

Both the abductor and the abductee were escorted by three representatives of the Emir of Kano to brief the police authorities about the roles the Emir and Kano Emirate Council played in getting Ese released.

At exactly 1.25pm, the Force Public Relations Officer was seen leading the freed Ese Oruru to the office of the Inspector General of Police for further briefing.

Attempts by newsmen to talk with Ese were rebuffed as the FPRO assured that as soon as Ese’s mother, who was being expected from Bayelsa arrived, the Police will brief the media on the matter.

Recall that Ese was abducted by Yinusa, from her mother’s shop in Yenagoa LGA on August 12, 2015, and whisked away to Kano without the consent of her parents.

She was rescued Monday night, following a directive by the Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, to the Commissioner of Police, Kano State, Mohammed Katsina, to liaise with the state’s Emirate Council and relevant persons in the state.

Baby Hope has been discharged from hospital after Anja Ringgren Lovén, rescued him through her foundation, African Children’s Aid Education and Development Foundation ( ACAEDF).

Lovén who’s from Denmark, has been resident in Nigeria for 4-years. Rescuing and rehabilitating children from the worst cases of abuse.

She rescues and takes care of kids abandoned by their own families for being witches.

In this little boy’s case, she found him abandoned and malnourished. Adopted him and named him Hope.

She checked him into a hospital after rescuing him in January and yesterday, he was declared hale and hearty to go home.

A happy Lovén took to her Facebook page to announce the good news saying:

“Finally finally finally !!!! Today Hope was discharged from the hospital !! The children have been so excited all day! My son David Jr. and I are now back in Denmark because tomorrow I will start my tour around the country.

“And oh how I wish I was there today. Looking at these pictures of the children playing with Hope makes me totally speechless. Our dream came true! Can you imagine! This is what humanity is all about! Children see magic because they look for it and now Hope has finally found his magic.”

Last week, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos, Prof Rahamon Bello announced at a press briefing that Daniel Dada Ayodele, a graduate of Psychology, had become the first UNILAG student to graduate with a 5.0 CGPA, and yesterday, the star stole all attention at the University’s 2014/2015 Convocation ceremony.

PUNCH reports that the school’s top academics showered the Ekiti State-born graduate with praises, and they include Prof. Jerry Gana; Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Rahamon Bello, and the President of the institution’s alumni association, Dr. Sunny Kuku.

While eulogizing Dada, Dr Sunny Kuku pledged to give him N500, 000 on behalf of the alumni association. Other graduating students hailed Dada, called him a ‘genius’, an accolade he refused to accept.

“I do not have to be a genius to get the results of a genius,” Dada said. “I believe every one can achieve whatever they want to achieve in life. The best way to serve God is through excellence in whatever we do,” he said.

“However, we all cannot be doctors, engineers, pharmacists, among others. So to my colleagues, I urge them to remain steadfast in their various undertakings in life.”

And Dada received other prizes at the convocation ceremony which include the Vice-Chancellor’s Prize, Dean’s Prize, UNILAG Parent Forum Prize, Tony Elumelu Legacy Prize, the UNILAG Alumni Association Prize, the late Eni Njoku Academic Prize, Prof. Tolu Odugbemi Prize and the late Prof. Adetokunbo Sofoluwe Prize.

Two robbery suspects were arrested by operatives of the Lagos State Police Command on Monday. They have been identified as Abdullahi Isiaka and one Abel.

The duo, it was learnt used to be members of a four-man gang including Governor and Brigadier, who have since been arrested.

They were nabbed around Ijora-Badia in Lagos on Monday morning, while they were going for an operation on their motorcycle.

Unfortunately for them, policemen were raiding motorcycles flouting traffic laws in that axis, leading to their arrest and the recovery of a gun from them.

According to the police, Isiaka usually pleasured himself by fondling the bre*sts of his female victims before dispossessing them of their valuables. He was said to have confessed that caressing the breasts of his female victims before robbing them made him very happy.

The suspects, it was gathered, are currently in the custody of operatives of the Federal Anti-Robbery Sqaud ( FSARS), where they are revealing more about their mode of operation.

It was learnt that they usually slept near the railway and during work rush hours, waylay their victims, mostly lone walkers, who they trap in their midst and do all sorts to women.
