Newly appointed Super Eagles Coach, Sunday Oliseh has addressed the issue of ‘The Exclusion of Mikel Obi’s name from the list of players invited for the forthcoming 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Tanzania’.
When He was Asked why Mikel was left out of his list, Oliseh said he called Mikel several times but he never responded or called him back.
“I went to England on a Thursday and Chelsea was just coming back. We had fixed our visit to coincide with the end of their tour before they played Arsenal. I contacted Obi Mikel, called him on several occasions with no reply; sent him an SMS with no reply, went to London where he plays in the same club with Victor Moses.
I called Moses, the phone rang three times and he picked it up and I spoke with him. Moses came to the meeting but he (Mikel) didn’t come.”
I left to Liverpool to meet the other player and I spent about six hours to go there and back but there was no response from Mikel until I returned here. Till now I have not spoken with Mikel. I think it was yesterday (Wednesday) that I saw a missed call, so at the moment I don’t know what the situation is.

Actress, Tonto Dikeh-Churchill In an interview with Channels TV, said she has been married longer than people think.
“I have been for a very long time.. Just that I kept the secret to myself..and trying to enjoy married life..yea it just came out like 2-3 days ago.One mistake we do is having this very loud announcement on when you have been engaged and everything and its only normal that the media helps you destroy your marriage before you even get into your home. So,privacy is key in my marriage” – she said
Wen asked how being married has influenced her person, Tonto said:
“It has changed me a lot I could say. It has. It has changed my perspective of life. It has changed the way I think. For once, it has made me a very happy woman, something that i never used to have. Happiness is everything. If you are not happy, you can never be satisfied with what you have or you can never appreciate all the people. I think it has opened my eyes to be able appreciate people despite the fact that they are who they are. I thank God” – she said
On the perception that she is very controversial, Tonto said
“I am a very straightforward person. I am like a book. I am just very open. I think the controversial part of me is something that the media has put upon me. It’s just unfortunate that sometimes I help them play that role because of anger. I get so angry sometimes and I help them play that role. But never again. I have leanrt a lot. Like I said before what marriage has done for me. Marriage has changed my perspective. Now, no body can push me to being controversial anymore this interview with re .Sometimes, I handled it really badly ,and sometimes handle it really good. I will say badly because I responded to negativity and that only just gave an approval that she is a controversial person But I am actually a very sweet loving and godly person.’Controversy is actually very far from me. I wouldn”t say that I have not experienced controversy from a very early age. I have. Even in secondary school when everybody thought I was the bad girl meanwhile I was the only virgin out of my school .Although I just like to hang around men rather than female and they just have this idea in their head. In the letter he said the incident was caused because of a “breakdown in communication.” He also wrote that he accepts full responsibility for what happened.

Just like I said, everything concerning that is my private life, and I want to keep it private.

Nobody will ever want his or her home to collapse. So, why will I see that and still go into it.
How do you feel about the whole situation?
No one will be happy when one is heart broken or one has a broken home. I don’t like dwelling on the past or crying over spilled milk. What concerns me most is focusing on my future and whatever it is I need to do at the moment.

Alanna Allen, is an ambitious woman who is crazy in love with her job and she would do anything to keep or make it progress as swiftly as possible. As manager of five hairdressing salons in Surrey, the 29 year old has worked her way up and now heads a team of ten stylists. She is said to be one of the UK’s top colourists.
To remain at the very top of her game, she’s also made a drastic some might say alarming – decision. Like a growing number of women, she uses hormones, intended as contraception, to switch off her monthly periods and stop them disrupting her career.
She tells Daily Mail
‘I’ve not had a period for seven years now, and I’ve never looked back,’ The best thing for me is the convenience. When you’re with a client, you want to focus entirely on them.’Stopping my periods has allowed me to ‘man up’ and get on with things. I’m not only in charge of my own staff but I oversee the managers of our other salons and I have very little sympathy for any of the young female apprentices who say they are suffering from period pains. There’s no need for any woman to have to put up with that.’
But a generation of young women like Alanna are refusing to let their periods damage their prospects:
‘I started taking the Pill in my early 20s, but found it irritating having to remember to take it at the same time every day. I’d still get a bleed, backaches and cramps which isn’t convenient when you’re a hairdresser and on your feet all day. I’d take painkillers and would sometimes need days off. Not exactly ideal when you want to get on with your career.
‘Friends had mentioned the injection and I thought I’d give it a whirl. Although I put on a bit of weight and suffered a few minor headaches, my periods stopped. It makes my job so much easier. Now, if any of the women in my salon start complaining about period pains, I recommend the injection to them.’
Apparently, one may think this is some kind of comedy or prank, but no it isn’t; It is real and it happened at Rufus Giwa Polytechnic in Owo, Ondo state.
On her wedding day, Oluwatunmise Adejube, a student of Department of Accountancy, hurriedly left the Owo local government area, where she swore matrimonial oath, and rushed to the school to write an exam.
The Nation reports that the new wife was accompanied by a group of young ladies, who formed her bridal train. They stormed the school in a convoy of three exotic cars.

Before invigilators understood what was happening, the tension-soaked atmosphere became relaxed as the sudden appearance of the bride elicited laughter from the stressed students, who prepared to write a difficult paper.
An hour later, Oluwatunmise was on her way from the examination hall to reception, where her husband and guests were waiting for her.
An invigilator, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that Oluwatumise was allowed to write the paper despite her lateness for the exam. He also praised the girl for her determination not to be carried away by the euphoria of the wedding.
Speaking with reporters after writing the paper, Oluwatumise stressed that her education was as important to her as her marriage.
“When the wedding date was fixed some months ago, nobody knew it would clash with my second semester examination. What appears to be a saving grace for me is that, both the wedding and examination are taking place in the same town. If otherwise, I would have missed the three-unit paper and carry it automatically,” she said.
The groom, Mr Adesina, said that he was shocked and stumped when his bride told him the examination timetable clashed with the wedding.
“I really praised her dogged determination. It was like a tug of war because she had to prepare for her exam and ran around for the wedding at the same time. Now that the confusion is over, I give thanks to God for making it easy for us,” he said.

Presidential aides ofMuhammed Buhari, yesterday 19th of August, 2015, cautioned against dragging the name of Buhari into the controversy of how a leader of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), Ahmed Al-Assir, got a Nigerian visa.
Presidential spokesman, Mallam Garba Shehu, said yesterday that it was mischievous to drag the person of President Muhammadu Buhari into how the ISIS chief secured the visa.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has called for a full report on the case and it is investigating it.But it is mischievous for anyone to attempt to drag the person of President Muhammadu Buhari into the incident. The Buhari administration had nothing to do with the suspect or the supposed visit of the ISIS chief.
“Without prejudice to the ongoing investigation, it should be noted that Nigerian missions are to serve, they can adjudge an applicant for visa on the basis of documents presented to the Embassy. What is hidden in their heart, you will not know

2 Indian brothers decapitated their teenage sister and paraded her severed head through their village because they disapproved of her ‘romantic relationship’ with one of their cousins.
Several people watched in horror as Phool Jehan, 17, was dragged out of her house, severely beaten and beheaded by her 2 brothers this past Monday. They however, did not tell the police what had happened.
The crime was only later reported by a local security guard, one officer explained.
According to Indian Times, Police have been unable to find the two brothers, named Nanhe and Gul Hasan, whose ages are not known. After killing their sister, they left her body on the street as they roamed around the north-Indian village with her head.
According to reports, they shouted: ‘This is what happens as punishment for having an affair.’
Honour killings are common across India, but such brutal slayings are extremely rare. While the brothers are on the run, police have detained Jehan’s cousin to question him, said another police officer.

A woman calmly called 911 to report her baby son wasn’t breathing on Tuesday and then hours later confessed to killing him and her two other young sons over the past several months because her husband ignored their daughter, authorities said.
Brittany Pilkington was charged with three counts of murder and was jailed, said police in Columbus.
Pilkington is accused in Tuesday’s death of 3-month-old Noah and in the deaths of 4-year-old Gavin, who died in April, and 3-month-old Niall, who died in July 2014. No working telephone number for the family’s home could be found, and no attorney information was available for the mother.
Police said officers went to the family’s apartment on Tuesday morning after an emergency call from the mother saying Noah wasn’t breathing. They said she calmly answered a dispatcher’s questions while the baby’s sleep apnea alarm beeped in the background. The baby was pronounced dead at a hospital.
Logan County prosecutor William Goslee said he interviewed Brittany Pilkington and she confessed to killing each of her sons by placing a blanket over his head and suffocating him.
“In her mind,” Goslee said, “she was protecting her daughter from being not as loved as the boys were by their father.”
The daughter, 3-year-old Hailey, was taken into custody by a county child welfare agency.
Authorities already were investigating what happened to Niall and Gavin, whose causes of death haven’t been determined. In each of those cases, their father, Joseph Pilkington, found them unresponsive when he got home from work.
“Our son’s not breathing,” Brittany Pilkington said meekly to a dispatcher when she called police on April 6 as her husband frantically gave Gavin chest compressions. “He’s turning white.”
Joseph and Brittany Pilkington were cooperative on Tuesday, police said. She eventually told detectives that she killed all three boys, police said.
“The tragic deaths of Niall, Gavin and Noah leave a pit in our stomachs today,” police Chief Brandon K. Standley said in a statement. “Our condolences go out to the remaining family members who have supported this family through a very difficult 13 months.”
Brittany Pilkington’s uncle Joe Skaggs said Hailey and Noah had been with Logan County Children’s Services after Gavin’s death and were returned to their parents this month.
“Why would you give them back after a little boy just died and when you’re in the middle of an investigation?” Skaggs, standing in front of his niece’s apartment, told the Dispatch.
Goslee, the prosecutor, said Hailey and Noah were given back to their parents after a coroner determined Gavin’s and Niall’s deaths weren’t suspicious.
The Pilkingtons’ neighbor James Breaston was home, across the hall from the family, when Gavin died in April. He remembered consoling a distraught Joseph Pilkington but finding Brittany Pilkington unperturbed.
“He was crying, the tears were rolling, and she was just cold,” Breaston told the Dispatch. “She just stared like nothing happened.”
He said that when saw police arrive on Tuesday morning he thought, “Oh, there’s another baby dead.”
His friends brought him to Davido’s attention last week.

A suspected member of a syndicate vandalizing pipelines of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Jamiu Ajani, said yesterday, Wednesday, 19th of August, 2015, that he did not know selling petrol obtained from the act amounted to crime.
Ajani was arrested alongside his accomplices, Demola Lawrence and Raymond, by operatives of the Inspector General of Police Special Task Force on Pipeline Vandalism, which recovered 300 units of 50-litre jerry cans loaded with premium motor spirit, PMS, from them.

“I used to sell building materials at Ketu before venturing into this business. It was some of my customers from Ikorodu that got me into the business.I discovered that they were making more money than I. So I begged them to show me the way. They said I could not go into the creeks because I do not know how to swim, but I could always buy and sell the products to people who need it.
“I was introduced to some buyers at Ijora and some other parts of Lagos State. I buy a 50-litre jerry can for N2,000 and I sell it for N4,000.“On my first job one month ago, I bought 250 50-litre jerry cans for N500,000 from an Ijaw woman, known as Mama Bose, and I sold them for N1,000,000.
“The second job was just last week and I bought 150 jerry cans of 50 litres for N300,000. My biggest job was the one that led to my arrest. I bought 300 jerry cans from Mama Bose for N600,000 and I was hoping to make a profit of over N600,000.
“My boy, Damilola, the driver of the truck we were using and I were intercepted by police on our way to supply the products to a buyer. I did not know selling petrol from vandalised pipelines was a crime.”
The syndicate was intercepted by the task force at Owode area of Ikorodu in a Chevrolet truck, while transporting the stolen products to buyers in various parts of Lagos State.

The authorities of the University of Ilorin reportedly prevented 35 candidates, mostly female from taking part in the post- UTME screening over indecent dressing.
It was gathered that the candidates had assembled at the centre designated for the computer based (CBT) test at the permanent site of the University when officials in charge of the test turned them back on account of their dressing considered not decent enough.
The authorities of the University, had in an advertorial before the commencement of the test, set guidelines for prospective candidates, one of which compels candidates to dress decently to the examination venue.
It was learnt that the pleas by the candidates were turned down in line with the varsity’s zero tolerance for indecent dressing and other anti-social conducts.
With the development, the affected candidates may have automatically forfeited their chances of writing the crucial examination, which allows them admittance into the University.
When contacted, Deputy Director of Corporate Affairs of the University, Mr. Kunle Akogun, said he was not aware of the development, but added that “it is possible”, because of the war against indecent dressing on the campus.
Meanwhile, the bus terminus on the University campus was filled with passengers, mostly post- UTME candidates scrambling to board few taxi-cabs that were on ground.
It was gathered that the commercial drivers shuttling between Unilorin Main Campus and Tanke Tipper Garage, took advantage of the moment to exploit the candidates.

Kcee and E-Money led recording company, Five Star Music has fired its General Manager, Soso Soberekon following an alleged publicity stunt by him involving its artiste, Skiibii last week.
The manager, Soso spoke to the press and media stating Skiibii had died and also took to his Instagram page to share a photo of a lighted candle. He also released a mediocre statement stating it was a miscommunication.
Kcee and Skiibii were on radio on Wednesday, August 19th where he was interviewed by Do2dtun of Cool FM.
When asked: “If you’re to blame anyone for this whole mess, who would you blame for this”
Kcee and Harrysong said Soso, while Skiibii said: “If My Family Catch Soso”
