Many have now deleted the posts that misinformed many and caused an ill-advised PR stunt to go viral.
Fans are still upset with Five Star Music over what many consider a badly-thought publicity stunt.
The Nigerian Customs Service (NCS), Federal Operation Unit Zone C, on Saturday destroyed 600 cartons of smuggled frozen turkey and chicken in Benin, Edo State.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the NCS Comptroller of the zone, Mr Victor Dimka said the items were seized on Friday, Aug. 14, 2015, along the Benin-Ekiadolor road in Edo State.
“The duty paid value (DPV) of the items are N5.76 million and the items were destroyed at customs house destruction site, in compliance with Federal Government policy on importation of frozen products (chicken and turkey),” Dimka was quoted to have said.
The federal government had banned the importation of frozen chicken and turkey in 2003, but with little or no enforcement since then, the products were still available in Nigerian markets. However, the NCS has resumed enforcement in recent months.

“Now what does the law require?
The law requires public officers to declare their assets; he has done that. But his party has a document that says he would do it publicly.“There is a procedure for that, and the procedure is that you first declare, code of conduct (bureau) would verify and after that, if you want to make it public, the onus lies on you to say release. The procedure has to be followed.He has declared, and it is deposited with the code of conduct bureau and they need to verify. Let’s come to that time when code of conduct would say we have completed verification.”
Counter to his statement, it will be recalled that during the 2015 electioneering campaign, President Buhari is quoted to have openly promised to declare his assets publicly within the first 100 days of his administration.
“I believe if Nigeria does not kill corruption; corruption will kill Nigeria. I pledge to: Publicly declare my assets and liabilities and encourage my political appointees to also publicly declare their assets and liabilities,”

A distance learning student of the University of Ibadan slumped at the Adebayo Akande e-Centre, Ikeja, Lagos, after waiting for hours to write the examination.
The 100 level student of political science, identified as Pelewura Bolaji, was said to have written the first paper for the day before the incident happened.
An official of the school, who identified himself as Mr. Olayinka Kehinde, said he was the only UI official at the centre to supervise the examination. He said the matter had been reported to the school authorities and he was awaiting further directive concerning the examination.
It was discovered that while the body of the student was lying down in a car within the premises, examination was still going on.
One of the examiners confirmed that there was an instruction that the examination should continue.
A student, who simply identified himself as Tony, said, “The management of the centre had earlier told us that the examination might not hold successfully in Lagos due to some challenges and that they subsequently notified the authorities.”
Some of the students alleged that they were made to pay medical fees, but expressed concern that the management failed to put in place necessary medical facilities in case of emergency.
The victim was later confirmed dead at the Lagoon Hospital, Ikeja.
Tim Young and Paul Hullings (pictured above) from New Jersey are hearty firefighters that live for their work. They once worked tirelessly for 12 hours to clear out a fire.
After which, being completely exhausted, they went to a diner around 6 am to request the strongest cup of coffee the diner could muster.
Their waitress that day was Liz Woodward and she just happened to overhear the two firefighters discussing their tiresome battle. Eventually, when Tim and Paul went to pay, they were quite surprised. Instead of their bill, they were given this message. (Pictured Below):

As Tim and Paul read this message, their eyes fill up with tears. They thank the kind waitress for her warm gesture. Then Tim went on Facebook to recount the event :
“Such a selfless and kind act. I definitely urge my friends to make a trip out and support the business, and if Liz happens to be your waitress, tip big.
But the story doesn’t end there! The firefighter was told by someone on the Facebook post that Liz’s father, Steve, is quadriplegic and has been paralyzed for 5 years and that Liz set up a donation page a few months earlier to fund a wheelchair accessible vehicle so that she can take her father places.
Tim then urged people on Facebook and his colleagues to donate to Liz’s crowd-fund : “Turns out, the young lady who gave us a free meal is really the one that could use the help…”
Then the unbelievable happened: within a few days, she had gathered more than $70,000 – far more than the $17,000 needed for a wheelchair accessible van! Liz and her family couldn’t be more grateful to the two firemen.
“All I did was pay for their breakfast. I didn’t expect anything more than a smile,” says the waitress “It goes to show that you just have to be kind to each other and that even the smallest gesture can change a life.”

A 40-year-old woman suspected of killing and secretly burying her Canadian boyfriend, who came to Ghana on a visit, has been arrested by the police.
Although the body has not yet been found, Natasha Bawah, a trader and hairdresser, is alleged to have taken the presumed dead Eddie Murphy Sulemana to the Upper East Region where he was killed.
The suspect claimed that Sulemana, a Muslim, died at the Tumu Government Hospital while receiving treatment for a fatal accident in the Upper East Region, and was buried by the Muslim community.
However, checks by the police neither yielded any records of Sulemana either at the hospital nor from the Muslim community that supposedly buried him.
Briefing journalists in Accra yesterday, the Accra Regional Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Mr Christian Tetteh Yohuno, said in September 2014, Sulemana came on holidays in Ghana where he met Natasha.
Trip to Upper East
He said the two became lovers and resided at Sowutuom in Accra.
In the course of the relationship, Mr Yohuno said, Natasha led the victim to Sandema in the Upper East Region for a cattle business.
Since that trip, Mr Yohuno said, the family of Sulemana had not set eyes on or heard anything from their relative.
He said when the family tried to contact him by phone, Natasha picked the phone and told the family that Sulemana had been involved in an accident and did not want any family member to visit him.
After sometime, he said Sulemana’s phone went off and Natasha was nowhere to be found.
Arrest
The family lodged a complaint with the police and Mr Yohuno said preliminary investigations revealed that Sulemana had not returned to Canada and that his travelling documents were with his friend, known as Mallam Mumuni.
On August 1, 2015, he said Natasha was traced to her hideout at Buokrom in Kumasi and was arrested.
Upon interrogation, she told the police that Sulemana died at the Tumu Government Hospital while receiving treatment from a fatal accident on the Tumu stretch of the road.
Natasha also claimed that Sulemana was buried on January 24, 2015, per Islamic customs at a Muslim cemetery in Tumu.
However, according to Mr Yohuno, when the Tumu Government Hospital and the Muslim community in Tumu were contacted, no records of death involving Sulemana as claimed by Natasha were found.
He said Natasha would be put before court while investigations continued.

Skiibii resurrecting from the dead after his manager shared the picture of a candlelight on Instagram makes the whole scenario was a stunt of poor taste. But this is 5 Star Music we are talking about, good taste and the label don’t go together.

The wave of sympathy from the music industry transformed into a backlash, and rightfully so. You do not joke with death. It is a serious thing. Grieving over a parent, brother, sister, a member of your family, friend, colleague, lover is something we should experience only once. No one has the mental fortitude to grieve over someone twice.
Mourning someone is a huge emotional act. It alters your mind, numbs your soul, and nearly crushes your spirit. For Skiibii and his accomplices in 5 Star Music to pull off such a silly stunt shows they are wicked and borderline evil. Fame is not that serious for you take people into the pit of bereavement and tell them its only a joke later on. How low can these guys go for them to trend and have their videos on Hip TV or Sound City?
We have known 5 Star Music for its brand of tasteless pop music, vulgar display of wealth, and annoying Instagram competitions. This new stunt shows how low E Money and his boys will go for relevance. Well Skiibii got what he wanted, he trended but not for his single or songs. He trended because he died.
To me Skiibii is really dead. In my mind he died after 24 hours of doing promo rounds, and there is nothing that can bring him back in my mind. I know a lot of other people in the music industry feel the same way to. I don’t care if two years from now he drops a dope album, as for me Skiibii died on August 14. That’s the end of his chapter. His ghost can roam around in parties and perform at Industry Nite, that’s his problem. Skiibii is dead and nothing can change that.

As for 5 Star Music, I suggest my colleagues give them a media blackout for a while. That label does not deserve to be in the spotlight right now. It is definitely not made up of right thinking people. DJs, VJs, and OAPs if you must take payola from them let them pay double, as a matter of fact triple.
Consider it payment for the emotional disturbance and stress you went through when you found out Skiibii died. They have the money, let E Money feel his bank account shake a little bit.

Wonders they say never ceases. An 11 year old Paraguayan girl who was defiled by her 42 year old step father known as Gilberto Benitez Zárate, gave birth to a baby girl at a Paraguayan hospital yesterday, August 13, 2015.
Gilberto who is married to the girl’s mother, absconded after what he did to the young girl was made pubic.
He was later arrested and on interrogation, denied defiling the girl and demanded a DNA test. News of her r*pe gained international attention after she was discovered in May to be pregnant at age 10 and was refused to be granted an abortion by the Paraguyan government
Paraguay has one of the strongest laws against abortion in the world. Amnesty international and some other rights organization had called for the termination of the pregnancy of the little girl because of the psychological trauma she will undergo but the Paraguayan government maintained their stand, saying the 11 year old girl will be given the much needed attention for her to give birth normally.
She gave birth by C-section to a girl that weighed 3.5 kilos (eight pounds). They say she and her daughter are doing very well medically.

The final burial rites of the late Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, Olubuse II, was performed on Friday, but his wives, children and family members were unable to pay their last respects as they were barred from the programme.
Some other people who had expected to see the body of the monarch lie in state were also disappointed as his remains were neither brought out for people to see nor was any casket displayed during the burial service.
A source at the palace told Punch that no member of the royal family was allowed to see the remains of the monarch since he was brought back to the palace.
He said,
“As we are holding this interdenominational service here, those concerned are performing their own rites inside the palace where the body is kept.
“You can see that the gates of the palace are locked and nobody is allowed to go inside. Nobody can see him again except those who will bury him.
“The wives and children were not even supposed to see his corpse at all but tradition was broken this time around because he (Sijuwade) died in London. But no family member can see him again. Those performing the rites are there now and they will complete it today (Friday). He will be buried in the middle of the night, but nobody will be there apart from those who will lower him into the grave.”
The source said those who saw the bodies of the previous Oonis were attacked by smallpox and did not survive the ailment.
A monarch in Osun State, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said,
“Nobody can see the Ooni, not even the US President, Barrack Obama. We are with him. It’s only the initiates who can see him. His wives and children cannot see him.”
But as the interdenominational service was about to take off, there was a mild drama as worshippers of Oro cult in Ife, also called Isoro, stormed the venue and attempted to stop the service. The worshippers claimed that it was a sacrilege to hold an interdenominational service for the departed king. And as the service went on outside the palace, the traditional worshippers sang and danced inside the palace.
The worshippers of Oro cult in Ife, also called ‘Isoro’, clashed with residents who were erecting tents for the interdenominational burial service at the frontage of Enuwa Palace.
A prominent chief in Ife, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said the ‘Isoro’ descended on the people who erected the tents because they (initiates) wanted to observe a seven-day burial rites for the departed king.
The chief said,
“The ‘Isoro’ saw the erection of tents for an interdenominational burial service as a sacrilege against custom and tradition.
“They descended on the people erecting the tents and flogged them heavily. They destroyed the tents and swore never to allow anybody do any interdenominational service at the palace.”It took the intervention of officials of the state government, who appealed to the ‘Isoro’ to allow the people to hold the interdenominational service before the issue was resolved. If not for the intervention of the state government, the interdenominational service would not have been allowed.”
Meanwhile, it was learnt that Sijuwade’s family members flew to see his body immediately after he transited in a highbrow hospital in England.
It was also learnt that the family members flew down to England to pay their last respect to the departed monarch. The Araba of Osogbo land, Chief Yemi Elebuibon, who spoke with Punch on Friday, disclosed that the corpse of the Ooni belonged to Ile-Ife and not his family.
“The traditional burial rites of the kings of Ile-Ife and Oyo are strictly complied with and they are comprehensive.When the Ooni dies, the body becomes that of the town. The ‘Isoro’ cult group will take over. The ‘Isoro’ initiates are the ones who worship the ‘Oro’ deity.
“It is the ‘Isoro’ people that would inform the various deities, who were worshipped and appeased when the Ooni was crowned, that he (the monarch) is no more.
“It’s a rite. Nothing must stop it.”
The Araba dispelled the belief that the heart of the late king would be fed to the next Ooni.
“The eating of the heart of a departed King by an incoming one belonged to the past. It no longer exists. People still make this insinuation because many are barred from witnessing the burial of a king.What the incoming king will eat is the heart of an animal and not that of a human. Nobody would be buried with the Ooni. Nobody would be killed for any form of sacrifice.”
Elebuibon explained that animals are now used for the burial rites of Yoruba Obas because of modernisation, noting that Christianity and Islam also stopped the use of humans for sacrifice when God stopped Abraham from sacrificing his son, Isaac.
Meanwhile, a cleric, Evangelist Toluwase Akeredolu, had disputed insinuations that Sijuwade, as a prominent monarch, was in the cult. Akeredolu had said that Oba Sijuwade died as a born-again Christian. Akeredolu said this on July 29 after the transition of the monarch was announced by the media.
The cleric, an evangelist with the Christ Apostolic Church, said the monarch had few weeks before his transition, confessed all his sins to God after he preached the gospel of Jesus Christ to him. Akeredolu said he was privileged to have ministered to the monarch few weeks before his death.
“Oba Sijuwade told the congregation at the last crusade we organised in Ile-Ife that he had forsaken sins and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and personal saviour. He confessed publicly that he would live the rest of his life to serve the Almighty God.
“During the revival, Oba Sijuwade said he had committed the rest of his lifetime to Christ, the saviour of all and had sung the popular song ‘All to Jesus, I surrender.’”
It will be recalled that the late monarch dropped the title of ‘Oluaye’ (owner of the universe) in 2010 in deference to the Almighty God.”

Taking pictures the entire show: I get it. You want to show all your friends on Facebook and Twitter that you were at the concert. Fine. Take a photo. Take five if you want. But please, don’t take 1000! You always manage to hold your camera right in my line of sight. You don’t even look like you’re enjoying the show while you’re doing this. All your attention is on the pictures you are taking. And you know what? Those pictures are all going to look like nonsense, every single one of them. You’re too far away from the stage. You’ll probably never even look at them. Also, you see those guys right in front of the stage with the giant cameras? They’re taking great professional pictures. There’s really no need for yours.
Checking Facebook, Twitter and Instagram every couple of minute Unless you’re a surgeon who’s expecting an emergency call or message, everything can wait. Live in the moment. Enjoy the show. You paid gate fee to be here. You can tweet your friends when you get home. Also, your fake China phone emits a very harsh and distracting light. For the love of God, turn the damn thing off!
Incessantly talking to your friends: You might not like whatever song is playing. You may be bored with the show in general. You may have been dragged here by your boyfriend against your will. But you’ve been talking all through the entire show, and I can hear everything you are saying. It’s driving me crazy. Please shut the hell up! I can’t tell you how many shows I attend where the girls in front of me are yelling in each other’s ear the entire night. Not only is my sightline blocked when their cheap wigs or weave-on come together, but I can hear their gossip. Take your chit-chat to one of the food vendor’s shed and stay there till the show is over, or go spread a wrapper under that pawpaw tree and lie down and talk till morning. I don’t care. Just shut up so I can enjoy the show.
Yelling out requests: ‘Yaaay, I want Styl-plus to play “Imagine That”’. Hey girls, imagine if you shut up and stop screaming in my ear; most of the time, the song list is pre-determined, and they can’t even hear you from up there. They’re going to play what they’re going to play. Just go along for the ride. Damn it!
Yelling out the names of the artiste on stage: This is another level of irritation. This has never been funny. Maybe it was cool in the 80s. Now, it’s just madness.
Pushing your way to the front: If a concert is general admission, the people in front earned their spots. They got there early and laid claim to their space. The people all the way in front might have even spent all day waiting by the doors, so when the show begins and you shove your way to the front, you’re being a huge distraction. Don’t do that. If you show up late and there’s only room in the back, you’ve just have to deal with it.
Getting so drunk you puke: Girls these days drink like sharks. You see them at Felaberation smoking igbo even more than TerryG. I feel sorry for those who have to clean up the venue after the concerts. I can imagine the types of vomit and stench they have to clean up.
Loudly complaining after the show because the artiste didn’t play your favourite song: This is actually one of the crazy things we see after each concert. Babes, try to enjoy the show you’re getting as opposed to the one you wish you were seeing. Besides, haven’t you heard “Kukere” and “Shoki” enough?
Filming the entire show on your mobile phone: This distracts people even worse than taking pictures, and usually results in an equally horrid product. Thomas Thwaites is so intruiged by goats he gave it all up to live with them in the mountains. He spent three days as part of a herd in the Swiss Alps while investigating goat behaviour.
He used special prosthetic limbs made to enable him to move around on all fours easily. And the designer even considered having a fake stomach fitted to let him to eat grass, just like his four-legged friends.

“I was able to keep up for maybe a kilometre or so on this migration down the side of this kind of rocky mountain, and then they just left me in the dust.

Let’s start with Kcee, while on popular programme with Toolz, ‘The Juice,’ he denied ever getting married to his estranged wife Ijeoma Cynthia Okonkwo (nee Oduah) and claims the woman is his elder sister. This got many talking and wondering what could possibly be wrong with the singer but the matter has been long forgotten.
Harry Song came up with his own tale in an interview which he denied that he was a product of incest. When the story trended and calls and comments were coming in, the singer denied the allegations stating that he never said such even threatening to sue the writer.
Well, thinking that all was fine with the singers as they seems to have been calm with their controversies, Kcee’s manager, Sososo Berekon, needed a hype for himself as he decided to share a picture of himself with some mobile men while having bottles of beer.
Now, the trendiest of all controversies is the records new artiste, Skiibii. The singer has been on some media tour trying to promote his new song and in other to have a quick wider coverage, the singer and his label team decided to stage a prank which got everyone in a sober mood when it was alleged that the singer is dead.
Even the label’s manager, Sososo Berekon shared a candle to signify that the singer had died. Within the space of about five hours, it became a trending issue only for many to be shocked at the latest news by Kcee that the singer was ok and only slumped but was recovering in an undisclosed hospital.
From the look of things, the stars in this record label just need to grow and truly define a strategic means of promoting themselves rather than set hearts pondering. Who dare jokes with death? With the way they have been pushing themselves with various controversies, their credibility will soon be in doubt.
