Some beggars in Kaduna state, on Monday said they had used proceeds from begging to help join the movement that produced Governor El Rufai of Kaduna State and promised to bring down his government should he insist on stopping their livelihood without providing them any alternative.
The beggars who addressed the Press in Kaduna through the leadership of Kaduna State Beggars Association said if they knew that El Rufai would stop them from begging and would show no care about their welfare afterwards, they would never have voted him in the first place.
Mallam Yahaya Makaho, a visually challenged person who spoke on behalf the group said:
“I want to swear on my honour that I personally used my proceeds from begging to canvass for the support of El Rufai. I used my money to mobilise for his support both on the streets and where I usually teach my students. And I am not alone in my group that made that sacrifice.
“We decided to support El Rufai, because we were tired of the then Governor, (Mukhtar Ramalan Yero) who did not show any regards to our survival. We worked hard, spent money and prayed and God heard our prayers and brought down Yero.
“Now, it would appear that we made a mistake. The new governor wants to bring us down. He does not want us to live. He has chased us out of the streets and has made no alternative arrangement for our survival.
“Look, some of us here have between three and four wives and many children. How can you lock such a man, who must resort to begging because he has found himself incapable of doing any other thing?We are asking the governor to rescind this decision now or find ways to meet our basic needs.
“If he refuses to heed to this demand, we shall make sure we bring down his government. We are not going to pray that he dies, even if he wishes us so. We are not going to say that he should be impeached, because we voted him to power. What we will do is to hand him over to the Almighty God, and we know he will remove him the same way he removed the former person. We are servants of God, and he always hear our cry”, he said.
El Rufai has always maintained that beggars and hawkers are used by terrorists, saying he had banned their activities in the state, not out of malice, but for public good.

We reported earlier today that only daughter of Late music Legend, Whitney Houston, Bobbi Kristina passed away. Following the death of the 22 year old, people began to speculate who would inherit the fortune of her late mum, which was left in her name.
Logically, it’s okay to say that Bobby Brown would be the one to inherit the fortune, (her estate), it is now being revealed that he won’t be getting a penny.

We’ve seen a copy of Whitney’s will, which established a trust in which Bobbi Kristina got 1/10 of Whitney’s estate when she turned 21.
Bobbi Kristina was set to get 1/6 of the balance when she turned 25, but that will not happen since she died tragically at 22.
Whitney’s will provided that if Bobbi Kristina died before reaching 25, all the money would go to the people Whitney designated. Translation, Bobbi Kristina had no authority to give away 9/10 of Whitney’s fortune.
As for who Whitney designated … mother Cissy and brothers Michael and Gary. The will also gives Bobby Brown a cut, but there’s an issue. The will is worded to “my husband, Robert B. Brown.” Obviously, the will was drafted before they divorced in 2007, and the issue is whether Bobby still qualifies since he is no longer her husband.
According to the law of New Jersey, where the will was drafted, Bobby will NOT get the money because being Whitney’s husband is a qualifier which he no longer meets.
He had earlier broken his silence following the news of her death. It is almost a week after Bobby Brown welcomed a baby girl with his wife that he lost his daughter, Bobbi Kristina.
The heartbroken father broke his silence in a statement to E!news.
“Krissy was and is an angel. I am completely numb at this time. My family must find a way to live with her in spirit and honor her memory. Our loss is unimaginable,We thank everyone for the prayers for Krissy and our family as we mourn my baby girl.”

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has said he maintains his view, as expressed in his three-volume autobiography, My Watch, that Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, has better expertise in wine matters than in political analysis.
In the book, Obasanjo wrote,
“For Wole, no one can be good, nor can anything be spot-on politically except that which emanates from him or is ordained by him. His friends and loved ones will always be right and correct no matter what they do or fail to do. In response, shortly after the book went public, Soyinka had, in a piece titled ‘Watch And Pray, Watch And Prey’, called Obasanjo an expert liar, who lies to boost his ego.
Channels Tv was granted an interview, on a programme tagged ‘Book Club’, where Obasanjo, said what he wrote about Soyinka was purely his view, adding that Soyinka did not have to agree with it.
The former President disclosed that there was a lingering feud between him and the Nobel Laureate, who, he said, had vowed that the differences between the two of them would not be resolved on earth.
Obasanjo, however, said he had told Soyinka that, in that case, whichever of them gets to heaven first should wait at the gate to welcome the other.
He said,
“Wole Soyinka is a gifted man. I have always acknowledged that but he is a bad politician and I have also always said that; and that is my own point of view. He may agree with it, he may not agree with it.
“But having said that, I also, in my book, bring out Wole Soyinka as I see him and that’s my own judgment; that’s my own perspective of him. He may agree, he may not agree but anybody can bring out his own perspective of me.
“For instance, I know that if I want somebody to give me the best wine, one of the people I will go to is Wole Soyinka and I know he has a taste for good wine and I said that in the book.”

It’s been a long time coming, she was truly a fighter to have come this far. Only daughter of Late Music Legend, Whitney Houston, Bobbi Kristina, who was found unresponsive in a bathtub six months ago, has reportedly passed away.
A statement by her family states that:

“Bobbi Kristina Brown passed away Sunday, July, 26 2015, surrounded by her family,”. “She is finally at peace in the arms of God. We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months.”
Her boyfriend and adopted brother, Nick Gordon is said to be investigated by the District Attorney and now that she has died, it is now a a murder investigation.
Bobbi’s mom, Whitney Houston died from a drug overdose in 2012 while sitting in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Bobbi would be buried next to her mum.

3 suspected thieves, have been apprehended for allegedly diverting a container loaded with pharmaceutical drugs, valued at N40m, to the Igando area of the state.
It was gathered that the suspects ─ Emmanuel Onyike, 51; Alabi Daudu, 68; and Paul Aina, 58, were apprehended on Saturday, July 18.
According to the police, the container, which belonged to the United States Agency for International Development, was heading for a warehouse of the Society for Family Health in Sango Ota, Ogun State.
It was, however, hijacked and diverted by the suspects to a secluded warehouse in Igando, where the suspects reportedly planned to sell the contents.

Speaking with PUNCH Metro, Daudu, a native of Abeokuta, Ogun State, said his role was to get a truck to convey the diverted container. He added that they had yet to sell any of the items before they were arrested.
He said,
“Babawale was a friend, and he was the one who brought the deal. He told me he had some goods, and I should get him a truck to convey them. I knew it was stolen goods, but I did not know they were USAID drugs.
“We drove from the Tin Can Port to an area in Igando. Babawale deceived me that the truck contained household batteries. He did not let the three of us know the warehouse.
“This is the fourth operation I would be participating in. I was arrested by the SARS, Ikeja, on a case of diverting roofing sheets. I got N1.8m from the operation. I got N2m from the second. I cannot remember the third. But now, I am repentant. I have grandchildren.”

Also, Aina from Itapa, Ekiti State, and father of six children, said Daudu lured him into the act, adding that his own role was to get buyers for the goods.
He said, “I knew Daudu when we were selling clothes in Isolo. He told me there was a business he wanted us to do together. I did not have money. It was poverty that forced me to agree to the deal. The plan was to take the products to a buyer. I was asked to provide some of the buyers. I made a mistake. I don’t want to go to jail.”
It was also gathered that about 500 cartons of drugs, which the container was conveying, had been recovered by the police. It was learnt that other members of the syndicate, identified only as Ikechukwu, Babawale, Shola and Alhaji, were still at large.

According to reports Man United have agree terms with Sampdoria for goalkeeper Sergio Romero.
Manchester United were completing their fifth summer signing with the arrival of Argentinian goalkeeper Sergio Romero from Sampdoria.
