An exchange between Nigerian singer, Portable, and veteran Nollywood actress, Foluke Daramola, at a recent event has left netizens in stitches.

The “Zazu Zeh” star met with Foluke Daramola and some other top Nollywood stars at the 50th birthday celebration of Fuji Maestro, KS1 Malaika.

In a video from the event that was shared online, Portable was seen greeting several Yoruba actresses, including Foluke Daramola, who graced the occasion.

Foluke, however, appeared very elated to see the controversial artiste. She asked for his contact information and expressed her desire to feature him in one of her upcoming movies.

After the conversation, Foluke asked Portable to take a photo with her, and he obliged. However, after striking a number of poses with the actress, Portable, who is known for his bluntness, expressed surprise that Foluke wanted many photos with him given their shared status as celebrities.

“You are also a celebrity, but you want to kill me with photos,” he said in Yoruba.

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested one Amos Olalere, a 29-year-old suspected internet fraudster popularly known as “Yahoo Boy,” for allegedly killing his sister for ritual purposes.

The suspect was apprehended by detectives of the Lagos State Police Command during a stop-and-search operation along Itamaga, Ikorodu Road, in Lagos State, while on his way to dispose of his sister’s corpse into the river as instructed by the native doctor his mother contacted on his behalf.

During interrogation, the suspect reportedly confessed that he conspired with his mother to murder his younger sister and had sexual intercourse with her corpse for money rituals.

According to him, the native doctor told them that he must perform human sacrifice, and the person to be sacrificed must be a sibling for him to succeed in his “Yahoo” business.

“My mother took me to a herbalist who told me if I want to be successful in the Yahoo business, I will have to sacrifice one life, and that person must be my sister, whom I love so much.

After hearing from the herbalist, it took me months before I could carry out the act, and my mother was also encouraging me to kill my sister so they could be rich.

My mother planned the entire incident by going out to buy poison, which she would put in my sister’s food.

The herbalist also instructed that I must sleep with my sister, suck her honeypot after she is dead, and then throw her into the river for the ritual procedures to be completed.” He said.

Relationship expert, Blessing Okoro, has paid a visit to her son, Darel Lucky Okoh, at his boarding school, a few days after her release from police custody.

Recall that the controversial internet celebrity was arrested on April 1st for alleged cyberbullying and was released a few days ago after spending two weeks behind bars.

After her release, she visited her son in school and shared the adorable mother-son moment on social media.

In the video, Blessing asked her son what he had heard about her during her absence. In response, he disclosed how surprised his teachers were when they found out that he is the son of the self-acclaimed relationship expert.

He claimed his teachers told him that he looks nothing like his mother and added that his mother had gained weight since the last time he saw her.

Blessing promised to visit him again on his school’s next visiting day but asked him to remind her a few days before as she may forget.

Nigerian monarch, Oba Alayeluwa Saheed Ademola Elegushi, has spoken out on alleged reports that one of his wives, Olori Sekinat, is facing a life-threatening complication after a BBL surgery.

The rumor started after controversial blogger, Cutie Juls, claimed that the wife of a popular Nigerian monarch is battling for her life abroad following a botched procedure.

According to the blog, she went under the knife to enhance her backside but the procedure didn’t go as planned, and she is currently facing complications.

The post reads,

Sources inside the palace revealed at this point, the palace needs everybody’s prayers more than anything else.

Although the blog didn’t mention the name of the monarch involved, many raised speculations that she was referring to Oba Elegushi’s wife, Olori Sekinat.

Media personality, Chinedu Ani Emmanuel, popularly known as Nedu, has expressed his concern about the current trend of women going to public places without bras.

Speaking on the latest episode of his Honest Bunch podcast, Nedu said he had noticed many ladies in malls without bras.

“Most of the ladies that go to Ebeano to buy stuff do not wear bras, and it’s a public place,” he said.

His co-host, actress Ezinne Jane Ugorji, added that women who claim they don’t wear bras because they are uncomfortable in them should at least wear them in public places out of consideration for others.

She said, “If you want to be comfortable, be comfortable in your own home because other people come to public places with their husbands.”

Ex-boxer punches his wife to coma over TV remote in Ondo

The Ondo State police command has arrested a 56-year-old former boxer, Moses Olapade, for allegedly beating his wife, Tinuke, to a coma.

The incident reportedly occurred at their residence at No. 9 Odama Street in the Oke-Aro community of Akure when his wife refused to hand over the television remote to him.

It was gathered that Olapade, a truck driver who plies the northern part of the country, had returned home from a journey on the fateful day and wanted to watch a programme on the television. He asked his 44-year-old wife to hand over the TV remote, but she refused.

Out of anger, Olapade rained punches on his wife until she fell down and became unconscious. It took the intervention of neighbors to rescue the woman from her husband after their children ran out screaming for help.

When the neighbors burst into the house to rescue the woman, they found her lying unconscious on the floor and quickly rushed her to the nearest hospital.

The matter was reported to leaders of the community, who then called the police, and Olapade was subsequently arrested.

In other news, a 20-year-old woman, Fatima has taken her father before a Kaduna Shari’a Court for allegedly pressuring her to wed a stranger.

Fatima testified in court that she is in love with someone, and according to reports, her father, Aliyu Muhammad, has threatened to take her to the village and force her into wedlock.

The court was also informed by her attorney, Malam Y.A. Bulama, that his client did not initiate a lawsuit against her father out of disdain for him. Bulama said;

“The father wants my client to marry a man in their village in Niger state. Right now she’s living in her aunty’s house because he threatened to take her to the village and marry her off.”

Fatima’s father, however, argued before the court that he had to honor his late parents’ decision to choose a groom for his daughter when they were still alive. He said;

“I married my six daughters off in the village and they are doing well. Fatima’s mother is the brains behind her stubbornness. I need permission to consult with my people over this matter.”

According to Shari’a law, a parent has the right to select a partner for his daughter, however the judge Malam Isiyaku Abdulrahman said that forced marriage is not encouraged. He also advised the father of the daughter to have patience with her.

In his words;

“You are her father, therefore you should pray for the best for her because if you are angry with her she won’t see good things.

“Allow her to present the person she wants to marry and if you are pleased with his religion and character, you allow her to get married”.

A while back, Abba Bichi berated singer, Teni, for not bowing to President Buhari while receiving a national award.

The 29-year-old singer was on Tuesday, October 11, conferred as a Member of the Order of the Niger (MON), at a ceremony which was held at the Government House Villa in Aso Rock

During the award ceremony, Teni, when called up, received her award from the president without bowing or shaking his hands, and then returned to her seat afterwards.

Teni’s conduct sparked controversy online as many Nigerians accused her of being disrespectful to the presidency.

One of those who chided Teni for her conduct at the award ceremony was the DSS DG’s son, Abba Bichi. He shared a photo of Teni on his Instagram page and lambasted her for not bowing to the president.

Nigerian singer, Ayra Starr has recalled how she was disciplined by the female teachers in her high school and told she would never become anything in life.

The singer shared that they all surrounded her, punished her, and insulted her for painting one fingernail pink.

Sharing a video on her Tiktok page, Ayra claimed that despite being beaten and punished, even with tears in her eyes at the time, she was convinced that she would survive.

She captioned the video;

“I remember when all my female teachers gathered and knelt me down to tell me I’ll never be anything in life just because I painted one fingernail pink, but even back then with the tears in my eyes I always knew was the shit.”

In other news, veteran Nollywood actress, Joke Silva has stated the reason why she would never allow a movie to be filmed in her home.

She revealed this during “The Roundtable Lekki,” a conference for youth development. The actress claims that making movies involves a lot of people, many of whom she wouldn’t want in her personal space.

Joke Silva underlined the value of Nollywood having studios and sound stages that would give appropriate settings for filmmaking.

In her words;

“We shoot in apartments these days. But, I won’t allow movies to be shot in my home; it won’t happen.

I know the number of people that are brought into a shoot. There may be two people in a scene, but to shoot it, there will probably be about 20 people there. That means 20 people will put their hands on my wall, block the loo, and do other things.

We need to build our studios and sound stages, just like American filmmaker, Tyler Perry, has done. He built one of the biggest sound stages in the world.

The thing with sound stages is that there are usually facades. I once shot a movie in France, but all the interior shots were taken in London, United Kingdom.

All we did in France were the exteriors shots to give the ambience of that country. Sound stages give one control. It allows one to make movies at one’s desired pace.” She said.

Nigerian singer and songwriter, Ikuforiji Olaitan Abdulrahman, popularly known as Oxlade, has claimed that after running away from home to pursue his music career, he worked odd jobs to make ends meet.

According to Oxlade, in order to support his musical career, he had to sell bus tickets, a profession often performed by motor park touts known as “agbero.”

Oxlade revealed in a recent interview that his father, a university lecturer, never encouraged him to pursue music.

In his words;

“Honestly, he [my dad] was indifferent at first. But my stubbornness and consistency paid off.

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye has expressed his faith that President-elect Asiwaju Bola Tinubu will be able to rebuild Nigeria with the help of God.

He declared this at the RCCG Headquarters in Ebute-Metta, Lagos State, during the regularly scheduled Thanksgiving service.

Famous Nollywood actor, Frederick Leonard has taken to social media to make a special vow to his wife, Peggy Ovire with a thank you note after a surprise birthday treat she organized for him.

The actor, who turned a year older a week ago,  took to his Instagram page to recount how his wife Peggy Ovire surprised him with a birthday celebration despite the fact that he had been away from home for months on end filming.

Her generous act astounded Frederick Leonard, who showed his thanks and respect for her.

He continued by saying that Peggy and several of their colleagues traveled for 48 hours to be with him at his filming location only to make him happy. The actor reiterated his love and gratitude for her and pledged to never take her for granted.

According to her, airlines should ban children from flights for the sake of other passengers. She further told parents to leave their ‘noisy’ kids at home, instead of taking them along on their trips.

A Nigerian lady, Praise Oghre, has recounted how she abruptly ended an all-expenses-paid trip in Maldives and returned to Nigeria after the man she traveled with made an obscene request.

Praise had reluctantly agreed to go on the trip with the man, who begged her to keep him company. However, upon getting to the vacation destination, she discovered that the guy had booked the same room for both of them to sleep in, which made her uncomfortable.

Praise eventually took the next flight to Nigeria, leaving the man there, as she had only expected to keep him company and not engage in anything sexual with him.

Narrating the incident on Twitter, she emphasized that she would not give up her virginity for a vacation and that her future husband deserves better.

A 20-year-old woman, Fatima has taken her father before a Kaduna Shari’a Court for allegedly pressuring her to wed a stranger.

Fatima testified in court that she is in love with someone, and according to reports, her father, Aliyu Muhammad, has threatened to take her to the village and force her into wedlock.

The court was also informed by her attorney, Malam Y.A. Bulama, that his client did not initiate a lawsuit against her father out of disdain for him. Bulama said;

“The father wants my client to marry a man in their village in Niger state. Right now she’s living in her aunty’s house because he threatened to take her to the village and marry her off.”

Fatima’s father, however, argued before the court that he had to honor his late parents’ decision to choose a groom for his daughter when they were still alive. He said;

“I married my six daughters off in the village and they are doing well. Fatima’s mother is the brains behind her stubbornness. I need permission to consult with my people over this matter.”

According to Shari’a law, a parent has the right to select a partner for his daughter, however the judge Malam Isiyaku Abdulrahman said that forced marriage is not encouraged. He also advised the father of the daughter to have patience with her.

In his words;

“You are her father, therefore you should pray for the best for her because if you are angry with her she won’t see good things.

“Allow her to present the person she wants to marry and if you are pleased with his religion and character, you allow her to get married”

Canadian rapper Aubrey Drake Graham, popularly known as Drake, has taken to social media to share his father’s ancestry results, showing he’s Nigerian.

Taking to his Instagram stories, the international music act shared a screenshot of the DNA ancestry result, which showed he’s 30% Nigerian.

According to Drake, his dad, Dennis Graham, had sent him a screenshot of his DNA test that showed they were more Nigerian than any other race or tribe in the world.

A Kenyan woman is alleged to have murdered her 3-year-old son and dumped the body in a quarry because her new boyfriend didn’t want a child.

A Facebook user identified as Ayoki disclosed this on the platform on Sunday, May 7, 2023.

According to Ayoki, the incident happened in Obunga, Kisumu County, and the woman has been arrested and taken into custody.
 

“A lady in her twenties from Obunga strangled to death her three-year-old son and dumped the body in Kanyakwar Quarry. Locals who saw her raised an alarm when she tried to escape.

She was arrested by the area chief and booked into the Obunga police station. It is said that the lady was frustrated with life and was about to move in with a new boyfriend who didn’t want a child. She then thought it wise to take her child’s life,” he wrote on Facebook.

In other news, the police in the Federal Capital Territory have detained a 16-year-old boy identified as Emmanuel John after being accused of killing his father, Monday John, by beating him.

According to police sources, on May 2 at around 10 p.m., Monday and his wife, Mercy John, got into a disagreement at their house and Emmanuel struck his father with a pestle.

It was said that the couple had a heated dispute that became physical and Emmanuel attacked his father while siding with his mother.

He grabbed up the pestle and used it on his father during their argument. After collapsing, the father was taken to the hospital and later pronounced dead.

According to a police source, on May 3, one Yusuf Ayuba submitted a case of culpable homicide to the Karshi Police Station.

He claimed that after the completion of the police inquiry, Emmanuel would be taken into custody by the police and charged in a juvenile court.

The FCT Commissioner of Police, Haruna Garba, spoke on the event during a news conference on Friday. He claimed the suspect smacked his father’s head hard.

South African rapper, Sesethu Myeki, better known as Big Xhosa, has issued a public apology to his girlfriend for cheating on her multiple times.

In a post on his verified Instagram page, Xhosa shared a photo of the two of them together and admitted to being unfaithful to his partner.
