A check on their individual Instagram pages this afternoon (March 28) showed that the pair, who previously followed each other on the platform, have both unfollowed each other, and this has caused quite a stir among their fans and followers.

While many people have been left wondering what could have led to this fallout, it’s essential to note that unfollowing each other on social media doesn’t necessarily mean that they are at odds.

However, viral reports allege that the pair, known for their soul-stirring music, got into a fight and ultimately went their separate ways over an undisclosed issue.

In recent weeks, Minister GUC has shared several posts about ingrates, which some people believe are shades aimed at Mercy Chinwo.

“Do good, help, assist as you can, and trust God to reward you. You see, man? Never trust that they will return the favour or repay you. You will be wasting your time. No matter what comes your way or is said, keep being who you are

“In 100 people, 2 may really appreciate what you’ve done, and that’s ok. Most importantly, our reward is with God

“Nigeria failed you and your generation” – Family pays tribute to late Dr. Chinelo who died in Abuja-Kaduna train attack one year ago

Family pays

The family of late medical doctor, Dr. Chinelo Nwando Megafu, who was killed in the deadly Abuja-Kaduna train attack, has paid an emotional tribute to her on her first death anniversary today, March 28.

Exactly a year ago, the Kaduna bound train was attacked by terrorists who killed nine persons and kidnapped 60 others in the Kateri-Rijana area of the state.

Family pays

The gunmen set off an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) to blow up a section of the track, then opened fire on the coaches and attacked the passengers.

Sadly, Dr. Chinelo who quit her job a month before the attack and was preparing to relocate abroad, was killed in the attack.

Prior to her death, the 29-year-old dental surgeon took to Twitter to announce that she had been shot in the train and asked for prayers.

“I’m on the train. I have been shot, please pray for me,” she tweeted that night.

However, some Twitter users accused her of lying and spreading false information until a friend revealed that she had died as a result of injuries sustained in the attack.

One year after her passing, her father has paid an emotional tribute to her on behalf of the Megafu family.

It reads,

“Chinelo, on this first anniversary, we remember you affectionately as we did yesterday and shall do tomorrow. We remain ever grateful to God for His Grace on your impactful life”.

“On that fateful evening in your agony as life ebbed away, God’s spirit prompted you to tell the world the real truth as you prayed: ‘I’m on the train. I have been shot, please pray for me,’

“That act of courage immediately changed the narrative, putting paid to the usual vapid, sinful, lie and denial strewn statements that were checkmated. You became the poster face of a beleaguered and slipping nation. A nation you served so much prematurely consumed you. The country failed you and your generation.”

“Mavin Records has spent an average of $225,000 on dropping music for artists on their roaster in 2023” – Joey Akan

Nigerian music journalist, Joey Akan has disclosed that Mavin Records, owned by Don Jazzy, spent $225,000 on song production and release for five artists in the first three months of 2023.

Only seven tracks were allegedly provided for the signees, including those by Ayra Starr, Boy Spyce, Rema, Crayon, and Magixx.

The podcaster provided a hazy summary of how the $225k (about N170 million) budget was allocated for tracks by Boy Spyce and Ayra Starr, among other artists on the microblogging platform, Twitter.

Joey wrote;

“In the first quarter of 2023, Mavin Records have spent an average of $225,000 on dropping music for artists on their roster. The record label have released 7 records from 5 artists, with one from each artist worked through the system as a singles.

How? Why the high cost? Mavins started early. Boy Spyce charged out the gate with ‘Folake’ on January 25th. 2 weeks later, Ayra Starr’s “Sability” dropped on February 9.

Rema would come rushing in with “Holiday” and “Reason You,” barely 10 days later, on February 15. Elections were crucial business, so a month lay-off was ended with Crayon’s “The One.”
Magixx rounds off a busy quarter with “Colors” and “Royal.” Based on data I’ve collected from multiple records labels operating locally: The average going rate for established artists and records labels to work a single is $35,000.
This covers cost to work your song via radio, TV, digital marketing, influencer campaigns, clubs and DJs. Throw in the average $10,000 (not T.G Omori price o) music video cost, and it comes up to a cool $45,000 for a single campaign.
Mavins have 5 campaigns in the last 3 months, spending an average of $225,000 to work pop songs and dominate the charts with each release. Nearly $230,000 is cost of a full house, to work singles, and they’ve got it covered with V.C funding from Kupanda.
Nigerian music is capital intensive. Every step of the way is paved with billing, and each inch of real estate is carved from spending strategically. But, imagine how steep the playing field is. How the financial barrier of entry into the mainstream market is the number one obstacle to realising your dreams in music.
Without this war chest, upcoming artists are left with hope. Hope that one day, they’ll find a sponsor to foot this cost. Either via major label signing, or an individual’s deep pocket.”

“Back to back misyarning on women” – Reality TV star, Venita claps back at Whitemoney

Big Brother Naija star and actress, Venita, has seemingly taken a swipe at her colleague, Whitemoney for his recent comments on women.

Whitemoney who won the Big Brother Naija Naija season 6 has been in the news over the past week for not-so-good reasons.

He first came under heavy fire from netizens’ particularly women for saying that ‘no woman is out of a man’s league as long as he has money’.

Amid the backlash, excerpts from his interview with media personality Nedu recently surfaced and yet again he made a controversial statement about women.

He claimed that the majority of women who go on the show, go there to show off and not necessarily use the platform to show their talents.

He claimed that some former female BBNaija housemates have approached him to hook them up with his rich friends.

In an apparent reaction to whitemoney’s remarks, Venita via her Twitter handle threw a subtle shade at the Big Brother Naija “Shine Ya Eye” star.

“Back-to-back misyarning on women… Ok, Pina Colada”, She wrote.

Whitemoney, has, however, apologized to women for his comment stating that he did not mean it in the way that it was interpreted. Read here.

“Entitlement is another subtle form of witchcraft” – Actor Uti Nwachukwu

Nigerian actor and media personality, Uti Nwachukwu has taken to Twitter to call out people with a huge sense of entitlement.

In a series of tweets, Uti tackled those prone to resenting others who refuse to give them what they want.

According to him, no one owes anyone anything, and people should abandon any notion that makes them detest other people for refusing to give them what they cannot achieve.

He wrote;

“Entitlement is another subtle form of witchcraft. Shun it today! “Oh he is so rich yet 1 Naira never reach my hand” “With that big house she can’t even give me one room” “See all that food, them no offer me” “Why can he use his money to help the needy” ITS THE AUDACITY FOR ME
1. You are in no position to count anyones money for them-NO ONE OWES U SH$T 2. You cannot tell an Adult how to spend the money they earned-EVEN IF U PAID THEM, ITS THEIR CHOICE! 3. You can’t dictate to people how to live and/run their lives – U AINT GOD! 4. If there’s no consent
Or a Prior agreement-YOU DO NOT DESERVE ANYTHING FROM THEM.
Perish the thought that encourages you to HATE another human being because they refused to give u what you yourself cannot earn.
Abi you guys like to use religion to justify your ways in this region?
Didn’t Jesus say It’s more blessed to GIVE than RECEIVE? So why are u now obsessed with being on the receiving end? U no like blessings for yourself? FYI Just becos someone says NO to U, doesn’t mean they ain’t giving it to someone else and reaping their blessings. So if u like, de Judge de go.
This also applies to Favours, opportunities, Love Languages, peoples time, etc. He who expects from others, has chosen a life of sadness and despair. Let every good deed come as a surprise instead and happiness will not elude you. This is also a ‘Note to self’ moment.”

“Some ladies do butt enlargement surgery on credit” – Actress, Zinnie Posh makes shocking revelation (Video)

Popular Nollywood actress and podcaster, Ezinne Jane Ugorji, better known as Zinnie Posh, has alleged that some ladies now do their butt enlargement surgery on credit.

In recent years, there has been a growing trend of women opting for cosmetic surgery to enhance their physical appearance.

One of the most popular procedures is butt enlargement surgery, which involves inserting implants or transferring fat from other parts of the body to the body.

However, this procedure can come with a hefty price tag, and not everyone can afford to pay for it upfront.

Speaking on media personality, Nedu’s Honest Bunch podcast Zinnie claimed that this has led to some women turning to credit to finance their surgeries.

She stated this after BBNaija star, Whitemoney who was also a guest on the show narrated how a lady he had been wooing for a while now, but didn’t seem interested in him, started warming up to him after he acquired a Maybach.

Reacting, Zinnie Posh said that most of the big girls undergo BBL surgery on credit, promising to pay later.

She said that for these ladies to be able to pay up their surgery debt they begin to roll with wealthy men that would give them money.

Lady recounts giving her man money after he lost his job, only for him to end up cheating on her

Financial support is one of the most crucial things you can provide for someone you love. It helps them through tough times and shows that you care, but what happens when that support is taken for granted or even abused?

A Nigerian lady recently shared her experience of supporting her man financially after he lost his job, only for him to use it to cheat on her with other women.

The businesswoman, identified as Queen Ufuoma, in a Twitter thread, recalled how the man’s business crashed and he lost his job about the same time.

Ufoma said she always sent him airtime so he could stay in touch at all times and not be stranded, but she later discovered that he was using the same money she gave him to take care of other women.

She claimed the incident happened three years ago, and she ended up ending the relationship.

However, two months after she ended things with him, he unashamedly asked her for money. She said she sent N20k to him and blocked his contact afterward.

Read her full story below,

“He lost everything, his job, business, etc he wanted to start all over, didn’t have the means, he told me the amount he needed for a fresh start, I gave him 75% of the total amount, consistently sent him airtime so he won’t be stranded, dude used the money to flex with different women, got a baby out of it, I silently walked away, barely two months later, he called me to tell me he’s not eaten since yesterday and doesn’t know who else to turn to for help, I still sent him 20k then I blocked him.

Three yrs later, he’s using another number to contact me to tell me the baby wasn’t his, the “baby mama” just wanted money, he demanded for a DNA test and she skipped town. All I said was “sorry about that” then I blocked him.

Baba dey my telegram dey chat with himself everyday as we speak. All my friends can confirm how generous I am, sometimes they wanna borrow money but instead I tell them not to pay back, some borrow and don’t pay back, na recently I enter wickedness phase of being stingy and it has been sweet, I’ll leave the phase when I know someone is worthy of my generosity.

In addition, he told me he knows I was trying to use money to trap him into marrying me. Like I said, men love gold diggers when they have gold.”

Pastor Faith Oyedepo reveals

Pastor Faith Oyedepo, the wife of popular Nigerian clergyman, Bishop David Oyedepo, is currently trending on Twitter after she shared what her husband did when she had a miscarriage scare.

 Pastor Faith Oyedepo reveals

“I remember when I was pregnant with our first son, one day I saw blood flowing from me and when my husband returned home, I told him that I had a miscarriage. Boldly, and without any hesitation, he said, “You can’t have a miscarriage!”, and then asked to be served his meal.”

The tweet, however, got on the wrong side of some people, who felt the clergyman should have been more empathetic towards his wife, instead of requesting for food.

“Why I don’t enjoy kissing on set” – Actress, Nancy Isime

Popular Nollywood actress, Nancy Isime, has corrected the notion that actors enjoy kissing scenes when shooting movies.

Speaking in an interview with media personality Dadaboy, Nancy Isime noted that while many people have the misconception that actors and actresses enjoy sensual scenes, they treat them as mere scripts.

She explained that even though it looks good on screen, she never actually enjoys it on set.

“Well, it’s a script, and Yes, I do kiss in movies. But Why will I enjoy it? 5,000 people around you. Enjoy what? I never enjoy doing nothing. There’s cameras around, it’s a scene.

I prefer to actually have kissing scenes with seasoned actors who understand the professionalism of a kissing scene or a sex scene. ‘Sex’ scene of course because everybody is all dressed up but there is movement.

So there’s literally people who understand the job and are focused and are literally just running through a script.

Asked if she would go Sharon Stone, Halle Berry kinda topless for a movie, Nancy Isime said,

“I don’t know. I don’t know, that’s the truth. I don’t know. I’ve not been met with that kind of script. It has to be for a scene that is probably not sexual. Probably something that maybe something is happening. Like Blood Sisters now. [Something like] there’s a killer coming so there’s too much suspense for you to even look at my breast. Do you understand?

Let me tell you something: look at Blood Sisters. They saw the side of my boob, that is enough for them to say “oh look at that scene”, but nobody talked about it because the next thing fiam fiam, it’s too much, that’s what I’m saying. That kind of scenario where it’s totally necessary. But for a sex scene, I can depict sex without you know, body being open.”
