A young Nigerian lady is currently in a celebratory mood as she finally achieved her lifelong dream of traveling abroad for her university education.

The lady, who worked as a POS operator before she traveled, took to her TikTok page to share her inspiring story.

According to her, after secondary school, while her friends were gaining admission into several universities in Nigeria, she worked in her parent’s POS shop.

She claimed that her former classmates, who were already in university, would usually look down on her and constantly subject her to ridicule whenever they came around.

However, this didn’t deter her, and now she has gained admission and traveled abroad for her studies.

“My classmates in Nigeria were all securing admissions into different universities, but I hadn’t even written the JAMB yet. I was managing my parents’ POS business and constantly subjected to ridicule whenever my classmates came to the shop.

It hurt me deeply, and I often cried and begged my mother to let me go to school in nigeria that I am tired of hoping I’ll school abroad. Her response was always reassuring, telling me to trust in God’s plan and be patient.

“Despite the uncertainties, I held onto my faith and decided not to write the JAMB exam. I believed that God would take perfect control.” She wrote.

A video of a Ghanaian woman and her husband holding their traditional wedding virtually has caused a huge stir on social media.

The husband, who was evidently not in the same country as the wife, was unable to attend his wedding in person and instead joined the ceremony online.

A viral video has capture the moment a female teacher and an unruly female student got into a fight in a high school in North Carolina.

According to reports, the incident took place on Monday, April 17th at Rocky Mount High School in Nash County.

Xaviera Steel, who was working as a substitute teacher at the school, reportedly confiscated the student’s mobile phone as she was using it during class.

The student then confronted Steel in an attempt to get her phone back, arguing that the rules didn’t apply to everyone and insisting that it was her phone.

“Why does the rules not apply to everybody else. That’s my phone,” the girl said.

Steel replied that the rules applied to everyone, but despite warning the student not to touch her, the student swung at her, and the situation quickly escalated into a messy fight between the two.

Rocky Mount police confirmed that incident adding that no injuries were reported.

In other news, the Ogun State police command has arrested a 33-year-old woman, Olaide Adekunle, for reportedly selling her 18-month-old baby to a yet-to-be-identified buyer for N600,000.

The suspect was apprehended when her husband, Nureni Rasaq, filed a complaint at Sango divisional headquarters, that his wife left home for Lagos on March 15, 2023, with their baby girl, Moridiat Rasaq, but returned home without the baby.

He said all attempts to find out what happened to the child were futile because his wife was unable to give any reasonable explanation for her disappearance.

Following the report, the DPO Sango division, CSP Dahiru Saleh, directed his investigators to go after the woman, who was quickly apprehended. Upon questioning, the suspect admitted to selling her kid to someone in Lagos for six hundred thousand naira (#600,000).

She said she sold the child because she took a loan from a microfinance bank, and when she was unable to repay it, the bank agents began harassing her and threatened to deal with her harshly.

As a result of this, she fled to Lagos and began selling sachet water. While hawking one day, she met a man who introduced her to the woman who eventually purchased the child in Lagos.

The state police command’s spokesperson, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the arrest, said the acting Commissioner of Police, DCP Babakura Muhammed, has directed that the suspect be transferred to State Criminal Investigation Departments for further investigation and possible recovery of the baby.
