A Kenyan man has sparked outrage on Twitter after he made an insensitive comment about women who gave birth through cesarean section (CS).

The man, a computer scientist from Kenya, opined in a post he shared on the microblogging platform that women who gave birth via cesarean section (CS) don’t love their children as much as women who gave birth naturally.

According to him, women who gave birth through CS don’t love their children enough because they don’t know the pain of giving birth.

He noted that they didn’t labor enough for the child, and the only experience of childbirth they have is surgery pain, which is reduced by anesthetic drugs.

“UNPOPULAR OPINION: Mothers who gave birth through cesarean section(CS) don’t know the pain of giving birth. They didn’t labor enough for the child hence they don’t really love their children. They only know surgery pain which is reduced by anesthetic drugs. Anyway, what do I know?” He wrote on Twitter.

His post sparked reactions from netizens, especially women, who condemned him for trivializing the pain of childbirth.

Reacting, a Twitter user @LauraJackieCar2 wrote, “Unbelievable! So being cut and opened up has become the new ecstasy? Even being pregnant for 9 months isn’t pain enough to love a child?”

@gbaoo wrote, “Labour Pain can be intensed but shorter to the pain of CS, after many years the pain sensations and the scar remains for life. Don’t compare the two childbirth mode. I know how it is because I experienced it. It made me love my spouse better than before, seeing her slashed opened”.

According to him, such women did not feel the pain of childbirth because they were sedated with anesthetic drugs during the surgical procedure.

A viral video of a heavily pregnant woman and her partner smoking has sparked mixed reactions from social media users.

In the video that has caused a massive stir online, the woman can be seen joyfully smoking marijuana with her partner in their bedroom while showing off her growing baby bump.

The young woman and her man, whom she referred to as her husband, each had a blunt in their hand and were dragging the smoke as they put on a show for social media users.

The couple were vibing and singing along to Joeboy’s songs, and the heavily pregnant woman really appeared to be having a swell time.

Reacting to the clip, social media users noted that smoking is unhealthy and could have an adverse effect on her unborn baby.

A yet-to-be identified man has gone to the great beyond after he slumped by the side of the road in Port Harcourt, Rivers state.

The incident took place on Tuesday afternoon, April 11, 2023, at Rumuigbo Junction area of Obio-Akpor.

According to reports, the man, believed to be in his sixties, was walking by the roadside when he suddenly collapsed on the sidewalk.

A source who only identified herself as Grace, told Vanguard that when the man fell, he struggled to stand up but couldn’t until he gave up the ghost.

She said passersby who gathered around the embattled man were only taking pictures instead of helping him.

“This afternoon, the man was walking by the roadside. Later he fell down. Some people gathered around him. He was struggling to stand up but couldn’t. He later died,” she explained.

“Nobody knew him. People were afraid to touch him because if police come now they may arrest you for questioning. So nobody wanted problem. The man died there.”

The PPRO of the State Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko, who confirmed the incident, stated that the command has ordered an investigation into the death.
