Reality TV star, Victoria Abiri Oluwabusayo, popularly known as Khloe, has been named among Forbes’s 30 Under 30 newest self-made young African innovators.

The former Big Brother Naija star is one of the seven Nigerians among 30 young Africans whose names were published on Forbes magazine on Monday, April 3.

Khloe, who was emotional by the honor bestowed on her by the world-renowned business magazine, took to Instagram to write a lengthy post about how much it meant to her.

She wrote,

“This was a big deal for me because of my story. I was very nervous and emotional during the interview 🙈

….Words cannot express the sheer pride and joy I, Oluwabusayo Abiri, feel as I announce that I have been named one of Forbes’ 30 under 30 honorees!

As a proud Nigerian, this prestigious recognition is a testament to the countless hours of hard work, perseverance, and passion I have poured into my career.

Nollywood actress, Sarah Martins, has stirred reactions with her quite controversial relationship advice to women.

The thespian, who’s a close friend to Nollywood actor Yul Edochie’s second wife, Judy, advised ladies to fearlessly snatch a good man from his partner.

According to her, they should never be afraid to snatch a good man so long as his partner is lousy and careless.

She gave this advice on her Instagram page while posting a video of herself all glammed up for an outing. Sharing the video of herself in a black sheer outfit, Sarah declared that “Nobody is above snatching”.

“Never be afraid to snatch a good man from a lousy and careless woman! He deserve to be loved right… Same goes to women….Nobody is above snatching because everyone deserve to be loved right ❤️🥂”. She wrote.

A 20-year-old man, Philibus Ibrahim, who was arrested for strangling his pregnant girlfriend, Theresa Yakubu, to death in Kano, has confessed to the crime.

Philibus, while being paraded, confessed to killing Theresa, who was pregnant for him, after all efforts to abort her pregnancy failed.

The spokeswoman for the command, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, who disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, said the suspect conspired with his friend, Gabriel Bila, 25, and lured Theresa into a bush where he strangled her to death.

“On 28/03/2023 at about 1630hrs, a report was received that a lady was seen laying on the ground motionless by the roadside at Anadariya Village, Bebeji Local Government Area, along Kano-Jos Road, Kano State.

“On receipt of the report, the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Mamman Dauda psc(+) raised and instructed a team of detectives led by SP Tanimu Wada, Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Bebeji Division to proceed to the scene. The team immediately rushed to the scene and moved the body to Tiga General Hospital where a medical Doctor confirmed her dead.

“Preliminary investigation revealed the identity of the deceased as Theresa Yakubu, ‘f’, 20 years old with a two-month-old pregnancy, of Anadariya Village, Bebeji LGA.

“It also led to the arrest of her boyfriend, one Philibus Ibrahim, ‘m’, 20 years old of Unguwar Korau Quarters, Tudun Wada LGA and his friend, one Gabriel Bila, ‘m’, 25 years old, of the same address.

“On investigation, Philibus confessed that he impregnated the girlfriend two months ago, and all efforts to abort the pregnancy proved abortive. He then conspired with his friend and took her to a bush, the friend held her hands and Philibus used her head tie and strangled her to death

“The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Homicide Section for discreet investigation. Suspects will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.” The statement read.

Court grants relationship expert Blessing Okoro N10m bail

Self-styled relationship expert, Blessing Okoro, has been granted bail by a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos.

Blessing CEO was arraigned by the Lagos State Police Command before Justice Yelim Bogoro of the Federal High Court on six count charges bordering on alleged cyberbullying, libel, and exhibiting uncensored movies.

During the hearing on Tuesday, April 4, Blessing Okoro’s lawyer filed a bail application before Justice Tijjani Ringim of the Federal High Court in Lagos on her behalf, which the police did not oppose.

Regarding the bail conditions, the police urged the court to use its discretion, and the judge granted Blessing CEO bail in the absence of opposition.

The court granted her bail in the sum of N10 million with two sureties in like sum.

The police had claimed that on October 16, 2022, Blessing intentionally sent messages through her Instagram handle, @officialblessingceo, to bully, threaten, and harass Folashade Samuels, also known as Mamajazz, the younger sister of the late Bimbo Ogbonna, wife of Lagos businessman Ikechukwu Ogbonna, also known as IVD.

The prosecution further alleged that Blessing used her Instagram handle to damage the reputation of Folashade Samuels and the late Bimbo Ogbonna by exposing them to hatred, contempt, and ridicule.

According to the police, some of the messages allegedly sent by Blessing Okoro include;

“Let’s ask Mamajazz where her father is??? Their father had exactly the same issue with their mother Ebele and he ran away for his dear life. IVD’s crime was that he was not man enough to run…

Young man recounts how his father miraculously came back to life after drowning

A young man has related a personal incident involving his father’s near-death experience on March 9, 2000, when he drowned.

He was pronounced dead despite numerous efforts to save his life. His corpse was briefly kept outside the morgue due to a lack of mortuary room.

Surprisingly, his father was revived on March 12th, 2000, and has been alive ever since.

He wrote;

“My dad drowned in a river 9th March 2000, he was confirmed d@ad… after so many trials to revive him back, but to no avail…. he was then carried to a mortuary… arriving at the mortuary there was no space, everywhere was filled up…. he was kept outside of the mortuary…
Lo and behold on the 12th of March 2000, my dad was restored back to life by God almighty… miracles do happen &, long story short… my dad is still alive till today.”

In other news, a Nigerian mother came under fire after a video of her underage daughter looking all glammed up for her birthday celebration went viral.

The birthday girl, who appears to be under the age of ten, was seen dressed up like an adult, complete with a frontal wig and full face make-up.

Isreal, who’s currently in the UK for the launch of the PUMA x Davido collection, posted a video of the emotional moment on his Instagram page, where he expressed his admiration and loyalty to Davido as he arrived in the country.

The video shows Isreal kneeling on the pavement near a busy road as he thanks Davido for providing him with tickets to the UK.

A South African doctor, Dr. Laylah has floored a troll who attempted to criticize her online for not cooking like a lady should.

Dr. Laylah took to the microblogging platform, Twitter to share how she survived on Uber eats for 10 days with her friend.

She tweeted:

“My friend and I exclusively ate Uber eats for like 10 days (lunch and supper) and the one day we ordered Kauai and the driver said, “I’m so proud of you guys, this is the healthiest thing you’ve ordered in days.”

Nigerian singer, Davido’s personal logistics manager, Isreal DMW, has taken to social media to express his dissatisfaction with the cost of food in London, United Kingdom.

In a post on his official Instagram account, the socialite revealed that he spent ₦25,000 on Eba and Ogbono soup, which would not cost up to ₦3,000 in Nigeria.

He mentioned that there were only three chunks of beef in the soup to further express his displeasure.

A trending video of a couple who got married at 21 has spurred mixed reactions online.

In the video from the wedding that was posted online, the pair were seen elegantly dressed in their wedding attire as they posed for the camera while surrounded by their loved ones who came to celebrate with them.

Sharing the video, the bride, @meethencubes, expressed excitement at settling down quite early with her boyfriend.

She noted that deciding to tie the knot at age 21 might have been a big decision, but they made it happen with God.

“Choosing to grow old with your bestfriend at 21 years old. We made it with God. Married at 21”, she captioned the video.

However, the video has elicited mixed reactions from social media users. While some believed that it was a good thing that the couple are venturing into matrimony at a young age, others argue they are still too young.

Protesters storm INEC office in Port Harcourt with native doctor (Video)

A group of demonstrators have stormed the Rivers State headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Port Harcourt with a native doctor today, Tuesday 4.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) demonstrators, who were allegedly holding a charms pot and palm branches, surrounded the office’s main entryway.

It was the second day of a sustained demonstration at the INEC office hosting the gubernatorial election in 2023 calling for a combined examination of election materials.

Tonye Cole, an APC candidate for governor, was allegedly assaulted by PDP supporters on Monday and stopped from entering the election umpire’s office, where he was supposed to meet with commission representatives.

Samuel Nwanosike, the chairman of the Ikwerre local government, who was clad in white, performed incantations while the herbalist helped him.

A Nigerian woman has taken to social media to narrate how her boyfriend of ten years dumped her to marry another woman he met in a short period of time.

The lady, identified as @dees_laundry on Twitter, shared her heartbreaking story while reacting to people who mock single women over the age of 30 for being unmarried.

According to her, she wasted ten years of her life with her ex-partner, who eventually betrayed and dumped her to marry someone else, claiming he never loved her from the beginning.

Mind you, I never had a school bf because he lived in Benin while my school was in ekpoma (AAU). All my years in school I never experienced what it felt like to have a bf In school. My whole life was just him. So After graduation, he asked me to move in with him. Though he was out of the country at the time. So I was staying at his place, I had a shop he opened for me while I was waiting for NYSC. Fast forward to a yr later, we started building his house. I was in charge of his finances Because he didn’t trust any of his family members then, so we finished the house in 8mths. I furnished and bought everything in the house but he was the one sending the money. So after Abt 2mths he came back to Nigeria and we moved into the house and rented out the back flat.

A video of celebrity stylist, Toyin Lawani, reprimanding her eight-year-old son, Tenor, for telling her to stop exposing her cleavage has sparked reactions on social media.

Toyin, also known as Tiannah Empire, took to her official Instagram page to share a video of the exchange between herself and her son.

Apparently, Tenor was uncomfortable with his mother’s boobs hanging out from her low-neck outfit, and he pulled up her blouse to cover her cleavage.

However, the 40-year-old designer pulled it back down to show off her cleavage, which Tenor was enraged by and told her to stop pulling her blouse down.

In response to her son’s rebuke, the mother of three chastised him for correcting her outfit when her husband, photographer Segun Wealth, doesn’t mind her choice of clothing.

Man arrested for str@ngling his pregnant girlfriend in Kano

The police have arrested one Philibus Ibrahim for allegedly strangling his pregnant 22-year-old girlfriend, Theresa Yakubu, in Kano state.

Ibrahim, who committed the offence in Tudun Wada Local Government Area (LGA) of the state, was arrested alongside his accomplice Gabriel Bila, both of Unguwar Korau Tudun-Wada LGA.

According to the commissioner of police in the state, Mr. Mamman Dauda, who confirmed the arrest to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), a report was received on April 2 that a young lady was lying unconscious along the Kano-Jos road in Anadaria village.

On receiving the report, a team of police officers stormed the scene and immediately rushed the lady to the Tiga general hospital, where she was confirmed dead.

Investigations by the police showed that the victim left Nassarawan Kuki for Yantomo Village in Garin Babba LGA of Kano on March 27 at about 6:00 p.m.

Further investigations by the police led to the arrest of the principal suspect, who confessed to committing the crime by using the victim’s veil to strangulate her.

“On receiving the information, a team of policemen was rushed to the scene and the victim was taken to Tiga General Hospital where she was confirmed dead by a doctor. In the course of the investigation, the principal suspect was arrested and confessed to committing the offence by using the victim’s veil to strangulate her.” He said.

Billionaire heiress and singer, Florence Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy, has donated £100,000 to Oxford University as part of her initiative to support African graduates at the university.

Cuppy, who recently graduated from Oxford with an MSC in African studies, established the ‘Cuppy African Oxford Fund’ as a scholarship fund for Africans.

She took to her Instagram page to announce the fund, which is intended to support future African leaders by providing them with the necessary skills, resources, and networks to maximize their impact across Africa and beyond.

“All the prophecies were coming to pass” – Skit maker, Ijoba Lande finally opens up on why he left home

Nigerian skit maker, Ganiyu Kehinde, better known as Ijoba Lande, who went missing a few days ago, has finally revealed why he left home.

Recall that Ijoba Lande was declared missing by his family on Monday, March 27, in a video posted on his Instagram page.

In the video, Ijoba Lande’s wife, who raised alarm about his disappearance, explained that Lande left the house on Sunday night, March 26, to an unknown destination without his phone and was yet to return home.

“This is to inform the public that IJOBA LANDE left home to an unknown destination on 26th of march around 9:00 pm and up till now we can find him. He left his phone at home after breaking his fasting on 26th that was the last time we heard from him”, she said in part.

The comedian was later found alive and well by some vigilantes who called the wife’s phone number to alert her on Thursday, March 30.

Ijoba Lande, during an Instagram Live session following his safe return, clarified that he was not kidnapped but left his home intentionally.

When asked why he left home, the comedian explained that he was under a spiritual attack.

“I was under spiritual attack. I left home myself because all the prophecies I heard about myself were all coming to pass.” He said.

Elaborating on the prophecy, he said some prophets told him he would go broke, get into debt, sell his properties, and walk to places he once drove to.

Actress, Mercy Aigbe reveals the meaning of her unique Muslim name ‘Minnah’

Popular Nollywood actress, Mercy Aigbe has revealed the powerful meaning of her new and unique Muslim name ‘Hajia Minnah’.

The thespian, who recently converted to Islam months after marrying her Muslim husband, filmmaker Kazim Adeoti, explained the meaning of her name on her Instagram page.

This follows the mixed reactions that trailed her name ‘Minnah’ as some netizens berated her for allegedly modernizing the name ‘Aminat’ or ‘Meenah’.

In response, the 45-year-old actress revealed that her name is Minnah, which means “mercy and gift from Allah.” She also revealed that the name was suggested to her by her husband, and she loved it!

She also encouraged Muslim parents to name their female children ‘Minnah’, because it’s a sweet and unique name.

The mother of two wrote,

“I saw a lot of comments from some Muslims saying it’s Aminat, some said it’s ‘meenah’ and mennah is not a Muslim name etc 😂 so it is not Aminat, neither is it meenah… The correct name is MINNAH 😁

I understand it’s not a common name so a lot of people aren’t used to it, it’s a powerful, sweet, unique name that’s why when hubby suggested it, I loved it 😍

If you are a Muslim and searching for a unique baby girl’s name for your princess, I’ll recommend MINNAH and make sure you invite me to the naming 😁😄❤️❤️”

Singer Sina Rambo’s wife, Heidi, has responded to those criticizing her for reconciling with her husband months after she called him out, accusing him of assaulting her.

The mother of two had hinted at their reconciliation when she shared a video of her and the singer on a family outing with their daughter on her Instagram page on Monday.

Their reconciliation came as a surprise to many, as Heidi had indicated in a series of posts on her Instagram page that she was done with the marriage.

She even lambasted when he celebrated her birthday in February.

Well, only months after the messy social-media drama, the pair appears to have buried the hatchet.

Their reconciliation caused quite a stir online; while some congratulated them, others queried why she made such a scene only to return to him.

Reacting to the backlash, Heidi, in a video she shared on her Instagram stories, said everyone is entitled to their opinions and that she doesn’t owe anyone an explanation.

“People are going to beleve what they want to believe. I cant even bother myself explaining myself to anyone at this point I can’t bother myself explaining to anybody, you don’t deserve that explanation”, she said in part.

UNIBEN reacts to brutal k!lling of final year student

The management of the University of Benin, Edo State, has reacted to the killing of a final-year student of the school, Desmond, popularly known as Mayor.

The deceased, a student of the Department of Public Administration, was shot in the face at about 9 p.m. in his hostel on Monday, April 3.

The management of the university, in a statement signed by the public relations officer, Dr. Benedicta Ehanire, on Tuesday, condemned the killing and disclosed that the management was working closely with the police and internal security to apprehend the killer.

“The management of the University of Benin has condemned the brutal and sad killing of a final year male student, known mostly as ‘Mayor’ (real name withheld) on the night of Monday 3rd March, 2023.

“The gruesome shooting occurred in one of halls of residence and was carried out by yet to be identified gunman. While commiserating with the family and colleagues of the late student, the management enjoins other students to be calm.

“Management is also working closely with the internal security units in ensuring that such dastardly incident does not occur again within the university’s premises,” the statement read.

Until his death, Mayor was also the school’s Kegite chief.

A Nigerian content creator has taken to social media to narrate how her close friend allegedly paid someone N200k to eliminate her.

The lady, identified as @king__mitchy on Instagram, shared an audio recording of her conversation with the hired assassin, who claimed he was paid N200k to pour acid on her face and break her legs.

In the lengthy audio, the man claimed that the woman who contacted him gave him acid to pour on Mitchy’s face in order to disfigure her appearance because “she was doing too much.”

The man, however, said he couldn’t carry out the plan because he knows Mitchy and has seen her help people in the Ajah area of Lagos state.

Speaking further, he warned her that the mastermind threatened to send someone else to kill her if he failed to complete the task.

Mitchy shared a video of herself weeping and wrote,

“The man that was sent to kill me said it was a girl that gave them acid to pour on on my face and break my leg ,called and said he was sent by a girl that is very close to me and proceeded to say if they can’t find me at home they should go to my shop and it’s only one female friend that knows my shop, also he said she told them if they can’t get the job done she was ready to pay someone else to get the job done.”

Popular Nollywood actor, Chidi Mokeme, has shared a video of the hilarious moment his son confronted him for giving him fake $100 bills.

The veteran actor, who lives in the United States, was relaxing in his backyard when his son approached him to express his displeasure with him for giving him fake dollars as a cash gift.

Despite Chidi Mokeme’s efforts to refute his son’s claim that the money is a counterfeit, the young champ presented compelling evidence to support his claim.

According to his son, the money felt heavier than usual, was blue in color, and was strong and difficult to tear. He then tackled his father for thinking he is stupid and can’t tell right from wrong.

“You really think I have a peanut brain.
You are trying to scam me”, the actor’s son said in the video.

The 51-year-old actor, who feigned ignorance about the authenticity of the money, posted the video on Instagram and told his son to go to court, referring to President-elect Bola Tinubu’s order to Labour Party’s Peter Obi to contest the election result in court.

He captioned the video,

UNIBEN final year student shot dɘad in his hostel

A final year student of the University of Benin (UNIBEN), identified simply as Desmond, has been assassinated by gunmen suspected to be cultists.

The victim, who was popularly called ‘Mayor’, was shot dead in his room at the Hall 3 Hostel around 9pm on Monday night, April 3.

The deceased was reportedly in the Department of Public Administration and a Kegite chief, until his death.

A source, who spoke anonymously, said Desmond was shot in the face at point-blank range and didn’t stand a chance of survival.

“The killing of Desmond has caused panic in the school. Students are even afraid to stay in the hostel. He was shot in the face and had no chance to survive the attack.” the student said.

Meanwhile, his remains has been deposited in the morgue at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH).

In other news, a popular Nigerian comedian and skitmaker, John Kennedy Kanu, better known as Bros Jay Kay, has passed away.

He was reportedly involved in a fatal car accident on Rumuodara East West road in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, today Monday, April 3.

Before his untimely death, the deceased was very popular on Facebook and had recently celebrated reaching two million followers on the social media platform.

“Mingle with lawyers that know the law” – Singer, Portable advises as he hails his legal team (Video)

Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has taken to social media to shower praise on his legal team following his release from police custody.

Taking to his Instagram page, the singer, who was released from prison last night after being remanded earlier pending the perfection of his bail conditions, emphasized the importance of having capable lawyers.

Recall that Portable, who was arraigned at the Ifo magistrate court on Monday, April 3, on a three-count charge, was granted bail in the sum of N300,000 and to provide two sureties with landed properties within the court’s vicinity.

Following his release from prison, Portable, via his social media pages, expressed gratitude to his lawyers, who saw that he got out.

He advised people who are in trouble to get themselves lawyers that actually know what they’re doing.

“Try to mingle with better lawyers that know Law”, he said in part.

This comes after a popular legal practitioner, Inibehe Effiong, stated that controversial singer, Portable was the nightmare of every lawyer because he is a difficult client.

Recall that the singer resisted arrest after some men of the police command stormed his bar to arrest him for failing to honor several invitations sent to him on Tuesday.

Reacting to the standoff going on between the police and the singer, and his revelation that he purposely ignored the request to come in, the lawyer took to his Facebook page to claim that the singer is the kind of client who will act and speak in a way that is contrary to a lawyer’s plan of action.

He wrote;
“When it comes to having problematic, difficult, and deviant clients, Portable is every lawyer’s nightmare. He is the type of client that will be doing things and making comments that are counter productive to a lawyer’s strategy.”

The PPRO of the Katsina State Police Command, CSP Isah Gambo, has opined that real men don’t choose their life partners on social media.

The spokesperson, who seems to be a traditional Nigerian man, made this submission via his official Twitter handle recently, in response to a young woman seeking a husband online.

He advised her to reconsider her decision and warned her against putting herself out there on social media because real men don’t choose their spouses online.

“You need to rethink about posting your request for a husband on Twitter. Real men don’t choose their life partners on social media. Young girl, please think over it.” he said.

In other news, tech entrepreneur, Osaretin Victor Asemota, has narrated how an intending bride cheated on her husband-to-be before their wedding.

Taking to Twitter over the weekend, Asemota disclosed that the Nigerian bride-to-be visited her married boyfriend for one last ‘mekewe’ before her traditional and white wedding.

Asemota, who described the incident as his weirdest experience in Nigeria, claimed that the bride-to-be slept with her side nigga in exchange for a monetary wedding gift.

Popular media personality, Chinedu Ani Emmanuel, professionally known as Nedu Wazobia, has stated that he’ll never marry a virgin.

He said this during the latest episode of his “Honest Bunch” podcast with actress Juliana Olayode, where they shared their opinions on marriage and virginity.

He noted that he will never get married to a virgin because he believes ladies who are not virgins tend to make better decisions than those who are virgins.

He stated that ladies who decide to remain chaste until marriage attach too much pride and value to it, which in the long run makes them misbehave.

“If I want to marry, I would not get marry to someone who’s a virgin and I will tell you why. I think girls that are not virgins tends to make better decisions, those girls that are virgins, they believe, oh this is my pride, my virginity is my pride, it’s my value, I’m a 30 Year Old and I’m a virgin and I kept it to myself”, he said.

Heavyweight boxer, Anthony Joshua, has gotten people talking online after he flirted up a storm with sports presenter, Laura Woods, during a live interview.

Joshua claimed another victory following his fight with American opponent Franklin on Saturday, this time by the unanimous decision of the judges.

Following his victory, Joshua was in a particularly relaxed mood in his dressing room when Laura, 35, went to interview him in the stead of iFL’s co-founder Kugan Cassius, who usually conducts the interview.

The boxer was clearly interested in Laura and fixed his gaze on her throughout their cosy chat, with the two sitting beside each other on the sofa with barely an inch between them.

“I’ve learnt a new lesson” – Portable admits as he is released on bail

Controversial Nigerian singer, Portable has broken his silence after he was granted bail by a magistrate court sitting in Ifo, Ifo local government area of Ogun State.

Recall that the Zazu singer landed in police custody on Friday, March 31, 2023, after an intense drama with police officers at his bar on Thursday.

He was subsequently arraigned in court this morning, April 3, on a three-count charge bordering on assault and theft of musical equipment.

Magistrate A.S. Shoneye ruled on a request for parole made by his attorney, stating that the crimes were bailable. The judge approved N300,000 in portable bond with two sureties in the same amount. The court decided that both sureties had to own property close to the court.

However, the judge decided that Portable should go to the Ilaro Correctional Center while his parole conditions are being satisfied.

The singer has perfected his bail condition and let out.

Speaking in an Instagram live he claimed God kept him in detention to protect him from evil and he has learnt real lessons.
